At Laura Spence Aesthetics, we provide home care support to people living in Chester and the wider Cheshire West and Chester area. We work with older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, offering care that fits around each person's life rather than asking them to fit around ours. We know that inviting someone into your home is a big step. It takes trust, and we do not take that lightly. Our team takes time to get to know the people we support, understanding their routines, preferences, and what matters most to them day to day. Good care, in our view, is built on that kind of relationship. Dementia care is one of our core areas of work. Supporting someone living with dementia requires patience, consistency, and a genuine understanding of how the condition can affect a person's experience of the world. We work closely with families too, because we recognise that they are often just as much in need of reassurance and communication as the person we are directly supporting. We also support younger adults who need help at home, whether that is due to a physical condition, a learning disability, or another support need. We approach every situation as individuals, and we try hard not to make assumptions about what someone needs or wants from their care. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of good, which reflects the effort our team puts in every day. If you are thinking about home care for yourself or someone you love, we are always happy to have an honest conversation about what we can offer and whether we are the right fit. You can get in touch with us to find out more about how we work and what support might look like for you.

- Home Care
We at Belgrave Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Chester and the wider Cheshire West area, supporting people to live well and safely within the comfort of their own homes. Our approach centres on dignity, independence, and personalised support tailored to each individual we visit. Based in the CH postcode area, we are well placed to serve communities throughout Chester and surrounding neighbourhoods. As a home care agency, our environment is, quite simply, your home. We believe that familiar surroundings, treasured photographs, favourite armchairs, and the gentle rhythm of daily routines hold enormous value, particularly for those living with memory loss or long term conditions. Rather than asking people to adapt to a new setting, we bring thoughtful, professional care directly to them. Our team supports a broad range of needs, and we take pride in the diversity of people we are trusted to care for. For older people, we offer reliable companionship and practical help with everyday tasks, from preparing meals and managing medication reminders to supporting personal care with sensitivity and respect. For families navigating dementia, we provide patient, consistent support that helps reduce confusion and anxiety, working closely with loved ones to understand life histories, preferences, and the small details that bring comfort. We also support younger adults and individuals with learning disabilities or autism, focusing on enabling choice, building confidence, and encouraging participation in the activities and routines that matter most to each person. For those living with mental health conditions, we offer steady, non judgemental support that promotes wellbeing and recovery. People with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments can rely on us for considerate, skilled assistance that respects their independence whilst ensuring safety at every step. In practice, this means families can expect carers who listen carefully, communicate clearly, and adapt their approach to suit the person in front of them. We work in partnership with relatives, healthcare professionals, and local community resources to ensure that care plans evolve as needs change. Our most recent CQC inspection awarded us a rating of Good across every domain, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this independent assurance offers peace of mind that the care being delivered meets high national standards across every aspect of our practice, from leadership and responsiveness to the warmth and skill of our caring team. Choosing home care is a deeply personal decision, and we understand that reaching out for the first time can feel daunting. Whether you are exploring options for yourself, a parent, or a loved one, we warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Belgrave Care. We would be glad to listen, answer your questions, and help you understand how thoughtful home care in Chester could make a real difference to daily life.

- Home Care
Live Life Well provides care at home for people living in Chester and across Cheshire West and Chester. Our name is a plain statement of what we are trying to achieve, which is that support should widen what somebody can do rather than narrow it. We visit older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and getting out of the house, and we support people living with dementia, where a familiar carer arriving at a familiar hour does more good than any amount of paperwork. We work with adults who have a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, adults with a learning disability or autism, younger adults, and people managing mental ill health. Each of those calls for a different approach, and we would rather admit that than pretend one way of working suits everyone. Care starts with a proper assessment in the person's own home, with family involved if that is wanted. We agree what we will do, when we will do it and what we will leave well alone, and we write it down clearly. If the plan stops fitting, we change it. We keep continuity of carers as far as we possibly can, and we are straight with people when illness or holidays make that difficult. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you are thinking about care at home, please get in touch and we will talk it through honestly.

AMG Nursing and Care in Chester supports people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding area. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions, and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. We plan support around the person rather than a standard package. The first conversation is about what has become difficult, what someone would rather carry on doing alone, and who else they want involved. What follows is written in plain language and shared, so that everyone who visits knows what matters and why. Our visits may cover personal care, support with medication, meals, laundry and housework, and shopping. They may equally concern routine and company, getting out of the house, keeping appointments, or support to rebuild confidence after a difficult period. Continuity is something we protect. Letting a carer into your home is personal, and it works far better when the person arriving is someone you know. Familiar staff also notice quickly when a person's health or mood has shifted, and we raise that promptly with families, with the person's agreement, and with the professionals involved. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are glad to talk things through with no obligation.

- Home Care
At Imagine Act and Succeed, we provide home care across Manchester and Trafford, supporting people to live well in the place they know best: their own home. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, people living with dementia, those with learning disabilities or autism, and people with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments. We started from a straightforward belief: that good care means genuinely listening to the people we support and building everything around their needs, routines and preferences. Every person who comes to us has a different life, different priorities and a different idea of what a good day looks like. Our job is to understand that and then get on with making it happen. Our team works closely with individuals and their families to put together care arrangements that feel right, not just on paper but in practice. Whether someone needs a little support to maintain their independence or more involved day to day care, we take the time to get things right from the start and to keep checking in as needs change over time. We are particularly experienced in supporting people living with dementia, where consistency, patience and familiarity matter enormously. We apply the same thoughtful approach across all the areas we work in, recognising that every condition affects people differently and that a one size fits all approach simply does not work. Being based in Trafford means we are part of the local community. We understand the area, we build relationships with local professionals and families, and we are accessible when people need to reach us. If you are thinking about care for yourself or someone close to you, we are always happy to have an honest, no pressure conversation about what might work best.

- Home Care
We are Ideal Live in Care, based in Manchester, and we arrange live in support for older people and for younger adults who need help throughout the day rather than in short visits. Live in care suits people for whom a handful of calls a day is not enough, but who have no wish at all to leave their own home. Having somebody in the house means help is there when it is needed rather than at fixed times, and it means the day can follow the person's own pattern: getting up when they wake, eating when they are hungry, going out when the weather suits. It also means company, which for somebody living alone can matter as much as the practical help. We take matching seriously, because a live in arrangement is a shared household and not a shift. We want to know about temperament, interests, routines and what would grate, as well as the care itself. Before anything starts, we agree with the person and their family what the support is actually for, and we keep reviewing it, since needs change and so do preferences. Support usually covers personal care, medication, cooking, housekeeping, help getting safely about, shopping and appointments, and being alongside somebody rather than watching over them. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We prefer to tell you that ourselves, and we are glad to answer any question about how we recruit and supervise our carers.

Rainbow Living provides care and support in people's own homes across Manchester. We support older people, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health, adults with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairments and younger adults. We started from a straightforward observation. Most people would rather stay in their own home, and whether that works usually comes down to whether the support is reliable and whether the people delivering it actually know them. Care that arrives at unpredictable times, from a different person each visit, undermines confidence even when every task is completed. So we keep our teams small and local, we match staff to people thoughtfully and we protect continuity as far as we possibly can. Our visits cover personal care, medication, meals, mobility, help getting up and settling at night, and support to get out into the community. For autistic adults and people with learning disabilities we pay close attention to predictability, communication and sensory needs. For people with sensory impairments we adapt how we communicate rather than expecting them to adapt to us. We keep families and professionals properly informed and we raise concerns early rather than waiting for a crisis to make the point. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. If you are looking into support for yourself or someone close to you, we are happy to meet, listen and be honest about what we can offer.

At SureCare Trafford, we provide home care to people living in Manchester and across the Trafford area, supporting individuals to remain in the comfort of their own homes while receiving the care and attention they need. We work with a wide range of people, including those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We understand that every person we support has their own routine, preferences and way of doing things, and we make it our business to get to know each individual properly before care begins. That means listening carefully, involving family members where appropriate, and building support around the person rather than expecting them to fit around us. Home care works best when there is genuine consistency and trust between the carer and the person being supported. We work hard to ensure that the people in our care see familiar faces and that any changes are communicated clearly and in good time. For those living with dementia or other conditions that can make change more unsettling, this consistency really does make a difference to daily life. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and whilst we are currently awaiting our first rating, we welcome the scrutiny that regulation brings. It keeps us honest and focused on doing things properly. Our team covers Manchester and the wider Trafford area, and we are always happy to have an honest conversation about whether we are the right fit for someone's needs. If you are looking for support for yourself or someone you care about, please do get in touch. We are straightforward to talk to, and we will give you an honest picture of what we can offer and how we can help.

We are a home care agency working across Manchester and the Trafford area. Our carers visit people in their own homes, and everything we arrange starts from what the person receiving care actually wants rather than from a standard package. Support might mean help with washing, dressing and continence, prompting or giving medication, preparing meals, light household work, shopping, or getting out to an appointment. Some people want one short call a day. Others need several visits, and for some the value lies as much in having somebody sit down and take an interest. We work with older people and with younger adults. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Manchester and Trafford are varied places, and we pay attention to language, culture, food and routine, because ignoring those makes care impersonal however competent it may be. Care plans are agreed with the individual and reviewed as circumstances change. Where something concerns a carer during a visit, it is reported promptly to the family or to the relevant health professional. Keeping the same carers visiting the same households is a priority, because familiar people notice early when somebody is not quite right. If you are considering home care in this area, we would be glad to talk it over with you.

Unique Community works across Manchester, providing care and support in people's own homes. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, younger adults, people recovering from an eating disorder, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. A range that wide has taught us not to offer one pattern of support and hope it lands. Somebody rebuilding their life after dependence needs something entirely unlike somebody in the later stages of dementia, and each deserves an arrangement built for the person rather than the category. So we listen first, agree it in plain language, and revisit it honestly instead of filing it away. Where the work is sensitive we go carefully and without judgement. Recovery from an eating disorder or from addiction rarely runs in a straight line, and being dependable on the difficult weeks is most of what we are useful for. We work alongside health teams and specialist services rather than duplicating what they already do. Much of what we do is more everyday: personal care, medication, meals, mobility, household jobs, shopping, appointments and company, from carers the household already knows. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection, and we keep asking the people we support whether that still holds true.

Crown Personnel is a home care agency in Salford, supporting adults in their own homes across the area. We visit older people and younger adults, and a good number of the people we support are living with dementia. Calls range from a single short visit each morning through to several a day, covering personal care, medication, meals, help to move about the home safely, shopping, appointments and company. Supporting somebody with dementia at home has one large advantage over any other setting: everything is already familiar. The rooms, the routines, the view from the window and the order things are kept in all do work that no amount of staffing can replicate elsewhere. Our job is to fit into that rather than rearrange it, and to send the same small group of care workers so the faces become familiar too. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We say that plainly and would encourage anyone considering us to meet the manager and ask for references. If you are arranging care at home locally, please get in touch.

We are a home care agency based in Salford, supporting people in their own homes across this part of Manchester. We visit older people, including many living with dementia, adults with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Home care is worth having when it is built around the person rather than around a standard package. For some of the people we support that means a short morning call to help with getting up, washing and dressing, leaving the rest of the day their own. For others it means help with medication, meals and the running of a household, or several visits through the day where that is what makes staying at home realistic. We agree what is needed at the start, put it in writing plainly and change it when circumstances change. Continuity is the part of this work people notice most, so we try to keep the same small group of carers with the same person. A familiar face at the door counts for a great deal, and a carer who knows somebody well is the one who spots that they are not right today. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, how we announce ourselves and how we communicate matters, and we expect our carers to get that right as a matter of habit. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to talk about support at home.

We at Voyage (DCA) Greater Manchester are proud to provide specialist home care across Manchester and the surrounding communities, supporting adults to live the lives they choose within the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. As a dedicated home care agency based in the M postcode area of Manchester, we bring person centred support directly to those who need it most. Operating throughout Greater Manchester and the wider North West, our team travels to residents wherever they call home, whether that is a private flat, a family house, or supported living accommodation. By delivering care in familiar surroundings, we help the people we support maintain their routines, relationships, and connections to the local community they love. Manchester is a vibrant and diverse city, and we feel privileged to be part of the network of care that helps its residents thrive in place. Our specialisms reflect the breadth of need within the community we serve. We support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, providing tailored assistance that respects each individual's preferences, communication style, and aspirations. For those experiencing mental health challenges, our approach is grounded in compassion, consistency, and recovery focused support that helps build confidence and independence over time. We also work with adults living with physical disabilities, offering practical help with daily living whilst championing dignity and choice at every step. Younger adults are a particular focus of our work, and we understand that care for someone in their twenties, thirties, or forties looks very different from traditional models, requiring flexibility, ambition, and a real commitment to supporting goals around education, employment, friendships, and family life. In practice, this means our care plans are built around the person, not the diagnosis. Families can expect us to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and shape support that fits naturally into daily life. Whether that involves help with personal care, medication, meal preparation, accessing the community, or simply being a reliable and friendly presence, our team is trained to deliver support in a way that empowers rather than restricts. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement, following a visit in November 2022. We want to be transparent about this with the families considering our support. Within that inspection, we were rated Good across four of the five key domains: Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. The area identified for improvement was Safe, and we have taken this feedback seriously, using it as a clear roadmap for strengthening our practice. The Good ratings in Caring and Responsive reflect the genuine warmth and attentiveness our team brings to every visit, whilst the Good rating for Well led speaks to the leadership and culture that underpins our work. We remain committed to continuous improvement and to ensuring every person we support feels safe, valued, and heard. Choosing care for a loved one is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that responsibility. If you are exploring home care options in Manchester for an adult with a learning disability, autism, a mental health condition, or a physical disability, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with you. Please get in touch to learn more about how we can support your family with care that is thoughtful, professional, and built around the person you love.

Our work is home care, and we do it across Manchester, visiting people where they live so that they do not have to move somewhere else to get the support they need. Some people see us once a day, others several times, and a few need us only for a short while after an illness or a stay in hospital. The people we support are older adults and younger adults alike. That includes people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and people managing a mental health condition, for whom a reliable visit at a set time can be the thing that holds a week together. What we offer is fairly practical. Help getting up and dressed, support with medication, meals, shopping, laundry and the errands that pile up. Alongside that we offer attention, which costs nothing and is often in shorter supply than anything else. A carer who knows somebody well will spot a change in mood or appetite long before it shows up anywhere official. We try to send the same carers to the same people, and we tell families straight away when something has changed. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and do not hold an overall rating at present. If you are looking into care at home in Manchester, get in touch and we will come and talk with you about what would help, with no obligation to go any further.

Better Vision Care Manchester provides care and support to people in their own homes across Manchester. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, mental health needs and physical disabilities. We begin with a visit at home and a straightforward conversation about what would actually help. Support that takes over more than it needs to does more harm than good, so we are as interested in what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as in what they want from us. The plan is agreed together and changes as life changes rather than when a review date arrives. Support may be a single short call each day, several visits for personal care, medication, meals, housework and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. Where somebody has a physical disability we pay attention to the mechanics of the house, because whether a frame is within reach or help arrives at the right moment decides more than any wording in a plan. For people living with dementia, familiarity and timing do more good than anything else, so we keep teams small and say in advance when a new carer is coming. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition we try to be steady and predictable. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised, and we are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

Care should feel personal, not like a process. Dementia care is an area we approach with particular thoughtfulness. We know how unsettling things can become for both the individual and their family, and we aim to bring consistency and calm into the home environment. Similarly, for those dealing with mental health challenges, we recognise the importance of building genuine trust and offering steady, reliable support without judgement. For younger adults who need assistance at home, we are equally committed to supporting independence and helping people live life on their own terms. Whatever the reason someone comes to us, our focus remains the same: to provide care that is respectful, consistent and genuinely helpful. We are based in Manchester and proud to support our local community. The people we care for are at the heart of everything we do, and we hold ourselves to a high standard when it comes to the quality and reliability of our support. If you would like to find out more about how we can help you or a loved one, we would be very happy to have a conversation and talk through your options.

Caleendus provides care at home for people living in Manchester and across Tameside. We support people in the houses and flats they already know, and we work on the basis that our job is to fit around a life rather than to reorganise it. We visit older people who need help with personal care, medication, meals and running a household, and we support people living with dementia, where a familiar carer arriving at a familiar hour steadies a day more effectively than anything else we could offer. We also work with adults who have physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults, people managing mental ill health and people living with an eating disorder. Those last two in particular ask for patience, discretion and a carer who does not make assumptions. Every arrangement starts with an unhurried conversation at home about what someone wants to keep doing for themselves and where help is genuinely welcome. We write down what we have agreed, we stick to it, and we revisit it properly when things change rather than carrying on out of habit. Continuity of carer is something we protect as far as we can, and we are honest with people when holidays or sickness make it harder. If you are thinking about support at home in Manchester or Tameside, we are glad to talk it through and explain plainly what we can and cannot do.

- Home Care
We at Flourishlife Care are a dedicated home care agency supporting individuals across Manchester and the wider Oldham area, bringing compassionate, person centred care directly into the comfort and familiarity of your own home. Operating from the heart of the North West, we understand that home is more than just a place. It is where memories live, where routines feel natural, and where dignity is most deeply felt. Our team works across local neighbourhoods within the M postcode area and surrounding communities, delivering care that fits seamlessly into the rhythm of daily life. Whether you live in a quiet suburban street or a bustling town centre flat, we come to you, offering a familiar face and a reassuring presence whenever it is needed most. Our care covers a broad spectrum of needs, allowing us to support a wide range of individuals at different stages of life. We provide specialist support for older people, including those living with dementia, where consistency, patience, and a calm approach can make all the difference to wellbeing. For families navigating a diagnosis, we offer reassurance that their loved one is being supported by people who understand the importance of routine, gentle communication, and emotional security. We also support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, embracing each person's individuality and helping them lead the life they choose. For those experiencing mental health challenges, our team offers steady, non judgemental support that promotes independence, confidence, and emotional resilience. We extend the same thoughtful approach to adults living with physical disabilities, sensory impairments such as visual or hearing loss, and younger adults who may need tailored support to thrive within their own homes and communities. What this means in practice is care that flexes around the person, not the other way around. From help with personal care, medication, and mobility, to companionship, meal preparation, and support with everyday tasks, every visit is shaped by the preferences and goals of the individual we are caring for. We work closely with families, keeping communication open and honest, so that loved ones always feel informed and involved in the care journey. As a newer presence in the care landscape, Flourishlife Care has not yet received a formal CQC overall rating. Whilst this rating is still to come, we are fully committed to meeting and exceeding the standards expected by the Care Quality Commission. We believe transparency matters, and we welcome conversations with families who want to understand more about our approach, our team, and the careful way we build our care plans. If you are exploring home care options for yourself or someone you love in Manchester, Oldham, or the surrounding areas, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing care is a significant step, and we are here to listen, to answer your questions, and to walk alongside you with warmth and understanding every step of the way.

Ordinary Lifestyles supports people in their own homes in Oldham and across Manchester. Most of our work is with adults who have a learning disability, with autistic adults and with people who have physical disabilities, and we also support older people who want help to keep living independently. The name says what we are for. An ordinary life, on the person's own terms, with the support needed to make it work and no more than that. Support is planned with the person, in a form they understand, and covers what they want to be doing as much as the help they need. Keeping a tenancy going, cooking, managing money, getting to work, college or the places they enjoy, dealing with health appointments, and having somebody steady alongside them where situations are difficult. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do communicate and make sure every member of their team knows it, because a worker who misreads a person creates problems that need never have existed. Keeping teams small and consistent is part of the same thinking. Where a person wants to need us less over time, that is a proper goal and we plan for it openly rather than quietly avoiding it. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please get in touch if you are arranging support in the Oldham area.

We are Pristine Health Solutions, a home care provider working across Manchester and the Rochdale area. We visit adults in their own homes, supporting older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, and younger adults who need help to live independently. Most people come to us at a point of change. A spell in hospital, a fall, a diagnosis, or simply the gradual realisation that managing alone has become harder than it was. Our aim in those first weeks is to take the pressure off without taking over. We do the parts that have become difficult and we leave alone the parts somebody can still manage, because independence that is quietly removed is very hard to get back. A typical week with us might include help with washing and dressing, prompting or administering medication, preparing meals, moving safely around the house, laundry, shopping and time to talk. For people living with dementia we keep the same carers visiting wherever the rota allows, arrive at consistent times, and follow the routines that already make sense to that person rather than imposing new ones. We keep families informed, with the agreement of the person we support, and we raise concerns with district nurses, GPs and social workers promptly when we see something that worries us. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until then, please ask us anything you like about our staff, our training and how we handle things when they go wrong.

We are My Homecare Chesterfield, and we provide care in people's own homes across Chesterfield and the surrounding parts of Derbyshire. We support people living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Our reason for doing home care rather than anything else is straightforward. Home is where the routines make sense, where you know where everything is, and where you are still the person who decides. Support that keeps somebody there is usually worth a great deal more than support that moves them somewhere unfamiliar. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home. We want to know how the day runs now, what has become difficult, who else is involved and what would make the biggest difference. From there we agree the visits, which might be one short call a day, several calls, or longer stretches so that a family carer can get out of the house properly. We expect to adjust the plan, because needs rarely hold still. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard to send the same carers to the same homes. A carer who knows somebody well is also the one who notices first when something has changed. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather tell you that plainly, and we are happy to answer anything you want to ask about how we work.

- Home Care
Just a Little Company provides home care to adults in Chesterfield and the surrounding part of Derbyshire. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. We also support people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Our name says something about how we see the work. Practical help matters enormously, and we do plenty of it: washing and dressing, medicines, meals, the household, shopping and getting out and about. But company is not a lesser part of the job. A visit where somebody actually sits down and talks is worth a great deal more to most people than one that is finished in five minutes, and we would rather agree fewer visits done properly than more done in a rush. We plan support with the person, in their own words, and we keep the visiting team small so faces stay familiar. For anybody living with dementia that continuity does most of the work. For people with mental health needs, and for people recovering from alcohol or drug misuse, reliability and an absence of judgement count for a great deal. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

- Home Care
We are the north east Derbyshire home care team, supporting older people and younger adults in their own homes in and around Chesterfield. Nearly everyone we visit wants the same thing, which is to carry on living where they are. Our job is to make that practical rather than to take anything over. Depending on what is needed, that could be one call each morning to help somebody wash, dress and get the day started, several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer periods of support where needs are more constant. The first conversation is where the work really starts. We want to know how the day usually runs, what has become difficult, and what the person can still do perfectly well and would rather we left to them. People tend to be very clear about that, and respecting it is as much the job as the tasks we take on. Continuity is where we put our effort. A familiar carer who knows the house, the routine and the person is worth more than any amount of paperwork, and we keep visit times as steady as rotas allow. We work closely with district nurses, GPs and social workers, and we raise concerns early rather than waiting for a review. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Our role is to enhance that environment with thoughtful, dignified support delivered directly to your doorstep. The breadth of care we offer reflects the diverse needs of the people we support. For older adults, we provide gentle daily assistance that helps preserve independence whilst easing the small challenges that can make life feel harder than it should. For those living with dementia, our approach is patient and person centred, focusing on familiarity, reassurance, and meaningful connection at every visit. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autism, taking time to understand individual communication styles, sensory preferences, and personal goals so that care feels empowering rather than imposed. Our mental health support is built on empathy and consistency, recognising that trust is the foundation upon which recovery and wellbeing are built. For individuals with physical disabilities, we focus on practical, respectful help that enables people to live life on their own terms, whilst those with visual or hearing impairments benefit from our attentive, adaptive approach to communication and daily routines. We are equally committed to supporting younger adults who require care, ensuring that their aspirations, social lives, and independence remain firmly at the heart of everything we do. In practice, this means families can feel reassured that their loved one is receiving care shaped around them as an individual, not a checklist. From companionship and personal care to specialist support for complex needs, our team works closely with families to build a plan that evolves as circumstances change. As a newer presence within the regulated care landscape, Addi Care is currently awaiting its first formal inspection rating from the Care Quality Commission. Whilst we do not yet have a published CQC rating, we remain fully committed to meeting and exceeding the standards expected of registered home care providers, and we welcome open conversations with families about our approach, our values, and the care we deliver every day. Choosing care for someone you love is a deeply personal decision, and we know it is rarely an easy one. Easton Care provides care and support in people's own homes and in the community across Chester Le Street and the surrounding parts of County Durham. We work with older people and with younger adults, including adults who have learning disabilities, autistic adults and people with physical disabilities. Support may cover personal care, help with medication, meals, shopping and household tasks, and often the wider business of running a life as well, from appointments and paperwork to getting out and seeing people. Support is planned with the person rather than for them. We begin by asking what somebody wants their week to look like, what they can already manage, where help genuinely makes a difference and where it would simply get in the way. Those answers become the plan, and we change it as circumstances shift or when the person changes their mind. For autistic people we pay close attention to communication, predictability and sensory needs, because getting those right at the start prevents most of the difficulties that would otherwise follow. We keep the same carers with the same people as far as the rota allows, train staff for the needs they will actually meet, and supervise them properly once they are working. Please contact us if you would like to discuss support and we will arrange to come and see you.

At South Central Supported Living, we provide home care across Winchester and the wider Hampshire area, supporting younger adults living with learning disabilities and autism to lead meaningful, independent lives in their own homes and communities. We know that good support starts with genuinely understanding the people we work with. Every person we support has their own routines, preferences, communication style and goals, and we take time to get to know what matters most to them before we do anything else. Our approach is built around the individual, not a one size fits all model, and we work closely with families, carers and other professionals to make sure our support fits naturally into each person's life. Our team works hard to build consistent, trusting relationships with the people we support. Consistency matters enormously in this line of work, particularly for autistic individuals and those with learning disabilities, where familiarity and predictability can make a real difference to wellbeing. We recruit people who are patient, thoughtful and genuinely interested in the lives of those they support, and we invest in their ongoing training and development so that the quality of care remains high. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a rating of Good across all areas. That outcome reflects the effort our whole team puts in day to day, and it gives families confidence that their loved ones are in safe, capable hands. Being based in Winchester means we are part of the local community, and we value that connection. Whether someone needs a few hours of support each week or more intensive day to day assistance, we are here to help them live as fully and independently as possible. If you would like to find out more about how we could support you or someone you care about, we would love to hear from you.

We at Unique Option Healthcare Hampshire are proud to offer compassionate home care across Winchester and the surrounding communities, supporting individuals to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the heart of Hampshire, our team covers Winchester and neighbouring areas within the SO postcode region. Rather than asking people to adjust to an unfamiliar environment, we come to you, bringing our care into the familiar rhythms of your household, whether that means a quiet cottage, a family home, or a flat in town. This approach means the surroundings that bring comfort, memories, favourite chairs, garden views, treasured photographs, remain a constant part of daily life. Our care is shaped around the individual, and we support a broad range of needs. For older people, we provide gentle assistance with the everyday tasks that can become more difficult over time, from personal care and medication support to meal preparation and companionship. For those living with dementia, our team takes a patient, reassuring approach, focusing on routine, dignity, and calm familiarity to help reduce anxiety and preserve independence for as long as possible. We also support adults living with mental health conditions, offering steady, non judgemental care that respects each person's journey. For individuals with physical disabilities, we provide practical assistance with mobility, personal care, and daily living, always working at the pace that suits them. Our experience with visual and hearing impairments means we adapt how we communicate and support each person, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and never overlooked. We also extend our care to younger adults who benefit from tailored support to live fuller, more independent lives. In practice, this means families can expect care plans built around real people, not tick boxes. We take time to understand preferences, routines, cultural needs, and the small details that matter, the way tea is made, the television programme not to miss, the walk that lifts the mood. For relatives, particularly those living further afield, our involvement offers reassurance that a trusted presence is checking in, providing continuity, and communicating openly about any changes in wellbeing. As a newer registered provider, we are currently listed by the Care Quality Commission as Not Yet Rated. This simply means an initial inspection has not yet taken place. We welcome the CQC framework and hold ourselves to its standards from day one, focusing on safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led practice in every visit we make. Choosing home care is a significant decision, and we understand the weight families carry when exploring options for someone they love. If you would like to learn more about how we could support your relative in Winchester or the wider Hampshire area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We are here to listen, answer your questions honestly, and help you find the right path forward.

Whispers Care Solutions provides support at home for people in Winchester and the surrounding part of Hampshire. The people we visit include older people, many of them living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss and people managing mental health conditions. With a range that wide we do not pretend one approach suits everybody. We spend proper time at the start understanding how somebody lives, what they want help with and what they would rather keep doing themselves, and we then think carefully about which carer suits which person. The right match makes more difference than anything written in a plan, and once it is working we try to protect it by keeping the same small team visiting. Visits can cover personal care and medication, cooking, shopping and housework, support to get out into the community, or company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. Some people need one short call a day and others need several, or support overnight. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are glad to be asked about our training, our staffing and how we handle concerns. You should know who to ring and get a straight answer when you do. If you would like to talk about care at home in this area for yourself or a relative, please get in touch and we will explain the options honestly.

- Home Care
YourLife at Poundbury provides care to people living in their own homes in Dorchester and the surrounding area. We support older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing has changed. Our starting point is that somebody's home is their own and we are guests in it. The support we give should make daily life work better without taking it over. For many people that means help at the start and end of the day with washing, dressing, medication and meals. For others it is help to stay on top of appointments, shopping and the running of a household, or company and a check that all is well. We plan visits so that people see the same faces. Consistency is what allows trust to build, and it is how our staff notice the small changes, somebody eating less, sleeping badly or growing unsteady, that are worth acting on early. We agree what is needed with the person and whoever they want involved, write it down plainly and change it when their circumstances change rather than waiting for a scheduled review. We keep families informed, particularly those living at a distance. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to talk about support at home, we are happy to discuss it with no obligation.

- Home Care
We are Agincare in Dorchester, and we provide care in people's own homes across this part of Dorset. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Home care is worth doing properly because home holds so much. Your own routine, your own kitchen, the neighbours who notice you, the right to decide when to get up and what to have for tea. Losing those things is a genuine loss, and very often it can be put off for a long while with support that is reliable and well matched. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home. How does the day run now? What has become difficult? What do you still want to manage yourself, and where would a hand actually help? From those answers we agree the visits, which might be a single short call, several a day, or a longer stretch so that a relative caring full time can get out of the house properly. We revise the plan as needs move. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard to send the same carers to the same households. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission for this part of our work, which we mention plainly rather than leaving you to look it up. Ring us if you would like to talk it through.

- Home Care
Apex Prime Care in Dorchester provides support at home for people across the town and the surrounding part of Dorset. We cover a rural area, so we plan our rounds so that the times we promise are times we can actually keep. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat it as the standard we are expected to hold rather than an achievement to display, and we keep asking the people we support whether we are doing what we promised. If you would like to discuss care at home in this area, please get in touch.

At Crosspath Care, we provide home care support to people living in Colchester and the surrounding areas of Essex. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older people, younger adults, and those living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions or eating disorders. Our aim is straightforward: to help people live well in their own homes, on their own terms. We know that inviting a care agency into your home is a significant decision, and we do not take that trust lightly. From the very first conversation, we take time to understand what matters to each person, not just their care needs but their routines, preferences and the things that make their day feel right. That understanding shapes everything we do. Our team is experienced across a broad range of specialisms, which means we can support people whose needs are more complex, as well as those who simply need a helping hand to stay independent. We work closely with families too, keeping communication open and honest so that everyone involved feels informed and reassured. We are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistency and thoughtfulness our team brings to their work every day. It is something we work to maintain, not as a badge, but because it tells the people we support and their families that what we do actually holds up to scrutiny. If you are exploring care options for yourself or someone you love, we would genuinely welcome the chance to have a conversation. There is no pressure and no obligation. We are here to help you work out whether we are the right fit, and if we are, to get things moving in a way that feels manageable and right for you.

- Home Care
Home Instead Senior Care in Colchester supports older people in their own homes across the town and the surrounding area, including many people living with dementia. Our visits tend to be longer than is usual in this work, and that is deliberate. A great deal of what makes care at home valuable cannot be done in fifteen minutes. Sitting down with somebody. Noticing that they have eaten less this week, or that the post has not been opened. Having the conversation that leads to a problem being dealt with early rather than in an emergency. We would rather do fewer, better visits than more rushed ones. We match carers to people with some care, taking account of temperament and interests as well as the practical help required, and we keep those pairings steady. Being helped to wash and dress is a close thing to allow, and familiarity makes it far easier. Where a change is unavoidable we introduce the new carer properly rather than simply sending them. With dementia we pay close attention to timing, routine and familiar faces, because the same help at an unexpected hour from somebody unknown can frighten rather than help. We work with families rather than around them, including when the honest conversation is a difficult one. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we are glad to talk things through without obligation.

We at Intrigue Homecare are proud to provide compassionate home care across Colchester and the surrounding Essex communities, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Our team delivers personalised care that adapts to each individual's needs, routines and preferences. Based in the CO postcode area, we are well placed to reach families throughout Colchester and the wider region. Because our support is delivered in your own home, the familiar surroundings, cherished belongings and local community that mean so much to you remain at the heart of daily life. Whether you live in a bustling neighbourhood or a quieter corner of the county, our carers travel to you, bringing continuity, warmth and reliability to every visit. Our specialisms cover a broad spectrum of needs, allowing us to support a wide range of individuals and families. For older people, we offer gentle assistance with everyday tasks, companionship and help maintaining independence. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and understanding, focusing on familiar routines that bring comfort and reduce anxiety for both the person receiving care and their loved ones. We also support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, tailoring our approach so that each person feels heard, respected and empowered to make choices about their own life. For those managing mental health challenges, we provide steady, non judgemental support that promotes wellbeing and stability. Our care for people with physical disabilities focuses on practical assistance, mobility support and preserving dignity in every interaction. We are also experienced in supporting individuals with visual or hearing impairments, adapting how we communicate and assist so that no one feels isolated by their condition. Younger adults are equally welcomed, with support shaped around their goals, aspirations and lifestyle rather than assumptions about what care should look like. In practice, this breadth of expertise means families can rely on us as needs evolve over time. Whether you require a short daily visit, more intensive support, or specialist care for a complex condition, our team works closely with you and your loved ones to build a plan that feels right. We believe good home care is not simply about tasks completed; it is about the trust, kindness and consistency that carers bring to each visit. Intrigue Homecare holds an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, following their most recent inspection in May 2021. We achieved a Good rating across every domain assessed: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well led. For families, this independent recognition offers reassurance that our care meets the standards expected by the national regulator, and that our approach to safety, leadership and responsiveness has been reviewed and endorsed. We remain committed to building on these foundations, continually listening to those we support and refining how we work. Choosing home care for yourself or a family member is a significant decision, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options in Colchester or elsewhere in Essex, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Our team is happy to answer your questions, talk through what support might look like and help you feel confident about the next steps. Whatever your situation, you will find a friendly voice ready to listen, and a team dedicated to helping your loved one live well at home.

- Home Care
We at Butterfly's Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Colchester and the surrounding areas of Essex, supporting individuals to live well and safely within the comfort of their own homes. As a home care agency based in the CO postcode area, we bring our support directly to the people who matter most: you and your loved ones. Rather than asking individuals to adjust to an unfamiliar environment, we step into the spaces where memories have been made, routines feel natural, and independence is most cherished. Whether your loved one lives in a quiet residential street, a family home filled with decades of belongings, or a flat closer to the heart of Colchester, our team is ready to provide thoughtful care that fits seamlessly into daily life. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We provide dedicated older person care, supporting those in later life with everything from companionship and personal care to assistance with daily routines. Our dementia care is delivered with patience, understanding, and a focus on preserving dignity, helping individuals feel safe and reassured even as memory becomes more challenging. For families, this often brings enormous peace of mind, knowing a familiar, trained carer is there to gently guide their loved one through each day. We also offer specialist support for adults living with a learning disability or autism, working closely with each person to understand their preferences, communication style, and goals. Our mental health support is grounded in empathy and consistency, recognising that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health. For those with a physical disability or living with visual or hearing impairment, we tailor our approach to promote independence, accessibility, and confidence in everyday tasks. Younger adults receive care that respects their lifestyle, ambitions, and individuality. We understand that needing support at a younger age comes with its own set of considerations, and we work in partnership with each person to ensure care feels enabling rather than restrictive. In practice, this means our care plans are never one size fits all. We take time to listen to residents, family members, and any healthcare professionals involved, building a clear picture of what good care looks like for that individual. From there, we deliver consistent, reliable support that families can rely on, whether that involves a short morning visit, regular check ins throughout the day, or more comprehensive ongoing assistance. Butterfly's Care is currently awaiting its first formal CQC inspection and therefore does not yet hold a published rating. We welcome this future assessment as an opportunity to demonstrate the standards we hold ourselves to every day. In the meantime, we encourage families to speak with us directly, ask questions, and learn more about how we work. Transparency and open communication are central to the trust we aim to build with every household we support. Choosing care for someone you love is rarely a simple decision, and we understand the weight that comes with it. If you are exploring home care options in Colchester or the wider Essex area, we would be honoured to have a conversation with you. Reach out to learn more about how Butterfly's Care can support your family with warmth, professionalism, and genuine understanding.

We provide care at home in Colchester and the surrounding part of Essex. The people we support include older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Needs that varied cannot be met from a standard package, so we ask before we plan. For an older person, help often centres on personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house manageable. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, handling money and keeping appointments. Where somebody is living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried carer does more good than anything written down. We put real effort into continuity, sending the same carers to the same households wherever the rota allows. It spares people from explaining themselves repeatedly and means somebody is likely to notice when a person is unwell, in pain or unusually withdrawn. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can reach when a situation is unclear. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that openly with anyone considering us. If you are looking into care at home for yourself or a relative, please get in touch for an honest conversation.

Your Life Care Solutions supports people in their own homes in Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. Our work is chiefly with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, including younger adults who are building the life they want rather than winding one down. That focus shapes everything. Support here is not about doing things for people. It is about doing things with them, and gradually doing less as somebody becomes surer of themselves. For one person that might mean help with cooking, budgeting and keeping on top of post. For another it might mean going along to a college course or an appointment until it feels manageable alone, then stepping back. For a third it might be steady help with personal care so that the rest of the day is free for something better. We take communication seriously as a skill in its own right. Some of the people we support use words, some use signs, symbols or a device, and some tell us what they think through how they behave. We make it our business to learn each person's way rather than expecting them to learn ours. Families and circles of support are welcome in the conversation whenever the person wants them there, and firmly outside it when they do not. It is their life. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Do get in touch if you would like to talk about support.

Here at Gracious Home Care, we provide personalised home care support to people living in Chichester and the surrounding areas of West Sussex. Our work centres on helping individuals remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, with the right level of care tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. We support a range of people, including older adults who may need help with everyday tasks, personal care, or companionship, as well as younger adults who require assistance to live as independently as possible. We understand that no two people are the same, so we take time to get to know each person we support, along with their family or those close to them, before agreeing how care should be delivered. Being based in Chichester means we are part of this community. We know the area well and that matters to us, because care works best when it feels local, familiar and genuinely connected to the person receiving it. Whether someone needs us for a short visit each day or more regular ongoing support, we aim to be consistent, reliable and respectful at every step. We believe that good care comes down to listening carefully and acting thoughtfully. That means being honest with the people we support, keeping them involved in decisions about their own care, and treating everyone with the dignity they deserve. We also keep families informed and welcome open communication, because we know how important it is for relatives to feel reassured about their loved one's wellbeing. As a home care agency, we are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we take our responsibilities seriously. We are committed to continuing to improve how we work and to providing care that genuinely makes a difference to the people who choose us.

Tallulah Care provides support to people in their own homes in Colchester and the surrounding parts of Essex. We work with older people and with younger adults who need a hand to manage day to day, and our purpose is to make staying at home a realistic option for as long as somebody wants it. We are a local team, and the people we visit are our neighbours. That matters more than it might sound, because it means we plan our rounds sensibly, we turn up when we have said we will, and we notice when something is not quite right. A carer who knows somebody well can tell the difference between a quiet morning and a worrying one. The support itself is agreed in advance and shaped around the person. It might be help to get up, wash and dress, prompting or assisting with medication, preparing meals and drinks, laundry and housework, help to move safely around the home, or getting out to the shops and to appointments. For many of the people we visit, company is a large part of the value of a call, and we do not treat conversation as the first thing to be cut when time is short. We write the plan down so that everyone knows what has been arranged, and we review it as needs change. Our carers are trained and supervised properly, and we keep the same people visiting the same homes. If you are looking into care at home in Colchester, please call us.

People stay in the place they know best, surrounded by their own belongings, routines and memories. For many of the people we support, that continuity makes an enormous difference to their wellbeing. We are based in Rochester and have a good understanding of the local community here in Medway and Swale. We work closely with families, GPs, social workers and other professionals to make sure the right support is in place at the right time, and we are always willing to have an honest conversation about what someone needs, even when that involves some difficult questions. If you would like to find out more about how we might be able to help, please do get in touch. We are always happy to talk things through.

- Home Care
Here at Bentley Health Homecare, we provide professional and compassionate home care to people living in Colchester and the surrounding areas of Essex. We believe that receiving the right support at home can make an enormous difference to someone's quality of life, and that is exactly what we set out to deliver every single day. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older people, younger adults, and those living with dementia or a physical disability. We also support people with visual and hearing impairments, and we take the time to understand what each person needs before putting anything in place. No two people are the same, and the care we provide reflects that. Our team works closely with individuals and their families to build support that fits around real life. Whether someone needs a short visit in the morning or more regular assistance throughout the week, we will always aim to match the right carer to the right person. Consistency and familiarity matter, and we do our best to ensure the people we support see familiar faces rather than a constant stream of different carers. For those living with dementia, we understand how important it is to have carers who communicate calmly and patiently, and who can adapt to changing needs over time. We approach every visit with that same thoughtfulness, regardless of the level of support required. We are based in Colchester and are proud to be part of this community. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and we welcome any questions from prospective clients or their families about how we work. If you would like to find out more about how we might be able to help you or someone you care about, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are always happy to have a conversation.

- Home Care
At Everyday Recruitment Agency, we provide home care support to people living in Chichester and the surrounding areas of West Sussex. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We understand that inviting someone into your home to provide support is a big decision, and we do not take that trust lightly. Our focus is on making sure each person we support feels comfortable, respected, and genuinely listened to. Care is not one size fits all, and we take the time to understand what matters most to each individual so that the support we provide actually fits their life. We are proud to have received a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the standard of care our team works hard to maintain every day. That rating matters to us, not because of what it says on paper, but because it reflects real experiences of real people we have supported. Our team works across a broad range of needs, which means we have the knowledge and experience to support people through different stages and circumstances. Whether someone needs help with everyday tasks, companionship, or more complex care, we aim to be consistent, reliable, and straightforward to work with. Being based in Chichester means we are genuinely local. We know the area, we understand the community, and we are easy to reach when families or individuals have questions or concerns. If you are looking for home care support for yourself or someone you care about, we would be happy to have a conversation about how we might be able to help. There is no obligation, just an honest chat about what you need.

- Home Care
Everkind Support is a home care agency working across Manchester and the wider conurbation, visiting people in their own homes. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with a physical disability. We start from what somebody wants to keep hold of. The answers are usually specific and modest: making their own breakfast, getting to the shops on a Saturday, managing the stairs, keeping the flat how they like it. Support that protects those things is worth having. Support that quietly takes them over is easier to deliver and much worse for the person, so we try to do as little as necessary and as much as needed. The practical work includes personal care, medication managed and recorded properly, meals cooked, help with the house, and support to move about safely indoors. For people with a physical disability we take the trouble to learn how that individual wants to be assisted with moving and transfers, because the right method is specific to the person and guessing causes pain and fear. Manchester traffic is what it is, so we plan rounds that can actually be achieved rather than ones that look impressive on paper. Being late is a failure, not an inconvenience. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are happy to explain how we recruit, train and supervise our carers, and to introduce you to whoever would be visiting you.

Arranging and funding home care in Chester
Starting with a care needs assessment
Almost every arrangement begins with a care needs assessment. This is a free conversation, usually held at home, in which a social care practitioner looks at washing, dressing, medication, meals, mobility and how safely someone manages overnight. Anyone who appears to need support has a right to one, regardless of income or savings. You can request an assessment yourself or on behalf of a relative, and it is worth doing early, because the written outcome becomes the reference point for everything that follows.
Who pays and how funding is decided
Once needs are agreed, a separate financial assessment looks at income and capital to work out what, if anything, the council will contribute. Cheshire West and Chester Council is the authority responsible for both the needs assessment and any funded support in this area, and it can arrange care directly or offer a direct payment so that a family chooses its own agency. Where the capital threshold is exceeded the arrangement is self funded, although the council will still carry out the assessment and give advice.
Understanding the cost of visits
Home care is normally charged by the hour or by the visit, so the weekly figure depends entirely on how often carers come and for how long. Short calls a few times a day cost less than continuous cover, but the hourly rate tends to be higher for very brief visits and for nights, weekends and bank holidays. Ask any agency for a written schedule of charges that covers travel, cancellations and rising need, and confirm whether the quoted rate changes once a package grows. Anyone paying for their own care should also ask whether the agency reviews its rates annually and how much notice it gives of an increase.
Choosing between home care agencies in Chester
Reading the CQC rating properly
The 531 agencies listed here carry the whole spread of inspection outcomes, from Outstanding through Good and Requires Improvement to Inadequate, with a large group not yet rated. A rating is a summary, not a verdict on the carers who will actually visit, so open the report itself. The findings on safe care and on whether the service is well led matter most for home visits, and a newly registered agency with no rating is not automatically a poor choice. Check the date of the inspection too, since an older report may describe a service that has changed hands or changed manager since the inspectors called.
Questions worth asking before you sign
Reliability is what families notice first, so ask how many different carers will attend in a typical fortnight, what happens when the regular carer is unwell, and how late a call has to be before the office tells you. Check that the care plan is written with the person receiving support rather than about them, and ask how it is reviewed. Notice periods, out of hours contact and the process for raising a concern are all worth confirming in writing before anything starts. If you can, speak to someone already using the agency, because a candid account of whether carers arrive when they say they will is the most useful evidence you will gather.
Frequently asked questions about home care in Chester
How many home care agencies are there in Chester?
Chester has 531 CQC registered home care agencies: 13 Outstanding, 252 Good, 23 Requires improvement, 3 Inadequate, 240 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.
How much does home care cost in Chester?
Hourly care visits, North West: £25.00 to £28.90 an hour. Middle half of prices from 9 agencies. Median £26.58. Shown for North West because too few Manchester agencies publish a rate. Published prices come from agencies that publish rates, so treat them as a guide. Ask the agency for its own price.
Which home care agencies in Chester were inspected most recently?
Faiths Care (29 September 2026), Home Instead Chichester & Bognor Regis (23 September 2026) and Carerecruit Solutions Limited (8 September 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.
Can Cheshire West and Chester Council pay for home care in Chester?
It can, depending on the outcome of a needs assessment and a financial assessment. The council looks first at whether the level of need meets the national eligibility threshold, then at income and capital to decide what you contribute. Support may arrive as commissioned care or as a direct payment that lets you choose your own agency. Where savings sit above the threshold the care is self funded, but the council still owes you the assessment and practical advice.
How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Chester?
Contact the adult social care team at Cheshire West and Chester Council and ask for a care needs assessment. A GP, district nurse or hospital discharge team can also make the referral if that is easier. The assessment is free and is not means tested, so there is no reason to delay it while you work out finances. Keep a short note of the difficulties you have noticed, because concrete examples are far more useful to the assessor than general worry.
How far ahead should I start looking for home care?
Start sooner than feels necessary, ideally while the person still has the energy to take part in the decision. Assessments, financial checks and the agency assessment visit each take time, and good providers in a given postcode sometimes have no capacity for the exact call times you want. A few weeks of lead time turns an urgent scramble into an ordinary choice. Hospital discharge moves much faster, so if that is the situation, say so when you ring the council.
Which providers in Chester offer home care?
531 providers match this search, all of them agencies registered with the Care Quality Commission to deliver personal care in people's own homes. They run from national names to small local offices, and each one has a profile here setting out its rating and registration details. Coverage is by postcode rather than by town boundary, so confirm that an agency actually visits the street in question. Use the listing to build a shortlist, then check the inspection report for each.
What should I ask when a home care agency visits to assess?
Ask who will carry out the visits, how continuity is protected and what the agency does when a carer calls in sick. Find out how medication is recorded, how the office is contacted outside working hours and how quickly a care plan can change if someone comes out of hospital needing more help. Request a copy of the charges in writing, including travel and cancellation terms. Finally, ask how complaints are handled and how often the package will be reviewed.
What is the difference between a care home and a nursing home?
A care home provides accommodation with help for daily living such as washing, dressing, meals and company, delivered by care staff. A nursing home offers all of that plus a registered nurse on duty around the clock for conditions that need clinical oversight, such as complex wounds, tube feeding or unstable long term illness. The registration held with the Care Quality Commission shows which category a setting falls into. Home care differs from both, because support comes to the person rather than the person moving.
