Home Care in Essex 475 home care agencies · 270 rated Good by CQC

- 29 Requires improvement
- 2 Inadequate

Support delivered inside a person's own home is what all 475 home care agencies listed for Essex have in common, though very little else about them is identical. Ratings across that group include Outstanding and Good, alongside agencies rated Requires Improvement and others holding no rating because the Care Quality Commission has not yet inspected them. Essex County Council is responsible for the care needs assessment that establishes what help is required and how often, and for the financial assessment that determines how much of the cost is met from public funds rather than by the family. Either can be requested regardless of income or savings. Because agencies build their rounds around geography, registration in the county is no guarantee that a particular street is covered, so ask that question before anything else. Then open the profile of each agency still under consideration, read the inspection report that lies behind its rating, and let the findings there decide which one you approach first.

Annies Homecare supports people in their own homes in Mayland and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory loss and eating disorders. We assess at home, with whoever the person wants present, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. The plan is agreed rather than issued and it changes when circumstances do. Support may be a single short call each day, visits at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. Where somebody is living with an eating disorder we are patient at mealtimes, we do not make a performance of it, and we record what is actually eaten rather than what was offered. In a rural area, rounds have to be planned so carers are not racing between villages and visits have to be long enough to be worth having. We keep our patch tight so those are realistic. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.

Our team delivers personalised care that adapts to each individual's needs, routines and preferences. Whether you live in a bustling neighbourhood or a quieter corner of the county, our carers travel to you, bringing continuity, warmth and reliability to every visit. Our specialisms cover a broad spectrum of needs, allowing us to support a wide range of individuals and families. For older people, we offer gentle assistance with everyday tasks, companionship and help maintaining independence. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and understanding, focusing on familiar routines that bring comfort and reduce anxiety for both the person receiving care and their loved ones. We also support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, tailoring our approach so that each person feels heard, respected and empowered to make choices about their own life. For those managing mental health challenges, we provide steady, non judgemental support that promotes wellbeing and stability. Our care for people with physical disabilities focuses on practical assistance, mobility support and preserving dignity in every interaction. We are also experienced in supporting individuals with visual or hearing impairments, adapting how we communicate and assist so that no one feels isolated by their condition. Younger adults are equally welcomed, with support shaped around their goals, aspirations and lifestyle rather than assumptions about what care should look like. In practice, this breadth of expertise means families can rely on us as needs evolve over time. Whether you require a short daily visit, more intensive support, or specialist care for a complex condition, our team works closely with you and your loved ones to build a plan that feels right. We believe good home care is not simply about tasks completed; it is about the trust, kindness and consistency that carers bring to each visit. Intrigue Homecare holds an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, following their most recent inspection in May 2021. We achieved a Good rating across every domain assessed: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well led. For families, this independent recognition offers reassurance that our care meets the standards expected by the national regulator, and that our approach to safety, leadership and responsiveness has been reviewed and endorsed. We remain committed to building on these foundations, continually listening to those we support and refining how we work. Choosing home care for yourself or a family member is a significant decision, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options in Colchester or elsewhere in Essex, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Our team is happy to answer your questions, talk through what support might look like and help you feel confident about the next steps. Whatever your situation, you will find a friendly voice ready to listen, and a team dedicated to helping your loved one live well at home.

Here at DJ Kares, we provide home care in Basildon, Essex, supporting people to live as independently and comfortably as possible in their own homes. We believe that familiar surroundings make an enormous difference to a person's wellbeing, and our role is to make staying at home a genuine, sustainable option for the people we work with. We support a range of individuals including older adults, younger adults and people living with physical disabilities. Each person we care for has their own routines, preferences and priorities, and we take time to understand what matters most to them before any care begins. A care plan that fits around someone's life rather than the other way round simply leads to better outcomes, and that is the approach we take. Our team works across Basildon and the surrounding areas, visiting people in their own homes to provide the practical and personal support they need. Whether that means helping with daily routines, supporting mobility or simply being a consistent and reliable presence, we try to make every visit count. We know that for many people, our team members may be among the few people they see regularly, and we take that responsibility seriously. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and we welcome the scrutiny that regulation brings. It keeps us focused and accountable, and we think that is right and proper when people are trusting us with their care. If you are looking into home care options for yourself or someone you care about, we would encourage you to get in touch and have a conversation with us. There is no pressure and no obligation. We are straightforward people who want to do a good job, and we are always happy to talk through what support might look like for your situation.

- Home Care
Your Life Care Solutions supports people in their own homes in Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our work is chiefly with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, including younger adults who are building the life they want rather than winding one down. That focus shapes everything. Support here is not about doing things for people. It is about doing things with them, and gradually doing less as somebody becomes surer of themselves. For one person that might mean help with cooking, budgeting and keeping on top of post. For another it might mean going along to a college course or an appointment until it feels manageable alone, then stepping back. For a third it might be steady help with personal care so that the rest of the day is free for something better. We take communication seriously as a skill in its own right. Some of the people we support use words, some use signs, symbols or a device, and some tell us what they think through how they behave. We make it our business to learn each person's way rather than expecting them to learn ours. Families and circles of support are welcome in the conversation whenever the person wants them there, and firmly outside it when they do not. It is their life. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Do get in touch if you would like to talk about support.

Our care is thoughtfully tailored to meet a wide range of needs. We support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, offering understanding and structure that helps individuals feel safe and empowered. For those experiencing mental health challenges, we provide sensitive, consistent support that respects each person's journey. We also care for people with physical disabilities, as well as those with visual or hearing impairments, adapting our communication and assistance to suit each individual. Younger adults are welcomed too, with care shaped around their aspirations, routines, and lifestyle rather than a one size fits all approach. In practice, this means our carers take the time to truly know each person we support. From help with personal care, medication, and mobility, to companionship, meal preparation, and encouragement with hobbies or community activities, every visit is centred on dignity, choice, and wellbeing. Families can take comfort knowing their relative is in capable, considerate hands, with open communication keeping loved ones informed and involved. Quinn Domiciliary Agency was rated Good by the Care Quality Commission at our most recent inspection in February 2023, achieving a Good rating across all five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. This consistent recognition reflects our commitment to safe practice, skilled and attentive care, genuine warmth, responsiveness to changing needs, and strong leadership behind the scenes. If you are exploring home care options for yourself or a family member in Maldon, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Choosing the right support can feel daunting, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and help you feel confident about the next step. We at Nema Home Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Buckhurst Hill and the surrounding Essex community, supporting individuals to live well and safely in the place they know best — their own home. Based in the heart of Buckhurst Hill within the IG postcode area, our team is ideally positioned to reach families throughout this corner of Essex and the wider East region. Because care is delivered in your own home, the environment that matters most is yours: the familiar surroundings, the cherished routines, and the personal touches that make a house feel like home. Our role is to support that environment, never to replace it, working quietly and respectfully alongside the rhythms of your daily life. The care we provide is shaped around the individual, and we welcome enquiries from people with a wide range of needs. We support older people who simply want a helping hand to maintain their independence, as well as younger adults who require tailored assistance to live full and meaningful lives. Our experience extends to dementia care, where consistency, patience, and gentle reassurance can make an enormous difference to both the person living with the condition and their loved ones. We also support individuals with learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and those living with visual or hearing impairments. In practice, this means our care is never one size fits all. For one family, our visits might focus on personal care, medication prompts, and a friendly chat over a cup of tea. For another, support might centre on enabling a younger adult to pursue their interests, attend appointments, or build confidence in the community. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, we offer the kind of steady, familiar presence that helps reduce anxiety and brings calm to the day. Whatever the need, our aim is to listen first, plan carefully, and deliver care that genuinely reflects the person at its centre. We understand that inviting carers into your home is a significant step, and trust matters enormously. That is why we are pleased to share that Nema Home Care has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission following our most recent inspection in August 2023. This Good rating was awarded across all five key areas the CQC examines: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. For families, that means independent assurance that our care is delivered safely, that it achieves good outcomes, that our team is kind and considerate, that our support adapts to changing needs, and that the organisation behind it all is thoughtfully managed. Choosing care for yourself or someone you love is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and you should never feel rushed or alone in making it. If you are exploring home care options in Buckhurst Hill or the wider Essex area, we would be delighted to hear from you, answer your questions, and talk through how we might help. Please do reach out whenever you are ready — we are here to listen.

- Home Care
All About U Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Chelmsford and the surrounding parts of Essex. We think the best care is the sort that fits so naturally into a household that it barely feels like a service at all. Most of our work is with older adults, helping with personal care, medication, meals, shopping and the practical tasks that have become harder over time. We also support people living with dementia, where continuity matters more than anything else. A carer who already knows the routines, the house and the family can steady a difficult morning in a way that a stranger simply cannot. We support younger adults too, where our role is usually to back somebody's independence rather than to manage it. Every arrangement starts with listening. We agree what would genuinely help, write it down with the person and review it as things change. We keep families informed, and if we have a concern about someone we say so promptly rather than leaving it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that, and we treat it as the standard we are expected to keep meeting. If you are thinking about care at home in the Chelmsford area, please get in touch. We are happy to visit, answer your questions and be honest about what we can offer.

At Crystal Social Care, we provide home care to people living in Brentwood, Essex and the surrounding areas. We work with older adults, younger adults living with physical disabilities, and people affected by dementia, supporting each person in the place that matters most to them — their own home. We understand that inviting someone into your home, or into the home of someone you love, is a significant decision. That is why we take time at the outset to understand what genuinely matters to each person, not just their care needs on paper, but how they like their day to run, what they enjoy, and how they want to be treated. From there we build support around the individual rather than fitting people into a fixed routine. Our team works across a range of support, from companionship and help with daily tasks through to more specialist care for people living with dementia or managing a physical disability. We know that needs change over time, and we stay in close contact with the people we support and their families so that our care moves with those changes rather than falling behind them. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us as Good. That outcome reflects the everyday work of our team and the relationships they build with the people they care for. We do not take that lightly. If you are exploring home care options for yourself or for a family member in Brentwood or nearby, we are happy to have an honest conversation about what is possible and whether we might be the right fit. There is no pressure and no obligation. We simply want to help people get the right support in place so they can continue living well at home.

De Vere Care Partnership provides care in people's own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We support older people, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, adults with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Home care works when it fits the person rather than the rota. Some of those we support need a short call in the morning to help with washing, dressing and medication. Others need several visits a day, or longer support that keeps a tenancy going, gets somebody to appointments and helps them stay connected to the people around them. We agree what is genuinely wanted at the outset and review it properly as circumstances change. Continuity is what makes the difference in this work, so we keep the same small group of carers going to the same person wherever we can. Personal care is easier to accept from somebody you know, and a familiar carer notices quickly when a person is not themselves. We should be open about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We accept that judgement and are working through the points raised with us. If you are considering us, please ask about it directly and we will give you a straight answer.

Novus Care in Wickford provides care and support to people in their own homes across this part of Essex. We work with adults living with dementia or with mental ill health, people with a learning disability, people who are autistic, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, people living with an eating disorder, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use. That range reflects how people actually are. Somebody may need help with personal care and also be managing their mental health, or may be rebuilding independence after a difficult period. We look at the whole picture and we plan support with the person rather than handing them a standard package. Support can include personal care, assistance with medication, meals, help around the home, and support to get out to appointments, groups, work or family. For some people the most valuable thing we offer is a dependable presence while they get through a bad stretch, with hours that come down again as they recover. We are careful about who we send and we keep teams consistent, because this work relies on trust and trust takes time. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Tallulah Care provides support to people in their own homes in Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults who need a hand to manage day to day, and our purpose is to make staying at home a realistic option for as long as somebody wants it. We are a local team, and the people we visit are our neighbours. That matters more than it might sound, because it means we plan our rounds sensibly, we turn up when we have said we will, and we notice when something is not quite right. A carer who knows somebody well can tell the difference between a quiet morning and a worrying one. The support itself is agreed in advance and shaped around the person. It might be help to get up, wash and dress, prompting or assisting with medication, preparing meals and drinks, laundry and housework, help to move safely around the home, or getting out to the shops and to appointments. For many of the people we visit, company is a large part of the value of a call, and we do not treat conversation as the first thing to be cut when time is short. We write the plan down so that everyone knows what has been arranged, and we review it as needs change. Our carers are trained and supervised properly, and we keep the same people visiting the same homes. If you are looking into care at home in Colchester, please call us.

We at Forest Homecare Mid & West Essex are proud to provide compassionate home care to individuals and families across Chelmsford and the surrounding communities of Essex. As a dedicated home care agency, we bring professional, person centred support directly to the place people love most: their own home. Operating throughout the Chelmsford area and the wider CM postcode region, we understand that familiar surroundings play a vital role in wellbeing. Our team travels to each person we support, delivering care within the comfort of their own living room, kitchen and garden, allowing routines, treasured possessions and neighbourhood connections to remain at the heart of daily life. Whether someone lives in a quiet village on the outskirts or in the bustle of the city centre, our care comes to them. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. We provide older person care for those who simply need a little extra help to maintain their independence, alongside specialist dementia care delivered with patience, warmth and a deep understanding of how memory loss affects both the individual and their loved ones. We also support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities and sensory impairments including visual and hearing loss. Our care extends to younger adults too, recognising that meaningful, tailored support is important at every stage of life. In practice, this means our visits are shaped entirely around the person. For one family, that might involve gentle morning assistance with washing, dressing and breakfast. For another, it could be companionship calls, medication prompts, support with appointments, or more comprehensive care throughout the day. We take time to understand preferences, life history and goals, so that every interaction feels respectful rather than routine. Families tell us that knowing a trusted carer is on the way brings genuine peace of mind, particularly when relatives live further afield or are balancing caring responsibilities with work. The Care Quality Commission rated our agency Good across every domain at our most recent inspection in May 2024, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well led. This consistent rating reflects the standards we hold ourselves to every single day: safe practice, effective outcomes, genuine kindness, responsive support that adapts as needs change, and strong, accountable leadership behind the scenes. Choosing care for someone you love can feel overwhelming, and we understand the questions and worries that come with it. If you are exploring home care options in Chelmsford or anywhere across mid and west Essex, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We are here to listen, answer your questions honestly, and help you find the right way forward, whether that begins with a single conversation or a full assessment of needs.

Home Instead in Basildon is a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across the town and the surrounding parts of Essex. We visit older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and adults with a learning disability or who are autistic. Most people would far rather stay where they are, with their own things and their own routine, and our job is to make that practical for as long as it can be. Visits might cover help getting up in the morning or settling at night, washing and dressing, medicines, meals and drinks, keeping on top of the house, or company and support to get out to appointments and to see people. We agree what each visit covers with the person, involving family where they want that, and we change the plan when needs change rather than letting it fall behind real life. We would always rather support somebody to do something themselves than take it over because it is quicker. Familiar faces matter more than almost anything else in this work. A carer who knows a household notices when things are not quite right, and that early notice often prevents something more serious. If we are running late, we ring. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to talk through what support at home might look like, please get in touch.

At All Aboard House, we provide home care to people living in Epping and the surrounding areas of Essex. We come to you, supporting you in the place that matters most: your own home, surrounded by your own things, your own routines and the people you love. We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults living with physical disabilities, and those affected by dementia. We also support people with visual and hearing impairments, and we take time to understand what each person actually needs rather than offering a one size fits all approach. Every individual who comes to us has a different story, and we think that deserves proper attention. Home care means something different to everyone. For some people it is a little help with daily tasks so they can carry on living independently. For others it is more involved, hands on support that makes remaining at home a realistic and comfortable choice. Whatever that looks like for you or your loved one, we want to get it right. We know that inviting someone into your home takes trust, and we do not take that lightly. Our aim is to build genuine relationships with the people we support and their families, so that care feels consistent and familiar rather than like a revolving door of unfamiliar faces. Being based locally in Epping means we understand the community we work within. We are not a distant organisation operating from afar. We are your neighbours, and that matters to us. If you are thinking about home care for yourself or someone close to you and you are not sure where to start, please do get in touch. From a quiet residential street to a bustling family household, our carers arrive ready to support each person with warmth, respect, and dignity. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we support. In practice, this means families can expect care that is genuinely personal. Whether it is help with morning routines, medication reminders, mobility support, companionship, or more complex care needs, we work closely with each household to build a plan that feels right. Families often tell us that having reliable, familiar carers brings enormous peace of mind, knowing their relative is treated with kindness and that someone trusted is checking in. Our most recent CQC inspection in October 2022 rated us as Requires Improvement overall, with Good ratings across the Safe, Caring, and Well-led domains, and Requires Improvement in the Effective and Responsive areas. We view these findings honestly and constructively. The strengths recognised by the CQC, particularly around safety, our caring approach, and the leadership of the team, reflect the values we hold dear every day. Where improvements have been identified, we are committed to listening, learning, and strengthening our practice so that every person we support receives care of the highest standard. Transparency matters to us, and we welcome open conversations with families about how we are developing. Choosing home care is a deeply personal decision, and we know how much thought and love goes into finding the right support for someone you care about. If you are exploring options in Basildon or across Essex, we would be delighted to talk with you, answer your questions, and explore how we might help. Please reach out at a time that suits you, and let us walk alongside your family with the compassion and care your loved one deserves.

- Home Care
Safehands Live In Care is a home care provider based in Brentwood, Essex. Live in care is the particular thing we do, and it suits people whose needs have grown beyond a few visits a day but who do not want to leave their own home. Having someone in the house means support is there when it is needed rather than only at booked times, and it means a person keeps their own bed, their own kitchen and their own routines. We support older people, people living with dementia, autistic adults and adults with a learning disability, people with a physical disability and younger adults. Live in care asks a lot of the match between carer and person, so we take that seriously. It is not only about skills. It is about whether two people can share a home comfortably, and we would rather spend longer getting that right than place someone quickly and have it unravel. For people living with dementia, the familiarity of home and of one consistent carer is often worth more than anything else we could offer. We stay in close touch with families, arrange proper cover so a carer gets real rest, and review arrangements honestly when needs change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

CA Case Management provides care and support in people's own homes in Saffron Walden and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our work is arranged around the life somebody already leads, and the aim is to make staying at home a realistic option rather than a hope. We support older adults with the everyday things that have become harder: personal care, medication, meals, keeping the house in order and getting out safely when they want to. We also support people with physical disabilities, helping with washing, dressing, mobility and getting out into the world, and doing it in a way that leaves the person deciding how things are done rather than having that decided for them. We support younger adults too, whose weeks are usually built around work, study, family or plans of their own, and whose support should fit around those things rather than take them over. We keep the team around each person as small and consistent as we can manage, because familiarity is what allows trust to build and changes to be noticed early, often before anybody else would see them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us and ask us in detail how we would approach supporting you or your relative.

- Home Care
We at Unibekk Care are proud to offer compassionate home care across Basildon and the surrounding communities of Essex, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Basildon sits at the heart of everything we do. As a home care provider covering the SS postcode area and wider parts of Essex, we bring our support directly to the doorsteps of the people we care for. There is no unfamiliar building to adjust to, no packing of belongings, and no leaving behind of treasured routines. Instead, our team travels to you, whether you live in a quiet residential street, a bustling town centre flat, or a village on the outskirts of Basildon. This means the comfort of familiar surroundings, favourite chairs, garden views, and beloved neighbours remain a constant part of daily life. Our care is shaped around the individual, and we support a broad range of needs. For older people, we offer gentle, respectful assistance with the everyday tasks that can become more challenging over time, from personal care and medication support to companionship and help around the home. For those living with dementia, we provide patient, understanding care that focuses on preserving dignity, encouraging independence, and creating calm, reassuring routines. Families often tell us how much peace of mind it brings to know their loved one is supported by people who truly understand the condition. We also extend our care to adults living with mental health needs, offering steady, non judgemental support that helps people manage daily life, maintain wellbeing, and stay connected to their community. For those with physical disabilities, our team assists with mobility, personal care, and practical daily tasks, always working at the pace and preference of the person we are supporting. Younger adults who require care are equally welcomed, and we tailor our approach to reflect their goals, lifestyle, and aspirations, whether that means support to live independently, engage with work or education, or simply enjoy the freedoms of everyday life. What this means in practice for families is straightforward. It means a relative can remain in the home they love. It means a parent living with dementia can keep the familiar rhythm of morning tea in their own kitchen. It means a younger adult with a physical disability can be supported to pursue their own ambitions. And it means loved ones far away can feel confident that a caring, professional team is close by. As a newer presence on the Care Quality Commission register, Unibekk Care has not yet received a formal CQC rating. Rather than something to be uncertain about, this simply reflects where we are on our regulatory journey. We operate fully within CQC standards and are committed to transparency, safe practice, and continuous improvement. Families are always welcome to speak with us openly about our approach, our training, and how we uphold quality in every visit we make. Choosing care for someone you love is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that responsibility. If you are exploring home care in Basildon or the wider Essex area, we warmly invite you to get in touch with our friendly team. We will listen carefully, answer your questions honestly, and help you understand what thoughtful, personalised home care could look like for your family. Whatever stage of the journey you are on, we are here to walk it with you.

We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. Our aim is straightforward: to help the people we support live as independently and comfortably as possible in their own homes. We understand that inviting a care provider into your home is a significant decision, and we do not take that trust lightly. From the very first conversation, we take time to understand what matters most to each person, whether that is maintaining a familiar routine, staying connected to their community, or simply having someone reliable to call on. Care is arranged around the individual, not the other way around. Our team is carefully recruited and trained to support people across a broad range of needs, and we work hard to ensure consistency so that the people we visit see familiar faces rather than a constant stream of strangers. We believe good care comes from genuine relationships built over time. We are proud to have received a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the effort our team puts in every single day. That said, we never see a good rating as a reason to stand still. We are always looking at how we can improve and respond to feedback from the people we support and their families. If you are looking for home care in Colchester or the wider Essex area, we would be glad to have a conversation about how we might be able to help. At Mabeline, we provide home care support to people living in Harlow and the surrounding areas of Essex. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, eating disorders, and those managing alcohol or drug misuse. Our aim is straightforward: to help people live as independently as possible in their own homes, in a way that suits them. We understand that inviting someone into your home is a big step, and we do not take that trust lightly. Every person we support has their own story, their own routines, and their own preferences, and we work hard to build care around that rather than fitting people into a rigid structure. Whether someone needs a short visit each day or more regular ongoing support, we try to be flexible and responsive to what actually works for them and their families. Home care means something different to each person we support. For some it is practical help with daily tasks, for others it is companionship and reassurance, and for many it is a combination of both. We take time to get to know the people we work with so that support feels natural rather than clinical. We are based in Harlow, Essex, and we are proud to be part of this local community. Being local matters to us because it means we can be genuinely responsive and accessible, not just a name on a piece of paper. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and are committed to continually improving the quality of our care. We at Caremark (Harlow & Epping Forest) are a dedicated home care agency supporting people across Harlow and the wider Epping Forest area of Essex. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, person centred home care that allows individuals to remain safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Operating throughout the CM postcode area, we bring care directly to people across Harlow, the surrounding villages, and the Epping Forest district. Rather than asking people to adjust to a new environment, we step into the familiar surroundings of each person's home, working sensitively within their daily routines, alongside family members, and in harmony with the rhythms of life they have built over the years. This local focus means our team understands the community we serve and can respond promptly to the needs of those who rely on us. Our care covers a broad spectrum of needs, reflecting the fact that no two people require exactly the same support. We provide older person care for those who simply need a helping hand to maintain independence, as well as specialist dementia care delivered with patience, consistency, and understanding for both the individual and their loved ones. We also support adults living with mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments, tailoring our approach so that communication, dignity, and choice always remain central. For younger adults, including those navigating eating disorders or recovering from alcohol or drug misuse, we offer respectful, non judgemental support that focuses on stability, wellbeing, and progress at the individual's own pace. In practice, this means carefully matched care workers, thoughtful care plans developed in partnership with each person and their family, and a willingness to adapt as circumstances change. Families can expect open communication, reliable visits, and a team that treats their relative as a whole person rather than a list of tasks. Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out on 8 December 2025, rated us as Requires Improvement overall, with the same rating in the Safe, Effective, Responsive, and Well led domains, and a Good rating for Caring. We believe in being transparent about this. The Caring rating reflects what we hold most dear: the warmth, kindness, and genuine connection our care workers build with the people they support. At the same time, we recognise that there are areas where we must do better, and we are actively working on strengthening our practices, leadership, and responsiveness so that every aspect of our care matches the compassion our team brings each day. If you are exploring home care options for a loved one in Harlow, Epping Forest, or the surrounding Essex communities, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Choosing care is a deeply personal decision, and we are here to listen, answer your questions honestly, and help you understand whether our support is the right fit for your family. Whatever stage you are at in your search, please reach out, and we will do everything we can to guide you with kindness and clarity.

Here at Phoenix Premium Care, we provide home care support to people living in Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas of Essex. We come to you, working around your life and your routines rather than asking you to fit around ours. We support a wide range of people across different circumstances and stages of life. Whether someone is an older adult who needs a little help around the home, a younger adult managing a physical disability, or someone living with dementia, we aim to understand what matters to each individual and build our support around that. We also work with people who have visual or hearing impairments, and we take time to understand how each person communicates and what they need to feel comfortable and confident in their own home. Dementia care is something we take particularly seriously. We know that routines, familiarity and calm consistency make a real difference to people living with dementia, and we work closely with families to make sure our approach reflects the person, not just the condition. We believe people deserve to stay in their own homes for as long as they choose to, with the right level of support in place to make that possible. That might mean help with personal care, assistance throughout the day, or simply having a reliable and friendly face call in regularly. Whatever the arrangement, we work to make it feel as natural and unobtrusive as possible. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and while we are currently in the early stages of our regulatory journey, we hold ourselves to a high standard and welcome feedback from the people we support and their families. If you would like to find out more about how we might be able to help you or someone you care about, please do get in touch. We are always happy to have a conversation.

Anglian Care in Chelmsford supports people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding parts of Essex. We are a home care agency, which means the care comes to you, at times you have agreed, and fits into the life you already have. We support older people, including many living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Supporting people that different from one another means resisting standard packages, so we plan each arrangement individually and revisit it as things change. Visits might cover personal care, support with medication, meals and shopping, help keeping a household running, or time spent simply being with someone. Families often tell us the company matters as much as the practical help. We keep the same care workers visiting the same people wherever we can, because that is how somebody comes to know you well enough to spot a change early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We are glad of it and treat the points we were asked to watch as live rather than settled. If you are starting to look into care for yourself or a relative, ring us. There is no obligation in a conversation and it usually makes things clearer.

We at Bocking are proud to provide compassionate home care across Braintree and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting people to live well and safely in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area, our team works throughout Braintree and the wider local area, bringing care directly to the doorstep of those who need us. Choosing home care means there is no need to leave behind familiar surroundings, cherished memories, or the comfort of a favourite armchair. Instead, support comes to you, woven gently into the rhythm of daily life, whether that means a morning visit to help with breakfast and medication or a longer call to assist with personal care, companionship, and the small routines that make a house a home. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We support older people who wish to maintain their independence, including those living with dementia, where consistency, patience, and a calm familiar presence can make all the difference. We also care for younger adults, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, those with physical disabilities, and people living with visual or hearing impairments. In practice, this means we take time to understand each person as an individual, shaping our support around their preferences, communication needs, and personal goals rather than asking them to fit into a one size fits all approach. For families, it offers reassurance that a loved one is being looked after by people who genuinely understand the condition they are living with and who treat every visit as an opportunity to build trust. We are pleased to hold an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, with Good ratings awarded across all five domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families weighing up their options, this independent assessment offers meaningful confirmation that the care we provide meets the standards expected by the national regulator, and that our approach to safety, leadership, and compassion has been recognised across every area inspectors examine. Choosing care for someone you love is rarely an easy decision, and we understand the weight of that responsibility. If you are exploring home care in Braintree for yourself or a family member, we warmly invite you to get in touch. At Wellspring Care, we provide home care support to people living in Billericay and the surrounding areas of Essex. Our work centres on helping individuals remain in their own homes, in familiar surroundings, with their independence and dignity intact. We support a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. Every person who comes to us has their own story, their own routines, and their own preferences, and we take the time to understand what matters to each individual before we begin any care arrangement. Home care is personal. It happens in someone's kitchen, their living room, the spaces they have shaped over a lifetime. We are very aware of what it means to invite a carer into that environment, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our team works hard to build genuine, consistent relationships with the people we support and with their families, so that care never feels like a transaction but rather a reliable and human presence. We are proud to hold a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the standards we hold ourselves to and the feedback we receive from the people we work with. That said, we are always looking at how we can improve and grow, because the needs of the people we support evolve, and so should we. If you are looking into home care for yourself or someone you love, we are very happy to have an honest conversation about what we can offer and whether we are the right fit. There is no pressure, just a straightforward discussion about how we might be able to help. We are based in Billericay and would be glad to hear from you.

Remaj Care provides home care to people in Basildon and across Essex. We support older people and younger adults in their own homes, and our purpose is straightforward, which is to make staying at home a workable choice rather than simply a preferred one. What we do varies from person to person. For one household it is half an hour in the morning so that the day starts properly, with help washing, dressing and taking medication. For another it is several visits a day covering personal care, meals and a check that everything is safe before the evening. For a younger adult it is often less about tasks and more about being present for the parts of a week that are difficult while keeping out of the way of the parts that are not. We spend proper time on the first conversation, with the person and anyone they want present, because the details that make home care work are specific and small and never make it onto a referral form. We keep the same small team visiting the same person wherever the rota allows, since reliability is what earns trust. Senior staff are contactable when something unexpected comes up. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

Serene Pathways supports adults at home in Basildon and across Essex. We work in people's own houses and flats, arranging support around the life that is already there rather than asking anyone to reorganise their day to suit us. We support older people, including many living with dementia, alongside adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition and younger adults. Visits can cover personal care, prompting and help with medication, cooking and meals, housework and laundry, moving about safely, getting to appointments and having company for people who are alone more than they would choose. Because the people we support are so varied, we take real time at the start to understand what would genuinely help rather than reaching for a standard package. We write it down clearly so every member of the team works the same way, and we keep the same carers with the same households wherever the rota allows, since support built on a relationship works better than support delivered by a stranger. We keep families in the picture, review packages as circumstances change and treat being told about a problem as useful information rather than an inconvenience. If you are considering care at home in Essex, we are happy to visit, listen properly and be honest about whether we are the right service for you.

At Coghlan Care, we provide home care to people living in Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas of Essex. Our work centres on helping individuals remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, with the right level of support tailored to their needs. We support older people, younger adults, and those living with dementia. Whether someone needs help with daily routines, companionship, or more involved personal care, we work closely with each person and their family to make sure the support we provide genuinely fits their life. No two people are the same, and we take that seriously. Dementia care is an area we give particular thought to. We understand how unsettling and confusing things can become for someone living with dementia, and equally how much it affects the people who love them. We aim to bring consistency and calm, building trust with the individual over time so that care feels familiar rather than intrusive. We were most recently rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the standards we hold ourselves to across safety, responsiveness and the quality of care we deliver day to day. Being based in Saffron Walden means we are genuinely part of the local community. We are not a distant organisation trying to manage things from afar. The people we care for are our neighbours, and that matters to us. It shapes how we recruit, how we train, and how we show up for people. If you are thinking about care for yourself or someone you love, we are always happy to have an honest conversation about what might help and whether we are the right fit. The people we work with include older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions or an eating disorder, people with physical disabilities or with sight or hearing loss, and people dealing with problems related to alcohol or drugs. A good deal of our work is with people whose needs are complex enough that a standard visiting rota would not be safe or useful. That calls for staff trained for the particular person rather than generally, for detailed plans that everybody follows, and for close working with community nurses, therapists, specialist teams and GPs so that nobody is left repeating themselves to each new professional. It also calls for remembering whose life it is. Complexity is never a reason to stop asking somebody what they want. Plans are agreed with the person, and with family or an advocate where they want that, and revised as things change. We keep the team around each person small and consistent, because in complex care a support worker who knows the household is a safety measure as much as a kindness. For autistic people we give notice of change well in advance and pay close attention to sensory needs. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support.

Ace 24 provides care and support in people's own homes across Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our aim is to make staying at home a realistic choice for as long as it suits the person. Support ranges widely. Some people want one short call a day for help with washing, dressing and medication. Others need several visits covering meals, shopping, laundry and getting out and about, or longer support built around complex needs. We work with people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions including eating disorders, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Every package begins with an assessment at home and a proper conversation about what would actually help. The plan belongs to the person, and family are part of it when the person wants them to be. We plan our rotas so that the same carers visit the same people wherever possible. Familiarity makes support easier and safer, because a carer who knows someone notices quickly when something has changed. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you are considering care at home, please get in touch and we will arrange to visit and talk it through.

We at Support Hands Domiciliary Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Witham and the surrounding communities in Essex, supporting individuals to live well and safely within the place they know best: their own home. Based in the CM postcode area of Witham, our team is ideally positioned to reach those living throughout the town and nearby villages across Essex. Because we deliver care in the comfort of your own residence, the environment is shaped by what matters most to you, your familiar surroundings, treasured belongings, and the rhythm of daily life you have built over the years. We work alongside families to ensure the home remains a place of independence, dignity, and reassurance. Our specialisms span older person care, home care, and support for younger adults, which means we tailor our approach to the unique circumstances of every individual we visit. For older people, this might involve gentle assistance with personal care, mobility, medication prompts, and the companionship that brightens a day. For younger adults, our support is geared towards enabling independence, whether that involves help with daily routines, encouragement to engage with the community, or practical assistance that allows individuals to pursue their own goals. Families can take comfort in knowing that care plans are built around the person, not the task, and that we communicate openly so loved ones always feel involved and informed. The Care Quality Commission has rated us Good overall following our most recent inspection. We achieved Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring, and Responsive domains, reflecting the dedication our team brings to every visit and the trust our clients place in us. The Well-led domain was rated as Requires Improvement, and we have taken this feedback seriously, viewing it as a valuable opportunity to strengthen our leadership and governance so that the quality of care our clients experience continues to grow. For families, this transparency is part of our commitment to honest, accountable care. If you are exploring home care options for someone you love in Witham or the wider Essex area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Choosing care is a significant decision, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and walk alongside you as you find the right support for your family.

We at MD Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Wickford and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting individuals to live well in the place they know best: their own home. As a dedicated home care agency based in the SS postcode area, we bring personalised support directly to your loved one's doorstep. Operating throughout Wickford and the wider Essex region, our team travels to the homes of those we support, meaning there is no unfamiliar environment to adjust to. Care is delivered amid the comfort of familiar surroundings, treasured belongings, and established daily routines. This community based approach allows us to weave seamlessly into the fabric of each person's life, whether that means a quiet morning visit, companionship through the afternoon, or reassuring support in the evening. Our breadth of expertise reflects the diverse needs of the people we care for. We provide thoughtful older person care for those who simply need a little extra help to maintain their independence, alongside specialist dementia care delivered with patience, consistency, and a deep respect for each individual's history and personality. For adults living with a learning disability or autism, we focus on enabling choice, building trust, and supporting meaningful daily routines. Our mental health support is grounded in empathy and stability, whilst our care for individuals with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment is tailored to promote dignity, accessibility, and confidence. We also support younger adults whose needs may differ from those traditionally associated with home care, recognising that good support is always shaped around the person, never the other way around. In practice, this means families can expect a consistent, well matched team who take time to truly know the person they are supporting. From assistance with personal care, medication, and mobility, to companionship, meal preparation, and engagement with hobbies and the local community, our role is to make each day feel manageable, meaningful, and safe. For relatives, particularly those living further afield, this brings peace of mind that a trusted presence is there when it matters most. We are pleased to hold an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, with Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring, and Responsive domains. This independent recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering kind, capable, and person centred support. The CQC also identified Well led as an area requiring improvement, and we take such feedback seriously as an opportunity to strengthen our practice, develop our team, and continue raising standards for the people who rely on us. If you are exploring care options for a loved one in Wickford or the surrounding Essex area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Choosing care is a deeply personal decision, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and help you understand what tailored home support could look like for your family. At Great Bradfords House, we provide home care to people living in Braintree and the surrounding areas of Essex. Our work centres on supporting individuals to remain in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and most themselves, rather than uprooting their lives when things become more difficult. We support people across a wide range of needs, including older adults, those living with dementia, people with learning disabilities or autism, individuals managing mental health conditions, and those with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments. We do not take a one size fits all approach. Every person who comes to us has a different story, different routines, and different priorities, and we work hard to understand those before anything else. Our team visits people in their homes, helping with everyday tasks, personal care, companionship, and whatever else genuinely makes a difference to how someone gets through their day. We try to build consistency into our visits so that the people we support are not constantly meeting unfamiliar faces. Familiarity matters, particularly for those living with dementia or conditions that make new situations feel unsettling. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a rating of Good across all areas. That rating reflects the work our team puts in day to day, and we take it seriously as something to maintain rather than a box already ticked. If you are looking for care for yourself or for someone you love, we understand that it is not always an easy conversation to start. We are happy to talk things through at whatever pace feels right, answer questions honestly, and help you work out whether what we offer is the right fit. Please do get in touch and we will do our best to help.

We at Ivy Grace Home Care Kirby Cross Branch are proud to offer compassionate home care across Frinton on Sea and the surrounding communities in Essex, supporting individuals to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best, their own home. Operating from our Kirby Cross base within the CO postcode area, we are ideally positioned to reach families throughout Frinton on Sea and the wider Tendring district. Our local presence means we understand the coastal community we serve, from the quiet residential streets to the seaside neighbourhoods that many of our clients have called home for decades. Because our care comes to you, the environment is always familiar, personal, and shaped around each individual's own routines, comforts, and cherished belongings. Our team supports a broad range of needs, offering specialist care for older people, adults living with dementia, those managing mental health conditions, individuals with physical disabilities, and people with visual or hearing impairments. We also support younger adults who benefit from tailored assistance to maintain their independence. In practice, this means our care is never one size fits all. For someone living with dementia, it may involve gentle reassurance, familiar routines, and thoughtful communication that reduces anxiety. For a person with a physical disability, it might mean supporting safe mobility, personal care, and enabling participation in the activities they enjoy. For families, it means knowing that a trained, understanding presence is looking after their loved one with dignity and warmth. Home care extends far beyond practical tasks. Whilst we assist with personal care, medication support, meal preparation, and household routines, we also value the companionship and continuity that make each visit meaningful. For relatives who live at a distance or who are balancing work and caring responsibilities, our support offers genuine peace of mind, knowing someone reliable is checking in, listening, and responding to changing needs. As a newer branch, we have not yet received a Care Quality Commission rating. Whilst our formal inspection is still to come, we are fully registered with the CQC and operate to the same rigorous standards of safety, effectiveness, and person centred practice that the regulator expects. We welcome open conversations with families about our approach, our team, and how we deliver care, and we encourage prospective clients to ask any questions that will help them feel confident in their choice. Choosing home care is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand it often comes at a time of worry or change. If you are exploring care options for yourself or someone you love in Frinton on Sea, Kirby Cross, or the neighbouring areas, we would be delighted to hear from you. A conversation with our team costs nothing, and it may be the first reassuring step towards care that truly feels like home.

We are based at Queens Head Chambers in Clacton on Sea, and we provide care in people's own homes across this part of Essex. The people we visit are a wide group: older people, many living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Because the range is broad, we do not begin from a fixed offer. We begin with the person, in their own home, asking how the day actually runs, what has become difficult, what they want to keep doing themselves, and where help would genuinely help. The support plan comes out of that conversation and is revised as circumstances change. In practice that might mean personal care, a prompt and a check with medication, meals cooked and eaten with company, help getting safely about the house, support to get out to work, college or the shops, or reliable company for somebody who has become isolated. For autistic people especially, predictability matters a great deal, so changes are explained in advance and staffing is kept steady wherever the rota allows. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard at continuity of staff. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us if you would like to talk it through.

Together Care is a home care agency in Basildon, supporting adults in their own homes across the area. The people we work with are a broad mix: older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and people managing a mental health condition. That range means there is no single way of working, and we plan each person's support individually. We also try to be honest about limits. There comes a point for some people at which visits, however frequent, are no longer enough to keep them safe and well. An agency that will not say so is doing a family no favours, and we would rather raise it early and help people plan than keep taking work that has stopped serving anyone. Up to that point, our job is to make staying at home workable. We ask how somebody already manages, fill in the gaps rather than take over, and keep the visiting team small so people are known. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are arranging care at home locally, please get in touch and we will talk it through.

- Home Care
Amor Social Care provides support in people's own homes in Brentwood and across Essex. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. Care at home only works when it is built around the household rather than around the provider, so that is where we start. Before anything begins we sit down with the person, and with family if they want them there, and work out what would actually help, what they would rather keep doing themselves and how they like things done in their own home. Some people want brisk and efficient visits and nothing else; others want somebody who will make a cup of tea and talk for ten minutes. Both are reasonable and we plan accordingly. From there we build a small, settled team, because a familiar face at the door changes the whole feel of a visit. For people living with dementia that consistency is the most useful thing we can offer. Where somebody has a sensory impairment we adapt how we communicate and take care to leave the home exactly as they expect to find it. Where we support people with mental health needs we work in step with the community teams involved and aim to be the dependable part of the week. If you are looking into home care in Essex, we are happy to come out and talk it through without obligation.

We at Santhem Care are proud to offer compassionate home care across Billericay and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting older people, younger adults, and those living with dementia to remain safely and comfortably in the homes they love. Based in the CM postcode area, our team is well placed to reach families throughout Billericay and neighbouring villages. Home care allows the familiar surroundings of your own front door, favourite armchair, and cherished memories to remain at the centre of everyday life. Rather than adapting to a new environment, our care comes to you, fitting gently around routines, preferences, and the rhythms that make a house feel like home. Our specialisms reflect the breadth of needs within our community. For older people, we provide considerate support with the daily tasks that can become more challenging over time, from personal care and medication reminders to meal preparation and companionable conversation. For families navigating a dementia diagnosis, our approach is patient and person centred, focused on preserving dignity, encouraging independence where possible, and offering reassurance during moments of confusion or anxiety. We understand that dementia care is as much about supporting loved ones as it is about caring for the individual, and we aim to be a steady, knowledgeable presence for the whole family. We also support adults living with physical disabilities, tailoring assistance to promote autonomy and confidence in daily living. For those with visual or hearing impairments, our team takes care to communicate clearly, adapt our approach, and ensure the home environment feels safe and navigable. Younger adults who require support are met with the same respect and understanding, with care plans shaped around personal goals, lifestyle, and aspirations rather than a one size fits all model. As a newer presence being assessed, Santhem Care has not yet received a CQC rating. Whilst a formal inspection outcome is still to come, we are fully registered and committed to meeting the standards families rightly expect. We welcome open conversations about our approach, our team, and how we work, and we encourage prospective clients to ask any questions that will help them feel confident in their choice. Choosing care for someone you love is a significant decision, and we know it often comes at an emotional time. If you are exploring home care options in Billericay or the wider Essex area, we would be glad to hear from you. We provide care in people's own homes in Waltham Abbey and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our work is to support people to live where they want to live, with help that arrives when it should. We visit older people needing assistance with washing, dressing, meals and medication, people living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, people whose sight or hearing is impaired and younger adults needing support at home. We also support people living with eating disorders, where mealtimes need patience and an approach agreed carefully with the person and the clinical team involved. We want to be straightforward about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are working through what was identified, with attention to supervision of staff, record keeping and making sure visits are delivered as planned and at the agreed times. We are Favour Care, based in Basildon, and we provide care in people's own homes across Essex. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Home care stands or falls on reliability, so that is where our effort goes first. Turning up when we said we would. Sending somebody the person already knows. Telling a family promptly if a visit has to change. None of that is glamorous, but it is what people actually notice, and it is what separates support that helps from support that becomes another worry. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home. How does the day run now? What has become difficult? What do you still want to do for yourself, and where would a hand genuinely help? From those answers we agree the visits, which might be a single short call, several a day, or a longer stretch so that a relative caring full time can get out of the house properly. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so continuity of staff is something we work at rather than mention in passing. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We prefer to say so ourselves, and we welcome close questions about how we recruit and train our carers.

We provide home care in Basildon and across Essex, supporting people to live in their own homes with as much independence as they can hold on to. Our carers visit at agreed times through the day and evening, and the shape of those visits is decided by the person receiving them. The people we support are varied. Many are older and want help with personal care, medication, meals or simply getting safely from one part of the house to another. Others are younger adults working towards more independent lives. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, and people with physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment. We also work with people managing mental health conditions and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse, where reliability and an absence of judgement count for a great deal. Good home care is fairly unglamorous. It is turning up when we said we would, noticing when something has changed, and passing that on to the right person quickly. We build our plans with the individual and their family, and we review them properly rather than as a formality. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We provide care at home in Brentwood and the surrounding parts of Essex. Those we visit include older adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Families usually find us at a difficult point, after a fall or a hospital discharge or a slow accumulation of worry. What we try to offer first is clarity rather than reassurance: what we can provide, how often, what it costs, and what we honestly cannot do. A comfortable answer that collapses in a month is worse than a blunt one now. After that the work is unglamorous and depends on organisation. The same faces where possible, notes read before arriving, and enough time in each visit that nobody is hurried through being washed. We aim our help at what has genuinely become hard and leave alone what somebody would rather keep managing. Kindness is how independence usually gets eroded, one helpful act at a time. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission and we would rather say so directly. Ask us how we recruit, train and check our carers, and meet them before any care starts.

Here at St Georges, we provide home care to people living in Witham, Essex and the surrounding area. Our aim is simple: to support people to live well in their own homes, on their own terms, with as much independence as possible. We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We take the time to understand each person as an individual, because good care looks different for everyone. What matters to you matters to us, and we build our support around your life rather than asking you to fit around ours. We are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistent effort our team puts in every single day. That rating means something to us, not as a badge to display, but as a reminder of the standard we hold ourselves to and the trust that people place in us when they invite us into their homes. Home care done well is about more than just practical tasks. It is about the relationship between the person we support and the carer who visits them. We work hard to ensure that relationship is built on respect, reliability, and genuine understanding. We listen carefully, we communicate openly, and we are always willing to adapt as needs change over time. If you are thinking about care for yourself or for someone you love, we would be glad to have a conversation with you. There is no obligation, and no pressure. We simply want to help you think through what support might look like and whether St Georges could be the right fit for you. Please do get in touch and we will do our best to help.

We provide care in people's own homes in Waltham Abbey and the surrounding parts of Essex. What we do is straightforward: give people the help they need to keep living where they want to live, at the times agreed, from carers they recognise. Most of the people we visit are older and want support with the practical business of the day, from washing and dressing to getting breakfast, taking medication properly, keeping the house in order and getting out to the shops or an appointment. We support people living with dementia, where continuity of carer and a settled routine matter more than anything else we could offer, and we also work with younger adults needing support to live independently. Reliability is what families tell us counts most. If a call is booked for eight in the morning, somebody should be there at eight, and it should be a carer the person recognises. We plan our rounds around that and keep families informed rather than leaving them guessing. Care starts with a home visit and a proper conversation about what is needed. The plan follows from that and is reviewed as needs change. Please get in touch if you would like to talk it through.

- Home Care
We provide care in people's own homes across Essex. Our purpose is to support people to live where they want to live, with help that arrives when it should and is given by carers they know. The people we support are varied. We visit older people needing help with washing, dressing, meals and medication, and people living with dementia, where familiar carers and steady routines count for a great deal. We support adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with a physical disability and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. We also support people living with eating disorders, where mealtimes need patience and an approach agreed carefully with the person and their clinical team. Supporting that range properly means thorough briefing before a carer starts with somebody new, and small teams around each person so support stays familiar. Everything begins with a home visit and an honest conversation about what would genuinely help. The plan is written plainly and reviewed as needs change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk it through.

- Home Care
Blue Bay Care provides support at home for older people and younger adults living in Chelmsford and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our purpose is to make staying at home safe and comfortable for as long as somebody wants it. Our carers help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and the everyday household tasks that often become the first real difficulty. We also support people living with a physical disability, where our aim is to take the obstacle out of the way rather than narrow what somebody does. For younger adults the balance is usually different, with support arranged around work, study and a social life and offered in a way that backs somebody up without taking over their decisions. We ask every person what they want help with and, just as importantly, what they would rather do themselves. Reliability is what we take most seriously, so we plan our rounds carefully and let people know if anything has to change. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we prefer to say so at the outset. If you would like to talk about support at home in this part of Essex, please get in touch and we will arrange to visit.

39 Wick Farm Road provides support to people living in their own homes in Southminster and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people with physical disabilities. Most of our work is about enabling rather than doing. The people we support have their own homes, their own routines and their own plans, and our part is to help make those workable rather than to take charge of them. That might mean support with cooking, shopping and managing money, help getting to appointments, company on a trip out, or personal care and help with medication where that is what somebody needs. With autistic people in particular we pay close attention to routine, to giving proper warning before anything changes and to the sensory side of somebody's environment, because those details often decide whether a day works. For people living with dementia, familiarity does most of the work, so we keep the same small team going in at consistent times. Where somebody has a physical disability we learn how their equipment is used and how they prefer to be helped to move, and we follow their way of doing it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking into support at home in this part of Essex, please get in touch and we will be honest about whether we can help.

- Home Care
PCM Homecare provides support in people's own homes in Colchester and across Essex. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment, younger adults and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. That is a broad range of need, and rather than simply list it we would sooner explain how we handle it. Every arrangement starts with a proper conversation about what somebody actually wants help with, what they can manage perfectly well themselves and how they want things done in their own home. Consistency is what we work hardest at, because care at home only really works when the person opening the door recognises who is on the other side. For people living with dementia that familiarity does more good than anything else we could promise. Where we support autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and younger adults, the emphasis is on enabling rather than doing. We also support people whom some providers find harder to place, including people recovering from alcohol or drug misuse, and our approach there is simple: we turn up when we said we would, we do not lecture, and we keep going. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to discuss support at home in Essex, please get in touch and we will be straightforward about what we can offer.

- Home Care
We at Tendring Care are proud to provide trusted home care across Clacton on Sea and the wider Tendring district of Essex, supporting older people and younger adults to live well and safely within the comfort of their own homes. Based in the coastal town of Clacton on Sea, our team works throughout the local community, bringing personalised support directly to those who need it. Rather than asking individuals to adjust to an unfamiliar setting, we come to you, ensuring that the familiar surroundings of home, with all its memories and comforts, remain at the heart of daily life. The CO postcode area we serve is rich in character, and we feel privileged to support residents across this part of Essex. Our specialisms include older person care, home care, and support for younger adults. In practice, this means we tailor our approach to each individual we visit. For older people, this might involve gentle assistance with personal care, medication prompts, mobility support, or simply a reassuring presence during the day. For younger adults, our support is shaped around independence, enabling each person to pursue their goals, routines, and interests with the right level of help at the right times. Families can take comfort in knowing that the care provided is never one size fits all, but thoughtfully shaped around the person receiving it. We understand that inviting carers into a loved one's home is a significant decision, and we approach this responsibility with the seriousness and warmth it deserves. Communication with families, respect for personal preferences, and consistency of support are values we hold dear, because we know they make a meaningful difference to wellbeing. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our most recent CQC inspection, where we were rated Good overall. This rating was achieved across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this independent recognition offers reassurance that the care we deliver meets the standards expected of a trusted home care provider, and that our team continues to work with professionalism and compassion. If you are exploring home care options for a parent, partner, relative, or yourself, we warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Tendring Care. We would be delighted to discuss your situation, answer any questions, and help you understand how the right support at home can make all the difference. Choosing care is a deeply personal journey, and we are here to walk alongside you with patience, kindness, and expertise every step of the way.

Arranging and funding home care in Essex
What the assessment establishes
Funding and provider choice are separate decisions, and they are easier taken in that order. A care needs assessment sets out what someone can manage alone, what they cannot, and what support would close the gap, and anyone who appears to need care is entitled to one whatever their savings. Essex County Council carries out that assessment and the financial assessment that follows, and arranges funded support where a person qualifies. The written outcome is useful even to families who expect to pay for everything themselves, because it converts a vague sense that something must change into a specific list of visits and tasks that an agency can quote against. A relative providing unpaid support can ask for a carer's assessment in their own right at the same time.
The cost of an hour
Care at home is priced by the hour, with shorter calls charged proportionately and higher rates usual at weekends, on bank holidays and through the night. Where support is funded, the national means test decides the contribution, and anyone holding capital above the upper threshold arranges and pays for care privately. Funded support may arrive as an arranged service or as a direct payment, which hands you the choice of agency and the shape of the rota. Attendance allowance sits outside the means test altogether and is worth claiming whatever else is in place. Before agreeing a start date, ask for a full rate card in writing, including travel charges, bank holiday rates and the notice period on both sides.
Choosing between home care agencies in Essex
Whether the rounds actually reach the door
An agency registered to work in Essex is not necessarily an agency that will travel to your relative's address, because rounds are built around clusters of clients and travel time between them. Ask about coverage and available time slots in the very first call, since an agency that can only offer a late morning visit when help is needed at seven in the morning is not a real option however well it is rated. Work out in advance how many calls a day are needed, at what times, and what has to happen during each one. That preparation turns a listing of 475 agencies into a shortlist of a few.
Reading an inspection report on an agency
The Care Quality Commission inspects a home care agency as an organisation rather than as a building, so its rating reflects recruitment and training, medication handling, how calls are scheduled and covered, and how complaints are answered. Agencies here hold Outstanding, Good and Requires Improvement ratings, and some carry none at all because they registered too recently to be inspected. An unrated agency is not automatically a weak one, but there is no independent judgement to lean on, so ask harder questions and request references. Where a report exists, the sections on safety and responsiveness usually tell you more than the overall word.
The questions that draw out honest answers
Ask how many different carers will visit across a typical fortnight, because continuity affects daily life more than anything printed in a brochure. Ask what happens when a carer is delayed or off sick, and whether anyone tells the family. Ask how visits are logged, whether relatives can see those records, and how medication support is signed off. Ask how a package can be increased if needs change, and how quickly. An agency confident in its own service answers all of that without hesitation.
Frequently asked questions about home care in Essex
How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Essex?
Contact the adult social care team at Essex County Council and ask for a care needs assessment. Anyone who appears to need care and support is entitled to one regardless of income or savings, and you can make the request on a relative's behalf. A practitioner will look at daily tasks, mobility, medication and safety, then set out what support would meet the need. A financial assessment is carried out separately to establish who pays for what.
Will Essex County Council contribute towards home care?
It depends on the outcome of the needs assessment and the financial assessment taken together. Essex County Council applies the national means test, so capital above the upper threshold means funding care privately, while capital below it can bring a contribution towards the cost. Where care is funded, a direct payment is often available so that you can choose the agency yourself rather than accept an arranged service. Attendance allowance is not means tested and can be claimed alongside any of these arrangements.
Which agencies provide home care in Essex?
475 agencies registered to deliver care in people's own homes are listed for Essex. They include national providers running local branches as well as small independent agencies covering only a few towns. Coverage is the first thing to establish, because registration in the county does not guarantee that an agency's rounds reach a particular address. Each entry links to a profile showing the Care Quality Commission rating and the inspection findings behind it.
How does home care compare with moving into a care home?
Home care brings a carer to the door for planned visits while your relative stays in their own house with their routine, neighbours and belongings around them. A residential care home provides accommodation with support available through the day and night, and a nursing home adds registered nurses on site for clinical needs. Home care suits people whose needs fall at predictable points in the day and can be increased gradually as circumstances change. Where someone needs supervision around the clock, a residential setting is usually the more realistic option.
How early should a family start looking for an agency in Essex?
A few weeks is usually enough to compare agencies, arrange an assessment and let a package start gently rather than at full strength. Beginning early leaves room to trial a small number of visits and build on them as needs become clearer. When care is required on discharge from hospital the timescale shrinks to days, and a temporary package may be arranged for you while longer term choices are made. Nothing about that first arrangement is fixed, so treat it as a starting point.
What should I ask an agency before agreeing to a care package?
Ask how many different carers will come in a typical fortnight and whether the same people return, since continuity matters more than almost anything else. Ask how late or missed calls are handled and whether the family is told at the time. Ask how visits are recorded, whether relatives can see the records, and how medication is documented. Ask about minimum call lengths, notice periods and charges for travel or bank holidays, and ask for the answers in writing.
