Home Care in Essex 475 home care agencies · 270 rated Good by CQC

Support delivered inside a person's own home is what all 475 home care agencies listed for Essex have in common, though very little else about them is identical. Ratings across that group include Outstanding and Good, alongside agencies rated Requires Improvement and others holding no rating because the Care Quality Commission has not yet inspected them. Essex County Council is responsible for the care needs assessment that establishes what help is required and how often, and for the financial assessment that determines how much of the cost is met from public funds rather than by the family. Either can be requested regardless of income or savings. Because agencies build their rounds around geography, registration in the county is no guarantee that a particular street is covered, so ask that question before anything else. Then open the profile of each agency still under consideration, read the inspection report that lies behind its rating, and let the findings there decide which one you approach first.

    • Home Care

Gold Cross Care provides support at home for people living in Harlow and the surrounding parts of Essex, including older people, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and younger adults who want to live independently with the right help behind them. What we do varies a great deal from person to person. For some it is a short daily visit to help with personal care, medication or meals, enough to keep everything ticking along. For others it is more substantial support with cooking, shopping, managing money, keeping a tenancy going, getting to work or college, and staying in touch with family and professionals. We are as interested in what somebody can manage alone as in what they need help with, and we are careful to leave decisions where they belong. For autistic people we pay particular attention to routine, to clear communication and to giving plenty of notice before anything changes. Support is planned with the person and reviewed as life moves on. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we say so openly. If you are making a referral, or looking into support for yourself or a relative, please get in touch and we will talk it through plainly.

    • Home Care

Bloomsbury Home Care supports people in their own homes in Clacton on Sea and across Essex. We are a home care agency, so everything we do happens where you live, on your terms, and at times you have agreed with us. We support older people, including many living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Supporting such a range of people well means never assuming, so we begin by understanding how someone lives now and what they actually want help with. That might be a short call in the morning to help someone wash and dress, prompting and support with medication, help with meals, shopping and keeping the house in order, or longer visits providing company and a reliable presence. We keep the same care workers going to the same people wherever we can, because good home care depends on somebody knowing you well enough to spot a change early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We are glad of it, and we treat the points we were asked to watch as ongoing rather than closed. If you are starting to look into care for yourself or for someone in your family, get in touch and we will talk it through with you honestly, with no pressure to decide quickly.

    • Home Care

Helping Hands Chelmsford provides care at home for people across Chelmsford and the surrounding parts of Essex. We believe most people manage far better at home than anywhere else, provided the right help turns up at the right time and comes from somebody they have come to trust. Our carers visit older people who need assistance with personal care, medication, meals or mobility, and we support people living with dementia, where familiar surroundings and a familiar face are often the most valuable things on offer. We also work with people living with a physical disability, people who have sight or hearing loss, and younger adults who want support that helps them stay independent. Every arrangement begins with a proper conversation about how somebody likes things done, including what they would rather manage alone. We review support as needs change, keep families informed where that is wanted, and plan for continuity rather than leaving it to chance. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. If you are thinking about care at home in this part of Essex, get in touch and we will come out, talk it through and be honest about what we can offer and how soon we could begin.

    • Home Care

Nines Care provides care and support in people's own homes across Stansted and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our work is to give people enough support to carry on living where they want to live. We visit older people and younger adults. Support may cover help with washing and dressing, prompting or giving medication, preparing meals, shopping, laundry and keeping the house in order. For a great many of the people we visit it also means a familiar face at a predictable time and someone who notices how they are getting on. We support people living with dementia, and continuity is at the heart of that work. We build our rounds so that the same carers see the same people wherever we can arrange it, because familiarity is the most effective thing anybody can offer in dementia care. Before care begins we come out, talk and assess properly. We want to understand the household, the routines that already work and the things that have become difficult, and we want the person themselves to shape the plan. Family are welcome in that conversation when the person wants them there, and the plan changes as needs change. If you are considering care at home, please get in touch. We will visit, listen and be straight with you about what we can offer.

    • Home Care

We at Central Care Recruitment are proud to provide compassionate home care across Harlow and the surrounding communities in Essex, supporting people to live well and safely in the place they know best: their own home. Operating throughout the Harlow area and the wider CM postcode region, our team brings personalised care directly to the doorsteps of those who need it. Rather than asking people to adjust to an unfamiliar environment, we come to you, working within the comfort of familiar surroundings, treasured belongings, and established routines. This community based approach means we understand the local area, its neighbourhoods, and the lives our clients have built here in Essex. Our care covers a broad spectrum of needs, reflecting the reality that no two people require exactly the same support. We provide dedicated older person care for those who wish to remain independent at home as they age, alongside specialist dementia care delivered with patience, understanding, and an emphasis on dignity. For younger adults and those living with a learning disability or autism, we tailor our approach to promote independence, choice, and meaningful daily living. We also support individuals managing mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments, adapting our communication and care techniques to suit each person. Additionally, we offer thoughtful support for those navigating the challenges of alcohol or drug misuse, providing a non judgemental and steady presence. In practice, this means families can expect care plans shaped around the individual, not the other way round. Whether it is help with personal care in the morning, companionship through the afternoon, medication prompts, meal preparation, or more complex support throughout the day, our carers aim to bring both skill and warmth into every visit. For relatives who live further away or who balance caring responsibilities with work and family, knowing that a trusted team is calling in regularly can bring genuine peace of mind. The Care Quality Commission has rated Central Care Recruitment as Good overall, with a Good rating across each of the five key domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led, following the most recent inspection in March 2022. This consistent picture across every area reflects a culture of reliable, attentive, and well organised care, where safety and kindness sit side by side. For families weighing up their options, a Good CQC rating offers an independent reassurance that the fundamentals of quality care are firmly in place. If you are exploring home care for yourself or a loved one in Harlow or the wider Essex area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We understand that beginning this journey can feel daunting, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and help you find a path forward that feels right. Whatever the situation, we will meet you with patience, respect, and the steady support your family deserves.

At Caring Direct, we provide home care to people living in Braintree and the surrounding areas of Essex. We support individuals in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, which we believe makes a real difference to wellbeing and quality of life. Our team works with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We recognise that every person we support has their own routines, preferences, and goals, and we try hard to reflect that in the way we deliver care. We want to be straightforward with you. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a "requires improvement" rating, and we take that seriously. We have been working hard to address the areas highlighted and to raise the standard of care and support we provide. We believe in being honest about where we are, and we are committed to demonstrating real, lasting improvement for the people who rely on us. Home care means people can stay in the place they know best, surrounded by the things that matter to them. Whether someone needs support with daily living, personal care, or more specialist assistance, we aim to provide a consistent and reliable presence that people and their families can trust. We are always happy to have an open conversation about what support might look like for you or your loved one. If you would like to find out more about how we work or whether we could be the right fit for your needs, please do get in touch. We would genuinely welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

    • Home Care

Access Dignity Care supports adults in their own homes in Walton on Naze and the surrounding part of Essex. We help with personal care, medication, meals, shopping and housework, and with the wider business of staying connected to other people and to the world outside. Our work covers older people and those living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people living with mental health needs, adults with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. That is a broad range, and it works because we plan around individuals. What helps one person is not what helps another, and a support plan that could apply to anybody is usually of no real use to anyone. For dementia care in particular we push hard for consistency, because a familiar carer who knows someone's routine can make a visit calm rather than difficult. For people living with mental health needs we pay attention to early changes and act on them rather than waiting. We work in a coastal area where some people are quite isolated, and we treat company and conversation as part of the visit rather than an extra. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you are considering home care here, please get in touch and we will come out and talk honestly about it.

Delight Supported Living provides support in people's own homes in Colchester and across Essex. Our work is to give people enough help to carry on living in their own houses, delivered by carers they know and at the times they have agreed. We visit older people needing assistance with washing, dressing, meals and medication, and people living with dementia, where familiar faces and a settled routine count for a great deal. We support people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, including safe help with moving and transfers, and younger adults needing support to live independently. For younger adults in particular, the emphasis is often less on doing things for people and more on making it possible for them to do things themselves, whether that is cooking, budgeting, keeping appointments or getting out and about. Everything starts with a home visit and an honest conversation about what would genuinely help. The plan is agreed with the person and reviewed as circumstances change. Forest Homecare provides care in people's own homes in Halstead and across the surrounding part of Essex. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions, and people with physical disabilities or sight and hearing loss. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased about it, but what it really reflects is a set of ordinary things done consistently. Turning up when we said we would. Sending carers people know. Giving those carers enough time to do the visit properly. Listening when somebody tells us something is not working, and changing it. The support itself covers personal care, prompting and support with medication, meals, shopping and housework, and getting out to appointments, work or simply to see people. What that looks like differs from one household to the next, and we plan it with the person rather than for them. Our carers are asked to notice as well as to do. If somebody is eating less, sleeping badly or seeming low, we want to know the same day so that we can speak to a relative or the GP before it becomes something larger. If you are arranging care at home in Essex for yourself or for a relative, please contact us and we will visit and talk it through.

At Advantage Healthcare in Colchester, Essex, we provide home care that allows people to remain in the surroundings they know and love. We believe that staying at home, with the right support in place, makes a genuine difference to how people feel and how they live their lives. We work with individuals across Suffolk and Essex who need a range of support, whether that is help with everyday tasks, personal care, or more complex needs. Every person we support has their own routines, preferences and priorities, and we take the time to understand what matters most to each individual before we put anything in place. Care that fits around someone's life is far more meaningful than care that asks them to fit around ours. Our team is made up of people who take their work seriously and who understand that coming into someone's home is a privilege. We invest in training and ongoing development so that the people we support can feel confident in whoever comes through their door. That consistency and reliability matters enormously to the people we care for and to their families. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good. That recognition reflects the effort and commitment our team brings to their work every day, and it gives families reassurance when they are making what can be a very significant decision. If you are looking into home care for yourself or for someone close to you, we are always happy to have a straightforward conversation about what we can offer and whether we might be the right fit. We provide care at home in Basildon and the surrounding part of Essex, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Our part is practical. We arrange visits at the times that suit, help with washing and dressing, support with medication, a hand with meals, shopping and housework, assistance to move about the house safely, and company for somebody who spends too much of the week alone. Where needs are greater we arrange more frequent calls, and where they change we review the plan rather than leaving it as it was first agreed. What people really judge an agency on is whether carers arrive when they said they would and whether it is the same faces each week. We work at both. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are unwell, in pain or unusually withdrawn, and the person is spared explaining themselves over and over. For people living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried visit does more good than anything written in a care plan. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach senior colleagues for advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that openly with anyone considering us. By delivering support in familiar surroundings, we help the people we care for maintain their routines, stay connected to their local community, and enjoy the comfort and independence that comes from being in their own space. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. We provide thoughtful older person care and home care for those who simply need a helping hand with daily living, alongside specialist dementia care designed to bring calm, reassurance and dignity to individuals navigating memory loss. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. In practice, this means our care is shaped around the individual rather than the condition: from gentle prompts and companionship, to support with personal care, medication, mobility and communication. For families, it means peace of mind knowing that their loved one is being looked after by a team who take the time to understand the whole person, their history, their preferences and what makes a good day for them. We are proud that the Care Quality Commission rated us Good overall at our most recent inspection in May 2023, with Good ratings awarded across all five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This consistent recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to safe, kind and well-organised care that genuinely responds to the people we support and the families who trust us. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults whose care needs sit alongside work, study and family life. Visits range from a short call in the morning to several hours of support each day, and the right arrangement often changes over time, so we review it honestly rather than leaving a package in place because it is what was agreed at the start. A home care visit is never only the task it was booked for. It is frequently the main contact somebody has in a day, and it is the point at which changes get noticed. A person eating less than last month. A bruise that was not there before. Somebody quieter or less steady than usual. Carers who know a household well see these things, which is why we try hard to send the same faces. We are honest about what we can take on, and we will say so if we are not the right fit for a household. Haytan Health Care is a home care agency based in Chelmsford, supporting people in their own homes across Essex. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, a mental health condition or a physical disability, and younger adults who need support to live independently. We start by asking what would genuinely help, then build the visits around that. Support can include help with getting up, washing and dressing, prompting or assisting with medication, preparing meals and drinks, light housework, and getting out to appointments, the shops or a group. Some households need a single short call to start the day and others need support morning, afternoon and evening. Both are worth doing carefully. Consistency matters more than anything else in home care. We aim to send the same small team to the same household so that a proper relationship can form, and so that our carers notice when someone is eating less, sleeping badly or looking unsteady. Those early signs are often what keeps a person out of hospital. Our staff are trained and supervised, and we expect them to be punctual, respectful and honest with families when something is not right. We would rather set realistic expectations at the start than promise more than we can deliver. If you are looking at care at home in the Chelmsford area, we are happy to talk it through without any obligation.

    • Home Care

Universal Complex Care is a home care agency working across Harlow and the wider Essex area. We support people in their own homes, including those whose needs are substantial and require carefully planned, skilled support. The people we work with include older adults, those living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who need support to live independently. Packages range from a daily visit through to extensive support across the day, covering personal care, medication, moving and handling, meals, and help to get out and do the things that make a life rather than merely sustain one. Where needs are complex we plan properly. We take time at the outset to understand the whole picture, agree clearly who does what, and make sure our carers are trained for the specific tasks in front of them rather than trained in general. We work with district nurses, therapists and hospital teams so that everyone is pulling in the same direction, and we speak up early if a package is no longer fit for what someone needs. Continuity is something we protect. People with high support needs should not have to explain themselves afresh to a new face every week, so we keep teams small and consistent, and we keep families informed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to discuss what support might look like.

    • Home Care

Metro Homecare provides care in people's own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We support older people, adults living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Staying at home is what nearly everyone wants, and it is usually achievable for far longer than people expect if the right support is in place. That might be a single call each morning to help with washing, dressing and medication, or several visits across the day taking in personal care, meals, prompting and a bit of company. We agree the shape of it with the person rather than presenting them with a package. Continuity is the part that makes or breaks home care. We plan rotas so that the same carers go to the same person, because familiarity makes personal care easier to accept and because a carer who knows someone will notice quickly when they are not themselves. We are equally willing to tell you when things need to change. If someone needs more from us, or if the arrangement is no longer keeping them safe at home, we will say so rather than let it drift. Metro Homecare does not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Please ring us with your questions and we will give you straight answers about how we work.

Care at Hand supports people in their own homes in Harlow and the surrounding parts of Essex. We visit older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing has changed. We should begin with our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, which is requires improvement. We are not going to talk our way around it. We know what was found, we have an improvement plan, and we have put more supervision into visits and more checking into our own records while we work through it. Anyone considering our support is entitled to ask what has changed and how we are making sure it lasts, and we will answer properly. The work itself is about making daily life manageable at home. Help with washing and dressing, with medication, with meals and shopping, with appointments, and with the company that stops a week feeling very long. We try to send the same carers to the same households, because familiarity is what allows somebody to accept help without feeling their privacy has gone, and because familiar staff notice when a person is not themselves. If you would like to talk about support at home, including about our rating, please get in touch and ask us the difficult questions.

Here at Hospice at Home, we provide person centred home care to people living in Basildon and the surrounding areas of Essex. Our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, comfortable and genuinely supported in the place they know best — their own home. We support a wide range of people with varying needs, including older adults, people living with dementia, those with learning disabilities or autism, individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, people with physical disabilities, and those with visual or hearing impairments. We also work with younger adults who need a helping hand to live as independently as possible. Whatever the circumstances, we take the time to understand each person as an individual, not just a care plan on a page. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of Good, which reflects the consistent, thoughtful care our team delivers day in and day out. We are proud of that recognition, though we always look for ways to improve and grow. We know that inviting a care provider into your home, or into the home of someone you love, requires a great deal of trust. We do not take that lightly. From the very first conversation, we aim to be straightforward, honest and responsive. We listen carefully to what matters most to the people we support and to their families, and we build care around those priorities rather than working from a one size fits all approach. If you are exploring home care options in the Basildon area and would like to find out more about how we can help, we would genuinely welcome the chance to speak with you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch — we are always happy to have an honest conversation about what we can offer.

We provide care at home in Harlow and the surrounding parts of Essex, supporting older adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people with physical disabilities. Supporting that range means we plan individually rather than running everybody through one routine. What helps an older person stay safely at home has little in common with what helps a young autistic adult manage their own flat, and a service that treats them alike will do neither properly. For autistic adults and people with learning disabilities we are careful to be exactly where we said, at the time we said, doing what was agreed, because improvising is rarely helpful. Practical help is much of what we do: personal care, medication, meals, shopping, laundry, keeping a household in order. The rest is harder to put on a care plan. Noticing that somebody is not themselves. Staying the last ten minutes rather than leaving early. Telling the office when something has changed. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather hear about a problem this week than be congratulated in general terms.

    • Home Care

Oak Barn Homecare provides care and support to people in their own homes in Basildon and the surrounding area. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. We assess at home, because a house tells you a great deal that no form will. What we are trying to establish is where help would make a real difference and what the person would rather carry on managing themselves, since support that takes over more than it has to does more harm than good. The plan comes out of that conversation and belongs to the person to change. Support may be a single daily call for personal care and medication, or several visits covering meals, housework, shopping, company and getting out and about. Where somebody has a physical disability we pay attention to the mechanics of the place, because whether a frame is within reach or help arrives at the right moment decides far more than any wording in a care plan. Where there is sensory loss we think about lighting, contrast and hearing aids that have actually been checked. For people living with dementia, familiarity and timing do more good than anything else, so we keep teams small and say in advance when a new carer is coming. Our carers are checked and trained before they visit anybody, and we are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

3HA Care North Essex provides support at home for people across Colchester and the north of Essex. Our work is to make staying at home practical, with help arriving at the moments it is genuinely needed. We visit older people who need a hand with personal care, medication, meals, mobility or the household jobs that quietly become obstacles. We support people living with dementia, where familiar rooms and a familiar face do so much of the work on their own. We also work with people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability, and people who have sight or hearing loss, adapting how we communicate and how we help to suit the person in front of us. Every arrangement begins with a conversation about how somebody likes their day to run and what they would rather do for themselves. We review support as needs change, keep families informed where that is wanted, and plan for continuity so that people are not constantly explaining their own routine to somebody new. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. If you are looking into care at home in this part of Essex, please call us. We will visit, listen and give you an honest view of what we can do.

At Unique Resourcing, we provide home care to people living in Brentwood, Essex and the surrounding areas. Our work centres on supporting individuals to remain in their own homes, maintaining their independence and continuing to live life on their own terms. We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We understand that every person who comes to us has a different set of circumstances, preferences and goals, so we take care to get to know each individual before anything else. Care that fits one person will not necessarily fit another, and we never treat it as though it does. Our approach is straightforward. We listen, we plan carefully, and we show up consistently. The people we support and their families deserve to feel confident that the care being provided is reliable, respectful and genuinely responsive to changing needs. We do not believe in a one size fits all model, and we work hard to ensure that the support we offer reflects what each person actually wants from their life at home. Home care done well can make an enormous difference to someone's day to day wellbeing, and we take that responsibility seriously. Whether we are supporting someone who needs a little help around the house or someone who requires more complex, ongoing care, we bring the same level of attention and respect to every visit. We are proud to be based in Brentwood and to be part of a community where people look out for one another. If you are considering care for yourself or for someone close to you, we would welcome the chance to have an honest conversation about how we might be able to help.

    • Home Care

Thorough Care supports people in their own homes in Rochford and across the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people, including many living with dementia, and with adults of any age who have a learning disability or autism, a physical disability, or a visual or hearing impairment. We also support younger adults who want help to live more independently. Home care is at its best when it fits round somebody quietly. We start by asking what is genuinely difficult and what someone still manages perfectly well on their own, and we build the support from that. Visits can cover personal care, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals and drinks, moving safely around the home, laundry, shopping and getting to appointments. For some people the most valuable part is simply that someone reliable comes, notices how they are and has time to talk. We agree the plan with the person and with their family where they want that, and we review it when things change instead of letting it run on out of habit. Timings are agreed and we do our best to keep to them, because a call that arrives when it said it would is worth more than an apology later. Continuity is a priority. We aim to send the same small team to the same household so that people are not explaining themselves to a stranger each week. We stay in contact with GPs, district nurses and social workers so concerns are raised early. If you would like to talk about support, please get in touch.

We at Tetraco are proud to offer compassionate home care across Harlow and the surrounding areas of Essex, supporting people to live safely, comfortably and independently in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area, our team is well positioned to reach families throughout Harlow and the wider East of England region. Because we deliver care in your own familiar surroundings, there is no need to leave behind the garden you love, the neighbours you know or the routines that bring you comfort. Instead, we bring thoughtful, personalised support directly to your doorstep, working around the rhythm of your day and the layout of your home. Our care is genuinely broad in scope, reflecting the diverse needs of the community we serve. We provide older person care for those who simply need a little extra help to keep enjoying life at home, alongside specialised dementia care that focuses on maintaining dignity, routine and reassurance for people living with memory loss. Families often tell us how much peace of mind this brings, knowing a familiar face is arriving to help with the moments that matter, from morning routines to evening wind downs. For younger adults and people living with a learning disability or autism, we take a person centred approach that respects individuality, encourages independence and supports meaningful daily activity. Our mental health support is delivered with patience and understanding, recognising that recovery and wellbeing look different for everyone. We also support people with physical disabilities and those with visual or hearing impairments, adapting how we communicate and assist so that every person feels genuinely heard and respected. In practice, this means our care can flex as life changes. A short visit to help with medication today might grow into fuller support tomorrow, and our team is here to walk alongside you through those transitions. For relatives, particularly those living further afield, knowing that a trusted carer is checking in regularly can transform daily worry into reassurance. As a newer entry on the care landscape, Tetraco is currently listed as Not Yet Rated by the Care Quality Commission. This simply means a full inspection has not yet taken place, and it is common for providers awaiting their first rating. We remain fully committed to meeting the standards families rightly expect, and we welcome open conversations about how we work, who we are and the values that guide our care. If you are exploring home care options for yourself or a loved one in Harlow, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Choosing care is a significant step, and we are here to listen, answer your questions and help you feel confident about what comes next. Whatever your situation, you will find a caring ear and honest guidance at Tetraco.

    • Home Care

Willow Tree Lodge provides care and support to people in their own homes in Chelmsford and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with adults who have learning disabilities, autistic adults, younger adults and people managing mental health conditions. Most of the people we support have a long life ahead of them and their own ideas about how to live it. Support in that situation is not about keeping somebody safe and occupied. It is about making a particular life workable, whether that means keeping a tenancy, holding down a job or a college place, seeing friends, managing money or getting about independently. So we begin with what the person wants rather than a list of needs. Plans are written with them, in a form they can actually use, involving family or an advocate if they want that, and revised as things change rather than at fixed review dates. We keep the team around each person small and introduce new support workers properly. For autistic people that consistency matters more than almost anything, along with notice of change well in advance and attention to sensory needs. Where somebody communicates through signing, pictures, objects or their own familiar gestures, our staff learn their way of doing it. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we keep support consistent and work alongside their community team, because inconsistency between services is what unsettles people most. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about support.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Colchester and the surrounding area, supporting older people and younger adults who need a hand to manage in their own houses and flats. Our work is simple to describe and particular in the doing. We send trained carers to people who need help at home, and we arrange that help around the life somebody already has rather than around our own convenience. For some people a single visit each morning for washing, dressing and medication is enough. Others need calls through the day and into the evening, help with meals and shopping, and support to move about the house safely. We agree what is needed with the person and whoever they want involved, then keep checking that it still fits. Continuity is the part we work hardest at. Care at home only goes well when the person and the carer know one another. A carer who has visited for months notices the small changes that signal somebody is becoming unwell or low in spirits, and the person is spared explaining themselves to a stranger. Our carers are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach a senior colleague whenever they want advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that openly. If you are considering care at home, please get in touch and we will be honest about what we can take on.

We at Always There Domiciliary Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Epping and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. As a trusted domiciliary care agency in Epping, we bring professional support directly to your loved one's doorstep. Operating throughout the CM postcode area and the wider East of England, our team travels to residents across Epping and its neighbouring villages and towns. Because our care is delivered in the familiar surroundings of each person's own home, the environment remains one of comfort, memory, and independence. There is no need to leave behind cherished belongings, treasured routines, or beloved pets. Instead, we adapt our support to fit seamlessly into the rhythm of daily life, whether that is a quiet flat in the town centre or a family home tucked away in the Essex countryside. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We support older people who value their independence but appreciate a helping hand with daily living, as well as individuals living with dementia, where consistency, patience, and gentle reassurance make all the difference. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, our approach focuses on preserving dignity, encouraging familiar routines, and offering the kind of steady presence that eases anxiety for both the person receiving care and their loved ones. We also provide dedicated support for younger adults and people living with learning disabilities or autism, working alongside each individual to promote choice, confidence, and meaningful daily activity. Our mental health support is delivered with sensitivity and without judgement, recognising that recovery and wellbeing look different for everyone. For those with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments, we tailor our approach to remove barriers, encourage independence, and ensure communication is always clear, respectful, and person centred. In practice, this means our care can range from a short daily visit to help with medication, personal care, or preparing a meal, through to more comprehensive support throughout the day. Families tell us that knowing a familiar, kind face is arriving brings enormous peace of mind, particularly for relatives who live further afield or who are balancing caring responsibilities with work and family life. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our latest Care Quality Commission inspection, where we were awarded an overall rating of Good. Every individual domain assessed by the CQC, covering whether our care is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led, was also rated Good. For families, this independent recognition offers valuable reassurance that the care we deliver meets recognised national standards and that our organisation is managed with integrity and accountability. Choosing home care is a deeply personal decision, and we understand the weight that comes with it. Whether you are exploring options for a parent who is becoming more forgetful, a partner recovering from illness, or a younger family member seeking greater independence, we are here to listen without pressure. We warmly invite you to get in touch with Always There Domiciliary Care to discuss how we might support your family. • Home Care

We at Michael Rgis Care are proud to be a trusted home care agency supporting individuals and families across Colchester and the wider Essex area. Our mission is to bring compassionate, professional care directly into the homes of those who need it, allowing our clients to remain where they feel most comfortable, surrounded by familiar routines and cherished memories. Based in the CO postcode area, we are well positioned to reach households throughout Colchester and the surrounding communities. As a home care agency, our environment is quite literally your own front door. We believe that the best setting for care is often the place a person already calls home, whether that is a family house, a bungalow, or a flat. Our role is to fit gently into that space, respecting each household's rhythms, preferences, and personal touches whilst providing the support that makes daily life easier and safer. The care we offer is broad and thoughtfully tailored. We support older people who wish to maintain their independence, providing assistance with everything from personal care and medication reminders to companionship and help around the home. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, our team brings patience and understanding, offering consistent, familiar support that helps reduce confusion and anxiety. We also care for adults with learning disabilities and autism, working closely with each person to understand their communication style, preferences, and goals, so that our support empowers rather than restricts. Our experience extends to mental health support, where we recognise that recovery and wellbeing are deeply personal journeys. We provide steady, non judgemental care that helps individuals build confidence and structure into their days. For those living with physical disabilities, we assist with mobility, personal care, and the practical tasks that can otherwise feel overwhelming, always encouraging independence wherever possible. We also support people with visual or hearing impairments, adapting our communication and approach to ensure every client feels informed, respected, and truly heard. Younger adults are equally welcome within our care, and we understand that their needs, aspirations, and social lives differ from those of older clients, which is why our support plans are always shaped around the individual rather than a template. In practice, this means families can expect a considered, person centred approach from the very first conversation. We take time to understand not only the clinical or practical needs of each client but also the small details that make life meaningful, favourite routines, preferred meals, treasured hobbies, and the people who matter most. This attention to the whole person is what allows our clients to thrive at home, and it gives families the reassurance that their loved one is being cared for with genuine warmth. We are pleased to hold an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, following our most recent inspection in November 2022. This rating was awarded across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this consistent picture offers meaningful reassurance. It reflects a team that is not only competent and professional but also genuinely compassionate, responsive to changing needs, and guided by strong leadership. A Good rating across all five areas is a mark of care that families can trust, and it is something we work hard to build upon every day. Choosing home care is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand that it often comes at a moment of uncertainty or change. Whether you are exploring options for a parent whose needs have grown, planning ahead for a relative living with dementia, or seeking dependable support for a younger adult with complex needs, we are here to listen without pressure. We invite you to reach out to Michael Rgis Care to talk through your situation, ask questions, and learn how we might help your loved one continue living well at home in Colchester. • Home Care

We provide care at home around Billericay, Brentwood and the north of Basildon, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. People usually come to us at a point of change: a fall, a stay in hospital, a diagnosis, or the gradual realisation that managing alone has become harder than it used to be. Our job is to put enough support around that for life to carry on at home. For some people a single morning visit to help with washing, dressing and medication is enough. Others need calls through the day and into the evening, help with meals and shopping, and support to move about the house safely. We agree what is needed with the person and whoever they want involved, and we review it honestly rather than leaving an old plan in place. Continuity is what we work hardest at. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are unwell, in pain or unusually quiet, and the person is spared explaining themselves again and again. For people living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried visit does more good than anything written down. Our carers are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach a senior colleague whenever they want advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are glad to discuss that openly. If you are thinking about care at home, please get in touch.

We at Shamrock Care are proud to offer compassionate home care across Harlow and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting individuals to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area, we serve families throughout Harlow and its neighbouring villages, bringing personalised care directly to residents wherever they live. Home care allows the people we support to remain surrounded by familiar rooms, treasured possessions, and the routines that give daily life its meaning, whilst receiving the professional support they need to thrive. Whether a client lives in a bustling family home, a quiet bungalow, or sheltered accommodation, our team travels to them, adapting to their environment rather than asking them to adapt to ours. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We provide dedicated older person care for those who wish to maintain their independence as they age, offering assistance with everyday tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts, and companionship. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and understanding, recognising that consistency, gentle reassurance, and a familiar face can make an enormous difference to someone living with memory loss. For adults with physical disabilities, we tailor our approach to promote autonomy, helping with mobility, daily routines, and access to the wider community whenever possible. We also support individuals with visual and hearing impairments, adjusting our communication and care techniques so that every person feels heard, respected, and included in decisions about their own life. Recognising that care needs are not defined by age, we extend our support to younger adults too, working closely with them and their families to build care plans that reflect their goals, lifestyle, and aspirations. In practice, this means families can expect a considered, person centred approach. We take time to understand each client as an individual, their history, their preferences, and the small details that bring them comfort, before agreeing a plan of support. Loved ones are welcomed as partners in care, and we keep communication open so that families feel informed and reassured, whether they live nearby or further afield. As a newer presence with the Care Quality Commission, Shamrock Care has not yet received its first overall rating. We view this as an opportunity rather than a limitation: every visit, every conversation, and every act of care is a chance to demonstrate the standards we hold ourselves to. We welcome the scrutiny that comes with regulation and are committed to building a track record that families across Harlow can trust. If you are exploring home care for a parent, partner, or loved one in Harlow or the wider Essex area, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing care is a significant decision, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and help you understand what thoughtful, dignified support at home can look like for your family.

Independent People Homecare supports people in their own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. That is a broad range, and it reflects how varied the need is locally. Some of the people we visit want one short call a day. Others need several visits covering personal care, medication and meals, or a carer who can stay for longer. For younger adults and for people with a learning disability, our role is often less about personal care and more about making an ordinary week workable. We begin by asking what help is actually wanted rather than working from a form. People are usually clear about what they can still manage and would rather keep doing themselves, and respecting that is as much the job as the tasks we take on. Sending familiar carers is something we plan for deliberately. For people living with dementia, for autistic adults and for people with reduced sight or hearing, a known face and a predictable visit matter more than anything else we could arrange. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.

We are Mount Hill Care, and we support older people in their own homes in Harlow and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our visits range from a single short call each day through to several hours of support, arranged to fit the person's routine rather than our rota. Most of what we do is practical help with the everyday business of getting through the day: getting up and dressed, a bath or a shower, medication taken on time, a proper meal cooked, the shopping fetched, the laundry done, and getting out to appointments or into town with some company on the way. We support people living with dementia, and there continuity is everything, so we work hard to keep the same familiar care workers visiting the same households. We should be straightforward with you. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that here than let you find it elsewhere. We know what the inspectors raised with us, we are working through it, and we are willing to discuss any part of it with anybody considering our support or already receiving it. How we want to work has not changed: assess properly at home, plan with the person, keep the rota steady, and answer the phone when somebody needs us. Please get in touch.

We at Helping Hands Basildon are proud to provide compassionate home care across Wickford and the surrounding communities in Essex, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the SS postcode area, our team serves families throughout Wickford and neighbouring towns, bringing personalised support directly to residents' doorsteps. Because we deliver care in the familiar surroundings of your loved one's home, there is no need to adjust to a new environment. Instead, we work within the rhythms and routines that already bring comfort, whether that means a favourite armchair by the window, a garden they have tended for years, or a kitchen filled with memories. This approach allows people to remain close to their neighbours, community, and cherished belongings whilst receiving the professional support they need. Our care is tailored to each individual, and we support a wide range of needs. For older people, we provide the reassurance of a friendly, trained presence to help with daily routines, from morning starts and medication reminders to companionship over a cup of tea. Our dementia care is delivered with patience, warmth, and a genuine understanding of how important consistency and gentle familiarity can be for those living with memory loss. We also support adults with physical disabilities, helping with mobility, personal care, and everyday tasks in a way that respects independence and dignity. For those living with visual or hearing impairments, our carers adapt their communication and approach to ensure every person feels heard, understood, and confident in the support they receive. We also work with younger adults whose circumstances mean they benefit from tailored, respectful care at home. In practice, this means families can expect a consistent, thoughtful approach. Whether care is needed for a few hours a week or across longer visits, our aim is always to enhance quality of life, reduce worry for relatives, and build genuine relationships between carers and the people they support. We understand that inviting someone into your home is a significant decision, and we take that trust seriously. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our Care Quality Commission rating of Good, achieved across every domain assessed: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. This independent recognition, following our inspection in March 2020, offers reassurance that the care we provide meets the standards families rightly expect. Being rated Good across the board means the regulator found our practice to be safe, our support effective, our team genuinely caring, our approach responsive to individual needs, and our leadership sound. If you are exploring home care options for someone you love in Wickford or the wider Essex area, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing care is rarely easy, but you do not have to navigate it alone. Reach out to us for a warm, no pressure conversation about how we can help your family find the right support at the right time.

We are Calm Futures, based in Witham, and we provide care and support in people's own homes across Essex. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, people with physical disabilities, older people and younger adults. What we do is less about tasks than about making a life workable. That might mean personal care and help with medication, or it might mean cooking, shopping, managing money and post, keeping on top of a tenancy, or getting out to work, college, appointments and the places somebody actually wants to be. Support is planned with the person, in their own words, and it stays theirs to change. Two things matter more than anything else here. The first is consistency: the same staff wherever the rota allows, routines that hold, and changes explained in advance rather than sprung on people. For autistic people that predictability is a need rather than a preference, and we take sensory comfort seriously for the same reason. The second is doing things with somebody rather than for them, because independence is far easier to keep than to win back. For people with physical disabilities the emphasis is often on safe transfers and equipment that fits properly, alongside as much independence as somebody wants to hold on to. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are working out whether we would suit you or somebody you support, ring us and we will give you a straight answer.

Here at DCA Essex, we provide home care to people living in and around Braintree, Essex, supporting individuals to live as independently as possible in the comfort of their own homes. We work with a range of people, including younger adults, those living with a learning disability or autism, and people with physical disabilities. We know that coming into someone's home is a privilege, and we take that responsibility seriously. Every person we support has their own routines, preferences and goals, and we work hard to make sure our care reflects that. There is no one size fits all approach here. We take time to get to know each individual properly before we begin, so that the support we offer feels right for them and their family. Our team is made up of people who genuinely care about the work they do. We invest in training and make sure everyone who works with us understands the specific needs of the people we support, whether that is around communication, mobility, or day to day routines. We are always looking at how we can do things better, and we welcome honest conversations with the people we support and their loved ones. We are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the effort our whole team puts in. But we do not rest on that. We keep listening, keep learning and keep looking for ways to improve the experience of everyone who uses our care. If you are looking for home care for yourself or someone close to you in the Braintree area, we would be happy to have a conversation about how we might be able to help. South Essex Domiciliary Care supports people in their own homes in and around Basildon, Essex. We work with older people who want to carry on living independently, adults with a learning disability or autism, and younger adults who need practical support at home. Our approach is to support people to run their own lives rather than to run their lives for them. We ask what somebody wants their week to look like, what they manage well themselves and where help would make a real difference, and we build support around those answers. For some people that means assistance with personal care, medication, meals and household tasks. For others it means help to get out to work, college, clubs or family, or support to build skills around cooking, shopping and managing money. We adapt how we communicate to suit the person, and we take time to learn what helps someone feel settled and what causes them stress. Routines that fit the individual do far more good than any amount of policy. Keeping teams small matters a great deal here. People should not have to explain themselves to a new face every week, so we send carers who know the person and who are trained for the particular support they provide. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about support.

We are Glenavon Care, a home care agency based in Chelmsford and supporting adults across Essex. We visit people in their own homes, helping with what has become difficult and leaving alone what they manage perfectly well. We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities or autism, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need help with daily life. In practice that means personal care, support with medication, meals, shopping and housework, help getting out to appointments, and the company that often matters as much as any task on a care plan. Reliability is what home care is really judged on, so that is where we put our attention. Arriving when we said we would. Staying the full agreed time rather than rushing off. Knowing how somebody likes things done and doing it that way. Noticing when something has changed and telling someone who can act on it, because a change spotted early often prevents a crisis later. We try to keep the same small group of workers going to the same person, because familiarity makes all of that easier. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We at Divine Care Provider are proud to deliver compassionate home care across Colchester and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting people to live well and safely in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CO postcode area, our team works throughout Colchester and its neighbouring villages, bringing personalised support directly to the doorsteps of those who need it. Because our care is delivered in your own home, the environment remains truly yours, filled with familiar belongings, cherished memories, and the routines that make life feel settled. We adapt to your household rather than asking you to adapt to us, whether that means assisting in a quiet bungalow, a family home, or a flat in the heart of town. Our specialisms are broad because the needs of the people we support are wonderfully varied. We provide older person care with warmth and patience, recognising that later life should be met with dignity rather than diminished independence. For those living with dementia, we offer calm, consistent support that helps reduce anxiety and preserves a sense of self, whilst giving families the reassurance that a knowledgeable carer is close at hand. We support adults living with mental health conditions, helping to maintain stability, routine, and connection to the wider community. For people with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments, we tailor our approach so that communication, mobility, and daily tasks are supported in the ways that suit each individual best. We also work with younger adults, understanding that care at any age should feel enabling rather than restrictive. In practice, this means our care plans are shaped around the person, not the diagnosis. Families can expect open conversations, gentle problem solving, and support that flexes as circumstances change, whether that is following a hospital discharge, adjusting to a new condition, or simply needing a little more help than before. We know that reaching out for care is a significant step, and we try to make that step feel supported from the very first conversation. Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out in October 2020, awarded us an overall rating of Good, with Good ratings in the Safe, Caring, and Well-led domains. This reflects our commitment to keeping people safe, treating them with kindness, and running a well-organised team that families can rely on. The inspection also identified areas where we were asked to strengthen further, in the Effective and Responsive domains, and we have taken that feedback seriously as a genuine opportunity to grow. Continuous improvement is part of how we work, and we welcome the honesty that regulation brings. If you are exploring home care for a loved one in Colchester, we understand how much thought and feeling goes into that search. We would be very glad to speak with you, answer your questions without pressure, and help you consider whether our support might be the right fit for your family. Whatever you decide, we wish you clarity and peace of mind as you take the next step.

We provide care at home in Braintree and across Essex and into London. The people we support include older people, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairments and people living with eating disorders. Needs that varied cannot be met from a standard package, so we ask before we plan. For an older person, help often centres on personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house manageable. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, handling money and keeping appointments. Where somebody is living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried carer does more good than anything written down. Continuity is the part of this work that matters most, and it is the part that is hardest to get right. We try to send the same carers to the same households, because that is what allows somebody to notice when a person is unwell or not themselves. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it later. We are working through the points the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering us. We at Wilson's Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Chelmsford and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting people to live well and safely in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area, our team works throughout Chelmsford and its neighbouring villages, bringing personalised care directly to residents across this vibrant part of Essex. Being a home care agency means the environment we serve in is your own front room, your own kitchen, your own garden. There is no relocation, no unfamiliar surroundings, and no disruption to the daily rhythms that bring you comfort. Instead, our carers travel to you, fitting gently into the household you have built over a lifetime, whilst respecting your routines, your preferences, and your independence. Our care covers a broad spectrum of needs, allowing us to support individuals at many different stages of life. For older people, we offer thoughtful assistance with the everyday tasks that can gradually become more demanding, from personal care and medication reminders to companionship and help around the home. For those living with dementia, our approach is patient, familiar, and reassuring, helping to reduce anxiety by maintaining a steady presence and consistent routines that make each day feel manageable. Families often tell us how much peace of mind it brings to know a trusted carer is visiting a loved one whose memory is changing. We also support adults with physical disabilities, working closely with each person to understand how they wish to be assisted, whether that involves mobility support, help with daily living, or simply a reliable companion who understands their needs. For residents with visual or hearing impairments, we adapt our communication and our approach to ensure every interaction feels clear, respectful, and unhurried. And because care is not solely the concern of older adults, we also work with younger adults who benefit from tailored support to live independently and confidently in their own homes. What this looks like in practice is care shaped entirely around the individual. There is no single template. Some people need a short visit each morning to help start the day well; others benefit from several calls throughout the day, or longer periods of companionship and practical help. Families are welcomed as partners in the care journey, and we take time to listen to what matters most, whether that is a particular way of preparing a cup of tea, a favourite walk, a beloved pet, or a treasured routine. The goal is always the same: to protect dignity, encourage independence, and bring warmth into every visit. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our latest Care Quality Commission inspection, where we were rated Good overall. We also achieved a Good rating across all five key domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this consistency is significant. It reflects an organisation that not only delivers kind and attentive care, but does so within a well managed framework where safety, responsiveness, and effectiveness are all held to the same high standard. A Good rating across every category is a reassuring signal that the care you receive is dependable, thoughtful, and built on sound practice. We understand that reaching out for home care can feel like a significant step, and often an emotional one. Whether you are exploring options for yourself, a parent, a partner, or another loved one, we want the process to feel supportive rather than daunting. Every family's situation is unique, and we are always happy to talk things through, answer questions, and help you consider what kind of support might make the biggest difference. If you are considering home care in Chelmsford or the wider Essex area, we would be delighted to hear from you and to explore how we might help your family find the right path forward with confidence and calm.

Here at Chenai Holistic Home Care Agency in Chelmsford, Essex, we provide care and support to people in the comfort of their own homes. We believe that staying at home, surrounded by familiar things and routines, makes a real difference to how people feel, and our role is to make that possible for as many people as we can. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older people, younger adults, and those living with dementia, physical disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, and eating disorders. Every person we support has their own story, their own preferences, and their own way of doing things, and we take the time to get to know what matters most to each individual before we do anything else. Our approach is genuinely holistic. We look at the whole person rather than just a list of care needs, considering their wellbeing, their independence, and their relationships with the people around them. We work closely with families and other professionals to make sure that the support we provide fits naturally into someone's life rather than disrupting it. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a rating of Good across our service. That outcome reflects the consistent effort our team puts in every single day, and it gives the people we support and their families confidence that they are in safe and capable hands. If you are looking for care for yourself or for someone close to you, we would love to have a conversation. There is no pressure and no obligation. We simply want to understand what you need and explain honestly how we might be able to help. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us here in Chelmsford. We are always happy to talk.

    • Home Care

North London Homecare and Support provides care at home for people in Harlow and the surrounding part of Essex. The people we visit include older people, many of them living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, people managing mental health conditions and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. With a range that wide we do not pretend one approach suits everybody. We spend real time at the start understanding how somebody lives, what they want help with and what they would rather keep doing themselves, and we then think carefully about which carer suits which person. Once a good match is working we protect it, keeping the same small team going to the same person. Visits can cover personal care and medication, cooking, shopping and housework, support to get out into the community, or company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. Some people need one short call a day and others need several, or support overnight. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. That judgement came largely from what the people we visit and their families told the inspectors, which is the opinion that counts. We do not treat it as finished business, because standards slip quietly wherever nobody keeps looking, and we still ask every family whether we are getting it right. If you would like to discuss care at home, please get in touch.

    • Home Care

Waterside Home Care supports adults in their own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and younger adults. Most households find us at a point of change. A fall, a hospital stay, a diagnosis, or the slow arrival of the moment when carrying on unaided stops making sense. Our first task then is to reduce the pressure without taking the place over. We pick up what has become hard and deliberately leave what somebody still manages, because capability removed for convenience is very hard to get back. Practically that means help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, moving safely around the house, laundry, shopping, appointments and time to talk properly. Some households want a single weekly visit, others need four calls a day, and both are ordinary work for us. For people living with dementia we hold to the same carers and the same times as far as the rota allows, and we follow the routines already in place rather than substituting neater ones. Where mental health is part of the picture we keep to what we have agreed and we are steady when weeks are difficult. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We treat that as something to keep proving and we keep asking the households we visit what needs to change.

We at Faith Home Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Chelmsford and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting individuals to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area, our team works throughout Chelmsford and the wider region, bringing personalised support directly to residents wherever they call home. Being a home care agency means we come to you, whether that is a family house, a bungalow, or sheltered accommodation, adapting our approach to fit seamlessly into each person's daily life, routines, and familiar surroundings. There is no need to move away from treasured neighbourhoods, gardens, or nearby loved ones. Our care is deliberately broad in scope because we believe every individual deserves support tailored to their unique circumstances. We provide older person care and dementia care, working patiently and respectfully with those living with memory loss to maintain dignity, reassurance, and quality of life. For younger adults and those with learning disabilities or autism, we focus on building confidence, encouraging independence, and supporting meaningful daily activities. Our team also assists people living with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments, adjusting communication and practical support to what works best for each person. In addition, we offer sensitive, non judgemental support for individuals affected by alcohol or drug misuse, recognising that recovery and stability are deeply personal journeys. In practice, this breadth of specialism means families can trust that whatever changes life may bring, whether a new diagnosis, a shift in mobility, or a period of increased vulnerability, the same familiar carers can continue to provide consistent support. For relatives, particularly those balancing work, distance, or their own responsibilities, this continuity brings enormous peace of mind. The Care Quality Commission has rated Faith Home Care as Good overall, with Good ratings across all five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. Following the inspection in February 2022, this consistent Good rating reflects our ongoing commitment to safe practice, effective outcomes, genuine compassion, responsive support, and thoughtful leadership. For families, a Good rating across every domain offers meaningful reassurance that the care their loved one receives meets recognised national standards. Choosing home care is a significant decision, and we understand the questions and concerns that come with it. If you are exploring support for yourself or a family member in Chelmsford or the surrounding Essex area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Our team is happy to talk through your situation without pressure, listen to what matters most to you, and help you consider whether our support could be the right fit. Whatever you decide, you are not alone in this, and we are here to help you find the way forward.

We provide support in people's own homes in Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people who need help with daily living, with younger adults, with people who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people living with mental health conditions and with people who have a physical disability. Day to day that means personal care, medication support, meal preparation, help getting out and about and, for some people, support to run a household, keep appointments and stay connected to the people and activities that matter to them. The balance is different for everyone, which is why we plan with the person rather than handing them a standard package. We will be straightforward about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are working through the points raised, with changes to supervision, record keeping and the way we check that visits are delivered as planned. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you come across it elsewhere, and we are happy to talk in detail about what has changed since. The people we support and their families are part of that work, because they are the ones who know whether things are genuinely better. If you are considering care at home in the Colchester area, please get in touch and ask us anything.

    • Home Care

We at MTS Healthcare are proud to offer trusted home care across Basildon and the wider Essex area, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. As a dedicated home care provider serving the SS postcode region, we bring compassionate, person centred support directly to your doorstep. Because we deliver care within the community, our environment is shaped by yours. Whether you live in a family home in Basildon, a bungalow on a quiet residential street, or a flat closer to the town centre, our role is to fit seamlessly into your daily surroundings. We understand how important familiar spaces, treasured belongings, and established routines are to wellbeing, and we tailor our visits to complement the rhythm of your household rather than disrupt it. Our team travels across Basildon and the surrounding Essex neighbourhoods, ensuring reliable, consistent support wherever home may be. Our care specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We provide dedicated support for older people who wish to remain independent at home, offering everything from companionship and help with daily tasks to more comprehensive personal care. For families navigating a diagnosis of dementia, our approach is patient, calm, and gently reassuring, focusing on preserving dignity, encouraging familiar routines, and creating moments of connection each day. We also support adults living with physical disabilities, helping with mobility, personal care, and the practical elements of daily life in a way that promotes confidence and autonomy. Alongside this, we care for individuals with visual or hearing impairments, adapting our communication and support to ensure every person feels understood, respected, and fully involved in decisions about their own care. We extend our support to younger adults too, recognising that care needs do not follow a set age and that every individual deserves tailored, thoughtful assistance to live life on their own terms. In practice, this means care plans built around the person rather than the condition, and a team that takes time to truly know those we support, along with the families who love them. As a newer registered provider, MTS Healthcare has not yet received a formal CQC rating. Whilst we look forward to our first inspection, we remain fully committed to the standards and principles that the Care Quality Commission expects: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led support. Families can be reassured that our practice is built on these foundations from day one, and we welcome open conversations about how we work, so you can feel confident in the choice you are making. Choosing home care is a deeply personal decision, and we understand the weight that comes with it. If you are exploring options for yourself or a loved one in Basildon or across Essex, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We would be glad to listen, answer your questions, and talk through how we might help your family feel supported, safe, and truly at home.

Alina Homecare Epping and Loughton supports people in their own homes across Loughton, Epping and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people who want to stay independent, adults living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and younger adults who need practical support at home. Home care only works when it fits the person, so we start by listening rather than by offering a package. We ask how someone likes their day to run, what they still manage perfectly well themselves and where a hand would genuinely help, then we write that down in plain language and follow it. As needs change we review and adjust rather than carrying on regardless. Visits can cover personal care, medication, preparing meals, household tasks, shopping, getting to appointments and simply spending time with someone. Some people want one short call a day. Others need support several times a day. We keep the team around each person small. A familiar carer at a predictable hour is worth far more than a perfectly efficient rota, particularly for someone living with dementia, and familiar carers notice when something has changed. Our staff are trained for the needs they actually meet and are properly supervised. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk through what support could look like.

Jadee's Nursing Agency provides care and support in people's own homes in Colchester and across Essex. We visit older people, adults living with dementia or mental health conditions, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and younger adults living independently. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Every arrangement we make starts with a proper conversation in the person's own home. We want to understand what the day currently looks like, where it goes wrong and what would make the biggest difference. Some people need a single visit each morning to get washed, dressed and fed properly. Others need several calls covering medication, meals, personal care and company, and some need support to get out and keep up with the things they enjoy. We plan rounds so that people see familiar carers rather than a procession of strangers, and we introduce anyone new properly. Carers complete training before working unsupervised and are supported by senior staff who carry out supervision, spot checks and reviews. When someone's needs change we say so and we adjust, and if we believe a different kind of support would serve someone better we will tell you that honestly even though it may not suit us. If you would like to discuss what care might look like for you or a relative, please get in touch and we will arrange to visit at a time that suits.

    • Home Care

Symbolic Care Group provides support in people's own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We fit around the household that is already there, at the times of day when help actually makes a difference. We support older people with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping, housework and getting out and about, and we sit with people who would otherwise spend the day alone. We work with people living with dementia, where the same familiar carers and an unchanging routine do most of the work. We also support people with a learning disability and autistic people, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults building the confidence and skills to run their own lives. Two things govern how we operate. Calls are planned with enough time in them to be done properly, and we keep the same small group of carers going to the same person. Rushed, unfamiliar care is the root of most complaints in this industry, and we would rather avoid the cause than manage the consequences. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, so we would rather you asked us direct questions than looked for a badge. How do we recruit, train and supervise our carers, what happens when a visit runs late, and who can you reach at the weekend? Contact us and we will answer plainly.

Arranging and funding home care in Essex

What the assessment establishes

Funding and provider choice are separate decisions, and they are easier taken in that order. A care needs assessment sets out what someone can manage alone, what they cannot, and what support would close the gap, and anyone who appears to need care is entitled to one whatever their savings. Essex County Council carries out that assessment and the financial assessment that follows, and arranges funded support where a person qualifies. The written outcome is useful even to families who expect to pay for everything themselves, because it converts a vague sense that something must change into a specific list of visits and tasks that an agency can quote against. A relative providing unpaid support can ask for a carer's assessment in their own right at the same time.

The cost of an hour

Care at home is priced by the hour, with shorter calls charged proportionately and higher rates usual at weekends, on bank holidays and through the night. Where support is funded, the national means test decides the contribution, and anyone holding capital above the upper threshold arranges and pays for care privately. Funded support may arrive as an arranged service or as a direct payment, which hands you the choice of agency and the shape of the rota. Attendance allowance sits outside the means test altogether and is worth claiming whatever else is in place. Before agreeing a start date, ask for a full rate card in writing, including travel charges, bank holiday rates and the notice period on both sides.

Choosing between home care agencies in Essex

Whether the rounds actually reach the door

An agency registered to work in Essex is not necessarily an agency that will travel to your relative's address, because rounds are built around clusters of clients and travel time between them. Ask about coverage and available time slots in the very first call, since an agency that can only offer a late morning visit when help is needed at seven in the morning is not a real option however well it is rated. Work out in advance how many calls a day are needed, at what times, and what has to happen during each one. That preparation turns a listing of 475 agencies into a shortlist of a few.

Reading an inspection report on an agency

The Care Quality Commission inspects a home care agency as an organisation rather than as a building, so its rating reflects recruitment and training, medication handling, how calls are scheduled and covered, and how complaints are answered. Agencies here hold Outstanding, Good and Requires Improvement ratings, and some carry none at all because they registered too recently to be inspected. An unrated agency is not automatically a weak one, but there is no independent judgement to lean on, so ask harder questions and request references. Where a report exists, the sections on safety and responsiveness usually tell you more than the overall word.

The questions that draw out honest answers

Ask how many different carers will visit across a typical fortnight, because continuity affects daily life more than anything printed in a brochure. Ask what happens when a carer is delayed or off sick, and whether anyone tells the family. Ask how visits are logged, whether relatives can see those records, and how medication support is signed off. Ask how a package can be increased if needs change, and how quickly. An agency confident in its own service answers all of that without hesitation.

Frequently asked questions about home care in Essex

How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Essex?

Contact the adult social care team at Essex County Council and ask for a care needs assessment. Anyone who appears to need care and support is entitled to one regardless of income or savings, and you can make the request on a relative's behalf. A practitioner will look at daily tasks, mobility, medication and safety, then set out what support would meet the need. A financial assessment is carried out separately to establish who pays for what.

Will Essex County Council contribute towards home care?

It depends on the outcome of the needs assessment and the financial assessment taken together. Essex County Council applies the national means test, so capital above the upper threshold means funding care privately, while capital below it can bring a contribution towards the cost. Where care is funded, a direct payment is often available so that you can choose the agency yourself rather than accept an arranged service. Attendance allowance is not means tested and can be claimed alongside any of these arrangements.

Which agencies provide home care in Essex?

475 agencies registered to deliver care in people's own homes are listed for Essex. They include national providers running local branches as well as small independent agencies covering only a few towns. Coverage is the first thing to establish, because registration in the county does not guarantee that an agency's rounds reach a particular address. Each entry links to a profile showing the Care Quality Commission rating and the inspection findings behind it.

How does home care compare with moving into a care home?

Home care brings a carer to the door for planned visits while your relative stays in their own house with their routine, neighbours and belongings around them. A residential care home provides accommodation with support available through the day and night, and a nursing home adds registered nurses on site for clinical needs. Home care suits people whose needs fall at predictable points in the day and can be increased gradually as circumstances change. Where someone needs supervision around the clock, a residential setting is usually the more realistic option.

How early should a family start looking for an agency in Essex?

A few weeks is usually enough to compare agencies, arrange an assessment and let a package start gently rather than at full strength. Beginning early leaves room to trial a small number of visits and build on them as needs become clearer. When care is required on discharge from hospital the timescale shrinks to days, and a temporary package may be arranged for you while longer term choices are made. Nothing about that first arrangement is fixed, so treat it as a starting point.

What should I ask an agency before agreeing to a care package?

Ask how many different carers will come in a typical fortnight and whether the same people return, since continuity matters more than almost anything else. Ask how late or missed calls are handled and whether the family is told at the time. Ask how visits are recorded, whether relatives can see the records, and how medication is documented. Ask about minimum call lengths, notice periods and charges for travel or bank holidays, and ask for the answers in writing.
