About Us
The Salisbury Residential Home is in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We provide a permanent home to older people, and we also offer respite stays for those who need care for a short spell or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication and meals, and reassurance that somebody is nearby at night. Many are living with dementia. We do not treat that as a separate department: it shapes how the whole house works, from the pace of the afternoon to how we respond when somebody is anxious and wants to go home. We also support people living with sight or hearing loss, and there the small things matter most, such as announcing ourselves clearly, describing what we are doing and making sure information reaches somebody in a form they can use. Food is cooked on the premises and people are asked what they would like rather than told what there is. There is a sociable lounge and there is somewhere quiet, and nobody has to join in with anything. Families visit whenever they can and are welcome at mealtimes. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to come and see us and talk to whoever is on shift.
