About The Heathlands Village
The Heathlands Village is a nursing home in Bury, Greater Manchester. We care for older people who need registered nursing alongside help with daily life, including people living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. Nursing cover at every hour is what allows us to look after people whose needs are genuinely complex. It covers medication, skin and pressure care, continence and nutrition, and the steady monitoring that catches a change while it is still small. Where somebody is nearing the end of their life, it means they can stay somewhere familiar with people who know them. Dementia asks for something other than clinical skill. It asks for a familiar rhythm to the day, surroundings that are easy to make sense of, and staff who go where the person is instead of correcting them. We learn about somebody's working life, family and habits, because that is what explains them to us later. For residents with a learning disability and autistic residents we pay attention to predictable routine, clear information and honest notice before anything changes, because those things prevent far more distress than any response afterwards. Respite and short stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring to arrange a visit.
