About Us

Lakeland Care and Support provides care in people's own homes in Barrow in Furness and the surrounding area. We work with older people and younger adults across a wide range of needs, including dementia, learning disability and autism, mental health conditions, physical disability, visual or hearing impairment, eating disorders, and the effects of alcohol or drug misuse.

Because that range is broad, we plan individually rather than offering standard packages. We meet the person, and anyone they want with them, work out what would genuinely help, and write it down in plain language so that every carer who visits works to the same understanding.

Support might be personal care, medication and meals, or it might be wider, covering household tasks, shopping, appointments, getting out of the house, or keeping a routine together that has become hard to manage alone.

We think about who we send, because in someone's own home the fit between carer and client matters as much as the task list. We aim for small, consistent teams and for arriving when we said we would, and we tell people promptly if anything has to change.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would be glad to talk through what support might look like for you.
