About Us

Waterside Home Care supports adults in their own homes in Chelmsford and across Essex. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and younger adults.

Most households find us at a point of change. A fall, a hospital stay, a diagnosis, or the slow arrival of the moment when carrying on unaided stops making sense. Our first task then is to reduce the pressure without taking the place over. We pick up what has become hard and deliberately leave what somebody still manages, because capability removed for convenience is very hard to get back.

Practically that means help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, moving safely around the house, laundry, shopping, appointments and time to talk properly. Some households want a single weekly visit, others need four calls a day, and both are ordinary work for us.

For people living with dementia we hold to the same carers and the same times as far as the rota allows, and we follow the routines already in place rather than substituting neater ones. Where mental health is part of the picture we keep to what we have agreed and we are steady when weeks are difficult.

At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We treat that as something to keep proving and we keep asking the households we visit what needs to change.
