    • Home Care

Mears Care in St Neots is a home care agency supporting adults in their own homes across the area. The people we work with are a wide mix: older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, people managing a mental health condition, people living with an eating disorder and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. Because that range is so broad, we match care workers to people deliberately rather than filling slots on a rota, and we train for the situations they will actually meet. Half an hour of personal care in the morning and a visit that is mostly about structure and a reliable presence through a hard week are not the same job. Support is agreed with the individual and with anyone they want involved, written in plain language and revisited as circumstances change. Where other professionals are already involved, we work alongside them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are arranging support at home locally, please get in touch. We will be honest about what we can do and about where somebody else would suit you better.

    • Home Care

We are a home care agency in Cambridge, supporting older people in their own homes, including many living with dementia. We have kept our focus deliberately narrow, and we think that is worth saying plainly rather than presenting ourselves as able to do everything. Supporting older people well, particularly people living with dementia, asks for a specific kind of patience and a specific kind of consistency, and we would rather be genuinely good at that than adequate across a much wider range. With dementia, continuity does most of the work. The same carer at the same time, doing things in the same order, in a home where nothing has been moved, makes a real difference to how somebody copes. Protecting that means building the rota around people rather than around convenience. We also ask families for the history, the working life and the names, because a carer who understands what somebody means rather than only what they said is doing a different and better job. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that openly. Families are welcome to ask how we recruit, train and check our carers, to meet the people who would be visiting, and to judge us on what they actually experience week to week.

    • Home Care

We are a home care agency working in Cambridge and the surrounding area, supporting people in their own homes. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. People usually come to us at a point of change: a fall, a stay in hospital, a diagnosis, or the gradual realisation that managing alone has become harder than it used to be. Our job is to put enough support around that for life to carry on at home. For some people a single morning visit for washing, dressing and medication is enough. Others need calls through the day and into the evening, help with meals and shopping, and support to move about the house safely. Continuity is the part we work hardest at. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are unwell, in pain or unusually quiet, and the person is spared explaining themselves again and again. For people living with dementia it matters a great deal more than that. Our carers are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach a senior colleague whenever they need advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are glad to discuss that openly. If you are considering care at home, please get in touch and we will be honest about what we can provide.

    • Home Care

We at Ranis Healthcare are proud to offer compassionate home care across Huntingdon and the surrounding Cambridgeshire communities, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. Based in the PE postcode area, we serve individuals and families throughout Huntingdon and its neighbouring villages. Being a home care agency means our care comes to you, thoughtfully tailored to your household, your routines, and the familiar surroundings that bring comfort and continuity. Whether you live in a family home, a bungalow, or supported accommodation, our team works around your environment to deliver care that feels natural and unobtrusive. Our specialisms cover a broad spectrum of needs, allowing us to walk alongside people at many different stages of life. We support older people who value a little extra help to maintain their independence, whilst also caring for younger adults whose circumstances mean they benefit from personalised assistance at home. For families navigating dementia, our approach is patient, gentle, and centred on preserving dignity, using familiar routines and calm reassurance to reduce anxiety and promote wellbeing. We also provide care for individuals living with physical disabilities, offering practical support with mobility, personal care, and daily living tasks in a way that respects each person's autonomy and preferences. For those living with visual or hearing impairment, we adapt how we communicate and how we assist, ensuring that our presence in the home is helpful rather than overwhelming. In practice, this means taking the time to understand each person's world, listening closely to families, and building trusted relationships that grow stronger over time. Families often tell us that reliable, familiar faces make all the difference, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out on 11 March 2026, awarded us an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We want to be open about this. Within that inspection, we were rated Good for Caring, which reflects the warmth, kindness, and genuine compassion our team brings to every visit. In the areas of Safe, Effective, Responsive, and Well-led, the CQC identified aspects where we need to do better, and we accept that feedback wholeheartedly. We are actively working through a clear improvement plan, strengthening our practices, deepening staff training, and refining how we listen and respond to the people we support. Transparency matters to us, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss our progress openly with any family considering our care. If you are exploring home care options in Huntingdon for a loved one, we understand that this can be an emotional and sometimes overwhelming journey. Please feel free to reach out to us for a friendly, no obligation conversation. We would be delighted to answer your questions, share more about how we work, and help you decide whether we might be the right fit for your family. Whatever you decide, we wish you every reassurance in finding the care that feels right.

    • Home Care

We support people in their own homes in Huntingdon and across Cambridgeshire. Much of our work is with adults who have learning disabilities and with autistic adults, alongside older people and younger adults moving towards living independently. We begin with what the person wants their life to look like rather than with a list of tasks. For many of those we support, our purpose is not to do things for them but to make it possible for them to do things themselves, and then to step back. That covers cooking, managing money, getting to a job or a course, using the bus, and dealing with the everyday business that can be genuinely daunting on your own. Predictability is central to this work. Knowing who is coming and when, being told about changes in good time, and not having arrangements altered casually are often what separates a manageable week from a difficult one. We take that seriously because the cost of getting it wrong falls on the person rather than on us. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people we support what we should be doing differently, and we act on the answers rather than filing them politely.

We are Bee's Care in Huntingdon, a home care agency supporting adults in their own homes across this part of Cambridgeshire. We support older people and people living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need help with daily life. Depending on the person, that might be one short call a day or several visits covering personal care, medication, meals, housework, shopping and company. Because we are guests in somebody's home, they set the terms. We ask how things are usually done and we do them that way rather than arriving with a system of our own. We agree the times that suit and we keep to them, since a late call is no small matter when somebody is waiting to get up or needs their tablets. Wherever we can we send the same small group of workers, because a familiar face is easier to let in. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we have, please ask us direct questions about how we recruit, train and supervise our staff, what happens when a visit runs late, and who you can reach at the weekend.

    • Home Care

We are a home care agency based in Huntingdon, supporting people across Cambridgeshire in their own homes. We arrange visits around the routines somebody already has rather than around what suits a rota, and we aim to keep the same carers going to the same people. We support older people who need help with the everyday tasks that have become harder, personal care, medication, meals, shopping and getting out safely. We support people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than any amount of written instruction handed to a stranger. We also work with adults managing mental health conditions, where reliability and being genuinely listened to count for a great deal, and with younger adults, whose priorities are often about getting on with ordinary life rather than being kept safe indoors. Covering a spread out county brings its own difficulties, and we would rather be honest about travel and timings than promise something we cannot deliver. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that plainly. Until then, hold us to the practical points.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Cambridge and the surrounding area, supporting older adults, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss and younger adults. We spend real time on the first conversation, in the person's own home, and we want the person themselves to lead it rather than the family or the referral form. Families arrive with a list of tasks, understandably, because they have been worrying. The person usually wants to talk about something else, and that second conversation is the one that produces a plan worth following. After that the work depends on organisation rather than inspiration: turning up when we said, with somebody the person recognises, having read what was written after the last visit. Where sight or hearing has gone we agree how we will announce ourselves and every carer uses the same approach, because walking in and simply talking makes a visit harder before it has begun. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that plainly than write around the gap. Ask us how we recruit and train, and meet the carers beforehand.

    • Home Care

CHS Homecare provides care and support to older people in their own homes across Melbourn and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. Home care works best when it fits quietly around a life that is already there, and that is what we aim for. A visit might involve help with washing and dressing, support with medication, preparing a meal, shopping, laundry or keeping on top of the house. For many of the people we see it also means a familiar face at a predictable time, which does more good than it is usually given credit for. We start with an assessment at home and an honest conversation. We want to understand what already works in the household, what has become difficult and what the person actually wants help with. Some people need a great deal of support and some need surprisingly little, and it is our job to say so rather than to recommend a bigger package than is warranted. The plan belongs to the person, and family are part of it when the person wants them involved. Reliability is what people notice most. We keep to agreed times as closely as we can, we let people know when something changes, and we try hard to send the same carers. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support at home.

    • Home Care

CorderCare provides care at home for people living in Wisbech and the surrounding Cambridgeshire villages. Home care is the whole of what we do, and we think there is something to be said for doing one thing and doing it properly. Our carers visit people in their own homes to help with the things that have become difficult. That might be getting up and dressed in the morning, managing medication, preparing meals, moving about the house safely, or keeping on top of the ordinary domestic jobs that quietly become obstacles. For some people a short daily visit is enough to keep everything ticking along. For others we are there several times a day, or at the end of the day when the house feels emptiest. We plan our support with the person rather than for them, and we keep the arrangement under review as circumstances change. Wherever we can, we send the same carers to the same households, because familiarity is what turns a visit from an intrusion into something people look forward to. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. Rural areas can make care harder to arrange, so if you are unsure whether we can reach you, please ask. We will be straight with you about what we can cover and how soon we could start.

    • Home Care

MS Care provides support in people's own homes in Ely and across Cambridgeshire. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and younger adults. We think good home care is quiet, reliable and shaped around the person rather than the rota. Before support begins we take proper time to work out what would genuinely help, what somebody would rather do for themselves and how they like things done in their own house. Then we build a small, settled team around them, so the person at the door is someone they recognise. Support covers personal care, medication, meals, mobility, shopping and keeping a household running, and it can range from one short call a day to a package covering most of it. We are used to working alongside district nurses, GPs, social workers and family carers, and we try to make that coordination our job rather than the family's. For people living with dementia, consistency of face and timing is the most useful thing we can offer, so we protect it. Where we support people with mental health needs we aim to be the steady and predictable part of the week. For younger adults we plan around work, study and family life rather than around our rota. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering care at home in Cambridgeshire, please get in touch and we will talk it through honestly.

Helping Hands Cambridge provides care and support in people's own homes across Cambridge and the surrounding area. We visit older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We put weight on the length of a visit. A great deal of what makes home care worth having cannot be done at speed: a proper conversation, a meal eaten together rather than left on a tray, a walk that is not rushed. When calls are cut too short everything becomes a task and the person becomes a list, so we build time into what we do and we expect our carers to sit down. The practical help covers washing and dressing, medication, meals, moving safely around the house, household jobs, shopping, appointments and getting out. Some households want a single weekly visit and others need several calls a day. For people living with dementia we hold to familiar carers at familiar times and follow the routines already working in that household. Where sight or hearing loss is part of things, the small habits matter most: announcing ourselves, leaving furniture where it lives, checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and working. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.

Dalord Healthcare supports people in their own homes in Huntingdon and across the surrounding part of Cambridgeshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have physical disabilities, and with people living with sight or hearing loss. Most people contact us at a point of change, often after a fall, a spell in hospital or a diagnosis that has made the everyday harder. We begin by sitting down with the person and whoever they want present, working out what has actually become difficult, and putting in enough support to keep home workable without taking over the parts of life somebody still wants to run themselves. In practice that means help with getting up and going to bed, washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals, shopping and keeping the house in order, and being dependable about when we arrive. It also means paying attention, because the carer who visits each morning is often the first to know that a person is eating less or becoming unsteady. We keep the group of carers visiting each household small and familiar, and we build travelling time into our rounds so that nobody is rushing between calls. If you are arranging care at home around Huntingdon, please contact us and we will come out, listen and be clear about what we can offer.

We support older people, adults living with dementia or mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults who want to live independently. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Most of the people we visit have made it clear they want to stay in their own home, and our job is to make that realistic. That might be a short call each morning so the day begins properly, or several visits covering personal care, medication, meals and company, or support to get out and keep up with friends, groups and appointments. We plan support with the person rather than around them, write it down in plain language and review it whenever things change. We keep our rounds local so people see familiar faces, and we introduce new carers rather than sending someone unannounced. Noticing matters as much as doing. A carer who knows someone well spots a change in appetite, mood or steadiness, and we expect those things to be raised early rather than left until they become urgent. TCS Homecare in Histon supports people in their own homes across Cambridge and the surrounding Cambridgeshire villages. We believe home is usually the best place to be cared for, and our work is about making that practical rather than simply hopeful. The people we visit are varied. We support older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication and meals. We support people living with dementia, keeping carers consistent so that a familiar face comes through the door. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, and people with sight or hearing loss, and we support younger adults who want help on their own terms. How we work matters to us. A care plan is written with the person, not about them. We arrive when we say we will, we do not rush the visit, and we tell families honestly if something has changed. Where somebody communicates in a particular way, our staff learn it before they start rather than after. Support can be as light as a short daily call or as involved as several visits a day, and it can be increased or reduced as things change. We would rather review often than assume. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are weighing up options, please ring us and we will talk it through with you honestly.

Others need several visits, help with medication, support to get out to appointments, or longer periods of company for somebody who would otherwise spend the day alone. We agree it all with the person before anything begins and put it in plain writing. We think the quality of home care rests on the people who deliver it, so we take trouble over who we send and we pay attention to whether carers and the people they visit actually get on. Where we can, the same carers go to the same homes, week in and week out. When needs change, and they generally do, we revisit the arrangement rather than leaving it in place out of habit. If somebody needs more than home care can safely provide, we say so. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss support.

    • Home Care

We at Gifted Quality Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across Cambridge and the wider Cambridgeshire area, supporting people to live well and safely in the place they know best: their own home. As a dedicated home care provider, we bring personalised support directly to your doorstep, removing the upheaval of moving away from familiar surroundings. Operating from our Cambridge base within the CB postcode area, we are well placed to reach families throughout the city and surrounding villages in the East of England. Cambridge is a community with a rich blend of historic neighbourhoods, modern developments, and quiet rural fringes, and our team travels to wherever you call home, whether that is a city centre flat, a suburban bungalow, or a country cottage. Because care is delivered in your own environment, you remain surrounded by your cherished belongings, your routines, and the people who matter most. Our care offering is deliberately broad so that we can meet a wide spectrum of needs across the generations. We support older people who value a little extra help to maintain their independence, alongside younger adults navigating their own care journeys. For those living with dementia, we provide patient, consistent support that prioritises dignity, familiarity, and gentle routine, which can be especially comforting as memory changes over time. Families often tell us that knowing the same friendly faces will be visiting brings enormous peace of mind. For adults with a learning disability or autism, we focus on enabling choice, building confidence, and supporting daily life in a way that respects each individual's preferences and pace. Our mental health support is grounded in empathy and consistency, recognising that emotional wellbeing is just as vital as physical health. We also assist people with physical disabilities, helping with mobility, personal care, and the practical tasks of everyday living so that independence is preserved wherever possible. For those with visual or hearing impairments, we adapt our communication and approach to make sure every interaction feels clear, respectful, and unhurried. In practice, this means our care plans are never one size fits all. We take time to listen, understanding not only what support is needed but also what makes each person feel truly themselves, from a favourite morning routine to the way they like their tea. Families are kept informed and involved, because we believe good care is a partnership between our team, the person we support, and their loved ones. As a newer presence on the Care Quality Commission register, our service is currently awaiting its first formal inspection rating. Whilst we do not yet have a published CQC judgement to share, we are fully registered and regulated, and we hold ourselves to the high standards set out by the Commission every single day. We welcome conversations with families about how we work, the training our team undertakes, and the safeguards we have in place, so you can feel confident in the care being provided long before any inspection report is published. Choosing home care is a significant decision, and we understand the worry that can come with it. If you are exploring options for yourself or a loved one in Cambridge or across Cambridgeshire, we would be delighted to talk things through, answer your questions honestly, and arrange a no obligation conversation about how we might help. Please reach out whenever you are ready; warm, attentive support is only a phone call away.

    • Home Care

Lilyrose Care Group supports people in their own homes in Huntingdon and across Cambridgeshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, and with people who have physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment. Home care works best when it is built around the life somebody already has rather than imposed on top of it. So we start by asking what the day currently looks like, what has become difficult, and what a person most wants to hold onto. Sometimes the answer is practical help with washing, dressing, medication and meals. Sometimes it is the support that makes it possible to get out of the house, keep an appointment or stay involved with family and friends. We try to send the same carers to the same people. That continuity matters for anybody, and a great deal for somebody living with dementia, for whom an unfamiliar face at the door can turn an ordinary morning into a distressing one. It also means our staff notice when something is not right and can raise it early. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

We are a home care agency based in Cambridge, and we support people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. Staying at home is what most people want, and our job is to make that possible for as long as it sensibly can be. The support we provide is arranged around what each person actually needs. For some that is a short visit in the morning to help with washing, dressing and breakfast. For others it is several calls a day covering personal care, medication, meals and the practical business of keeping a household running. We support older people, people living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who want to live independently with the right help in place. We try hard to keep the same small group of carers visiting the same people. Consistency is what turns a care visit into a relationship, and it is also what means someone notices when a person is not quite themselves. Our carers are trained for the work they are asked to do and are supported properly by the office team. Before anything begins we visit, talk things through with the person and with family if they want that, and agree a plan together. Please contact us if you would like to discuss support.

We are Huntingdon, a home care agency working in Huntingdon and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. We support older people and younger adults in their own homes, including people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Almost everybody who contacts us wants the same outcome, which is for somebody to carry on living in their own home. That is what we try to make workable, whether it means a single visit each morning so the day starts safely or several calls covering personal care, medication, meals, getting about and keeping a household going. Because we are working in somebody else's home, how we behave there counts as much as what we do. Asking before moving anything. Putting things back exactly where they were, which for a person who cannot see well is a matter of safety rather than tidiness. Arriving when we said we would. We send the same carers to the same people wherever the rota allows, and we raise concerns with families early rather than waiting for a crisis. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating.

We provide care in people's own homes in St Neots and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. Our work is with older people who want to carry on living in the house they know, with enough support to make that realistic. What that looks like differs from person to person. For some it is a single morning call to help with washing and dressing and to get breakfast under way. For others it is several visits through the day covering medication, meals, laundry and some company. Our aim is to cover what has become difficult and leave alone what has not, because taking over more than is needed helps nobody. We keep a small team around each person so that the carer at the door is somebody they know. It matters for the person, and it means our carers notice early when something has changed, which often lets us raise a concern with family or a GP before it becomes serious. We start with a visit and an unhurried conversation at home. The plan is built around the routine that already exists and reviewed as things move on. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring if you would like to talk it through.

    • Home Care

Cambridge Care Solutions provides support at home to adults in Cambridge and the surrounding area. We visit older people who need help to keep living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and younger adults who need support to manage independently. Our visits cover personal care given without rushing, prompting and support with medication, meals, laundry, shopping and help to get out to appointments or simply out for a change of scene. Some people need a single short call a day, others several longer ones, and needs shift over time, so we review arrangements honestly rather than letting a care plan sit unchanged. Two things take up most of our attention. One is arriving when we said we would, because a visit at an unpredictable hour causes more anxiety than it relieves. The other is sending people the person already knows, because nobody should have to explain themselves afresh every week, and a familiar carer is the one who notices that something has changed. That noticing is often what keeps a person out of hospital. For people with a physical disability we pay particular attention to equipment, moving and handling, and above all to allowing enough time, since rushing is where dignity and safety are both lost. Please get in touch if you are arranging care at home locally.

Home Instead Cambridge supports adults in their own homes in Cambridge and the surrounding villages. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. We also support people with eating disorders and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse, where reliability and an absence of judgement matter more than anything else we could offer. Our visits cover personal care, medicines, meals, the household, shopping and getting out and about, arranged around the person's day rather than a rota. Some people want a short call each morning. Others need several visits, or longer stretches of support. Company is a legitimate reason for us to be there, and we treat it as such. Continuity is what makes home care work. Being helped to wash by somebody you have never met is genuinely difficult, and for anybody living with dementia an unfamiliar face can unsettle an entire morning. So we keep the team around each person small and give notice when a change is unavoidable. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. What sits behind it is unglamorous: arriving when we said we would, sending people who already know you, and training our care workers properly before they start.

We provide care at home in Huntingdon and the surrounding part of Cambridgeshire. The people we support include older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Needs that varied cannot be met from a standard package, so we ask before we plan. For an older person, help often centres on personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house manageable, and often on company as much as anything practical. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, handling money and keeping appointments. Where somebody is living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried carer does more good than anything written down. Continuity is what we work hardest at. We try to send the same carers to the same households, because that familiarity is what allows somebody to notice when a person is unwell, in pain or unusually withdrawn, and it spares people from explaining themselves over and over. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can reach. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Staying at home is what most people want, and with sensible support in place it is often entirely achievable. Our job is to work out what that support actually needs to be, which means starting with the day as it stands rather than with a menu of options. What has become difficult. What somebody most wants to hold onto. Where a little help would make all the difference, and where it would simply be interference. From there our carers help with personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out of the house. We would always rather help somebody regain independence after an illness than build a package they do not need and cannot easily reduce. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are happy to talk through what would help before anything is agreed.

We ask what somebody actually wants rather than handing them a standard package, and we would sooner change an arrangement that has stopped suiting them than leave it running out of habit. We support people living with dementia, where a familiar face arriving at an expected time does more good than any amount of organised activity. We work with people who have physical disabilities, helping with washing, dressing and mobility in a way that leaves the person deciding how it is done, and with people who have a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we announce ourselves, speak and explain what we are about to do. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We would rather say so directly and ask families to judge us on the practical measures instead: whether we arrive when we said, whether the same care workers keep coming back, and whether somebody who knows the situation answers the phone when there is a problem. Because the range of people we support is wide, we match care workers to individuals deliberately rather than filling slots, and we train for what they will actually meet. Most of our work is with older adults. Depending on what somebody needs, that might be a short call to help with washing, dressing and medication, help with meals and shopping, or longer visits for people who need closer support and company through the day. We would always rather change a plan that has stopped fitting than keep it going because it was what we agreed at the start, so we check in and adjust as things move. We also support younger adults who need care at home. Their weeks tend to be organised around work, study, family or simply having a life of their own, and support should work around those things rather than dominate them. Wherever we can, we send the same small group of care workers to each person, because familiarity is what allows somebody to relax and what allows our staff to notice a change early. Connect Nursing Cambridge provides nursing and personal care in Cambridge and the surrounding part of Cambridgeshire, both for people living in our home and for people we support in their own homes. We care for older people and for younger adults whose health needs require qualified nursing, including people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays for shorter periods. Having nurses in the team means that someone whose health is complex or changing can be looked after properly without having to move on again. We work closely with doctors, district nurses and therapists whenever a person's condition alters, and clinical care is given with the same regard for privacy and dignity as every other part of the day. Nursing is only part of life, and we try never to let it become the whole of someone's day. We ask people about their history, their work, their family, their faith and their food, and we build the shape of the day around those answers rather than around the rota. Mobility and independence are protected wherever possible, and we would rather support someone to do something slowly for themselves than do it quickly for them. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are regulated by them and are building the care planning, records and oversight that a good inspection outcome requires.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Wisbech and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. Those we support include older adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Our work covers personal care, medication, meals, shopping and keeping a household running, together with the company a regular visit brings. We aim it at what has genuinely become difficult rather than taking over what somebody can still manage themselves. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather put that here than have a family find it elsewhere and wonder why we said nothing about it. We accept what was identified and we are working through it. We are not going to claim in a paragraph that everything is resolved, because that would not be honest. What we would ask is that anybody considering us puts the question to us directly and presses for specifics: what was found, what has changed, and what is still in hand. We would also encourage people to speak to those we already visit, since their account of us is worth considerably more than ours.

    • Home Care

Nichols Court provides care to people in their own homes in Cambridge and the surrounding area. The people we visit cover a broad range. Most are older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We begin with a conversation rather than a form. What can you still do for yourself. What has become difficult. What would you rather we left alone entirely. From that we agree a plan, write it in plain language, and change it when things change, because they usually do. Where dementia is involved we take our lead from the family, who already know which words work and which part of the day is hard. Where sight or hearing has gone we attend to the detail that is easy to skip, including how we announce ourselves at a door and saying what we are about to do before we do it. Where a physical disability is involved the work is often about equipment, patience and allowing time. We try to send the same small group of workers to each person, because being recognised at the door is worth more than any policy. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and we will come out and listen first.

    • Home Care

Westminster Homecare in Cambridge supports people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with a physical disability and younger adults. We also support people living with eating disorders and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. We take on a broad range of need on purpose. People's circumstances rarely stay neatly in one category, and being able to keep supporting somebody as things change matters more than tidy specialisms. Our visits cover personal care, medication support, meals, help around the house and getting out and about. For younger adults and for people with a learning disability, the work is often less about personal care and more about making an ordinary week workable. Alongside the tasks sits the quieter part of the job, which is noticing. Someone eating less, a sore area starting, a person who has gone quiet. A carer who visits regularly sees that long before any review would, which is why we keep the same carers with the same people. Where we support people with eating disorders or with addiction, we work without judgement and alongside the clinicians involved. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.

    • Home Care

Better Home Care supports people in their own homes in Cambridge and the surrounding area. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. We assess at home, with whoever the person wants present, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. The plan is agreed rather than issued and it changes when circumstances do. Support may be a single short call each day, visits at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. Across that spread of needs, training is a practical matter. A carer supporting an autistic person, one supporting somebody in the later stages of dementia and one supporting somebody with poor sight each need different knowledge, and ours have it before they go out to anybody. We hold onto continuity as firmly as the rota allows and tell people in advance when a new carer is coming. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.

    • Home Care

Availl is a home care agency in Cambridge, supporting people in their own homes across Cambridgeshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people living with mental health needs or a physical disability, with people affected by an eating disorder and with people whose lives have been touched by alcohol or drug misuse. Taking on that range obliges us to be careful rather than casual about matching. The support that helps an older person living with dementia is not the support that helps a young adult discharged after a mental health crisis, and pretending otherwise is how home care goes wrong. So we assess properly, we are honest about what we do well, and we match carers to people deliberately. The practical work covers personal care, medication, meals, help to move safely about the home and support to keep appointments and routines from slipping. Where specialist teams are involved, as they usually are with eating disorders and with recovery from substance use, we follow the clinical plan rather than improvising, and judgement is not part of what we offer. Communication matters more than anything else we do, because most of the problems we are called in to fix began with somebody not being listened to. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather keep earning it than cite it.

Arranging and funding home care in Cambridgeshire

How support usually builds up

Home care is help delivered where somebody already lives, arranged around the points in the day that have become unmanageable. Almost every package starts small, often a single morning call for washing, dressing and medication, and then grows as circumstances change. Longer visits, evening calls to help someone settle for the night, overnight cover, live in support and companionship time that gives a family carer a genuine break are all widely available. Because Cambridgeshire mixes cities with fen villages, the first thing to establish with any agency is whether carers actually travel to the address rather than simply to the district.

Using the inspection record

All one hundred and thirty six agencies here are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and the ratings across Cambridgeshire include Outstanding, Good and Requires Improvement, along with agencies that are not yet rated. Treat the rating as the beginning of the enquiry. The report behind it records whether calls arrived at the times agreed, how medicines were administered and documented, what training carers had received before being sent out and how the registered manager handled concerns. Look at the date of the inspection too, since a service can change substantially in a couple of years. An agency without a rating has not been inspected rather than been criticised, so ask how long it has traded and who leads it.

Questions worth putting to every agency

Ask how many different carers will attend over a fortnight and whether a small consistent team is kept for each person. Find out how you would be told when a visit is running late, who answers the telephone at weekends, and how complaints are recorded and resolved. Ask to see a blank care plan and check how quickly it can be rewritten when someone returns from hospital needing more help. Providers appearing in this listing, such as MiHomecare Cambridge and Affinity Trust Domiciliary Care Agency East, will answer these differently, which is the reason to ask them all.

Choosing between home care agencies in Cambridgeshire

The care needs assessment

Anyone who appears to need care and support can request a free care needs assessment whatever their income or savings. A practitioner from Cambridgeshire County Council will talk through washing, dressing, eating, taking medication, moving safely around the home and keeping in contact with other people, then set out which needs are eligible for support. Anyone providing regular unpaid help has a separate right to a carer's assessment, so ask for both at once. The written record is useful even for families who fully expect to pay privately.

Paying for home care

Where needs are eligible, a financial assessment considers income and capital. Care may then be funded in full, funded in part with a contribution from the person receiving it, or paid for privately. Families who qualify for support can request a direct payment and commission an agency of their own choosing rather than accept one arranged for them. Privately funded home care is usually charged by the hour, with higher rates at weekends, on bank holidays and for shorter calls, and live in care is quoted by the week. Ask each agency to confirm its rates, minimum visit length, travel charges and notice period in writing before anything is signed.

Frequently asked questions about home care in Cambridgeshire

How many home care agencies are there in Cambridgeshire?

Cambridgeshire has 137 CQC registered home care agencies: 3 Outstanding, 74 Good, 9 Requires improvement, 51 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

How much does home care cost in Cambridgeshire?

Hourly care visits, East of England: £26.00 to £34.30 an hour. Middle half of prices from 15 agencies. Median £31.88. Shown for East of England because too few Cambridgeshire agencies publish a rate. Published prices come from agencies that publish rates, so treat them as a guide. Ask the agency for its own price.

Which home care agencies in Cambridgeshire were inspected most recently?

Triple Home Care Ltd (11 August 2026), Helping Hands Cambridge (2 June 2026) and Mend Care (19 March 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.

Which home care agencies cover Cambridgeshire?

Care Assura lists 137 home care agencies serving Cambridgeshire, all registered with the Care Quality Commission. They include providers such as MiHomecare Cambridge, Affinity Trust Domiciliary Care Agency East and Cambridge Care, alongside newer independent agencies. Each profile shows the current CQC rating where one has been awarded together with the details needed to make contact. Because the county covers both cities and rural villages, confirming postcode coverage is the sensible first step.

What should I ask a home care agency in Cambridgeshire before agreeing to visits?

Ask how many different carers will attend and whether a small consistent team is kept for each person. Check how late calls are communicated, who is contactable outside office hours and how complaints are investigated. Ask to see a sample care plan and find out how quickly it can be revised after a hospital discharge. Request written confirmation of hourly rates, weekend and bank holiday charges, travel costs, minimum visit lengths and the notice period.

What is the difference between a care home and a nursing home?

A residential care home provides accommodation together with personal care, so staff help with washing, dressing, meals and medication in a shared setting. A nursing home offers the same support and additionally has registered nurses on duty, allowing it to meet clinical needs such as complex wound care or an unstable long term condition. Home care differs from both because the support travels to the person in their own house. Many families in Cambridgeshire rely on home care for years before either kind of home is considered.

Can Cambridgeshire County Council help pay for home care?

It may, and the route runs through two assessments. A care needs assessment first establishes whether the person has eligible needs, and a financial assessment then examines income and capital. Care may be funded in full, funded in part with a personal contribution, or paid for privately depending on the outcome. Where funding is agreed, a direct payment lets the family choose and commission the agency themselves.

How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Cambridgeshire?

Contact the adult social care team at Cambridgeshire County Council and describe what has become difficult at home. The assessment is free and open to anyone who appears to need care and support, regardless of savings. A practitioner will discuss daily tasks, safety and wellbeing during a home visit or by telephone, then record which needs are eligible. If you provide regular unpaid care, ask for a carer's assessment in the same conversation.

How soon should I start looking for home care in Cambridgeshire?

Start when everyday tasks begin slipping rather than waiting for a fall or an admission. Capacity varies between parts of the county, and rural addresses can take longer to cover than city ones. Arranging an assessment, comparing agencies and agreeing a care plan realistically takes several weeks. A shortlist prepared in advance makes a sudden hospital discharge far easier to manage.
