    • Care Home

Langdales is a residential care home in Blackpool. We are home to older people who need support with everyday life, including residents living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period or whose family carer needs a break. We think of this as somewhere people live, not somewhere care is delivered to them, and we try to make that difference obvious in how the house runs. Residents tell us when they like to get up, what they want to eat, how much help they want and where they prefer to spend the day. Support with personal care, meals, medication and appointments is given quietly and with proper regard for privacy, and whatever a resident can still manage for themselves is protected rather than taken over. Dementia care shapes much of our work. Knowing a person's history, the people and places that matter to them and the rhythms that suit them is what allows us to reassure someone who is anxious instead of arguing with them. We keep the day familiar and explain changes in advance wherever we can. Company matters too, and we pay attention to residents who would otherwise spend the day alone in their room. Families are welcome whenever they want to come and we would far rather hear a worry while it is small. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

    • Care Home

Parade Rest Home is a residential care home in Blackpool, offering older people and younger adults a comfortable place to live with support always close at hand. We try to keep the feel of a household rather than an institution, with days led by the people living them. We support residents living with dementia, people living with a physical disability, and people who have sight or hearing loss. In each case the approach begins with knowing the person properly: their history, their habits, what settles them and what does not. Routines are kept familiar, changes explained in advance, and where somebody has a physical or sensory impairment our aim is to remove the obstacle rather than narrow what they do. Our team helps with personal care, medication, mobility and meals, and equally with conversation, company, music and fresh air for those who want them. Rooms are personalised and relatives are welcome whenever they can come. Respite stays are available for people needing care for a short period. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Good. If you are looking at care homes in Blackpool, please come and see us at an ordinary time of day and ask us whatever you like.

Here at The Sylvester Care Centre in Blackpool, we provide a warm and welcoming home for the people who live with us. We genuinely care about the individuals in our community, and we work hard every day to make sure that each person feels valued, comfortable and supported. We specialise in a wide range of care needs, including older person care, residential care, dementia care, mental health support, care for physical disabilities, support for younger adults, and respite care. This means we are well placed to support people at different stages of life and with varying levels of need. Whether someone is joining us on a short term respite basis or making The Sylvester their long term home, we do our best to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible. We are proud that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good. We see that as an honest reflection of the thoughtful, attentive care our team provides each day, though we never stand still and are always looking at how we can do better for the people who live here. Blackpool is a place with real community spirit, and we try to bring that spirit into everything we do. We encourage residents to stay connected with the things that matter to them, whether that is keeping in touch with family and friends, enjoying familiar routines, or trying something new. Life here is shaped around the people who live here, not the other way around. If you are considering care for yourself or for someone you love, we would be very happy to have a conversation with you. We welcome visits and believe the best way to get a feel for who we are is simply to come and meet us.

Jah Jireh Charity Homes Blackpool provides residential care for older people in Blackpool, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and residents who have sight or hearing loss. We also take planned respite stays. We try to run this as a home rather than an institution. Residents get up when they choose, spend their days as they wish, keep their own belongings around them and see visitors whenever it suits. Our staff help with personal care, medicines, meals and the practical business of the place, and they do it in a way that leaves people as much say as possible over their own lives. The small things are what people notice and remember. A familiar face on shift, tea made the way you like it, being asked rather than told, and somebody spotting that you are quieter today than you were yesterday. For residents living with dementia, and for anybody with sight or hearing loss, that sort of familiarity matters more than any programme of organised activity. Respite stays are genuinely useful. A planned stay gives a family carer proper rest, and it lets somebody find out what we are like without committing to anything longer. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives regularly how we are doing, and the critical answers are the ones that actually teach us something.

    • Care Home

Acorn Lodge Residential Care Home is a residential care home in Blackpool. We support older people and younger adults, including residents living with dementia and adults with a mental health condition, and we offer respite care for planned short stays. Moving into a care home is a considerable thing to ask of anyone, so we try to make the practical side of it calm and unhurried. Before someone arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because the details are what make the difference: how they take their tea, whether they are early risers, what work they did, what they would rather never be woken for. Those things shape the way we support them from day one. Once someone has settled, the day belongs to them. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people actually enjoy rather than what is easiest to serve. Dementia care runs through the whole home. We keep the surroundings familiar, we do not rush anyone, and we spend time understanding what settles a particular resident rather than applying one approach to everybody. Respite stays are arranged with the same thought as a permanent move, whether a family carer needs a break or a household wants to try residential living first. Visitors are welcome and we would rather families felt at home here than treated as callers. Please contact us if you would like to look round.

Bronswick House is a care home in Blackpool. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting that range of people under one roof works only if nobody is treated as a category. Somebody in the later stages of dementia and somebody who has managed a mental health condition for thirty years need almost opposite things from us. So we sit down with each person, work out what their week should actually contain, and arrange staffing around that rather than the reverse. Residents decide how their own day runs, keep their own things around them and see visitors when it suits them. Where somebody has lived with a mental health condition for years, we start from what they tell us works. They generally know more about it than we do. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit if you are considering care in Blackpool, and talk to the people living here as well as to us.

    • Care Home

Pennystone Court is a residential care home in Blackpool. We care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we welcome respite guests as well as people moving in permanently. We want this to feel like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. Rooms are personal, people get up and go to bed when it suits them, nobody is made to join in with anything, and visitors call in without booking. If somebody has always taken their time over breakfast with the paper, that can carry on here. Our staff help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and moving about, and they do it in a way that keeps somebody's dignity intact. For those living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried, we keep staff teams consistent where we can, and we ask relatives to tell us about a person's history. Knowing what somebody did for a living, what they have always enjoyed and who matters to them is usually what allows us to reassure rather than correct. Respite stays are genuinely welcome. Caring for a relative at home is demanding, and a planned break is often what makes carrying on possible. Short stay guests get the same attention as anyone living here. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round, meet the team and talk to families of people who already live here.

Belgravia Care Home is a residential care home in Blackpool. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition and people with physical disabilities. The emphasis here is on daily life rather than clinical routine. Meals, company, familiar habits, visitors coming and going, time outside, and something in the day worth getting up for. Practical help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility runs alongside all of that rather than replacing it. We plan from somebody's life so far. What the work was, who the people are, what a normal week used to look like, what they have never been able to stand. Care built from that fits the person, and it makes a real difference to how settled somebody becomes in the early weeks. For people living with dementia, and for anyone whose mental health fluctuates, we plan around familiarity and adjust to how somebody actually is rather than to how a plan says they should be. Where somebody is distressed we look for a cause we can put right before treating the distress itself as the problem. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves. We accept the findings, we are working through an improvement plan, and we will answer questions about progress honestly, including about what is not yet finished. Please come and look round on an ordinary day and ask us the hard questions.

Chaseley Care Home in Blackpool provides residential care for older people, including residents living with dementia, residents with a physical disability and residents with a visual or hearing impairment. We aim to be a comfortable, steady sort of place where staff and residents know one another properly. People get up when they are ready, eat food cooked here that is worth looking forward to, and spend their time in company or quietly as they prefer. Support with washing and dressing is given calmly, because dignity is largely a matter of pace and manner. Where someone has a sensory impairment we pay attention to the small things that matter, such as saying who we are as we come into the room, explaining what is about to happen, and keeping belongings where they were left. We want to be honest about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set it out plainly and answer your questions than leave you to find it elsewhere, and that work has our full attention. We also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Relatives are welcome here throughout the day, and we would much rather be told about a concern straight away.

    • Care Home

Rosehaven Residential Care Home is in Blackpool, and we support a wider range of adults than most homes of our size. That is deliberate. People do not arrive with a single label, and we would rather build support around an individual than turn somebody away because their needs sit across two categories. We provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and people living with mental ill health. We also support people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we work with adults recovering from eating disorders and with people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use. Some of those we support are younger adults. Alongside permanent places we offer respite stays. Supporting that mix well means being clear about what each person needs from us, so every plan is written with the individual, reviewed regularly, and shared with the professionals involved in their care. Where risk is part of the picture we talk about it openly and look for ways to support somebody safely rather than simply saying no. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Anyone thinking about a placement is welcome to visit, meet the staff on duty and ask us difficult questions.

Here at Links Lodge, we are proud to be a care home in the heart of Blackpool that genuinely feels like home for the people who live with us. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Outstanding, and while that recognition means a great deal to us, what matters most is the experience of each individual in our care every single day. We support a wide range of needs under one roof, including older person care, residential care, dementia care, learning disabilities and autism, physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, and younger adults. We also offer respite care for those who need a short break or a little extra support during a difficult period. Because our residents come to us with such different backgrounds and needs, we work hard to make sure our approach is always personal and never one size fits all. Dementia care sits close to the heart of what we do. We understand how disorientating and unsettling this journey can be, both for the person living with dementia and for their loved ones, and we work to create an environment that feels calm, familiar and reassuring. The same thoughtfulness runs through every area of our care, whether someone is with us long term or just for a short stay. We are located in Blackpool, which means our residents have a lively, well connected community right on their doorstep, and we make the most of that whenever we can. Families are always welcome here, and we see them as genuine partners in the care we provide. If you would like to find out more about whether Links Lodge could be the right fit for you or someone you love, please do get in touch. We are always happy to have a conversation.

The Phoenix Centre is a residential care home in Blackpool supporting adults with a wide range of needs, including older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people managing a mental health condition or an eating disorder, people with a physical disability, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drug misuse. We also offer respite stays. Supporting that range of people in one home means we cannot work from a single template, and we do not try to. Support is planned individually, in detail, and with the person rather than about them. What does a good day look like? What makes a bad one? What would you like to do yourself, and where would help actually be welcome? We take the view that distress usually has a reason behind it, and that looking for the reason is more useful than managing the symptom. We give warning before things change, keep the environment as predictable as we can, and communicate in the way that suits each person. Respite stays can give families a planned break and let somebody get to know us gradually. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. • Care Home

King Edward Care Home is in Blackpool, providing residential care in a setting small enough that staff know everybody who lives here properly. We have particular experience in supporting people living with dementia. Our approach rests on patience and familiarity rather than activity for its own sake. The day has a shape but not a timetable, surroundings stay recognisable, and we avoid unnecessary change. We spend time at the beginning learning about somebody's life, work, family and preferences, and we ask relatives for the small details as well as the medical ones, because those are usually the things that help most on a difficult afternoon. People here choose how their days go. Getting up time, meals, company or quiet, visitors, going out: those are decisions for the person, and our job is to make them possible rather than to make them. Care is given discreetly, with proper attention to privacy and dignity, and we support people to carry on doing whatever they can still do for themselves. We also offer respite stays. These suit families who provide care at home and need a planned break, and people who need a period of support after a hospital stay before going home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering a home in Blackpool, please visit us. Look around, talk to the staff and see the place as it is on an ordinary day.

Westfield Rest Home is a residential care home in Blackpool. We look after older people who need help through the day, including many living with dementia, people who have managed a mental health condition for years, and some younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. We will deal with the rating first, because you will find it anyway and burying it would be insulting. The Care Quality Commission last rated us requires improvement overall. We are not going to dispute it or dress it up. An inspection records what was there on the day, and the work of putting it right is ours and nobody else's. There is an action plan, the people who commission care from us know exactly where we have reached with it, and we would much rather take a family through the detail in person than hand over a sentence written to reassure. The daily work of the home carries on. Washing and dressing, medicines on time, meals that are hot and worth eating, and help to move about safely. For residents with dementia we keep routines steady and the surroundings familiar. Come and look, ask the hard questions, and speak to families who are already here.

Carlin Lodge is a residential care home in Blackpool. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays. We are a residential home rather than a nursing home, so our strength is in the daily business of living well. Help with washing and dressing, getting about safely, medication, meals that people look forward to, and the company that so often disappears when someone has been struggling alone at home. Where nursing input is needed we work alongside the district nursing team and local GPs. For residents with a physical disability we focus on what can still be done rather than listing what cannot, and we make sure equipment, layout and the amount of help offered are right. With dementia, we keep the day steady and the surroundings familiar, and we ask families to tell us about the person's earlier life. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather be upfront about that than leave you to find it elsewhere. We know which areas were raised, there is work under way, and we are happy to go through any of it. Please come and visit, ask us directly what has changed, and judge the home on what you see.

    • Care Home

We are a residential care home in Blackpool, providing a home for older people and younger adults who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. Our aim is an unhurried house. A good deal of care is spoiled simply by being rushed, so we try to give people the time to wash, dress and eat at their own pace, and to sit with somebody who wants to talk rather than moving straight on to the next task. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Dementia care comes down to knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is anxious or cannot place where they are. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it later. We are working through the points the inspectors raised, and if you are considering the home for someone close to you we will go through the report with you and answer whatever you want to ask. Please come and see the place as it really is. Talking to the people who live here will tell you more than we can.

    • Care Home

Highgrove Rest Home is in Blackpool, providing residential care for older people, including those living with dementia, for adults with mental health needs and for some younger adults whose needs suit a home of this kind. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and whatever else has become difficult, and we leave people in charge of the rest. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and take time to work out what lies behind a change in mood. For residents with mental health needs, stability, a calm household and staff who know a person well enough to notice a change do most of the good, and we work with local services and doctors. Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want to eat. Getting out for some air is part of the ordinary week rather than a special event, and visitors are welcome at any reasonable time. Respite stays are available, whether to give a family carer a break or to support somebody through a short period of difficulty. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.

    • Care Home

PNP Care Home is a residential care home in Blackpool. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays. We want this to feel like a house people live in rather than somewhere they have been sent. Visitors come at the times that suit them. There is usually something going on that nobody is obliged to join. Staff sit down and talk properly rather than passing through on the way to the next task. People here decide when they get up, what they wear, what they eat and whether they want company or their own space. Dementia care rests on patience and a recognisable day. We avoid springing things on people, we keep routines familiar, and when somebody is distressed we look for the cause rather than trying to smooth it over. Relatives very often know exactly what helps, and we would rather be told at the start than work it out across six months. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, the difference is made by habits. Saying who you are as you come into the room. Leaving furniture where it belongs. Making sure glasses and hearing aids are clean and actually working. The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection, and we keep asking residents and relatives where we still fall short.

    • Care Home

We are a residential care home in Blackpool, providing a home for older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. We try to run the place so that it belongs to the people who live in it. Residents have their own rooms with their own belongings, get up and go to bed when they choose and decide how they want to spend their days. Meals are cooked here and we listen when somebody says they would rather have something else. Much of what makes a care home worth living in is small and unglamorous: being helped to wash without being rushed, a hot drink at the time you actually want it, somebody noticing when you have gone quiet. Dementia care, as we have come to understand it, is mostly a matter of knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is frightened or cannot place where they are. Being near the sea has its uses, and a walk or a change of view is part of ordinary life here when the weather allows. Family and friends are welcome whenever they would like to come. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Do come and look round and ask us anything.

Ashbourne Lodge Rest Home is in Blackpool, caring for older people, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We try to run a house rather than an institution, and the difference lies mostly in small decisions. People get up when they are ready. Meals are unhurried and worth turning up for. Somebody who wants their own company can have it without being coaxed into the lounge. Help with washing and dressing is given in a way that protects dignity, which usually comes down to asking first, explaining what we are doing, and never taking over a task a person can still manage themselves. Dementia care is a significant part of our work, and the most useful knowledge almost always comes from families. What someone did for a living, who they are thinking of when the late afternoon becomes unsettled, what music helps. We ask for that, record it and pass it between shifts. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and visitors are welcome.

Waterside is a residential care home in Blackpool supporting older people, including many living with dementia, and adults living with mental health needs. We support some younger residents and we welcome respite guests. We plan around individuals, which is what makes a home with this mix work. Everyone has their own room and their own things and a real say in how their day goes. Mornings are flexible, meals are proper meals, and nobody is moved along to suit a timetable. Our dementia care rests on familiarity and patience. We keep routines steady, the building calm and the staffing consistent, and we follow the person rather than correcting them. When somebody is distressed we treat it as a message with a cause behind it and go looking for that cause. Families usually know what has always helped, and we ask. For residents living with mental health needs our work is about stability rather than supervision. We watch for early signs that someone is becoming less well, we act on them, and we work alongside community mental health teams rather than separately from them. Respite guests receive exactly what permanent residents receive. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you would like to look round, please get in touch and come and see us on an ordinary day.

We at Lavender Lodge Care Home are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care setting in the heart of Blackpool, where compassionate support meets a true sense of home. Our dedicated team specialises in older person care, dementia care, and a range of tailored support designed to help every resident feel valued, safe, and understood. Nestled within the familiar surroundings of Blackpool in the FY postcode area, our home benefits from the friendly community spirit of the Lancashire coast. Residents enjoy comfortable, homely living spaces designed to feel reassuring and easy to navigate, whilst our communal areas offer plenty of opportunity for socialising, quiet reflection, or simply sharing a cup of tea with friends and family. The wider North West location means loved ones can visit with ease, making it simple to stay connected throughout the journey of care. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of those we welcome through our doors. For older residents, we provide attentive day to day support that promotes dignity and independence in equal measure. Our dementia care approach focuses on familiarity, gentle routine, and meaningful engagement, helping residents feel calm and confident in their environment. We also offer thoughtful support for individuals living with mental health needs, physical disabilities, or visual and hearing impairments, ensuring that personal preferences and abilities are always at the centre of the care we provide. For families needing a short term solution, our respite care offers a trusted place where loved ones can stay whilst regular carers take a well earned break, with the same warmth and attention extended to every guest. In practice, this means residents receive support that is shaped around them as individuals, not around a one size fits all routine. Families can take comfort in knowing that their relatives are cared for by a team who take the time to listen, learn personal histories, and build genuine relationships. Whether a resident enjoys a favourite armchair by the window, a particular meal, or company during quieter moments, we believe these small details make the biggest difference. We are pleased to share that Lavender Lodge Care Home has been awarded an overall rating of Good by the Care Quality Commission, following its most recent inspection in January 2022. We achieved a Good rating across all five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this independent assessment offers reassurance that the care delivered here meets the standards expected of a trusted residential home, and that our approach to safety, leadership, and compassion has been recognised by the sector regulator. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the questions, hopes, and worries that come with it. If you are exploring residential, dementia, or respite care in Blackpool for someone you love, we warmly invite you to get in touch with Lavender Lodge Care Home. We would be delighted to talk through your needs, answer your questions, and help you take the next step with confidence and peace of mind.

We at Glen Tanar Rest Home offer warm, residential care in the heart of Blackpool, providing a genuine home from home for older people and adults who need a little extra support with daily life. Our setting in the FY postcode area places us within easy reach of the town's familiar seaside surroundings, making visits from loved ones straightforward and welcome. Our home has been thoughtfully arranged to feel comfortable and lived in rather than clinical. Communal lounges offer space for conversation, quiet reading, or shared activities, whilst private bedrooms give each resident somewhere personal to retreat to at the end of the day. Being based in Blackpool means our residents remain part of the wider community they know, with the coastal air and local character just beyond the door. The care we provide is shaped around each individual. For older residents, we focus on maintaining independence for as long as possible, offering gentle support with the everyday tasks that can become more challenging over time. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and understanding, recognising that familiar routines, reassurance, and a calm environment make an enormous difference to wellbeing. We also welcome younger adults and those living with physical disabilities, tailoring our approach so that every resident feels respected and understood rather than simply looked after. For families who need short term support, our respite care offers a valuable option. Whether you are a family carer needing a break, or someone recovering from illness or a hospital stay, a stay with us provides professional care in a homely setting without the commitment of a permanent move. Many families find this an important stepping stone, and we treat every respite guest with the same attention we give our long term residents. What this means in practice is that daily life at Glen Tanar Rest Home is built around people, not schedules. Mealtimes are sociable, activities are gently encouraged rather than imposed, and staff take the time to learn what matters to each person, from a favourite cup of tea to the small routines that make somewhere feel like home. For families, it means peace of mind knowing that the person you love is somewhere they are known by name and cared for as an individual. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our CQC rating of Good across every domain assessed, including how safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well led we are. This overall Good rating is an independent recognition that the care we provide meets the standards families rightly expect, and it reflects the day to day dedication of the team who make our home what it is. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight that comes with it. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Blackpool or the wider FY area, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and arrange a visit. Seeing the home in person, meeting the team, and getting a feel for the atmosphere is often the best way to know whether Glen Tanar Rest Home is the right fit for your family.

Napier Lodge is a care home in Blackpool. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Where sight or hearing has failed, a care home can very easily become a confusing and lonely place. So we make a point of the small habits that prevent that: saying who has come into the room, describing what is about to happen rather than assuming it is obvious, keeping belongings exactly where the person expects them, and making sure conversation does not stop simply because it has become harder work. The same practical attitude runs through the rest of what we do. People here decide when to get up, how to spend the day and how much company they want. Rooms belong to the people in them, and visitors come when it suits them. Being by the sea means getting out for fresh air is easy, and we make use of that. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round if you are considering care in Blackpool.

We at Honeysuckle House are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in the heart of Blackpool, providing dedicated dementia care, respite stays, and long term support for older people and younger adults alike. Our home has grown into a trusted part of the local community, offering families across the Fylde coast a place where their loved ones can feel truly at home. Nestled within the FY postcode area of Blackpool, our home benefits from the familiar comforts of coastal town living, whilst offering a peaceful, homely environment for those who live with us. The setting has been thoughtfully designed to feel less like an institution and more like a genuine home, where residents can enjoy quiet moments of reflection as well as sociable time spent in shared company. Blackpool itself offers a wonderfully accessible location for visiting family and friends, meaning loved ones can pop in easily and remain a central part of daily life. Our care specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the people we welcome. For those living with dementia, we provide compassionate, person centred support that focuses on preserving dignity, encouraging familiar routines, and creating a calm environment where residents feel safe and understood. For older people who need day to day residential support, we offer a gentle balance of independence and reassurance, so that each resident can continue to enjoy the things that matter to them whilst knowing help is always close at hand. We also support younger adults whose needs are best met within a nurturing residential setting, tailoring our approach to reflect their individual preferences, interests, and aspirations. Respite care forms an important part of what we offer too. We understand that family carers sometimes need a period of rest, or that a short stay can help someone recover confidence after a hospital admission. Our respite guests are welcomed with the same warmth as our long term residents, ensuring that even a brief stay feels comfortable, enriching, and genuinely restorative. Families often tell us that knowing their loved one is in safe, capable hands gives them the peace of mind they need to recharge. In practical terms, our specialisms mean that residents receive care shaped around who they are as individuals. We take time to learn each person's story, their preferences, and the small details that make life meaningful, from favourite meals and morning routines to hobbies and cherished memories. Families are always considered partners in care, and we keep communication open, honest, and reassuring throughout every stage of the journey. Honeysuckle House has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. This consistent Good rating reflects the standards we strive to uphold every day. It means that the people who live with us can trust in the safety of their environment, the effectiveness of the support they receive, the kindness of the team around them, the responsiveness of care to their changing needs, and the strength of leadership guiding our home. For families, a Good rating across the board offers reassurance that independent inspectors have recognised the quality and consistency of what we provide. Choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we understand that it often comes with mixed emotions. We want you to know that at Honeysuckle House, your loved one will be treated with the compassion, respect, and warmth they deserve. Whether you are exploring options for permanent residential care, seeking specialist dementia support, or considering a short respite break, we would be delighted to hear from you. Harmony House is a residential care home in Blackpool providing care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia. Moving into a care home is rarely anybody's first choice, so we work hard to make it feel like a home rather than a decision that has been made about somebody. People bring their own belongings, keep their own routines as far as possible and have a say in how their day runs. Staff help with washing and dressing, with moving about safely, with medication and with meals and drinks, and they are trained to do it in a way that keeps a person's privacy and dignity intact. Where somebody is living with dementia we keep things steady and familiar, and we take the time to learn what a person is trying to communicate rather than treating distress as behaviour to be corrected. Families usually know this better than anybody, so we ask them and we listen. There is company and activity for those who want it, quiet for those who do not, and meals cooked here with a real choice. We also take people for respite stays, which helps families needing a break and gives people a chance to try the home first. If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time.

Haddon Court is a residential care home in Blackpool. We support people who need help with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite stays for families needing a short break or a little time to make longer term plans. We keep the home small in feel. People rise when they wake rather than when a rota says so, keep their own furniture and photographs about them, and carry on with the routines that have always been theirs. Families are welcome to come and go, and we would much rather people dropped in casually than booked a slot. Dementia care rewards patience and a good memory for detail. Our staff learn which chair somebody favours, which time of day is hardest, what settles a person when they are unsettled, and which stories they never tire of telling. None of that shows up in a policy, but it is what makes the difference between a home that works and one that merely functions. Blackpool is where most of our residents have spent their lives, and we keep those threads going wherever we can, whether that is a trip out, a familiar newspaper or a visitor who has been calling round for forty years. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are considering residential or respite care in Blackpool, please arrange to visit. Anyone considering us should ask precisely what was found and precisely what has changed since, and should not settle for a general answer. What we are working towards is straightforward. A home where residents decide how their own day runs, where rooms belong to the people in them, where visitors come when it suits them, and where staff know the people they support properly. For those living with dementia, familiarity carries most of the weight: the same faces, a recognisable rhythm and a team who take the trouble to learn a person's history. Please visit before deciding anything, read the inspection report in full and judge the home on what you find.

    • Care Home

We are a residential care home in Blackpool, providing a home for older people who need support to get comfortably through the day. We try to keep the feel of a household, with people bringing their own furniture and belongings and carrying on with the things they enjoy. We help with personal care, mobility, meals and medication, and we care for people living with dementia, where familiar staff and unhurried time do more good than anything more elaborate. We also support people with a physical disability, thinking carefully about how rooms are arranged so that independence is not quietly worn away by small obstacles. Respite stays are available too, whether to give a family carer a real break or to let someone try the home before any longer decision. On inspection we would rather be direct with you. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. That is not where we want to be and we are not going to present it as anything else. There are specific things that were found wanting, work is under way on them, and the fair test is whether you can see and feel the difference when you come. So please do come. Look round, talk to residents and staff, and ask us plainly what has changed since the inspection.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Blackpool

Where the Process Starts

Most families come to this decision gradually, after months of managing at home with increasing difficulty, and the formal starting point is a care needs assessment. It records what a person requires across an ordinary day, from prompting and supervision to help with washing, dressing, eating and moving about safely. Anyone who appears to need support can ask for one, free of charge and regardless of savings. Blackpool Council is responsible for carrying out that assessment and for arranging the financial assessment that determines any funded support. A relative providing care at home can request an assessment of their own needs at the same time.

What Dementia Care Costs

Fees are normally quoted as a weekly figure covering the room, meals and personal care, and the level often reflects how much supervision someone needs rather than the size of the room. Where eligible needs are identified and capital falls below the relevant threshold, the council may contribute towards the placement, with the person paying an assessed amount from income. Where needs arise mainly from health rather than social care, continuing healthcare funding is assessed separately by the health service. Anyone paying privately should ask what sits outside the weekly fee and how much notice is given before it rises.

Allowing Enough Time

Assessments, financial checks and waiting lists all take longer than families expect, and decisions made in a hurry after a hospital admission are rarely the best ones. Starting the paperwork early costs nothing and keeps the choice open.

Choosing between dementia care homes in Blackpool

Reading the Inspection Record

Thirty homes are listed here, with one rated Outstanding, twenty one rated Good and eight rated Requires Improvement. The rating is a summary, not the whole account. Underneath it, each report gives separate findings on safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership, and for dementia the caring and responsiveness sections usually carry the most telling detail. Note the date of the inspection as well, because a home may have changed hands or changed manager since an older visit.

What Good Dementia Support Looks Like

The signs are practical ones. Look for layout and signage that let someone find their room or the bathroom unaided, outdoor space that can be used without asking permission, and lounges calm enough to hold a conversation. Ask what dementia training staff receive, how much agency cover is used and whether the same people work the same shifts, because familiarity matters enormously when memory is unreliable. Ask how the home responds to distress or restlessness late in the day, and what it tries before considering medication.

Questions About the Person, Not Just the Condition

A good home will want to know who your relative was before the diagnosis, what work they did and what they still enjoy, and will be able to show how that shapes a care plan. Ask how changes in condition are communicated to family, whether visiting is genuinely open, and what would happen if needs progressed beyond the home's registration. Visiting twice, at different times of day, will tell you more than any brochure can.

Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Blackpool

How many dementia care homes are there in Blackpool?

Blackpool has 30 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 53 CQC registered care homes in Blackpool: 1 Outstanding, 20 Good, 9 Requires improvement. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

Which dementia care homes in Blackpool were inspected most recently?

Acorn Lodge Residential Care Home (17 June 2026), Westfield Rest Home (9 April 2026) and Belgravia Care Home (6 December 2025) have the most recent CQC reports.

Can Blackpool Council help pay for a dementia care home place?

It can, where a care needs assessment identifies eligible needs and a financial assessment shows capital below the relevant threshold. The council then contributes towards the weekly fee, with the person paying an assessed contribution from their income. Where needs are primarily clinical, continuing healthcare funding may be assessed by the health service instead. Both routes take time, so the request is best made well before a move becomes pressing.

How is a care needs assessment arranged in Blackpool?

Contact Blackpool Council, which is responsible for adult social care assessments in this area, and ask for one. The assessment is free and open to anyone who appears to need support, whatever their financial position. A practitioner considers daily living, safety, memory, mobility and the help already being given by relatives. The written outcome is worth keeping, since any home you approach will ask for much the same information.

How early should families start looking at dementia care?

Several months ahead is ideal, because it allows time to visit properly and to compare homes without pressure. Waiting lists at well regarded homes can run to weeks or longer, particularly for rooms suited to higher levels of need. If council funding may be involved, add further time for the assessments that come first. Even reading through the profiles below early makes the eventual decision considerably less fraught.

Which providers offer dementia care in Blackpool?

Thirty providers appear on this page, all registered with the Care Quality Commission as residential care homes providing dementia support. One holds an Outstanding rating, twenty one are rated Good and eight are rated Requires Improvement. Vacancies change from week to week, so it is sensible to contact more than one home at a time. Each profile below sets out registration details and links to the published inspection report.

What should be asked when visiting a dementia care home in Blackpool?

Ask about dementia training, staffing levels overnight and how often agency workers are used. Find out how the day is structured, what happens when someone becomes distressed or wants to walk about, and what the home's approach to medication is. Ask to see a sample care plan and to hear how staff learn about a resident's life before the diagnosis. It is also reasonable to ask what would happen if needs increased and whether the home could continue to meet them.

What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?

A residential care home provides accommodation, meals and personal care such as help with washing, dressing and medication, delivered by care staff. A nursing home is registered to provide all of that alongside qualified nurses on the premises at every hour. Every provider listed on this page holds a residential registration rather than a nursing one. Where dementia is accompanied by a clinical need such as complex wound care or unstable physical health, a nursing home is usually the appropriate setting.
