About Gibralter Crescent
Gibralter Crescent is a residential care home in Epsom, Surrey, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, people with a physical disability and those living with a visual or hearing impairment. We work mainly with younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for people who need support for a shorter period. The people who live here are adults with their own preferences, opinions and plans, and our job is to support those rather than to manage them. Residents decide how their days go, what they eat, how their rooms look and what they want to work towards. Some are building skills around cooking, budgeting, travel or employment. Others want support to keep doing the things they already enjoy and to stay close to family and friends. Support plans are written with each person, using whatever way of communicating works best for them, which matters particularly where a sensory impairment is part of the picture. We pay careful attention to what helps someone feel settled and what causes them stress, and we shape routines and surroundings around that instead of expecting people to adapt to us. We work alongside community teams, therapists and local health services, and families and advocates are genuinely welcome here. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us good overall. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see how we work.
