About Mr & Mrs A H Akbarally
Mr & Mrs A H Akbarally is a residential care home in Epsom, Surrey, and we think of it first as a house where people live rather than a place where care is delivered. Our approach is quiet and domestic. People get up when they wake, eat what they enjoy, keep their own belongings around them and carry on with the interests they had before they moved in. We provide residential care, and we have particular experience in supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. That work is built on knowing people properly, understanding how someone communicates, what unsettles them and what helps them settle again, and then keeping things predictable enough that they can relax. Where it helps, we support people to take on more for themselves, whether that is shopping, cooking or getting out into Epsom independently. We also offer respite stays. These matter both to the person coming to us, who should feel like a guest rather than a temporary case, and to the families who need a break and want to take it without worrying. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased about that, though what tells us more is whether people seem at ease here and whether relatives feel welcome to drop in and ask questions. If you would like to visit and see the place for yourself, you would be very welcome.
