About Hillcroft
Hillcroft is a residential care home in Epsom, Surrey, supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, younger adults, people with physical disabilities, those with a visual or hearing impairment, people managing mental ill health and older people who need residential care. Respite stays are available as well. With that range of people living here, no single routine would suit everybody, so we plan around individuals. For some residents that means practical help with personal care, medication and mobility. For others it is mainly about structure and confidence, and having somebody reliable nearby while they do things for themselves, whether that is cooking, managing money, getting out to a group or holding down work. Independence here is practical rather than decorative. People shop, cook, choose their own furnishings and decide how a Saturday goes. Where somebody finds change unsettling we keep routines predictable and give warning well ahead, and where communication is difficult we learn a person's own way of expressing themselves rather than expecting them to adapt to us. Knowing people properly is what makes the difference. Staff who understand what a good day looks like for somebody notice when things start to slip, and that is usually what stops a small difficulty becoming a crisis. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for a placement in Epsom, for yourself, a relative or someone you support professionally, please arrange to visit and see how the house works.
