We are R M P Care at 21 Longton Road in Stone, Staffordshire, a small residential care home supporting adults with a learning disability and adults who are autistic. We support younger adults and we can offer respite stays. A small house suits this work. It means the people who live here are known properly rather than managed in a group, and it means daily life can be arranged around individuals. People choose their own food, keep their own routines, have a say in how the house is run and get out locally to do the things they enjoy. Where somebody wants to build a skill, hold down an activity or take on more independence, we support that steadily and we expect it to take the time it takes. Our team learns how each person communicates, including the people who do not use speech, and we treat behaviour as information rather than as a problem to be controlled. When somebody is distressed there is usually a reason, and finding it is part of the job. Respite stays are arranged carefully, with visits beforehand wherever possible, so that a short break is not an unsettling experience. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to know more, please contact us and come and see the house.

- Care Home
Merevale House is a residential care home in Atherstone, Warwickshire. We provide residential care for adults who can no longer manage on their own, and a large part of our work is caring for people living with dementia. We are not a nursing home, and it is worth being clear about that. What we offer is residential care: help with washing and dressing, medication given on time, meals cooked here, laundry done, and staff on duty through the night as well as the day. Doctors and district nurses come in when clinical care is needed. For a great many people this is exactly the right level of support, and it takes far less from their independence than a clinical setting would. Dementia asks something particular of a home. It asks for a day that runs in a familiar order, for surroundings that are easy to make sense of, and for staff who do not correct or argue but go where the person is. We take time to learn about somebody's working life, family and habits, because that is what allows us to understand them when words begin to fail. Respite and short stays are available, whether for a planned break or for recovery. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to visit Merevale House and see the place for yourself.

Wey View is a residential care home in Addlestone, Surrey, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, including younger adults. We also offer respite stays. This is somebody's home before it is anything else, and we try to run it that way. People have their own rooms, their own routines and a real say in how their days go. Support here is about making ordinary things possible rather than doing them for people, and we are careful about that distinction because independence is quietly worn away by help that arrives too quickly. We also take the time needed to understand how each person communicates, which is not always through words. We should be straightforward with you about where we stand. Our most recent overall judgement from the Care Quality Commission was that we require improvement. We accepted the findings rather than arguing with them, we have a plan of work in place and we are progressing it alongside colleagues in health and the local authority. Families deserve to hear that from us directly rather than discovering it later. If you are considering Wey View for someone in your family, please come and visit. Meet the people who live here, speak to our staff, and ask us exactly what the concerns were and what we have changed since. Those are the right questions to put to any home, and we will answer them plainly.

- Care Home
We are a residential home at Godstone, providing a home for adults, including younger adults, who need support with daily living. Being out of town shapes the place. There is room to be outside, a slower pace than a busy street brings, and space for people to take themselves off when they want to. Everyone has their own room and their own things, and the week is worked out between the people who live here and the staff supporting them: what is cooked, when the shopping happens, who wants to go out and where to. Support is built around what each person wants to be able to do. For some that means work, a course or a regular volunteering day. For others it is getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff, or learning to do more for themselves around the house. We take the long view, because progress here is usually gradual and the gains that matter are often ones nobody outside the household would notice. We keep staffing as settled as we can, since familiar people do more good than almost anything else we could arrange, and we explain changes before they happen. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and visit and meet the people who live here.

In practice, this means families can trust that their loved one is receiving skilled, attentive care in a genuinely homely setting, whether their stay is short term or a permanent move. At present, Clover Grove Residential Care Home has not yet received a CQC overall rating. For families, this simply means the home is either newly registered or awaiting its first formal inspection. We remain fully committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set by the Care Quality Commission, and we welcome open conversations with families about our approach, our values and the everyday care we provide. Transparency and trust sit at the heart of everything we do. Choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that accompany that search. We warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Clover Grove Residential Care Home to arrange a visit, meet our team and see for yourself the caring community we have built in Broadstone. Park Lodge Residential Care Home is a care home in Broadstone. We provide residential care for older people and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We keep to residential care rather than claiming to cover everything, and that is worth being clear about. We suit people who need help with the ordinary business of the day and the reassurance of staff being nearby. There are needs we are not registered to meet, and where somebody requires nursing care we will say so rather than accept an admission we could not properly support. Within that, the day belongs to the residents. People get up when they want, eat what they want and spend their time where they choose. Rooms belong to the people in them, with their own furniture and pictures, and relatives visit when it suits them. Respite stays give family carers a genuine break and let somebody try the home before making a longer decision. We treat a fortnight's stay exactly as we treat a permanent one. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit and take your time over the decision.

Southmead Rest Home is a residential care home in Broadstone for older people, including those living with dementia. We are not a nursing home, so what we do well is personal care, a settled daily rhythm and knowing everybody who lives here as a person rather than a set of needs. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and anything else that has become difficult, at the pace of the person rather than the pace of a rota. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they sit, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own. For residents living with dementia we keep the surroundings familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and try to work out what is behind a change in mood instead of treating it as a symptom. Families usually know a person better than any assessment, and what they tell us shapes how we work. Mealtimes matter here. Food is cooked on the premises, we ask people what they actually fancy and nobody is hurried along. Respite stays are available, whether to give a family carer a break, to help somebody build strength back up after illness or to let a person see what living here is like before making a longer decision. You are welcome to visit and ask us anything.

- Care Home
Lulworth House is a residential care home in Maidstone, Kent, and our work is with older people living with dementia. Specialising matters in dementia care. A home that is set up for it can shape everything around the way dementia actually affects people, rather than treating it as an extra demand on a general routine. That means a day that runs in a familiar order, surroundings that are easy to read and to navigate, and staff who are used to going where the person is instead of correcting or arguing with them. We take time to learn about somebody before their diagnosis. Knowing that a person got up at five for forty years, was never without a dog, or cannot settle unless the wireless is on will tell us more about how to support them than any assessment. It also helps us make sense of behaviour that would otherwise look inexplicable, because it almost always makes sense once you know the person. What we provide is residential rather than nursing care. Staff are here day and night to help with washing, dressing, medication and meals, while doctors and district nurses come in for clinical needs. Respite and short stays are available, which can give a family carer a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us to arrange a visit.

Fairlawn is a residential home in Maidstone, Kent, for older people who need care and companionship and can no longer manage alone at home. We are a house rather than an institution, and we would like the people who live here to feel that this is theirs. We provide residential care, which covers help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, with community health professionals called in when something clinical is needed. We support residents living with dementia, and our approach is unglamorous and effective: familiar staff, an unchanging routine, food people recognise and reassurance repeated as often as it is wanted. We pay attention to how people eat and sleep and whether somebody seems quieter than usual, because those are usually the first signs that something needs looking at. Respite stays are available too. They give family carers a genuine rest, and they let a prospective resident spend time here before any permanent decision is made. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. That is a standard we intend to keep rather than a badge to point at. If you are considering Fairlawn for a relative, please come and see us during an ordinary day, meet the people who live here and make up your own mind.

Mont Calm is a residential home in Maidstone, Kent, providing a permanent home for adults who need care and support with everyday life. Our care is residential rather than nursing. We help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, and we bring in community health professionals when something more clinical is needed. Many of our residents live with dementia, and we rely on familiar staff, a routine that stays where it is and reassurance given as often as it is needed. We support younger adults too, planning their interests and routines on their own terms rather than folding them into a pattern designed for older residents. Respite stays are available for families needing a planned break from caring at home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set that out here ourselves than have a family come across it later and wonder why we kept quiet. Aspen House is a residential care home in Maidstone. We support older people and adults living with mental ill health, including younger adults, and we offer respite stays as well as longer term places. What we try to provide first is somewhere settled. A good many of the people who come to us have had an unsettled time beforehand, whether through illness, a hospital admission or a placement that did not work out. Nobody is expected to settle quickly here, and we do not treat a slow start as a failure. The home is run around the people in it. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat and how to spend their time, and we would far rather someone sat quietly with a cup of tea than joined in with something out of politeness. Rooms are personalised from the beginning. Practical support covers personal care, medication, appointments, benefits and paperwork, and keeping in touch with family and friends. For younger adults we also look at the skills and confidence that make a more independent life possible later, because for some people this is a stage rather than a final destination. We work closely with community mental health teams and local GPs and raise concerns early. Respite stays give family carers a break and can offer somebody breathing space in a hard patch. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Aspen House and ask us whatever you need to.

We at Eastfield are proud to offer a welcoming residential care home in the heart of Maidstone, Kent, where older people receive compassionate support tailored to their individual needs. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel just that, a home, where every resident is treated with dignity, warmth, and genuine respect. Nestled within the Maidstone community in the ME postcode area, Eastfield benefits from the charm and convenience of one of Kent's most established towns. Our setting provides comfortable communal spaces where residents can socialise, relax, or enjoy quieter moments of reflection, whilst also being close to the local amenities, green spaces, and cultural landmarks that make this part of the South East such a lovely place to call home. Families visiting loved ones will find us easy to reach, with the familiar surroundings of Maidstone providing reassurance that relatives remain connected to the wider community. Our specialisms lie in older person care, residential care, dementia care, and respite care. For residents living with dementia, this means an environment where routines, familiarity, and gentle encouragement help to preserve independence and identity. Our team takes time to understand each person's life story, preferences, and abilities, ensuring that care is never one size fits all. For those in need of longer term residential support, we provide the everyday assistance that allows residents to focus on enjoying life, whether that means pursuing hobbies, spending time with visiting family, or simply savouring a quiet cup of tea in comfortable surroundings. Respite care is also an important part of what we offer. We understand that family carers sometimes need a well earned break, or that a loved one may need short term support following a hospital stay or period of illness. Our respite stays are designed to feel just as personal and considered as long term care, giving both residents and their families peace of mind during transitional times. Following our most recent inspection on 14 August 2025, the Care Quality Commission rated Eastfield as Good overall, with Good ratings across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. This consistency reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards in every aspect of daily life at the home, from the way medicines are managed and safeguarding is upheld, to the responsiveness of our team and the leadership that underpins everything we do. For families, a consistently Good rating offers real reassurance that their loved one is in capable, caring hands. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and it is rarely an easy one. At Eastfield, we welcome enquiries and visits from families who are exploring their options, and we are always happy to answer questions, offer guidance, or simply share a conversation about what your loved one needs. Please do get in touch to arrange a visit and see for yourself the warmth and care that make our home in Maidstone such a special place to live.

Magnolia House is a small residential care home in Maidstone, Kent, supporting adults who need help with daily living in an ordinary house rather than an institutional setting. Most of our work is with adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic. Being small lets staff know everybody here properly, and that shapes everything else. It means noticing when somebody is not themselves, knowing which situations unsettle a person and which reassure them, and understanding how each individual prefers to be approached on a difficult day. We start with the person rather than with a list of needs. We learn how somebody communicates, what a good day looks like for them, what they would rather do for themselves and what they would like to work towards. Support plans are written with the person, and with family or an advocate where that is wanted, and we revisit them as things change. Where someone can do something themselves, or could learn to with patient support, our job is to make that possible rather than to take it over. We also offer respite stays, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and well staffed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at options for yourself or someone you care about, please get in touch and come and see the house for yourself.

Loose Court is a residential care home in Maidstone, Kent. We are home to older people who need support with everyday life, including residents living with dementia, residents with physical disabilities and residents with visual or hearing impairment, and we offer respite stays for shorter periods. Residents here have different histories, different routines and very different ideas of a good day, so we plan support one person at a time. We ask when someone likes to wake, what they want to eat, how much help they want and where they prefer to spend the afternoon. Help with personal care, meals and medication is given quietly and with respect for privacy, and whatever a resident can still manage for themselves is protected. Dementia care shapes much of our work. Knowing a person's history, the people and places that matter to them and the rhythms that suit them is what allows us to reassure rather than argue when someone is unsettled. For residents with sensory loss we adapt how we communicate and how rooms and shared spaces are arranged, so that nobody is quietly left out. For residents with physical disabilities we pay attention to mobility and to what makes independence possible. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come and we would far rather hear a concern while it is small. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

The Vale is a residential care home in Maidstone. We support older people, including people living with dementia, and we also care for younger adults whose needs we know we can meet well. Moving into a care home is a significant thing, and we try to make it feel like arriving somewhere rather than being placed. Before anyone comes to live here we spend time with them and their family, learning not only what help they need but how they like their days to go, what they eat, when they sleep, who they want to hear from and what they would rather we left alone. That is the plan we then work to, and it is theirs to change. Day to day life is unhurried. People keep their own hours and their own belongings, choose company or quiet as they please, and get help with washing, dressing and moving about at their own pace and as privately as possible. Meals are cooked here and we would rather cook what somebody fancies than expect them to fit in with us. With dementia, knowing a person's life story is what allows us to offer comfort when words become harder, so we gather it with families and keep adding to it. We also offer respite stays, which can give a carer at home a real break. Families are welcome at any reasonable time, and anyone thinking about a move is welcome to visit and talk to the people who live here.

Dickley Court is a residential care home near Maidstone supporting a broad range of adults. Many of our residents are older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with a physical disability, residents living with sight or hearing loss and some younger adults. That range means assessment matters. Before anybody moves in we want to be sure we can meet their needs properly and that the placement will work for them and for the people already living here, and we say so honestly when we think we are not the right place. Support is planned one person at a time. For one resident that may mean help with most of the day, including personal care and help to move safely. For another it may mean very little practical help but a good deal of structure and staff who understand how they communicate. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent. Where there is a physical disability the right equipment is in place, and for residents with sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. Please contact us if you would like to visit and see how the home runs.

We at 95 Ashley Avenue offer a warm, welcoming residential care home in Folkestone, Kent, where personalised support meets the comforts of everyday life. Nestled within a residential neighbourhood in the CT postcode area, our home provides a peaceful base for older adults and younger adults alike who benefit from attentive, around the clock care. Our setting has been thoughtfully arranged to feel less like an institution and more like a genuine home. Being located in a quiet corner of Folkestone means residents enjoy the familiar rhythms of local community life, with the wider amenities of Kent and the South East coast within easy reach for family visits and outings. The residential character of Ashley Avenue lends itself to a calm, homely atmosphere where people can feel settled and safe. We take pride in supporting a diverse group of residents with a broad range of needs. Our specialisms include older person care, residential care, support for adults living with a learning disability or autism, mental health support, and care for people with a physical disability. We also welcome younger adults whose needs are best met in a smaller, home style environment, and we offer respite care for families who need short term support, whether that be to cover a holiday, recovery from hospital, or simply a well earned break for a regular carer. In practice, this breadth of experience means our team is skilled at truly getting to know each person. We take time to understand individual routines, preferences, communication styles, and life histories, so that the support we provide feels tailored rather than generic. For families, that translates into peace of mind, knowing that a loved one is being cared for as an individual, with their dignity, independence, and personal choices respected every day. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission, where we were rated Good overall. We also achieved a Good rating across every one of the five key domains the CQC assesses, being Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families weighing up options, this consistent picture offers reassurance that safety, kindness, responsiveness to changing needs, and strong leadership are woven into daily life at our home rather than being isolated strengths. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the mixture of emotions that comes with it. If you are exploring residential care, specialist support, or respite in Folkestone and the surrounding Kent area, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and arrange a visit. We would be delighted to show you around, introduce you to our team, and help you decide whether 95 Ashley Avenue could be the right next chapter for you or your loved one.

Here at Sandgate Manor, we provide residential care for a wide range of people in the heart of Folkestone, Kent. Our team supports older adults, younger adults, people living with a learning disability or autism, and individuals with a physical disability. We also offer respite care for those who need short term support, giving families and carers some breathing space while their loved ones are in safe, familiar hands. We understand that moving into a care home, or even just visiting for a short stay, is a significant step for anyone. We try to make that transition as straightforward and as comfortable as possible by taking the time to get to know each person properly before they arrive, and continuing to listen carefully once they are with us. Everyone who lives here has their own story, their own preferences, and their own way of doing things, and we do our best to reflect that in how we provide support day to day. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in an overall rating of requires improvement, and we want to be honest about that. We have taken the feedback seriously and have been working through the areas identified, making practical changes to how we operate. We are committed to being open with families and prospective residents about where we are in that process, and we welcome any questions. Folkestone is a community we are genuinely part of, and we value the trust that local families place in us when they choose Sandgate Manor for themselves or someone they love. Here at The Grange Care Home, we offer residential care for older people in the heart of Folkestone, Kent. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the standard of care and the atmosphere we work hard to maintain every day. We specialise in older person care, residential care and respite care, so whether someone is joining us for a longer term placement or a shorter stay to recover or give a family carer a well earned break, we aim to make The Grange feel like a genuine home rather than simply a place to be looked after. Folkestone is a town with real character, and we think that spirit comes through in the way we run things here. We get to know each resident as an individual, understanding their routines, their preferences and the things that matter most to them. Good care, in our experience, comes from listening first and then acting on what you hear. Family members and loved ones are always welcome, and we encourage people to stay involved in the life of their relative here. Moving into a care home is a significant step for everyone concerned, and we want to make that transition as smooth and reassuring as possible. We are always happy to have a conversation, show people around and answer any questions honestly. Our team works closely together and genuinely cares about the people who live with us. We are not a perfect place, but we are an honest one, and we keep looking for ways to do better. If you are considering care for yourself or someone you love and you think The Grange might be the right fit, please do get in touch. We would be glad to hear from you.

- Care Home
Finn Farm Lodge is a residential care home near Folkestone, Kent, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. We treat this as somebody's home rather than a placement. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the household runs. Where somebody can do something themselves, our job is to make that possible rather than to do it more quickly for them, even when the quicker route is tempting on a busy morning. Where somebody wants a job, a course or a club, that is the purpose of the support rather than an addition to it. It is usually what makes the rest of the week worth arranging. Predictability matters a great deal here. For many of those living with us, knowing what is happening and who will be on shift is what makes a day workable rather than difficult, so we plan ahead and explain changes early. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here what would make this a better place to live, and we act on what we are told.

- Care Home
Ravenlea is a residential care home in Folkestone, Kent. We support adults with learning disabilities and autism and adults with physical disabilities, including younger adults building their own adult lives. We run this as a home, not a placement. The people who live here choose how their rooms look, what goes on the shopping list, what happens at the weekend and how much company they want. Our staff are here to make those choices workable, with support that might mean personal care, help with money and appointments, practical assistance to get out and about, or backing somebody to try something they have not done before. Autism support is worked out individually rather than applied as a policy. We pay attention to sensory needs, to how much notice somebody wants before anything changes, and to the ways people show discomfort that have nothing to do with words. What we learn is written down so that support does not change with the shift rota. For residents with physical disabilities, much of the work is practical: the right equipment, enough time, and careful attention to what a person can still do independently so that assistance does not quietly become substitution. Respite stays are available as well, giving families a planned break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome and we are glad to show people round.

Broadmeadow is a residential care home in Folkestone, Kent, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We try to run a house rather than an institution, and the difference lies mostly in small decisions. People get up when they are ready. Meals are unhurried and worth turning up for. Somebody who wants their own company can have it without being coaxed into the lounge. Help with washing and dressing is given in a way that protects dignity, which usually comes down to asking first, explaining what we are doing, and never taking over a task a person can still manage themselves. Dementia care is a significant part of our work, and the most useful knowledge almost always comes from families. What someone did for a living, who they are thinking of when the late afternoon becomes unsettled, what music helps. We ask for that, record it and pass it between shifts. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please do come and look round.

The Cherries is a small residential home in Folkestone. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, including younger adults, and we offer respite stays. We should say plainly that our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We accepted what was found, we have been working through it, and if you are considering us for yourself or a relative, please ask us what has changed and speak to the people who live here. The house is run with the people in it rather than around them. Residents choose how their rooms look, what they eat, how they spend their time and what part they play in the household. Cooking, shopping and laundry are things people do with support where they can, because independence grows out of doing things rather than being told about them. Communication takes different forms here and we learn each person's, whether speech, signing, pictures, objects or the particular way somebody shows they have had enough. Our staff are trained in positive behaviour support and we keep the team as consistent as we can. For autistic residents we keep routines stable and give notice of change well in advance, because unexpected change is usually the hardest part. Respite guests are welcome to visit beforehand so the house is familiar when they arrive. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and look round properly.

We are a residential care home in Folkestone supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities, including younger adults and older people who need help with daily living. The house is run as a household rather than a service. Everyone has their own room and their own things, and the week is worked out between the people who live here and the staff supporting them: what is cooked, when the shopping is done, who wants to go out and where to. For adults who have often had decisions made on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is much of the point. Support is built around what each person wants to be able to do, whether that is a job, a course, a regular volunteering day, getting out regularly, keeping up with family or managing money with a hand from staff. Where somebody needs help with personal care or mobility, we give it without taking over more of the task than is necessary. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We prefer to say so plainly rather than leave you to discover it. We are working through the matters the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering the home. Please come and visit and meet the people who live here.

St Claire's Care Home in Folkestone is a residential care home for older people who need help with daily living, including many people living with dementia. We offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We are a house rather than an institution and we work to keep it feeling that way. People bring their own furniture and photographs, keep their own hours, choose where to spend the day and get help with washing and dressing at their own pace and as privately as we can manage. Meals are cooked here with real choice at each one, and food matters a great deal to how people feel about a day. Dementia care here rests on familiarity and patience. We learn a person's life story with their family when they arrive and keep adding to it, so that when words become harder we still have ways of offering comfort and recognition, and we keep the rhythm of the day predictable. We keep an eye on health without turning the place into a clinic. If somebody seems off colour we act on it early and tell families what is happening rather than waiting for them to ask.

We at Arthur Court are proud to offer a welcoming residential care home in the heart of Folkestone, Kent, providing thoughtful support for adults living with a range of needs. Nestled within the familiar surroundings of the CT postcode area, our home is well placed within the local community, offering residents the comfort of staying close to the people and places they know. Our setting has been carefully shaped to feel like a true home rather than an institution. With the coastal town of Folkestone on our doorstep and the wider beauty of Kent within easy reach, residents benefit from being part of a vibrant area whilst enjoying the calm and stability of life at Arthur Court. We aim to create spaces where people feel safe, settled and genuinely at ease, whether spending time in shared communal areas or enjoying quieter moments of their own. Our specialism lies in residential care for younger adults and individuals living with mental health needs. We understand that every person who comes to us has their own story, their own preferences and their own goals. For families, this means knowing that your loved one is supported by a team who recognises the importance of dignity, autonomy and emotional wellbeing. In practice, our approach involves listening carefully, building trusting relationships and tailoring daily routines so that residents can live as independently as possible whilst having reassurance close at hand. We focus on stability, encouragement and meaningful daily life, helping residents to develop confidence, maintain valued connections and engage with the wider community where they wish to. Supporting younger adults brings its own considerations, and we are mindful that the people in our care often have aspirations, interests and friendships that matter deeply to them. We work to honour those individual identities, supporting residents in pursuing hobbies, learning new skills and taking part in activities that bring purpose and enjoyment. For those living with mental health conditions, we aim to provide a consistent, understanding environment where recovery, resilience and personal growth are nurtured at a pace that suits each individual. In terms of quality, our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission, carried out in December 2023, awarded Arthur Court an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We were pleased to be rated Good in both the Caring and Responsive domains, a reflection of the genuine warmth our team brings and the way we adapt to the changing needs of those we support. We recognise that the Safe, Effective and Well led domains were rated as Requires Improvement, and we take this feedback seriously. It guides our ongoing commitment to strengthening our practices, refining our processes and ensuring that every aspect of life at Arthur Court matches the compassionate care that residents and families already experience day to day. We see this as an honest milestone on our journey, not a destination, and we are dedicated to continuous improvement across every area of our home. Choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Folkestone or the wider Kent area, we warmly invite you to get in touch with Arthur Court. Whether you have specific questions, would like to learn more about how we support residents, or simply wish to talk things through, our door is open. We are here to listen, to reassure and to help you find the right path forward for the person you care about.

Tudor Lodge is a residential care home in Folkestone, and we provide a home for older people who need support with daily living. Respite stays are available too, for planned breaks and for the occasions when a family needs cover quickly. Much of what makes a care home good is unspectacular. Knowing which chair is somebody's. Getting the tea right. Not hurrying a person through a wash because the trolley is waiting. We help with personal care, dressing, medication and mobility, and we try to do it so unobtrusively that it feels like part of the day rather than a procedure, leaving as much privacy and choice with the resident as we can. Dementia care is a significant part of our work. We keep the daily rhythm and the surroundings steady, give people time to find their words, and take trouble to learn about earlier life, because knowing what somebody did for a living and what they loved tells us a great deal once language becomes unreliable. Families usually hold that story, and we ask for it early. We ought to be open with you. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have worked through the findings with the team and those areas are where our effort sits at present. We would rather you heard it from us and then came to judge for yourself. Visitors are welcome on any ordinary day. Ring us and we will arrange a time that suits you.

We would rather set that out at the start than let a family find it later. The inspection identified things that were not good enough for the people living here, and we have accepted that. Anyone considering us should ask precisely what was found and precisely what has changed since, and should not settle for a general answer. What we are working towards has not changed. The people here are adults with their own preferences, and support should be planned with each of them individually: how the week should run, what they want to do for themselves, how they communicate and what makes a place feel safe rather than unsettling. Please visit before deciding anything. Meet the people living here, read the inspection report in full and judge us on what you find.

Seaview is a residential care home in Folkestone, Kent. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with mental health conditions, and we offer respite stays for those who need care for a shorter period. Supporting people of quite different ages and needs under one roof works only if you plan around each of them. An older resident may want a settled routine with help close at hand. A younger adult is often working towards independence and wants support that stays in the background until it is asked for. We write plans with the person rather than for them, and we change them when life changes. For people living with mental health conditions we aim to be steady through the better weeks and the harder ones. A difficult stretch is not a failure and is not grounds for taking away independence somebody has worked for. We agree in advance what helps and what a person would like us to do if things become harder, and we work alongside community teams and GPs. Folkestone is home for most of the people here, and we support them to keep up family contact, appointments and the places they already know. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please visit and see the house on an ordinary day.

Arranging and funding a care home place in Stone
Most families reach this page part way through a difficult few weeks, often after a fall, a hospital stay or a slow realisation that living independently has stopped working. The practical route into residential care is the same for everyone, and knowing the order of the steps takes some of the pressure off.
Starting with a care needs assessment
Anyone who appears to need care and support has a legal right to an assessment, whatever their savings. The assessment looks at washing, dressing, eating, medication, mobility, memory and safety, and it results in a written record of what someone needs on an average day. You can request one from Staffordshire County Council adult social care, which is the authority responsible for assessments and for arranging funded support in this area. A separate carer assessment is available to a relative who has been doing the day to day caring, and it is worth asking for at the same time.
How the money side usually works
Once needs are agreed, a financial assessment follows. It considers income, savings and, in most residential cases, the value of a property, then sets out whether the council contributes, whether the person pays privately, or whether the cost is shared. Fees at residential homes are set by the individual provider rather than nationally, so they vary from home to home and depend on the room, the level of support and whether nursing input is needed. Ask each home for its current fee in writing, ask what that figure includes, and ask what tends to be charged as an extra. If health needs are significant, it is also worth asking about NHS continuing healthcare, which is assessed separately from council funding.
Choosing between care homes in Stone
Reading the inspection picture honestly
The ratings across these 79 homes are mixed, and that is useful rather than discouraging. A rating is a snapshot from a particular inspection, so the date matters as much as the word. Where a home sits at Requires Improvement, the report will name the specific area that fell short, which may be record keeping rather than anything a resident would feel. Where a home has been rated Inadequate, treat that as a reason to look closely at what has changed since. Homes without a published rating are usually too newly registered to have been inspected, so judge those on what you see in person.
What a visit will tell you
Visit at least twice, and make one of those visits unannounced and around a mealtime. Watch whether staff know residents by name, whether people are up and occupied or parked in front of a television, and whether the place smells cared for. Ask about staff turnover, about how many carers are on at night, and about how the home handles a resident whose needs increase. Then ask the question that matters most to your relative, whether that is a garden, a pet, a familiar routine or the freedom to keep their own hours, and see how readily the answer comes.

A social care practitioner will look at daily tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, medication and mobility, and will produce a written record of what is needed. If you are caring for the person yourself, ask for a carer assessment at the same time, as it is a separate right.
Will Staffordshire County Council pay for a residential placement?
It depends on the outcome of two separate assessments. The care needs assessment establishes whether the level of need meets the national eligibility threshold, and a financial assessment then looks at income, savings and usually the value of a property. Depending on the result, the council may fund the placement, contribute towards it, or confirm that the person is expected to pay privately. Where health needs are the main driver, it is worth asking about NHS continuing healthcare, which is decided through a different route.
Which residential care homes are covered on this page?
This page brings together seventy eight residential care homes matching a search for care homes in Stone. Every entry is drawn from Care Quality Commission registration data rather than from paid listings, so the picture reflects who is actually registered to provide this type of care. Each home has its own profile page with its current rating and inspection history. Opening two or three profiles side by side is the quickest way to see how they differ.
What is the difference between a residential care home and a nursing home?
A residential care home supports people with everyday living, including personal care, meals, medication prompts and company, with staff on site around the clock. A nursing home does all of that and also has registered nurses on the premises, which allows it to meet clinical needs such as complex wound care, feeding tubes or unstable long term conditions. The homes listed on this page are registered for residential care. If a nursing need is likely to develop, ask each home directly what it can continue to manage and at what point a move would become necessary.
How early should I begin looking for a home?
Start as soon as you can see residential care becoming likely, rather than waiting for a crisis. Good homes often have waiting lists, and a rushed decision made from a hospital ward rarely produces the best match. Allowing a few weeks gives you time to visit properly, to complete the assessments and to involve your relative in the choice. If the move does have to happen quickly, a short term or trial placement can buy breathing space without committing to anything permanent.
What should I ask when I visit a care home in Stone?
Ask how many staff are on duty during the day and overnight, and how long the current team has worked there, because stability usually shows in the quality of care. Ask how care plans are reviewed, how families are kept informed and how the home responds when someone becomes unwell. Ask to see the most recent inspection report and any action plan that followed it. Finally, ask what a normal day looks like and whether you can stay for a meal, since watching an ordinary hour tells you more than any brochure.
