Prince Alfred is a residential care home in Liverpool. We support older people, including those living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting. We also take respite stays. Liverpool is home for most of the people who live here, and we try to keep that connection alive rather than letting the front door become a boundary. Families and friends are welcome, local ties are encouraged, and getting out matters as much as what happens inside. For people living with dementia, we work with familiarity rather than against it. Consistent faces, steady routines, food and music from the right part of a person's life, and staff who understand that how somebody feels in a moment outlasts whether they remember it. Where somebody has a learning disability or is autistic, the emphasis shifts towards choice, predictability and support to do things for themselves. Respite stays give a family carer a proper break and give the person staying a change of company and surroundings. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather you saw the home than read about it, so please arrange a visit, speak to residents and relatives and make up your own mind.

Beechside is a residential care home in Liverpool, supporting a broad range of adults. Those living here include older people, many living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We support younger adults too, we offer respite stays, and we support people living with eating disorders. A mixed household asks a great deal of a staff team, and we would rather be honest about that than present it as effortless. One routine will not suit everybody, so we work out individually what a good day looks like for each person and build from there. Attitude matters as much as skill. Somebody living with an eating disorder does not need staff with views about food, and an autistic adult does not need staff who improvise. We recruit and train with that firmly in mind. Where somebody communicates differently we deal with that first and properly, because everything else rests on it. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. We ask residents and their families regularly what we should be doing differently.

We at Brooklands Care Home are proud to offer compassionate residential care in the heart of Liverpool, providing a true home from home for older people and adults with a wide range of care needs across the North West. Nestled within a welcoming Liverpool neighbourhood, our home has been thoughtfully designed to balance comfort with practicality. Residents benefit from warm communal areas where friendships flourish, peaceful corners for quiet reflection, and personal rooms that can be made to feel truly their own. Every space within Brooklands has been considered with the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of those who live here firmly in mind. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the community we serve. We support older people requiring residential care, individuals living with dementia, those managing mental health conditions, adults with physical disabilities, and people with visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults who require tailored support to live well. In practice, this means our team takes the time to understand each resident as an individual, building care plans around personal histories, preferences, and aspirations rather than applying a one size fits all approach. Families can take comfort in knowing their loved ones are supported by people who genuinely care about getting the small details right, whether that is a favourite meal, a familiar routine, or simply a friendly chat over a cup of tea. For residents living with dementia, our approach centres on reassurance, gentle stimulation, and meaningful daily engagement. For those with sensory impairments or physical disabilities, we focus on enabling independence wherever possible, adapting our support so that each person can continue to enjoy the activities and connections that matter most to them. Mental health support is delivered with empathy and patience, ensuring residents feel safe, understood, and valued every day. Brooklands Care Home is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, with a Good rating awarded across all five inspection domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. This consistent recognition, following our latest inspection in November 2022, reflects the dedication of our team and the high standards we hold ourselves to in every aspect of daily life at the home. For families, a Good CQC rating offers reassurance that an independent regulator has reviewed our care and found it to meet the standards expected of a quality residential setting. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Liverpool or the surrounding area, we warmly invite you to get in touch with Brooklands Care Home. We would be delighted to answer your questions, share more about our approach, and welcome you for a visit so you can experience the atmosphere of our home for yourself.

We are Granby Intermediate Care Hub, a care home in Liverpool supporting older people, younger adults and anyone who needs a period of residential care in comfortable and familiar surroundings. A good deal of our work sits between hospital and home, and we understand how unsettling that stage can be for a whole family. Our aim is to give people the time, the practical help and the encouragement they need to regain confidence and, wherever possible, return to their own front door. We offer residential care for older people and for younger adults, and we welcome people living with dementia or with a physical disability. Our team takes time to learn how each person likes their day to run, from when they prefer to wake to what they enjoy eating, and we build support around that rather than around a timetable. Respite care is available too, whether a family carer has a planned break coming up or a short stay needs arranging at shorter notice. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather be open about that than quiet. We have a clear improvement plan in place, we are working closely with our local commissioners and with the inspectors, and we welcome questions from families about precisely what is changing and how quickly. Anyone considering a place with us is very welcome to visit, meet the team, speak with the people who live here and see the hub for themselves. We would be glad to talk things through.

Here at Ash Court Care Home, we are proud to be a trusted part of the Liverpool community, providing thoughtful, person centred support to those who need it most. We support a range of individuals including older people, those living with dementia, younger adults, and those who need a shorter stay through respite care. Whether someone is joining us for a few weeks to give a family carer some breathing space, or moving in with us on a permanent basis, we work hard to make sure every person feels genuinely at home from the moment they arrive. Dementia care is something we take seriously. We understand how much it matters to get the small things right, from familiar routines to the way we communicate and the environment we create. Our team takes time to understand each resident as an individual, learning about their history, their preferences, and what brings them comfort and joy throughout the day. For those who move in with us for residential care, our aim is simple: to offer a warm, safe and sociable place to live where people can maintain as much independence as possible while knowing support is always close by. We encourage residents to stay connected to the things they enjoy and to take an active role in the life of the home. We were rated Good by the Care Quality Commission at our most recent inspection, which reflects the effort and commitment shown by everyone who works here. That said, we never see a good rating as a reason to stop improving. We are always listening to residents, families and staff to find ways to do things better. If you would like to find out whether Ash Court Care Home might be the right fit for you or someone you love, please do get in touch. We would be happy to show you around.

- Care Home
Ash Court is a residential care home in Liverpool. We look after older people and younger adults who need help with everyday life, and a good number of our residents live with dementia. We have found that the things which make a home bearable, and then actually pleasant, are mostly small and mostly within our control. Being woken at the hour you prefer. Having your own chair. Not having to explain yourself twice to someone new. Food that resembles what you would have cooked yourself. We put effort into those details because they are what residents raise with us, far more often than anything grander. Each person's care is planned with them and with the people who know them, and we are specific about what help is wanted and what is not. Support that arrives uninvited can take away more than it gives, so we check rather than assume. Where dementia is involved, we hold routines steady, keep the building easy to read, and treat distress as something with a cause worth finding. Families frequently know that cause first, which is one reason we keep them closely involved. The Care Quality Commission last rated us good overall. Visitors are welcome without appointment. An ordinary weekday afternoon will tell you more about a home than any arranged tour, and we would rather you saw us as we normally are.

We are Ranelagh House, a residential care home in Liverpool. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, and we take respite bookings for shorter stays. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we are not going to write around it. We have looked closely at what the inspection found, changed how care is planned, recorded and reviewed, and strengthened the training and supervision of our staff. Our progress is being monitored, and we tell relatives the same things we tell the regulator. What we are working to protect while we do that is ordinary life here. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you wake, where you take your breakfast, how sociable you feel today: those remain your decisions. For people living with dementia, the useful work is in the detail, knowing somebody's history and the work they did, recognising early what tends to unsettle them, and going at their pace rather than the rota's. If you are considering Ranelagh House for someone, please come and see us and ask about the rating directly. We would rather answer that question fully than have it hanging over the conversation.

Our setting has been thoughtfully designed to feel comfortable, familiar, and reassuringly safe for every resident who walks through our doors. Nestled within the L postcode area of Liverpool, our home benefits from the warmth of a well established community in the North West. Residents enjoy a comfortable environment where the rhythms of daily life feel calm and unhurried, with communal spaces that encourage gentle social connection and quieter corners for those who prefer a more peaceful moment with a book, a visitor, or a favourite programme on the television. Our care specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people who choose to make their home with us. For older residents, we focus on preserving dignity, independence, and individual routine, recognising that each person brings a lifetime of preferences, memories, and personality to our community. Our dementia care is grounded in patience and understanding, with our team taking time to truly know each resident so that familiar faces, gentle reassurance, and consistent routines can ease the uncertainty that dementia can sometimes bring. For those living with a physical disability, we provide practical, respectful support that enables residents to take part in the activities and interactions that matter most to them, whilst ensuring comfort and safety throughout the day. In practice, this means families can expect a care approach that listens. We work closely with relatives to build a picture of who their loved one truly is, from the small daily preferences to the larger life stories. This personalised understanding shapes how we plan care, how we communicate, and how we celebrate the everyday moments that make a house feel like a home. If you are exploring care options for someone you love, we understand that this is rarely an easy moment. The decision carries weight, and you deserve honest answers, a warm welcome, and the time to ask every question that matters to you. We invite you to get in touch, arrange a visit, and see for yourself the everyday kindness that defines life at Cressington Court Care Home. Christopher Grange Residential Care is a care home in Liverpool providing residential support to older people, including people living with dementia and people managing mental health conditions. Moving into a care home is rarely anyone's first choice, and we think it is better to acknowledge that than to pretend otherwise. What we can do is make the move as gentle as possible and then make the life that follows worth having. That starts with learning who somebody is. The work they did, the people they mind about, the routines that have held their day together for decades, the things they would rather we never did. We write it down, we use it, and we correct it as we learn more. Day to day that shows up in small ways. Getting up when you want to. Being helped in a manner that protects your dignity. Having someone sit with you when the afternoon feels long. For people living with dementia it also means meeting them where they are rather than correcting them, and knowing which approaches calm a difficult moment and which make it worse. We also offer respite stays for short periods of care or to give a family carer a planned break. Anyone considering a place here is warmly welcome to visit and ask us anything.

Woolton Acre Retirement Living is a residential care home in Liverpool. We provide accommodation and personal care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition, people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also offer respite stays for people who need care for a short period. We want this to feel like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. Before anybody moves in we spend time getting to know them, so that we understand the routine they are used to, what they enjoy, who they want to stay in touch with and which parts of the day they would still like to manage themselves. Their care plan follows from that, and we revisit it as things change. Where somebody has a sensory impairment, how we approach and speak with them is part of the plan, not an afterthought, because getting it wrong turns ordinary care into something alarming. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we have, we would encourage anyone considering a place here to ask us direct questions about how we recruit and train our staff, how medicines are managed and how we handle complaints. We would rather answer them than have you wonder. Visitors are welcome. Please get in touch if you would like to look around.

Moss House Care Home is a residential care home in Liverpool, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with mental health needs and people who have a physical disability. We are a house where people live rather than a unit where they are placed, and we try to keep that difference visible in how the place runs. People have their own rooms and their own belongings. They are asked rather than told. If somebody wants to get up at half past nine, that is a preference and not a problem. For any of that to hold, the practical side has to be dependable, so we are careful about personal care, medication, meals cooked in our own kitchen and staff awake and available overnight. For residents with a physical disability we make sure the equipment and the help are there to get out of a room and about the house, because mobility lost to staff convenience is the easiest loss to prevent and the hardest to undo. Dementia runs through much of our work, and we have long since stopped correcting people. Consistent staff, a calm house and enough of a person's history to find the thread of a conversation do far more. For residents with mental health needs we work patiently and alongside the professionals already involved. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. Visit at a busy time of day, unannounced if you prefer, and ask the people who live here.

At Whitestone Lodge, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Knowsley, Liverpool. We also offer respite care for those who need short term support, whether that is to give a family carer a break or to help someone recover after a period of illness. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family will make, and we do not take that lightly. Our team works hard to understand each resident as an individual, learning about their history, their preferences and the things that matter most to them in daily life. Care plans are built around the person, not the other way around. For residents living with dementia, we try to create an environment that feels calm, familiar and safe. We pay attention to the small things, routines, familiar faces, meaningful activity, because we know how much those details can affect someone's sense of wellbeing. We want to be straightforward with people who are considering Whitestone Lodge. Our most recent CQC rating is requires improvement, and we take that seriously. We have been working through the feedback and making real changes to the way we operate. We would rather be honest about where we are than gloss over it, and we are committed to demonstrating progress through our actions. Families are always welcome to visit, ask questions and stay involved in their loved one's care. We believe good care happens in partnership with the people who know residents best. If you would like to find out more about life at Whitestone Lodge or arrange a visit, please do get in touch. Nestled within a welcoming residential setting, our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel comfortable, familiar, and safe. Every corner of Roby Lodge is centred on the wellbeing of the people who live here, creating an environment where residents can truly feel at ease. Our specialisms include older person care, residential care, dementia care, and respite care. For families, this means we are able to support a wide range of needs, from long term residency for those seeking companionship and daily support, to shorter respite stays that offer a valuable break for family carers. Our approach to dementia care is rooted in patience, understanding, and dignity, ensuring that each resident is seen as an individual with their own story, preferences, and routines. We take the time to get to know every person in our care, tailoring the support we provide so that daily life feels reassuring and meaningful. Families can find comfort in knowing that their loved one is supported by a team that values kindness as much as expertise, and that communication remains open and honest throughout the care journey. We are pleased to hold an overall rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission following our most recent inspection in March 2023, with Good ratings across every domain including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. It offers reassurance that the standards of safety, compassion, and leadership within our home meet the expectations of one of the most respected regulators in the sector. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the care and consideration that goes into it. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Liverpool or the surrounding Knowsley area, we would be delighted to welcome you to Roby Lodge, answer your questions, and help you feel confident about the next step. In practice, this means tailored care plans, gentle encouragement with daily routines, meaningful activities suited to varying abilities, and a genuine commitment to listening to both residents and their families. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, which is why transparency around quality matters so much. Simonsfield Residential Care Home has been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, with Good ratings across all five key areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led. This consistent recognition reflects the standards we uphold every day, from the safety of our environment and the effectiveness of the care we deliver, to the warmth of our team, the responsiveness of our support, and the strength of our leadership. For families, this rating offers reassurance that their loved one will be cared for in a home where quality is taken seriously and continually nurtured. Life at our home is about more than care alone. It is about companionship, laughter shared over a cup of tea, celebrating birthdays and special occasions, and ensuring that every resident feels seen, heard, and valued. We encourage family involvement at every stage, because we believe that strong relationships with loved ones are an essential part of wellbeing. Whether it is a quiet visit, a shared meal, or a chat with our team about how a relative is settling in, families will always find an open and welcoming response. Garden Lodge Care Home is a care home in Liverpool. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting that range of people under one roof works only if nobody is treated as a category. Somebody in the later stages of dementia and somebody who has managed a mental health condition for thirty years need almost opposite things from us. So we sit down with each person, work out what their week should actually contain, and arrange staffing around that rather than the reverse. Residents decide how their own day runs, keep their own things around them and see visitors when it suits them. Where sight or hearing has failed, we say who has come into the room and describe what is happening. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit if you are considering care in the city, and talk to the people living here as well as to us.

Maple Lodge is a care home in Liverpool serving families across Knowsley and the surrounding area. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. Because the people living here have genuinely different needs, we plan care one person at a time. What settles somebody with dementia is not what helps somebody living with a long standing mental health condition, and one routine stretched over everybody suits nobody in particular. So we spend our attention on the details: how a person likes to be addressed, what they can still do and would rather do themselves, what tends to make a bad day and what heads it off early. Where sight or hearing loss is involved, habits matter more than equipment. Saying who you are as you come in. Leaving furniture exactly where it lives. Checking that hearing aids and glasses are clean and working. People here decide when they get up, what they eat and how they spend the day. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them, and we would far rather a concern reached us early and bluntly than be stored up for months. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we keep asking residents and families what needs our attention.

Larkhill Hall is a care home in Liverpool. We provide residential care for older people, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we would rather put it at the start than leave it to be discovered. The inspection found things that were not good enough for the people living here. We have accepted those findings and we are working through them. Anyone considering the home should ask precisely what was identified and precisely what has changed since, and should press if the answer sounds general. What we are working towards is straightforward. A home where residents decide how their own day runs, where rooms belong to the people in them, where visitors come when it suits them, and where staff know the people they support properly rather than in outline. For those living with dementia, familiarity carries most of the weight: the same faces, a recognisable rhythm and a team who take the trouble to learn a person's history. Please visit before you decide anything. Read the inspection report in full and judge the home on what you find.

Arncliffe Court is a residential care home in Knowsley, Liverpool. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with mental health conditions. Supporting such a mixed group under one roof is something we plan for rather than something that simply happens. A younger adult working towards more independence and an older resident living with dementia want very different things from a week, and support here is built around the individual rather than around a single house routine. What we provide is residential care. Staff are on duty through the night as well as the day to help with personal care, dressing, medication and meals, while doctors and district nurses come in for clinical needs. For most people that combination works well and leaves their independence largely intact. For residents living with dementia we keep the day in a familiar order, keep the staff group as steady as we can and take time to learn about the person's earlier life, because it explains a great deal about how they are now. For autistic residents we pay attention to predictable routine, clear information and honest notice before anything changes. Respite stays are available. Please ring us if you would like to look round Arncliffe Court.

Montgomery is a residential care home in Knowsley, near Liverpool. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia, and respite stays are part of what we do. We concentrate on comfort and reliability rather than extras. Good food, warmth, prompt assistance, and real privacy. Dementia care here rests on knowing people. We ask relatives early for the history, the working life and the names, because those are what still connect when a great deal else has slipped, and without them we would be managing a condition rather than keeping company with a person. We also pay attention to the things easy to let slide: clean spectacles, working hearing aids, a favourite cardigan coming back from the wash. Neglect shows up there first. We work hard at keeping the same staff on the same shifts, because familiarity does more for people here than almost anything else we could arrange. We are honest about what we cannot do. If somebody's needs would be better met elsewhere we will say so, even when it would suit us to keep them. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Relatives who visit often notice what we have stopped seeing, and we would rather they told us plainly than be polite about it.

Eldonian House Care Centre is a residential care home in Liverpool providing care for older people, including people living with dementia, along with shorter respite stays. We try to keep the home domestic rather than institutional. People get up when they wake, eat what they like, and pass the day as they choose. Some are in company from breakfast onwards and some would far rather have their own room and the paper, and neither preference draws any comment from us. The care covers help with washing and dressing, prompting and administering medication, meals cooked on the premises, support with mobility, and somebody always about when a person needs them. For those living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the staff familiar, and we arrange the house so that it is easy to understand and move around in. Liverpool is home for most of the people living here, and we keep those connections going with trips out, local visitors, and family welcome whenever they wish to come. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and you are welcome to visit.

Woodlands Residential Care is a care home in Liverpool for older people who need help with daily living. We support people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We are a house rather than an institution and we work to keep it feeling that way. People bring their own furniture and photographs, keep their own hours, choose where to spend the day and get help with washing and dressing at their own pace and as privately as we can manage. Meals are cooked here with real choice at each one, and food matters a great deal to how people feel about a day. Where somebody has a physical disability, independence often turns on practicalities: the right equipment, a room arranged so that things are within reach, and help given at the moment it is needed rather than instead of the person trying. We would rather support somebody to do a thing slowly than do it for them quickly. With dementia we depend on knowing a person well. We gather their history with their family when they arrive and keep adding to it, so staff respond to the person rather than the behaviour, and we keep the shape of the day predictable because that helps more than any amount of organised activity. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated the home good overall.

- Care Home
We are a residential care home at Huyton, providing a home for older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. Our aim is an unhurried house. A great deal of care is spoiled simply by being rushed, so we try to give people the time to wash, dress and eat at their own pace, and to sit with somebody who wants to talk rather than moving straight on to the next task. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Meals are cooked here and we pay attention when somebody would rather have something different. Dementia care comes down to knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is anxious or cannot place where they are. It is worth a great deal more than any written procedure. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. A planned break can be what allows a relative to keep providing care at home for longer. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come. Please come and see the home for yourself.

Sedgemoor Care Home is a residential care home in Liverpool. We support older people who need help with daily life, including many living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people recovering from illness or giving a family carer a break. We are a home of a size where everybody is properly known, and that is the basis of everything else. Our team notices when somebody eats less than usual, sleeps badly, seems low or becomes unsteady on their feet, and it gets acted on the same day rather than at a review in a month. Residents run their own days. When to get up and go to bed, what to eat, whether to sit with others or keep to their own room with their own things around them. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and nobody comes in without knocking. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour. For residents living with dementia, consistency is what helps most, so we keep staffing settled, learn each person's history properly and use it to make sense of what they are telling us. When somebody is distressed we look for the reason rather than trying to close it down. Health needs are managed alongside local GPs and community nurses, and families hear from us early when anything changes. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round.

Edenfield House is a residential care home in the Knowsley area of Liverpool, supporting a varied group of people. We care for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions and people with sight or hearing loss, including younger adults. That range works because our method stays the same. We spend time learning how a person communicates, what settles them, what unsettles them and what they want their day to contain, and we make sure the whole team understands those things in the same way. Consistency is what allows somebody to relax, and it is also what lets us notice early when something is wrong. The day here belongs to the people who live in the house. People get up when they are ready, spend their time on things they actually enjoy and keep their own belongings and routines around them. Where somebody wants more independence, we look for the everyday opportunities rather than talking about it in the abstract. Respite stays are available too, for people needing short term support and for families who need a rest. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The better measure is whether people here seem at ease, so please come and see for yourself.

Hurst Park Court is a residential care home in Knowsley, Liverpool, providing a settled home for older people who need support with daily living. We care for residents living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period or whose usual carer needs a rest. We aim for an ordinary life with good support behind it. Residents choose when they get up, how they spend their days and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered, down to how somebody takes their tea. There is company and activity for those who enjoy it and no pressure on anyone who would rather have peace. Dementia support runs through everything we do rather than sitting to one side of it. We ask families to tell us about a person's life, their work, their music, their habits and their dislikes, because that knowledge is what allows staff to offer comfort that genuinely comforts. Familiar faces, calm surroundings and an unhurried pace achieve far more than any rigid approach. We are a residential care home in Liverpool, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. Residents have their own rooms with their own belongings, get up and go to bed when they choose and decide how they want to spend their days. Meals are cooked here and we listen when somebody says they would rather have something else. Much of what makes a care home worth living in is small and unglamorous: being helped to wash without being rushed, a hot drink at the time you actually want it, somebody noticing when you have gone quiet and sitting down with you. Dementia care, as we have come to understand it, is mostly a matter of knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is frightened or cannot place where they are. Family and friends are welcome whenever they would like to come, and we would always rather a relative raised a concern straight away. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Croxteth Park Care Home in Liverpool provides residential care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia. Our aim is a home where people are known properly rather than simply looked after. That takes staff who stay long enough to learn somebody's history and habits, and care that is planned with the person rather than written about them. Help is given with washing and dressing, with moving about safely, with medication and with eating and drinking well, and it is given without hurry. For those living with dementia we keep routines steady and surroundings familiar, adjust how we communicate rather than expecting the person to adjust to us, and pay attention to what somebody is telling us when words have become unreliable. Families usually know a great deal about what works, and we ask them. The home is somewhere people live. Rooms are personalised, meals are cooked here with a genuine choice, there is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and visitors are welcome without ceremony. Abbegale Lodge is a residential care home in the Sefton area. We support older people, including those living with dementia and those living with mental ill health, as well as some younger adults, and we offer respite stays. The home runs around the people in it. Residents decide when to get up, what they want to eat and how to spend the day, and we would rather somebody read the paper all morning than joined in with something to be polite. Rooms are personalised from the start with people's own furniture and pictures, because familiar surroundings make settling in much easier. Supporting people who live with dementia alongside long standing mental ill health is a real part of our work, and it is an area where people sometimes get moved from place to place. We would rather be somewhere that holds steady. Routines stay consistent, staffing is kept as settled as the rota allows, and when a person is distressed we look for the cause instead of simply calming the moment. Having younger adults living here too means we are careful that their days do not drift into a pattern designed around much older residents. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Abbegale Lodge and ask us whatever you need to.

We at Orrell Grange are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in Liverpool, providing thoughtful older person care to those who call our home their own. Nestled within the Sefton area of the North West, our home has been designed to feel familiar, comfortable, and reassuring from the moment you step through the door. Our setting offers residents the best of both worlds: the friendly community spirit of Liverpool combined with the peaceful surroundings that make daily life calm and enjoyable. The local area is well connected, making visits from family and friends straightforward, whilst the home itself provides a tranquil retreat where residents can truly relax. Communal spaces invite conversation and companionship, and quieter corners offer the chance to read, reflect, or simply enjoy a cup of tea. At the heart of what we do is a genuine commitment to person centred care. We specialise in residential care, nursing care, and dementia care for older people, which means we are equipped to support residents across a wide spectrum of needs. For families, this offers real peace of mind. Should a loved one's needs change over time, they can continue to receive the right level of support without the upheaval of moving to a new home. Our nursing care ensures that clinical needs are met with skill and compassion, whilst our dementia care is delivered with patience, understanding, and a deep respect for each individual's life story. We believe that good care is built on relationships. Our team takes the time to learn what matters most to each resident, from favourite meals and treasured routines to hobbies, memories, and the small details that make a house feel like home. For those living with dementia, this familiarity is especially important, and we work closely with families to ensure that every resident feels known, valued, and safe. Our home has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission across every domain, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led, following our most recent inspection in January 2022. This consistent recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the standards we uphold every day. For families weighing up the difficult decision of choosing a care home, this independent assessment offers genuine reassurance that loved ones will be looked after with both competence and kindness. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. We warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Orrell Grange to learn more about our home, arrange a visit, or simply have a conversation about what your loved one needs. Whatever stage you are at in your search, we are here to listen, to guide, and to welcome you with open arms.

Here at Kirkby House Residential Care Home, we provide a warm and homely environment for the people who live with us in the heart of Knowsley, Liverpool. We are proud to have been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our whole team puts in every single day to make sure people feel safe, respected and well looked after. We care for older people and younger adults, and our experience in dementia care means we are well placed to support individuals and families navigating what can be a difficult and emotional journey. We take the time to understand each person as an individual, learning about their life history, their preferences and the things that bring them comfort and joy. That understanding shapes everything we do, from the way we plan care to the small everyday moments that make a real difference to how someone feels. Residential care is at the heart of what we do, and we work hard to ensure that Kirkby House truly feels like home rather than somewhere people simply pass through. Familiar faces, consistent routines and a genuine sense of community all matter to us. Residents are encouraged to stay connected to the things they love and to take part in the life of the home in whatever way suits them best. We know that choosing a care home for yourself or someone you love is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we do not take that lightly. We welcome anyone who would like to come and visit us, ask questions and spend some time getting a real feel for who we are. Kirkby House is a residential care home in Liverpool. We support older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, and many of our residents live with dementia. We keep our attention on the ordinary. Whether someone is woken at the time they would choose, whether they have their own chair and their own things around them, whether the food is worth eating, whether they have to explain themselves again to somebody new. Residents raise these matters with us far more often than anything larger, and getting them right day after day is most of what good care amounts to. Care here is planned with the resident and with the people who know them well, and we are careful about the difference between help that is wanted and help that quietly removes someone's independence. We ask rather than assume, and we revisit the arrangement as things change. For residents with dementia we keep routines and faces as consistent as our rotas permit, lay the building out so that finding your way does not depend on memory, and look for the cause when someone is distressed instead of simply trying to settle them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. You are welcome to look round without an appointment. We would rather you saw an ordinary day here than a prepared one.

For those with physical disabilities or with visual or hearing impairments, we adapt our care to suit individual needs, making sure every resident can take part in the life of the home as fully as they wish. We understand that caring for a loved one at home can sometimes become challenging, which is why we also offer respite care. Whether families need short term support following a hospital stay, a break from caring responsibilities, or a trial stay before considering longer term arrangements, we aim to make the transition smooth and stress free for everyone involved. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission, carried out in April 2019, resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We were pleased to be rated Good in the areas of Effective, Caring, and Responsive care, which reflects the compassion, skill, and commitment of our team in day to day life at the home. We recognise that the Safe and Well led domains were identified as areas Requiring Improvement, and we take these findings seriously as part of our ongoing commitment to raising standards. Continuous improvement is central to our ethos, and we remain focused on strengthening every aspect of the care and leadership we provide. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. If you are exploring residential care, dementia care, or respite options in Liverpool, we warmly invite you to get in touch with us at Woolston Mead. We would be delighted to answer your questions, share more about our approach, and help you feel confident that your loved one will be supported with kindness, dignity, and genuine care.

Tithebarn is a residential care home in the Sefton area of Liverpool. We provide care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Our aim is that this feels like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been put. Residents bring their own belongings, keep their own routines and decide how the day goes. We provide help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and getting about, and we are careful to give only as much as is wanted, because doing too much for somebody erodes independence just as surely as doing too little neglects it. Dementia care is a large part of our work. We take time to learn each person's history, their habits and the things that reassure them, because that knowledge is what allows staff to respond to the feeling behind a difficult moment rather than simply to the behaviour in front of them. Familiar faces, a calm environment and a predictable rhythm do most of the rest, and families often tell us it is the ordinary details that count. Respite stays get the same planning and attention as any other admission, whether they are giving a family carer a genuine break or supporting somebody after a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are very welcome to visit Tithebarn and see the home as it ordinarily is.

Cloisters Care Home is a residential home in Sefton. We care for older people who need support with daily living, including those living with dementia and those living with mental health conditions, and we also support some younger adults. Our care is the practical, daily kind: help to wash and dress, medication given properly, meals cooked here, support to move about safely and staff available through the night. Around that, residents arrange their own time as they wish, and we try not to organise people's lives on their behalf. For residents living with dementia we keep the rhythm of the day predictable and the staff around them consistent, and we ask families to tell us about working lives, music and habits. For people living with mental health conditions, consistency and staff who stay steady when things are difficult count for a great deal. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families in Liverpool and Sefton are welcome to visit. Please ring and we will arrange a time.

Here at Saint Jude Care Home, we provide residential and dementia care for older people in the heart of Liverpool, Sefton. Our home is a place where residents can feel genuinely comfortable, supported and at ease, whether they are joining us for a short respite stay or making this their long term home. We support older people with a range of needs, including those living with dementia. We understand that moving into a care home is a significant step, and we take that responsibility seriously. Getting to know each resident as an individual, understanding their routines, their preferences and what matters most to them in daily life, is central to how we work. Care here is not one size fits all, and we take time to build real relationships with residents and their families. Respite care is also something we offer for those who need a planned or short notice break. We know how much families rely on one another, and we want to make sure that when someone comes to us for a shorter stay, they receive exactly the same warmth and attention as any other resident. We want to be honest. Our most recent CQC rating reflects that there are areas where we have needed to improve, and we are working through those changes with focus and sincerity. We are committed to being open with families about where we are on that journey, and we welcome questions and visits from anyone who wants to see our home for themselves. If you are considering care for a loved one and would like to come and have a look around or simply have a conversation, please do get in touch. We are always happy to talk things through and help families find the right path forward.

Damfield Gardens is a care home in Liverpool serving families across Sefton and the surrounding area. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. We would rather tell you this ourselves than have you find it elsewhere. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us as requires improvement. We are not going to write around it. We took the findings seriously, we have an improvement plan we are working through, and if you come and see us you should ask directly what has changed and what is still outstanding. You will get a straight answer. What has not changed is how we think people should be treated. This is their home. Residents choose how their rooms look, when they get up, what they do with the day and who visits. We plan care person by person, because what settles somebody with dementia is not what helps somebody living with a long standing mental health condition, and one routine across everybody suits nobody. Real improvement comes from listening to residents and relatives and then acting on it rather than recording it. That is where our attention sits at the moment, and we welcome anybody who wants to hold us to it.

Here at Craignair Care Home, we are proud to be a trusted part of the Liverpool and Sefton community, providing a warm and caring environment where residents feel genuinely at home. We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, and younger adults who require residential care. We also offer respite care for those who need a short term stay, whether that is to recover, to give family members a well earned rest, or simply to try life with us before making a longer term decision. Whatever brings someone through our doors, we do our very best to make them feel settled, respected, and valued from day one. Dementia care is something we take particularly seriously here. We understand how much it matters to maintain familiarity and routine for residents living with memory conditions, and we work closely with families to ensure that the personal history, preferences, and personalities of each individual remain at the heart of the care we provide. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, which reflects the effort and commitment of everyone who works here. That said, we never see a good rating as a reason to stand still. We are always looking at ways to improve the experience for our residents, listening to feedback and making changes where they are needed. Our team genuinely cares about the people who live here. Relationships matter to us, and we take time to get to know residents and their families properly. We believe that good care is built on trust, and that trust takes time, consistency, and honesty. We at Maryland Care Home offer dedicated residential care in the heart of Liverpool, providing a warm and welcoming home for older people who need a little extra support with daily living. Our setting has been thoughtfully arranged to feel familiar and comforting, offering peace of mind to families across Sefton and the wider North West. Nestled within a residential part of Liverpool, our home benefits from being close to local amenities whilst maintaining a calm, homely atmosphere. The surroundings lend themselves well to gentle strolls, visits from loved ones, and quiet moments of reflection, all of which contribute to the sense of continuity and belonging that we strive to nurture for every resident who joins us. Our team specialises in older person care, residential care, dementia care, and respite stays, meaning we are equipped to walk alongside residents through a variety of circumstances. For those living with dementia, this means a patient, person centred approach where routines, preferences, and life stories are honoured every day. For families considering respite, it means the reassurance that a loved one can enjoy a short stay with the same warmth and attentiveness offered to permanent residents, giving carers at home the opportunity to rest and recharge. Whether someone is joining us for the long term or a brief period, we take time to understand each individual, their history, their likes and dislikes, and the small daily rituals that bring them comfort. Everyday life at Maryland Care Home is shaped around the wellbeing of the people who live here. Meals, companionship, and gentle activity all form part of a rhythm that residents can settle into at their own pace. Family members are always welcome, and we see relatives as important partners in the care we provide, keeping open and honest communication about how their loved one is getting on. Our most recent CQC inspection, carried out in October 2025, rated the home as Requires Improvement across all five domains: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led. We recognise what this rating means and we accept it as a clear call to keep raising the standard of what we offer. Our team is committed to listening carefully to feedback from residents, families, and inspectors, and to putting in place the improvements needed to move forward. We believe transparency matters, and we would rather share our journey honestly with families than gloss over the areas where we are working to do better. Every day is an opportunity to strengthen how we care, and we are approaching that work with determination and openness. If you are exploring residential care options in Liverpool for a parent, partner, or loved one, we warmly invite you to get in touch with us. Choosing a care home is a deeply personal decision, and we understand the weight of it. Please do reach out to arrange a conversation or a visit, so you can see our home for yourself, meet the team, and ask any questions you may have. We are here to listen, to reassure, and to help you find the right path forward for your family.

Woodlands Lodge Care Home in Formby is a residential care home serving Sefton and the wider Liverpool area. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, adults with physical disabilities and younger adults, and we welcome people for respite stays as well as permanently. We try to keep the place feeling like a home rather than a facility. Rooms belong to the people in them, complete with their own furniture, photographs and clutter. The day has a shape without being a timetable, and nobody is obliged to join in with anything. There is usually something going on for those who want it and somewhere quiet for those who do not. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the work. Familiar staff, a predictable routine, surroundings that make sense and time given rather than rushed. We learn about people's earlier lives, from them and from families, because knowing who somebody has been changes how you talk with them now. Where somebody with a physical disability wants to keep doing things for themselves, we make sure the equipment and the layout help rather than hinder. Families are welcome, involved in reviews and listened to when they disagree with us. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Do ring if you would like to look round Formby and see how the home feels on an ordinary day.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Liverpool
The shape of residential dementia support
Every provider gathered on this page is a residential care home, which means staff are on site around the clock to help with washing, dressing, meals, medication and the ordinary rhythm of the day. For someone living with dementia, the value of that setting lies less in the building than in how predictable it feels. Familiar faces on each shift, a routine that does not change without warning, and staff who notice distress before it escalates tend to matter far more than decor. Thirty five homes serve Liverpool according to current registration data, which is enough choice to be genuinely selective.
Reading the inspection picture
The Care Quality Commission has rated most of this group Good, twenty two of them in total. Nine carry a Requires Improvement judgement, three have been found Inadequate, and one holds no published rating as yet. A single word never tells the whole story, so it is worth opening the report itself. Some homes are marked down on record keeping or recruitment checks while the care people receive is sound, and others look acceptable on the surface while the concerns sit squarely in daily support. Brooklands Care Home, Croxteth Park Care Home and Eldonian House Care Centre currently hold Good ratings, while Stonedale Lodge Care Home and Arncliffe Court Care Home are among those rated Inadequate.
Questions worth asking on a visit
Ask what proportion of staff have completed training specific to dementia and who leads on it. Ask how the home supports someone who walks with purpose, becomes unsettled in the evening, or no longer recognises family. Ask whether residents can bring their own furniture and whether mealtimes flex around the person. The answers will tell you more about a home than any brochure manages.
Choosing between dementia care homes in Liverpool
Beginning with a care needs assessment
Before cost enters the conversation, the person needing care is entitled to a care needs assessment. This is carried out by the Liverpool City Council social care team, the authority responsible for assessing need and arranging funded support, and it establishes what level of care is required and whether a residential placement is the right answer at all. A separate financial assessment follows, looking at income, savings and property to work out what contribution is expected. Requesting the assessment early is wise, because the process takes time and decisions made under pressure rarely hold up well.
What a placement tends to cost
Residential dementia care in England is normally charged as a weekly fee, and specialist dementia support generally costs more than standard residential care because of the staffing it requires. Where savings fall below the national threshold, the local authority may meet part or all of the cost, and some people qualify for NHS continuing healthcare where their needs are primarily clinical. Fees differ between the homes on this page, so ask each one plainly what is included, what is billed as an extra, and how often fees are reviewed. Having that in writing before any contract is signed avoids an uncomfortable conversation later on.
Keeping the shortlist manageable
With thirty five options, the practical approach is to filter on rating and travelling distance first, visit three or four, then compare what you actually saw rather than what you read. Each profile on this page links through to the full inspection report for that home, which remains the most reliable evidence available to you.
Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Liverpool
How many dementia care homes are there in Liverpool?
Liverpool has 40 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 85 CQC registered care homes in Liverpool: 26 Good, 8 Requires improvement, 3 Inadequate, 3 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.
Which dementia care homes in Liverpool were inspected most recently?
Christopher Grange Residential Care (28 August 2026), Arncliffe Court Care Home (26 June 2026) and Cressington Court Care Home (19 June 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.
Which providers in Liverpool offer dementia care?
40 residential care homes serving Liverpool are listed on this page, and each one appears because it is registered to support people living with dementia. The group includes homes such as Brooklands Care Home, Cloisters Care Home, Maple Lodge, Tithebarn and Garden Lodge Care Home. Registration alone does not tell you how well a home does that work, so the rating and the inspection report behind it are the parts worth reading. Opening each profile gives you the published detail for that provider.
What should I ask when visiting a dementia care home in Liverpool?
Ask how many staff are on duty overnight and how long the current team has been in post, because consistency matters enormously to someone with dementia. Ask what dementia training staff complete and how the home responds when a resident becomes distressed or disorientated. Ask to see a weekly activity plan and whether families can visit without an appointment. It is also fair to ask what the home was told to improve at its last inspection and what has changed since.
How does a dementia care home differ from a dementia nursing home?
A residential dementia care home provides personal care and supervision, with trained care staff supporting daily life and a community nurse or general practitioner called in when needed. A dementia nursing home additionally employs registered nurses on site, which suits people with ongoing clinical needs such as complex medication regimes, wounds or feeding support. Every provider listed on this page is a residential care home rather than a nursing home. If nursing input is likely to be required soon, that distinction should shape your search from the start.
Can Liverpool City Council fund a dementia care home placement?
It can, where both the assessed need and the financial assessment support it. Liverpool City Council first establishes through a care needs assessment that residential care is appropriate, then looks at income, savings and property to decide what the person contributes. Where capital falls below the national threshold, the authority may meet part or all of the weekly fee. Some people instead receive NHS continuing healthcare, which applies when needs are primarily health related rather than social.
How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Liverpool?
Contact the adult social care team at Liverpool City Council and request an assessment for the person needing care. Anyone who appears to need support is entitled to one regardless of income, and it can be requested by the person themselves, a relative or a professional on their behalf. A social worker or assessor will discuss daily living, safety, memory and the support already in place. The written outcome then sets out what level of care is recommended and opens the question of funding.
How far in advance should I start looking for dementia care?
Starting several months before a move feels necessary gives you a real advantage, because good homes fill and assessments take weeks rather than days. Early looking also lets the person needing care take part in the decision while they are able to express a preference. Families who begin only after a crisis, such as a hospital discharge or a carer falling ill, almost always face a narrower set of options. Using this page to build a longer list now costs nothing and makes any later decision far calmer.
