About Us

Damfield Gardens is a care home in Liverpool serving families across Sefton and the surrounding area. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available.

We would rather tell you this ourselves than have you find it elsewhere. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us as requires improvement. We are not going to write around it. We took the findings seriously, we have an improvement plan we are working through, and if you come and see us you should ask directly what has changed and what is still outstanding. You will get a straight answer.

What has not changed is how we think people should be treated. This is their home. Residents choose how their rooms look, when they get up, what they do with the day and who visits. We plan care person by person, because what settles somebody with dementia is not what helps somebody living with a long standing mental health condition, and one routine across everybody suits nobody.

Real improvement comes from listening to residents and relatives and then acting on it rather than recording it. That is where our attention sits at the moment, and we welcome anybody who wants to hold us to it.
