Home Care in Walsall 87 home care agencies · 32 rated Good by CQC

Staying put with help coming in is what most people would choose, and the home care agencies in Walsall listed here are the practical shape that choice takes once a family decides against a move. 87 agencies registered to provide care in people's own homes appear on this page. One holds an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission and thirty are rated Good, while eight are rated Requires Improvement and forty six are not yet rated. Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council is the authority that carries out the care needs assessment recording what help a person requires, and the financial assessment that establishes whether public money covers part of the cost. Begin with the agencies that cover your address, since coverage rules out more options than rating does, then read their inspection reports in full and let those findings shape what you ask on the telephone. Coverage, capacity and timekeeping are the three things a family notices within a fortnight, so press on all three before agreeing a start date.

    • Home Care

We at Housing 21 Mattesley Court are proud to provide compassionate home care to older people across Walsall and the surrounding West Midlands community. Based in the WS postcode area, our team supports individuals to live safely, comfortably and independently in the place they know best: their own home. Our service is rooted in the familiar streets and neighbourhoods of Walsall, meaning our care workers understand the local community and can respond promptly to the people who rely on us. Rather than asking residents to adjust to an unfamiliar setting, we bring thoughtful, personalised support directly to their doorstep, whether that is a family home, a bungalow or a flat within sheltered accommodation. This approach helps the people we support to remain surrounded by their cherished belongings, treasured memories and local connections. Our specialisms include older person care, dementia care and support for adults living with a physical disability. In practice, this means our care workers are experienced in helping with the everyday tasks that can become more challenging over time, such as personal care, mobility support, medication prompts, meal preparation and companionship. For those living with dementia, we take a patient, reassuring approach, focusing on gentle routines, clear communication and preserving each person's sense of identity and dignity. For adults with physical disabilities, we tailor our support to promote independence, offering practical assistance whilst always respecting personal choice and autonomy. We understand that arranging care for a loved one is a significant decision, often made during a difficult or uncertain period. That is why we place great emphasis on getting to know each individual, their history, their preferences and the small daily rituals that bring them comfort. Families are welcomed as partners in care, and we encourage open, ongoing conversations so that support can adapt as needs change. At our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection, we were rated Good overall, with Good ratings across the Safe, Effective, Caring and Responsive domains. The Well-led domain was rated Requires Improvement, and we have taken this feedback seriously, using it as an opportunity to strengthen our leadership and governance whilst maintaining the warm, attentive care our community values. This balanced picture reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency and continuous improvement. If you are exploring home care options in Walsall for yourself or someone dear to you, we warmly invite you to get in touch. Our team is here to listen, answer your questions and help you understand how we can support your family with kindness, respect and genuine care.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Walsall. Those we support include older adults, people living with dementia, autistic adults and people with learning disabilities, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Our work covers personal care, help with medication, meals, shopping and keeping a household running, together with the company a regular visit brings. We try to aim that help at what has genuinely become difficult rather than taking over what somebody can still manage themselves. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather put that here than have a family find it elsewhere and wonder why we said nothing about it. We accept what was identified and we are working through it. We are not going to claim in a paragraph that everything is resolved, because that is not something we could honestly promise. What we would ask is that anybody considering us puts the question to us directly and presses for specifics: what was found, what has changed, what is still in hand. We would also encourage people to speak to those we already visit, since their view of us is worth more than ours. We would far rather be judged on that than on anything we could write here.

    • Home Care

We are Blue Skies Healthcare, and we support adults in their own homes in Wednesbury and across the surrounding parts of the Black Country. Our visits range from a single short call each day through to several hours of support, arranged to fit the person's routine rather than our convenience. We help older people with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and the household jobs that become harder with time. We support adults living with dementia, where familiar faces arriving at predictable times achieve more than any amount of technique, so we keep the same care workers with the same households as far as the rota allows. We also support people with physical disabilities, taking care over equipment and over how each person prefers to be assisted, and younger adults who want help that steps back as they take on more themselves. Everything starts with a visit and a proper conversation at home, with family or an advocate present if that is wanted. We agree what the calls are for, what must never be missed and what the person would rather manage alone, and we write it down and review it honestly. Our care workers are recruited with full checks and references, trained before working alone and properly supervised. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission. Please get in touch.

    • Home Care

Housing 21 at Knaves Court provides care and support to people living in their own flats in Walsall. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, those managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people living with a visual or hearing impairment. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us outstanding overall. We are proud of that, and we also treat it as a snapshot rather than a guarantee, so we keep scrutinising our own work as closely as any inspector would. What sits behind it is fairly ordinary. People here have their own front door and their own life, and our job is to support that rather than take it over. We agree with each person what help they want, at what times and in what way, write it down in plain language and then do what we said we would do. Support can cover personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out and about. Living in a scheme like this means company is close at hand for those who want it and privacy is there for those who do not. Our staff know residents well, which is what allows them to notice when something has changed and raise it early. Families are welcome and kept informed. Please get in touch if you would like to know more or to look round.

    • Home Care

We are the We Care Centre, based in Walsall, and we provide care in people's own homes across the borough. We support older people, including many living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Our reason for doing home care rather than anything else is simple. Home is where the routines make sense, where you know where everything is kept, and where you are still the one who decides. Support that keeps somebody there is usually worth more than support that moves them somewhere unfamiliar, and it is often less than people imagine. Every arrangement begins with a conversation in the person's own home. How does the day run now? What has become difficult? What do you still want to do for yourself, and where would a hand actually help? From those answers we agree the visits, which might be one short call a day, several calls, or a longer stretch so that a relative caring full time gets a proper break. For people living with dementia, familiarity does more good than anything else we could offer, so we work hard to send the same carers to the same households. We have not yet had an overall rating published by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather tell you that ourselves, and we are happy to answer anything you want to ask about how we recruit and train.

    • Home Care

Essence Health provides care and support in people's own homes across Walsall. We are here for people who want to carry on living in their own place and need some help to make that safe and manageable. Most of our work is with older adults. That can mean a short call to help with getting up, washing, dressing and medication, help with meals, shopping and keeping the house in order, or longer visits for people who need closer support and company through the day. We ask what a person actually wants rather than handing them a standard package, and we would sooner change an arrangement that has stopped suiting them than leave it running because it was what we first agreed. We also support people with physical disabilities, helping with personal care, mobility and getting out of the house, and doing so in a way that leaves the person deciding how things are done. We support younger adults too, whose days are shaped by work, study, family or their own plans, and whose care should fit around those things. We keep the number of different workers visiting each person as small as we can, because familiarity lets people relax and lets us notice changes early. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Please get in touch with any questions.

    • Home Care

We at MSA Care Walsall are proud to provide compassionate home care across Walsall and the wider West Midlands, supporting people to live safely and comfortably in the place they know best: their own home. As a dedicated home care agency, we bring professional support directly to your doorstep, tailored to the individual needs of every person we visit. Based in the WS postcode area, our team is well placed to reach households throughout Walsall and the surrounding communities. Rather than asking people to adapt to an unfamiliar setting, we come to you, weaving our support around the rhythms of your household, your routines, and the familiar comforts that make a house a home. Whether that means a morning visit to help start the day well, companionship during quieter hours, or more comprehensive daily support, our care is delivered with warmth and respect for personal space. Our specialisms reflect the breadth of people we are privileged to support. For older adults, we offer thoughtful assistance with everyday living, from personal care and medication prompts to help with meals, mobility, and staying connected with loved ones. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and understanding, recognising that consistency, gentle reassurance, and familiar surroundings can make a meaningful difference to wellbeing. For adults living with learning disabilities or autism, we focus on enabling independence, promoting choice, and supporting people to pursue the activities and interests that matter to them. We also support younger adults and individuals living with mental health needs, offering steady, non judgemental care that respects each person's goals and personal journey. In practice, this means families can expect a considered approach to care planning, where we take time to understand not just clinical needs but personality, preferences, and daily life. For relatives, this often brings enormous peace of mind. Knowing a trusted carer is visiting a loved one to help with the essentials, and to share a friendly conversation, can ease the worry that so many families quietly carry. The Care Quality Commission rated MSA Care Walsall as Good overall at its latest inspection in November 2021, with a Good rating awarded across every one of the five key domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. Achieving Good in each area reflects a rounded commitment to quality: our team is safe and reliable, our care is effective and grounded in good practice, we treat people with genuine kindness, we respond thoughtfully to individual needs, and we are guided by strong, values driven leadership. Choosing home care is a significant decision, and we understand that families often begin this journey with questions, uncertainty, and a deep desire to get things right. We are here to help. If you are exploring care options in Walsall for yourself or someone you love, we warmly invite you to get in touch with MSA Care Walsall to talk through your situation, share what matters most, and discover how our team can support your family with dignity, kindness, and confidence.

    • Home Care

At One World Care, we provide home care to people living in Walsall and the surrounding areas, supporting individuals to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. We believe that where you live matters, and for most people, home is where they feel safest and most themselves. We work with older people, younger adults, and individuals living with dementia or a physical disability. Every person we support has their own routines, preferences, and way of doing things, and we take the time to understand what matters to each individual before we begin. Care plans are built around the person, not the other way around. Dementia care is an area we take particularly seriously. We know how unsettling changes in routine or environment can be for someone living with dementia, and so keeping people at home, surrounded by familiar faces and surroundings, can make a real difference to their wellbeing. We work closely with families throughout this process, because good care rarely happens in isolation. For people living with a physical disability, whether from birth or acquired later in life, we aim to provide support that promotes independence rather than replacing it. Our role is to be there when help is needed, not to take over. We are straightforward with the people we support and their families. If something is working well, we will say so. If something needs to change, we will have that conversation honestly and promptly. We think families deserve to feel informed and confident about the care their loved ones are receiving. We are based in Walsall and proud to be a local provider. The people we support are part of this community, and so are we. If you would like to find out more about how we can help, we would be very glad to hear from you.

Bellamy House supports adults to live in their own homes across Willenhall and the surrounding parts of Walsall. Our starting point is that a home belongs to the person living in it, and that support belongs in the background of a life rather than at the centre of it. We work with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, with people managing mental health conditions, with people living with a physical disability, with people who have sight or hearing loss, and with younger adults. What we do varies a great deal from person to person. For some it is help with personal care, medication and the practical running of a household. For others it is about keeping a tenancy going, managing money, cooking, shopping, getting to work or college, and staying in touch with the people who matter. Communication is something we take time over, because people express themselves in many different ways. Routines are kept steady and changes explained in advance. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we prefer to say so openly. If you are making a referral or looking into support for somebody, please get in touch and we will take it at whatever pace suits.

    • Home Care

Safety Net Healthcare provides support at home to adults across Walsall. We visit older people who need help to carry on living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions and younger adults who need support to live independently. Our visits cover personal care given without rushing, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals, help with laundry, shopping and keeping the home in order, and getting out to appointments or simply out for some air and company. For people living with dementia, staying at home is often the one thing keeping them settled, and that makes continuity essential rather than merely desirable. The same carers arriving at the same times will do more good than anything else we could offer, so we plan rotas around that rather than around convenience. Alongside the practical tasks sits the part that appears on no schedule, which is noticing. A carer who knows somebody well can tell when they are eating less, sleeping badly or seeming more confused, and raising that early is often what keeps a person out of hospital. We are guests in the homes we work in, and our staff are expected to behave that way. Please get in touch if you are arranging care at home in Walsall.

Treblled Healthcare Solutions supports people across Walsall in their own homes. We arrange visits around existing routines rather than around what is convenient for a rota, and we work to keep the same carers going to the same people. We support older people who need help with the everyday tasks that have become harder, personal care, medication, meals, shopping and getting out of the house. We support people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than anything written down. We also work with people living with a physical disability, where good support is mostly about restoring practical independence, and with younger adults, whose needs and priorities often look quite different from the usual picture of home care. We think the quality of home care comes down to fairly ordinary things. Does the carer turn up when we said. Do they stay the full time. Do they know the person well enough to notice that something is not right. Those are the standards we hold ourselves to. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so outright. In the meantime, test us on those points and hold us to whatever we tell you.

What stays constant is that we ask before we assume, plan around the person rather than the label, and keep the same carers with the same households wherever the rota allows. In the more difficult parts of our work we are practical rather than moralising. Somebody trying to change their circumstances needs stability, straightforward help and people who do not disappear when a week goes badly. We are also honest about limits. If we are not the right fit for a household we will say so rather than take the work and hope. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Carers who know a household well see these things, which is why we protect continuity as far as the rota allows and why we would rather send a small group of familiar faces than whoever happens to be free. At Housing 21 Winehala Court we support people across Walsall to go on living in their own homes, with the right help at the right time and no more fuss than is needed. Our care is arranged around each person rather than around a timetable, so a visit might mean help with washing and dressing, a hand with medication, preparing a meal, or simply having someone reliable call in and make sure all is well. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss. That range matters, because it means we can keep supporting someone as their needs change rather than passing them elsewhere. We take time at the start to learn how a person likes things done, what they can manage themselves, and where they would rather have support, and we write that into the plan we agree together. Family and friends are part of this too. We keep relatives informed, we are straightforward when something needs to change, and we would always rather have an awkward conversation early than a difficult one later. Our staff are trained for the care they deliver and are supported by colleagues they can call on. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, which reflects the steady, everyday work our team does rather than anything exceptional on the day. We are always happy to talk things through with anyone considering care in Walsall, whether that is a few hours a week or daily support.

Harmony Revival Supported Living provides care and support to people in their own homes in Wednesbury and across the Walsall area. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia or with mental ill health, people with a learning disability, people who are autistic, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Supported living rests on a simple principle: the home belongs to the person, and we are there by invitation. We help with the things that get in the way of independent living and we leave alone the things that do not need us. That might be personal care and medication, cooking and shopping, managing bills and appointments, keeping a tenancy on track, or support to get out to work, college or family. Support is agreed with the person, written down plainly and reviewed as circumstances change. When somebody is going through a bad patch we can increase hours, and when they recover we reduce them again rather than assuming the change is permanent. We recruit for reliability and respect. Being in somebody's home calls for good manners as much as good technique. If you are looking into supported living or home care in the Walsall area, please contact us and we will discuss honestly whether we are the right team for you.

Maaya Care supports people in their own homes across Walsall. We work with older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, and people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. We plan support around the person rather than around a standard package. The first conversation is about what has become difficult, what someone would rather keep doing alone, and who else they want involved. What follows is written in plain language and shared, so that everyone who visits knows what matters and why. Visits may cover help with washing and dressing, support with medication, meals, laundry and housework, shopping, or help getting out to appointments and to see people. For some of our clients the visit that counts most is simply the regular one that checks all is well and brings some company with it. We keep teams small and consistent. Familiar faces make personal care easier to accept, particularly for someone living with dementia or a sensory impairment, and familiar carers notice early when something has changed. Timekeeping matters to us, so we plan rounds we can genuinely keep and tell people promptly when anything has to move. Please get in touch if you would like to talk things through.

    • Home Care

One Touch Quality Kare is a home care agency working across Walsall. We support people in their own homes, which we think is where most people would rather be, and our job is to make that workable rather than simply wished for. The people we visit are not all in the same position. Some are older and need help with washing, dressing, medication or getting a proper meal. Some are living with dementia and need the steadiness of a familiar face at the same time each day. We also support younger adults, autistic people and adults with a learning disability, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, and people working through problems with alcohol or drugs. That range means we cannot use one approach for everyone, so we spend time at the start understanding what a good day looks like for the person and what tends to derail it. We match care workers thoughtfully and keep them consistent, because trust is built by turning up reliably rather than by promising anything. Our staff are trained for the specific needs they will meet, and senior staff are reachable when something needs a proper decision instead of a guess. We keep families in the loop where the person wants that. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we are building our record visit by visit.

5 Care provides support at home to adults across Walsall. We work with older people who need help to carry on living in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment and younger adults who need support to live independently. Those are very different kinds of support and we do not pretend one approach covers them all. For older people and people living with dementia, the priority is usually continuity and reliability: the same carers, arriving when they said they would, with enough time to do things properly rather than against the clock. For younger adults and people with a learning disability, it is more often about independence, whether that means cooking, handling money, getting to work or college, or keeping up with friends. For autistic people in particular, how support is given matters as much as what is given. Clear information, consistent staff and honest notice before anything changes prevent most difficulties before they start. We are guests in the homes we work in. Staff are expected to behave that way, to do what was agreed and to tell us plainly when something has changed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk about what would help.

SentriCare provides support at home to adults across Walsall. The people we work with include older people who need help to stay in their own houses, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults who need support to live independently, people living with an eating disorder and people dealing with alcohol or drug misuse. That breadth only works because support is built around the individual. A morning call to help an older person wash and dress has almost nothing in common with supporting somebody through recovery, or with helping an autistic adult run their own household on their own terms. So we assess properly, agree the support with the person, and change it when their circumstances change. Some of the areas we work in carry real stigma, and people have often had more experience of being judged than helped. We try to be straightforward and useful instead. Staff are expected to be reliable, discreet and honest, and to remember that they are guests in somebody's home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are JW Compassionate Care, based in Wednesbury and supporting people in their own homes across Walsall and the surrounding area. We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to live independently. Everything starts with a visit rather than a price list. We sit down with the person, and with family if that is what they want, and work out what has become difficult, what is still manageable and what kind of help would genuinely fit their day. The plan comes from that conversation and gets revised as things change instead of sitting untouched until a review falls due. What we provide might be a single morning call to get somebody washed, dressed and fed, or several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and keeping the household running. For a fair number of the people we visit, the company is the part of the call that matters most, and we count that as part of the job rather than an extra. We keep the same carers going to the same people as far as the rota allows, and our staff are trained and properly supervised. Please get in touch if you would like to talk about support at home.

GA Olive provides care at home for people across Walsall. We support people in the place they know best, with as much or as little help as they need, from a single call each morning through to several visits a day. Most of the people we visit are older. We help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals and drinks, laundry, shopping and keeping the home comfortable, and we help people get out of the house, which is often the first thing to slip and one of the most important to keep going. We also notice the quieter changes, a fading appetite or somebody less steady than they were last month, and raise them early with the family or the doctor. For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers going into the same homes wherever the rota allows, work with the routine the household already has and avoid moving things about. For people with a physical disability we help with safe moving and with managing day to day as independently as possible. We also support younger adults, arranging visits around work, study and family life rather than our own convenience. Our care workers are trained for the people they actually visit, and we will be honest with you if a need is beyond what we can safely provide. We provide care at home in Walsall, visiting people in their own homes to help with the everyday things that have become difficult. Our work covers washing and dressing, help with medication, meals, shopping and keeping a household running, alongside the company that a regular caller brings. We aim it at what has genuinely become difficult and leave alone what the person would rather keep managing themselves. We are also in somebody else's home as a guest, and we try to behave accordingly: we knock and wait, we ask before moving anything, and we put things back where they live. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather put that here than have a family find it elsewhere and wonder why we said nothing about it. We accept what was identified and we are working through it. We are not going to claim in a paragraph that everything is resolved, because that would not be honest. What we would ask is that anybody considering us asks us directly and presses for specifics: what was found, what has changed, and what is still in hand. We would also encourage people to speak to those we already visit.

Kind Hearted Healthcare is a home care agency supporting people in Willenhall and the surrounding area in their own homes. Most people manage far better in familiar surroundings, and our job is to make staying at home realistic rather than simply something people hope for. We support older people who need help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and getting about safely, and people living with dementia, where an unhurried manner and a carer who is already familiar achieve far more than a detailed plan handed to a stranger. We also work with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, usually with an emphasis on building confidence rather than taking tasks away from people, and with younger adults, whose needs and priorities often look quite different. We plan our visits so that people see the same small group of carers. That continuity is what allows our team to spot when someone is not their usual self, which is frequently how a small concern is dealt with before it becomes a serious one. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until then we would ask to be judged on the ordinary things, whether calls happen on time, whether we stay the full visit and whether the office is easy to reach when you need an answer.

Advance Healthcare (Oakwood Lodge) supports people across Willenhall and the surrounding area in their own homes. We arrange visits around the routines somebody already has rather than around what suits a rota, and we aim to keep the same carers going to the same people. We support older people who need help with the everyday tasks that have become harder, personal care, medication, meals, shopping and getting out safely. We support people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience are worth more than any amount of written instruction handed to a stranger. We also work with people living with a physical disability, where good support is mostly about restoring practical independence, people with sight or hearing loss, where sensible adjustments change how a day feels, and younger adults, whose priorities are often quite different. We take a plain view of quality. Does the carer arrive when we said. Do they stay the full visit. Do they know the person well enough to notice a change. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that clearly. Until then, test us on those points.

Dignus Support provides support to adults with learning disabilities, to autistic adults, and to people managing mental health conditions, living in their own homes across Walsall. Nearly everyone we work with is a younger adult. The point of our work is an ordinary life rather than a managed one. That means supporting people to run their own homes, to manage money, to get to work or college, to keep appointments, to see friends and family, and to handle the parts of daily life that are genuinely difficult. We do those parts and leave the rest alone, even when doing it ourselves would be quicker, because taking over is easy and hard to undo. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition, consistency and an absence of judgement matter more than any technique. We turn up when we said we would, and we stay involved when things are difficult rather than only when they are going well. We match staff to people with care and keep those teams small and steady, because the relationship is where the value lies. A support worker who understands somebody notices when things are wrong long before it becomes a crisis. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Steady Care Solution is a home care agency in Walsall, supporting adults in their own homes across the borough. The people we work with are a broad mix: older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and people managing a mental health condition. That range means there is no single way of working, and we plan each person's support individually rather than fitting them to a standard pattern. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We would rather set that out clearly and ask families to judge us on the practical measures instead: whether we arrive when we said, whether the same care workers keep coming back, and whether somebody who knows the situation answers the phone when something goes wrong. Support is agreed with the individual and with anyone they want involved, written in plain words and revisited when circumstances change. Where somebody communicates without speech, we learn how they do it rather than guessing. We are Care 2 U, and we provide care and support to adults in their own homes across Walsall. We support a wider range of people than many agencies of our size, and that is deliberate, because people rarely arrive with a single tidy label. We help older people with personal care, medication, meals and shopping, and we support adults living with dementia, where familiarity and a steady routine do most of the work. We support adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also support adults recovering from eating disorders and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use, working closely with the health professionals involved. Some of those we support are younger adults building the skills to run their own household. Supporting that mix properly means being specific. Every package starts with a visit at home, the plan is written with the person, and where risk is part of the picture we discuss it openly and look for ways to support somebody safely rather than simply refusing. We support older adults with the everyday things that have become harder: washing and dressing, medication, meals, keeping the house in order and getting out when they want to. We support people living with dementia, where a familiar face arriving at an expected time is worth more than anything else we could arrange. We work with people who have physical disabilities, assisting with personal care and mobility in a way that leaves the person in charge of how it is done, and with people who have a visual or hearing impairment, adapting how we announce ourselves, speak and explain what we are about to do. We support younger adults too, whose weeks are shaped by work, study, family or their own plans and whose care should fit around those things rather than take them over. We keep the number of different workers visiting each person as small as we can, because familiarity lets people relax and lets us notice changes early. That is a wide remit and it only works if we start by listening. No two of these situations call for the same response, so we sit down with the person, find out what they want their days to look like and where help is genuinely needed, and build the visits from there. It takes longer at the outset and saves a great deal of trouble later. The support might be personal care, medication, meals, shopping, getting out of the house, household tasks, or simply company for somebody who lives alone and sees very few people. My Pillar is a home care agency in Walsall, supporting people in their own homes across the borough. The name says what we are for. When someone needs a bit of propping up to carry on living the way they want, that is our job. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have a learning disability, with autistic people, with people who have mental health needs, with people who have physical disabilities and with people who have sight or hearing loss. A visit may involve personal care, support with medication, preparing meals, help with mobility and moving safely about the home, household tasks and shopping, company, or support to get out to appointments and to see people. We begin by listening to the person and anyone they want present, work out what the day and the week actually need to look like, and write the plan around that. Plans are reviewed when circumstances change. We keep the same small team visiting each person wherever we can, and our carers are trained for the particular needs of the people they see. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Norvia Care Solutions is a home care agency in Walsall, supporting people in their own homes across the borough. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have a learning disability, with autistic people and with people living with a physical disability. Working across that range keeps us honest. An older person recovering from a fall and a young autistic adult trying to keep a job going need very different things, and the only way to get either right is to ask rather than assume. So we assess properly, we are candid about what we do well, and we match carers to people deliberately rather than sending whoever happens to be free. The practical work covers personal care, medication managed and recorded properly, meals cooked, help about the house, support to move safely indoors, and help to get out and stay connected. For an older person that often means a steady routine at each end of the day. For a younger adult it is usually support arranged around work, college or a tenancy. Communication gets a lot of our attention. Some of the people we support do not use speech, and nearly every serious problem we are called in to resolve began with somebody not being listened to properly. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We are happy to explain how we recruit, train and supervise before you decide anything.

    • Home Care

We are a home care agency in Walsall, supporting people in their own homes across the borough. We work with older people and with younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairments. Supporting that range of needs means resisting the idea of a standard package. For an older person, help often centres on personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house manageable. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, handling money and keeping appointments. For an autistic person, the right staff and a predictable arrangement can matter more than the number of hours. So we ask first and plan second, then keep checking that what we put in place still suits. We also work hard at continuity, because nobody should have to explain themselves to a new face every week, and a carer who knows somebody will notice when they are unwell or unusually withdrawn. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can reach when a situation is unclear. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for support at home, do get in touch. We will be honest about what we can take on and what we cannot.

    • Home Care

Caring Care is a home care agency in Walsall. We provide support to people in their own homes across the borough, and that is the whole of what we do rather than a sideline to something else. Home care is a simple idea that is easy to do badly. Somebody arrives, works through a list, and leaves. Nothing in that is wrong on paper and all of it can be useless in practice if the person arriving is a stranger, is late, and does not know where anything is kept. So our attention goes to the things that are unglamorous and decisive. Turning up when we said we would. Sending the same small group of workers to the same household so that the face at the door is a known one. Allowing enough time in a visit that nobody has to be hurried through a wash or a meal. We begin with a conversation rather than a form. What can you still do for yourself. What has become difficult. What would you rather we did not touch. From that we agree what we will do, write it in plain language, and change it when things change. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are arranging support for yourself or for someone in your family, ring us. We will come to the house, listen first, and tell you honestly whether we can help.

    • Home Care

We are an intermediate care team working in people's own homes across Walsall. Those we support include older adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, younger adults, people living with eating disorders and people affected by alcohol or drug use. What makes our work different from ordinary home care is that we are trying to become unnecessary. People usually come to us after a fall, an illness or a hospital stay, and the purpose is to help them get back to managing rather than to settle into being looked after. We work for a short period, intensively, and we judge ourselves by whether somebody needs less help at the end than at the start. That means resisting the instinct to do things for people. Standing by while somebody slowly makes their own cup of tea is harder than making it for them, and it is the whole point. We explain that at the outset, because it can look unhelpful when in fact it is the treatment. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat a reluctance to complain as a reason to ask more carefully rather than a good sign.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Willenhall and the surrounding part of Walsall, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. People usually come to us at a point of change: a fall, a stay in hospital, a diagnosis, or the gradual realisation that managing alone has become harder than it was. Our part is practical. We arrange visits at the times that suit, help with washing and dressing, support with medication, a hand with meals, shopping and housework, and assistance to move about the house safely. Where needs are greater we arrange more frequent calls, and where they change we review the plan rather than leaving it as it was first agreed. What people really judge an agency on is whether carers arrive when they said they would and whether it is the same faces each week. We work at both. A carer who knows somebody notices when they are unwell, in pain or unusually withdrawn, and for people living with dementia a familiar and unhurried visit does more good than anything written in a care plan. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach senior colleagues for advice. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission and are happy to discuss that openly. If you are looking into care at home, please get in touch for an honest conversation.

    • Home Care

Customized Community Support provides care and support to people in their own homes in Willenhall and the surrounding part of Walsall. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, and visual and hearing impairment. We start by visiting at home and talking it through with the person and whoever they want present. What we are trying to establish is not only what help is needed but what the person would rather keep doing themselves, because support that takes over more than it has to does more harm than good. From that we agree a plan, which might be one call a day or several, covering personal care, medication, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and getting out. Given the range of needs we meet, training matters in a concrete way. Supporting an autistic person, supporting somebody in the later stages of dementia and supporting somebody with poor sight each call for different knowledge, and our carers have it before they go out. They are checked, trained and supervised, with senior colleagues they can actually reach. We are registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. If you are weighing up care at home, ask us the hard questions about continuity, timings and cost. They are the ones that decide whether an arrangement works.

Arranging and funding home care in Walsall

A package is assembled from calls of a set length at set times, and the art of it lies in matching those calls to the moments that have become hard rather than spreading help thinly across a day. One household needs somebody first thing to make getting up safe; another needs a hot meal and a prompt for tablets at midday; a third needs company in the evening when the hours stretch. Carers can also take on laundry, shopping and trips to appointments, and where visits stop being enough, overnight support and live in care are the usual next steps.

What separates a reliable agency from the rest

Ask whether the agency has capacity at the times you actually need, because a willing answer about everything else counts for little without it. Ask how many carers would come over a fortnight, whether a small named team is possible and what happens when one of them is off sick. Ask whether agreed times are firm slots or windows, and what the agency itself treats as a late call. Ask finally how the care plan is written and reviewed and how the family sees the notes from each visit.

Where the ratings fit

87 agencies are listed for the area. One is rated Outstanding, thirty are rated Good, eight are rated Requires Improvement and forty six have no rating yet. Nearly half the list therefore carries no published judgement, which usually reflects recent registration rather than anything troubling, but it does mean the evidence has to come from your own questions and from references. Where a rating exists, read the report beneath it and note the date, since an inspection from some years ago may describe a different operation.

Choosing between home care agencies in Walsall

Asking for a care needs assessment

The assessment is free, is open to anyone who appears to need support and does not depend on income or savings. An assessor looks at the ordinary detail of a day and writes down what help is needed and how often it should come. Ask Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council adult social care to arrange one, and if you are the relative holding things together, request a carer's assessment of your own needs at the same time. Even families who expect to pay privately gain from the written outcome, because every agency then quotes against the same brief.

Paying for support at home

A financial assessment of income and capital sets the contribution towards care the council arranges, measured against national thresholds. Support may follow as a commissioned package, as a direct payment used to buy care from an agency you choose, or as a private arrangement. Charging is normally by the hour or the visit, live in care is a weekly fee, and evenings, weekends and bank holidays cost more. Ask for the full schedule of charges in writing, including minimum call lengths and what is payable when a visit is cancelled at short notice.

Frequently asked questions about home care in Walsall

Which home care agencies in Walsall appear on this page?

Eighty five agencies registered to provide care at home in Walsall are gathered here, all regulated by the Care Quality Commission. One holds an Outstanding rating and thirty are rated Good, while eight are rated Requires Improvement and forty six are not yet rated. Each entry links to a profile carrying the inspection report in full. Check coverage of your address as well as the rating, because not every agency works across the whole area.

What is the difference between a care home and a nursing home?

A care home offers accommodation with personal care, meaning help with washing, dressing, meals and the pattern of the day from care staff. A nursing home provides the same support with registered nurses on duty, which becomes necessary where there are wounds to dress, complex medication or a condition needing clinical oversight. The Care Quality Commission registers each home for one or both, and the profile makes clear which applies. Home care sits outside both, since carers come to the person at home.

What should I ask a home care agency before agreeing a package?

Ask whether the agency currently has capacity at the times you need, which is the answer that decides everything else. Ask how many different carers would attend over a fortnight and whether a consistent team can be arranged. Find out what happens when a carer is off sick and how quickly the office tells the family. Ask as well what notice either side must give if the arrangement proves unsuitable.

How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Walsall?

Ask Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council adult social care for a care needs assessment, either for yourself or for a relative who agrees to it. A general practice or a hospital discharge team can also make the referral, which is common when someone is leaving hospital. The assessment is free, is not means tested and looks at what a person can manage alone and where support is needed. Request the outcome in writing, because funding decisions and agency quotes both build on it.

Can Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council help with the cost of home care?

It can, where the needs assessment identifies eligible needs and the financial assessment shows the person cannot meet the cost in full. Income and savings are weighed against national thresholds, and most people who qualify still contribute something towards their support. Help may arrive as a package the council commissions or as a direct payment that leaves the choice of agency with the family. Those above the threshold pay privately while keeping the right to an assessment and to advice.

How soon should we start arranging care at home?

Start as soon as the difficulty is obvious rather than waiting for a fall or an admission to force a decision. The busiest call times are taken first, so a package needing early mornings and evenings takes longer to arrange. Allow a few weeks where circumstances permit, covering the assessment, quotes and an introductory visit. If a discharge date is already set, say so, since that changes how quickly the council and agencies respond.
