About Us

CHS Homecare provides care and support to older people in their own homes across Melbourn and the surrounding parts of Cambridgeshire.

Home care works best when it fits quietly around a life that is already there, and that is what we aim for. A visit might involve help with washing and dressing, support with medication, preparing a meal, shopping, laundry or keeping on top of the house. For many of the people we see it also means a familiar face at a predictable time, which does more good than it is usually given credit for.

We start with an assessment at home and an honest conversation. We want to understand what already works in the household, what has become difficult and what the person actually wants help with. Some people need a great deal of support and some need surprisingly little, and it is our job to say so rather than to recommend a bigger package than is warranted. The plan belongs to the person, and family are part of it when the person wants them involved.

Reliability is what people notice most. We keep to agreed times as closely as we can, we let people know when something changes, and we try hard to send the same carers.
