About Oaklawn
Oaklawn is a residential care home in Epsom. We support older people and adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, and our aim is a household that runs at a human pace rather than an institutional one. For our older residents the support is the everyday sort: help to wash and dress, meals that people look forward to, medication managed properly, company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not. For the adults we support who have a learning disability or who are autistic, it is often about keeping routines steady, supporting choice and helping people take part in what they enjoy, whether that is a regular class, a job, or simply a favourite walk. We think carefully about how those different needs sit alongside one another, and about the shared spaces in particular, because noise, busyness and unpredictability affect some people far more than others. Respite stays are available too. A short break can give a family carer proper rest, and it gives us a chance to get to know somebody before any longer arrangement is considered. Families across Surrey find us easy to reach and we welcome visitors without appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Do ring if you would like to look round.
