Claremont is a residential care home in Goole. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and people living with dementia, including younger adults. We also offer respite stays. Supporting people with quite different needs works only if you plan around each person, so that is what we do. Everyone here has their own plan, agreed with them and with anyone they want involved, covering not just the help they need but what they want their days to hold. The basics apply to everybody. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how much company they want. Privacy is respected, personal care is given quietly and at the person's own pace, and rooms are furnished with people's own belongings. Where somebody does not use speech, we learn how they do communicate and make sure everyone supporting them knows. Where a person has mental health needs, we agree in advance what helps when things become difficult. When someone becomes distressed we look for the cause rather than the quickest way to stop it. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are registered with them and work to their standards. Families, advocates and professionals are welcome to visit and see how the house runs.

Windsor Court in Goole provides both residential and nursing care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We also take planned respite stays. Offering residential and nursing care under one roof matters more than it sounds. It means that when somebody's health needs increase, they do not automatically have to pack up and move somewhere unfamiliar. They can usually stay where their friends are, where the staff know their habits, and where their family already knows the way. Having qualified nurses here means conditions can be managed steadily and medicines properly reviewed, and it means fewer trips to hospital for things that can be handled well at home. But nursing is only part of it. Residents decide when to get up and how to spend their time, meals are something to look forward to, and visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried, and we work with what somebody can still do. Respite stays give family carers a genuine rest and let people leaving hospital recover with support before going home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives regularly what they make of us, and the critical answers get the most attention.

We are Beech Tree House, a residential care home in Goole. We look after older people, including those living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we also support younger adults. Respite stays are available. We keep things deliberately homely. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you like to wake, where you want your breakfast, whether you feel sociable today or would rather sit quietly with the paper: those decisions stay with you. A good deal of what makes a day here pleasant is quite ordinary, and we would rather describe it plainly than dress it up. For people living with dementia the useful work is in the detail. Knowing somebody's history and the work they did, recognising early what tends to unsettle them, being willing to go at their pace rather than the rota's. Done properly that prevents a great deal of distress before it starts. Where somebody has a physical disability, we give proper attention to access, equipment and getting about, so those needs are met without fuss. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to look round.

Prospect House in Goole provides residential care to older people and younger adults. Our residents include people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic people and people with a physical disability. With that range of needs we plan around the individual rather than the group. We ask a great many questions when someone moves in and we keep asking afterwards, about routines and preferences, about what helps when a day goes badly, and about who should be involved in decisions. The answers go into a plan our staff genuinely work to. Day to day we keep the home comfortable and unhurried. People get up when they are ready, meals are cooked here and adapted to individual tastes, and support with personal care is given at the resident's pace. Company is available for those who want it and quiet is respected for those who do not. For residents living with dementia we keep routines familiar and spend real time learning a person's history, because that is usually what settles someone who is anxious. We also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and visitors are welcome.

We are Sandhall Park, a residential care home in Goole, East Yorkshire. We support older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia and people managing a mental health condition, and we offer respite stays. Residential care means supporting people with what has become hard work and leaving everything else where it belongs, which is with the person. Washing and dressing, meals, medication, moving about safely, and the everyday company that makes a day worth having. For health needs beyond our registration we work alongside district nurses and GPs. Dementia shapes a good deal of our day. We have found that correcting somebody's account of things achieves nothing, and that knowing who a person has been tells us far more than any list of symptoms. Where a mental health condition is part of the picture, the same principles apply: consistency, staff who do not take a difficult day personally, and a routine people can lean on. Respite guests are assessed and welcomed exactly as permanent residents are. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

Westfield Park Care Home is a residential care home in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays. Life here runs at a domestic pace. People wake in their own time, choose where to spend the day, eat what they enjoy and keep the routines they have always had. Help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility is given when it is wanted, quietly and with respect for privacy. Caring well for people living with dementia rests on continuity and knowledge. We work hard to keep our team settled, because a carer who knows a resident's history, family and particular worries can ease a difficult moment in a way that no procedure can. We keep the surroundings calm and familiar and give people time instead of instructions. Relatives are welcome here and we keep in regular contact with them about health and mood, rather than waiting for a crisis to prompt a phone call. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering residential care in Goole or the surrounding area, please arrange to visit, meet the team and take your time over the decision.

Set within the familiar town of Goole, our home benefits from its location in this well connected market town, offering residents the reassurance of being close to local amenities whilst enjoying the calm atmosphere that our setting provides. Families visiting from across East Yorkshire and the wider Yorkshire and Humberside region will find us accessible, and the surroundings offer a peaceful backdrop for daily life, quiet reflection, and shared moments with loved ones. Our care is thoughtfully tailored to the needs of each individual who chooses to make Goole Hall their home. We specialise in older person care and residential care, providing the everyday support that helps residents live with dignity, comfort, and independence for as long as possible. For those living with dementia, our team offers patient, person centred support that focuses on familiar routines, gentle reassurance, and meaningful engagement, helping residents feel safe and understood at every stage of their journey. We also provide respite care, offering families a trusted place to turn when a loved one needs short term support, whether following a hospital stay, during a family holiday, or simply to give regular carers a well deserved rest. In practice, this means residents are cared for by a team who take the time to learn their stories, preferences, and routines. Families can expect open communication, regular updates, and a genuine partnership in their loved one's care. Whether someone needs a little help with daily living or more comprehensive support with the challenges of dementia, our aim is to make each day as fulfilling and reassuring as possible. At our most recent CQC inspection in June 2022, Goole Hall received an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We are proud that inspectors recognised our home as Good in both the Caring and Responsive domains, reflecting the compassion of our team and the way we tailor support to each resident's individual needs. We take the areas identified for improvement in the Safe, Effective, and Well led domains seriously, and we are fully committed to ongoing development so that every aspect of life at Goole Hall reflects the standard of care our residents and their families deserve. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the questions and emotions that come with it. If you are considering residential, dementia, or respite care in Goole and the surrounding East Riding area, we warmly invite you to get in touch, arrange a visit, and see for yourself the caring community we are building at Goole Hall. We are here to listen, to answer your questions, and to help your family find the reassurance and support you are looking for.

The Old Vicarage at Airmyn is a residential care home near Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire. We provide a settled home for older people who can no longer manage comfortably on their own. Much of our work is with people living with dementia. Our approach rests on patience and familiarity rather than on keeping people busy. The day has a shape without being run to a timetable, surroundings stay recognisable, and we avoid changing things for the sake of it. We spend time early on learning about somebody's life, work, family and habits, and we ask relatives for the small details as well as the medical ones, because those tend to be what helps most when someone is unsettled. Otherwise, life here is decided by the people living it. They choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how the day goes. Care is given discreetly and with respect for privacy, and we support people to carry on doing whatever they still can for themselves. Visitors are welcome at whatever time suits them. Respite stays are available too, for family carers who need a planned break and for people needing a few weeks of support after illness or a hospital stay. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking at homes in the area, please come and see us on an ordinary day.

Elizabeth Homes is a residential care home in Goole. We support older people and younger adults who need help with everyday life, including residents living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for shorter periods. Residents here have different histories, different routines and very different ideas of a good day, so we plan support one person at a time rather than running the house on a single timetable. Help with personal care, meals, medication and appointments is given quietly and with respect for privacy, and whatever a resident can still manage themselves is protected. We should be open about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not content with that. We have reviewed how we assess and record residents' needs, how we train and supervise our staff and how quickly we act when a resident or a relative raises a concern, and we have treated the findings as a working list rather than a verdict. Progress of that kind shows up slowly and in small things, which is why we would encourage anyone considering us to visit, look around properly and ask us direct questions about what has changed and what is still in hand. Families are welcome here and we would far rather hear a concern early than find out later that something was wrong.

Parklands Care Home is a residential care home in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire, providing a settled home for older people who need support with daily living. We also care for younger adults, support residents living with dementia, and offer respite stays for those who need care for a shorter period. We aim for an ordinary life with good support behind it. Residents choose when they get up, how they spend their days and what they eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered, down to how somebody takes their tea. There is company and activity for those who enjoy it and no pressure on anyone who would rather have peace. Dementia support runs through everything we do. We ask families to tell us about a person's life, their work, their music, their habits and their dislikes, because that knowledge is what lets staff offer comfort that genuinely comforts. Familiar faces, calm surroundings and an unhurried pace do far more good than any rigid approach. We work closely with local GPs and community nurses so that changes in health are picked up early, and we keep families properly informed rather than ringing only when something has gone wrong. - Care Home
We are a residential care home near Goole, providing a home for older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Our aim is an unhurried house. A good deal of care is spoiled simply by being rushed, so we try to give people the time to wash, dress and eat at their own pace, and to sit with somebody who wants to talk rather than moving straight on to the next task. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Where somebody needs help with moving about, we give it without doing more of the task than is needed. Dementia care comes down to knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is anxious or cannot place where they are. Meals are cooked here and we pay attention when somebody would rather have something different. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come. Please come and see the home for yourself.

Meadow Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in Goole. We are home to older people who need support with daily life, including many living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people recovering from illness or giving a family carer a break. We are small enough for everybody here to be known properly, and that is the basis of everything else we do. Our team notices when somebody eats less than usual, sleeps badly, seems low or becomes unsteady on their feet, and it gets acted on the same day rather than at a review in a month. Residents decide how their own days go. When to get up and go to bed, what to eat, whether to sit with others in the lounge or keep to their own room. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and nobody comes in without knocking. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour. For residents living with dementia, consistency helps most, so we keep staffing settled, learn each person's history properly and use it to make sense of what they are telling us. When somebody is distressed we look for the reason rather than trying to close it down. Health needs are managed alongside local GPs and community nurses. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please come and look round.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Goole
Start with what inspectors found
Across the 13 residential homes listed for Goole, nine are rated Good, two have been told they require improvement and one has not yet received a first rating. Where a home has been marked down, open the report rather than dismissing it, and find out which of the five key questions caused the grade, how recent the visit was and whether the concern was about paperwork or about people. Reports on homes rated Good are often more useful than the grade itself, because inspectors describe what they saw staff doing when someone became distressed. For the home without a rating, ask directly when an inspection is expected and what assurance the provider can offer in the meantime.
What distinguishes good dementia care
Ask how many staff on each shift have completed dementia specific training and who delivers it, since a one off online module is not the same as ongoing supervision. Ask what the home does when a resident becomes agitated in the late afternoon, and listen for whether the answer is about finding the cause or about containing the behaviour. Find out how life history is collected and where it is written down, because knowing that someone farmed for forty years changes how staff interpret their need to be outdoors at dawn. Look at the building itself, at whether sight lines are clear, whether signage means anything, whether there is somewhere safe to walk and whether daylight reaches the rooms residents actually use.
Continuity and the longer view
Familiar faces matter more in dementia care than almost anywhere else, so ask how long the manager has been in post, how much agency cover is used in a typical month and whether residents have named key workers. Ask how the home supports people in the later stages, and whether a move elsewhere would become necessary if nursing needs develop. Ask too how families are kept informed between visits.
Choosing between dementia care homes in Goole
The care needs assessment
Before fees are discussed there should be a written account of what the person needs, and that is what a care needs assessment produces. It is free, has no means test and can be requested by the person themselves or by a relative acting on their behalf. Assessment and funded support here are the responsibility of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, whose assessor will consider memory, risk, mobility, medication, continence and the load currently carried by family carers. Describe the worst nights rather than the manageable ones, because assessments written from good days consistently understate what is needed.
Fees and what sits outside them
Dementia placements are priced by the week and differ between homes in Goole, so rely only on a figure a home has given you in writing. Ask what the rate covers and what is invoiced separately, since hairdressing, chiropody, outings and certain continence products commonly fall outside it. Where the council contributes after a financial assessment, the rate it pays may be lower than a home's private fee, and the difference must be met by a third party top up rather than by the resident. People funding themselves should still inform the council, because capital reduces and eligibility can be reassessed.
Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Goole
How many dementia care homes are there in Goole?
Goole has 13 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 26 CQC registered care homes in Goole: 10 Good, 2 Requires improvement, 1 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.
Which dementia care homes in Goole were inspected most recently?
Claremont (12 February 2026), Parklands Care Home (5 February 2026) and Windsor Court (9 September 2025) have the most recent CQC reports.
Which homes in Goole provide dementia care?
13 residential care homes match this search, including Prospect House Residential Home, Parklands Care Home, Snaith Hall Care Home, Meadow Lodge Care Home, Beech Tree House, The Old Vicarage at Airmyn, Westfield Park Care Home and Sandhall Park. Availability changes from week to week, so a home listed here may have no vacancy when you ring. Open each profile for the registration details and the most recent Care Quality Commission report. Then speak to the home directly about whether it can meet the needs you are describing.
What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?
A care home provides personal care, which covers help with washing, dressing, eating, medication and daily routine, given by trained care staff. A nursing home also has qualified nurses on duty and can manage clinical needs such as complex wounds, feeding tubes, unstable health conditions and much end of life care. Every provider matching this search in Goole is registered as a residential care home rather than a nursing home. Where a hospital or community nursing team has said nursing care is required, look at nursing provision or ask whether district nurses can visit the home.
What should we ask when visiting a dementia care home in Goole?
Ask how many staff on each shift hold dementia specific training and who provides it. Ask what happens when a resident becomes distressed late in the day, and judge whether the answer is about understanding or about control. Find out how the home records life history and how that reaches the staff working each shift. It is also worth asking about staff turnover and agency use, because recognition depends on seeing the same faces.
How do we arrange a care needs assessment in Goole?
Contact the adult social care team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council and ask for a care needs assessment, which anyone may request for themselves or a relative. It is free and does not depend on income, savings or any previous contact. An assessor will discuss memory, safety, mobility, medication and the help a family already gives, then record the eligible needs in writing. Ask for a carer's assessment in the same conversation if a relative is providing regular unpaid support.
Can East Riding of Yorkshire Council fund a dementia placement?
It may, where the person meets the national eligibility criteria and the financial assessment shows they qualify for help. The council looks at care needs first and then examines capital and income separately to decide its contribution. Someone with substantial health needs may also qualify for continuing healthcare funding through the National Health Service, which is assessed by a different process and worth asking about. Those paying for their own care can still approach the council for advice and information.
How early should we begin looking for a dementia care home?
Earlier than most families feel ready for, because well regarded homes often hold waiting lists and decisions made in a crisis are rarely the best ones. Starting while the person can still express a view also means their preferences count for something. If a crisis has already arrived, say so clearly when you telephone and ask how soon the home could assess. Keeping two or three acceptable homes in play gives you options when a room becomes free at short notice.
