How do we arrange a care needs assessment in Grays?

Contact the adult social care team at Thurrock Council and ask for an assessment of care and support needs. The request can be made by the person themselves, by a relative acting on their behalf, or by a professional such as a hospital discharge team or general practitioner. Can Thurrock Council pay for care?

Arranging and funding care at home in Grays

The care needs assessment

Working out how much help is actually needed is harder than it looks from inside a family. A care needs assessment does it independently, free of charge, and anyone who appears to need care and support can ask for one whatever their savings. The assessor considers washing, dressing, meals, medication, mobility, memory and safety at home, then records which needs are eligible.
