About Us
Annies Homecare supports people in their own homes in Mayland and the surrounding part of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory loss and eating disorders.
We assess at home, with whoever the person wants present, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. The plan is agreed rather than issued and it changes when circumstances do. Support may be a single short call each day, visits at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone.
Where somebody is living with an eating disorder we are patient at mealtimes, we do not make a performance of it, and we record what is actually eaten rather than what was offered.
In a rural area, rounds have to be planned so carers are not racing between villages and visits have to be long enough to be worth having. We keep our patch tight so those are realistic.
Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
