Our visits tend to be longer than is usual in this work, and that is deliberate. A great deal of what makes care at home valuable cannot be done in fifteen minutes. Sitting down with somebody. Noticing that they have eaten less this week, or that the post has not been opened. Having the conversation that leads to a problem being dealt with early rather than in an emergency. We would rather do fewer, better visits than more rushed ones.
