About Us

PCM Homecare provides support in people's own homes in Colchester and across Essex. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairment, younger adults and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse.

That is a broad range of need, and rather than simply list it we would sooner explain how we handle it. Every arrangement starts with a proper conversation about what somebody actually wants help with, what they can manage perfectly well themselves and how they want things done in their own home.

Consistency is what we work hardest at, because care at home only really works when the person opening the door recognises who is on the other side. For people living with dementia that familiarity does more good than anything else we could promise.

Where we support autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and younger adults, the emphasis is on enabling rather than doing. We also support people whom some providers find harder to place, including people recovering from alcohol or drug misuse, and our approach there is simple: we turn up when we said we would, we do not lecture, and we keep going.
