About Us
Home Instead Senior Care provides support in people's own homes in Kendal and across the surrounding area. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and younger adults.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that, and also conscious that a rating describes a moment rather than a promise, so we would rather tell you how we work and let you judge for yourself.
The short version is that we build support around the household rather than around our rota. Before anything begins we spend real time working out what would genuinely help, what a person would rather keep doing themselves and how they like things done in their own home. Then we build a small, settled team around them and protect it, because a familiar face at the door changes the whole feel of a visit.
For people living with dementia that familiarity is worth more than almost anything else, and we take time to learn about a person's life so that we can make sense of what we see and respond well to it. Where we support autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and younger adults, the emphasis is on enabling rather than doing.
