About Us
Here at Westholme Clinic, we provide nursing home care in the heart of Worthing, West Sussex, supporting people who need a safe, attentive and genuinely caring environment to call home.
Our team works across several areas of specialist care, including older person care, nursing care, dementia care and support for younger adults. We recognise that each person who comes to live with us has their own history, preferences and needs, and we do our best to make sure that individuality is respected every single day. Whether someone is living with dementia, managing a complex nursing need or simply needs a level of support that can no longer be provided at home, we aim to offer the kind of care that feels personal rather than institutional.
We are pleased to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the effort our staff put in consistently and the standards we hold ourselves to. It matters to us that the people in our care, as well as their families, feel confident in the support being provided. We welcome families to be involved and to stay in contact, because we believe good care works best when it is built around open and honest relationships.
Worthing is a community we are genuinely part of, and we take that seriously. The people we care for are not just residents in a building; they are our neighbours, and we treat them accordingly.
If you are exploring options for yourself or a loved one, we are always happy to have an honest conversation about what we offer and whether Westholme Clinic might be the right fit. There is no pressure, just a straightforward chat. Please do get in touch and we will do our best to help.

More about the care at Westholme Clinic Limited
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Older residents at Westholme Clinic can expect help with the everyday things that become harder over time, from washing and dressing to medication prompts, meals and simple companionship through the day. A nursing home is registered to support people whose needs go beyond what a residential setting can manage, which often means closer monitoring and personal care delivered with dignity. Families weighing up Worthing options should ask how morning and evening routines are planned around each person, how choice is preserved around bedtimes and meals, and how staffing is arranged overnight when the home is quieter. It is also worth asking how key workers are matched, how care plans are reviewed, and how families are kept in the loop. Weekly fees across the South East typically sit between £1350 and £1750, while West Sussex council usually funds around £950 to £1150.
Dementia
Good dementia support in a nursing home tends to rest on familiar daily rhythms, staff who understand how the condition affects mood and communication, and a layout that feels calm, secure and easy to navigate without feeling locked down. Westholme Clinic is registered to provide dementia care, so it is worth asking directly how the team responds when someone becomes distressed, anxious or agitated, and what they do when a resident tries to leave or wanders at night. Ask how they adapt as the illness progresses, how they involve you in decisions about food refusal, mobility loss or end of life wishes, and how they use life story information. West Sussex council usually contributes around £950 to £1150 a week, with private fees in the region often higher.
Younger Adults
Adults under 65 have very different social needs from residents in their eighties or nineties, and Westholme Clinic in Worthing is registered to support this group alongside older people. Ask how age appropriate interests, technology, outings and contact with friends are supported, and whether there are other younger residents currently living at the home. Peer company, privacy and a sense of ordinary adult life all matter here.
Respite Care
Planned respite at Westholme Clinic tends to need booking several weeks ahead, particularly around school holidays when carers most need a break. Many nursing homes ask for a minimum stay of one or two weeks, so check this along with the daily rate, which usually sits above the equivalent long stay fee. Pack medication in its original packaging, GP details, clothing labelled, and familiar items. A respite stay can also work as a quiet trial before any permanent move.
Nursing Care
Round the clock input from registered nurses is the defining feature of a nursing home, and Westholme Clinic is registered to provide exactly that. People who need this level of care are usually managing complex or unstable conditions, such as advanced Parkinson's, post stroke needs, catheter or PEG feeding, wound care or end of life symptoms that cannot be safely handled by care assistants alone. When a nurse led assessment confirms nursing need, the NHS Funded Nursing Care contribution of about £235 a week is paid directly to the home and comes off the family's invoice, which matters when South East fees commonly run between £1350 and £1750. Ask how nursing cover is arranged overnight, how quickly a GP is called in, and how families are updated when a condition changes.
