About Us

The Coach House is a residential care home in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Younger adults whose needs are best met in a residential setting are welcome too, and we take respite stays.

Our work is the ordinary business of a day done with attention. Helping somebody get up and dressed the way they prefer. Serving food that is worth sitting down to. Making sure there is company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not. Noticing quickly when a person is not themselves and doing something about it.

For people living with dementia, consistency carries most of the weight. Familiar faces, a predictable shape to the day and staff who follow a person's own pace. Where somebody lives with a mental health condition we work alongside community teams and families so that a hard period is met with patience and everybody holds the same picture.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set that out here than let a family come across it later. We know what was identified, work is under way on it, and we will go through the detail with anybody who asks. Please come and see the home for yourself.
