About Thorncliffe Grange
Thorncliffe Grange is a nursing home in Tameside, on the eastern side of Greater Manchester. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can care for older people whose health needs go beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it usually means somebody can stay with us as their needs increase rather than facing another move at the hardest possible time. Respite stays are available too, for people who need nursing care for a limited period or whose family carer needs a proper break. Clinically we concentrate on what makes the greatest difference: medication given correctly, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain managed properly, safe moving and handling, and acting early when a condition alters. We work closely with the GP practice and the community health teams who support the home, because noticing something early is usually the difference between managing it here and a trip to hospital. The rest of the job is making this a good place to live. Residents keep their own rooms and their own belongings, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer. Food is cooked here and people are asked what they want. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit.
