About Us
Creative Support provides personalised support in people's own homes in Barrow in Furness and the surrounding area. Our work starts from what somebody wants their life to look like, and the support is shaped around that rather than around what is convenient for us.
For older people we help with personal care, medication, meals, housework, shopping and getting out and about. For people living with dementia we keep the same staff involved wherever we can, follow the routine that already exists and avoid moving things about in a home somebody knows by heart.
We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, where the emphasis is usually independence: cooking, budgeting, travelling locally, keeping appointments and having staff who understand how a person communicates. For adults with mental health needs we offer reliability and respectful company rather than a long list of tasks. We help people with a physical disability to move safely and manage at home, and where somebody has sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and explain what we are doing.
We take time to get to know a person before making plans, and we involve the people who matter to them where that is wanted. Support is reviewed as things change rather than left to go stale.
