About Us
Canford Chase is a nursing home in Poole. Registered nurses are part of our team at all hours, working alongside care staff who come to know each person here very well. We support older adults and younger adults, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We say so plainly and we take it as something to keep earning rather than something concluded.
People generally come to us when nursing need has grown beyond what could be safely managed at home, or after an illness or hospital admission that has changed what somebody can do. We try to make that move as gentle as possible, which mostly means listening properly at the beginning and not hurrying anybody into our habits.
The clinical care has to be dependable and we hold ourselves to that. But a nursing home is somewhere people live, sometimes for a long time, so the ordinary things carry equal weight. Food that is worth eating, a say in when the day begins, familiar belongings, and visitors who are welcome rather than tolerated.
Families usually know things about a person that no assessment will capture, so we ask them instead of assuming, and we tell them when something changes rather than waiting to be asked.
Please get in touch if you would like to visit or to discuss a place.
