About Radcliffe House
Radcliffe House is a nursing home in Bury, supporting adults whose needs bring together nursing and mental health or learning disability care. Many of the people who live here are younger adults, and several have been poorly served elsewhere by places that could manage one part of their needs but not the whole picture. That combination is what we are set up for. Registered nurses are on duty throughout the day and night, and the wider team is experienced in supporting autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and people living with serious mental ill health. Working together, they can hold a situation steady that might otherwise end in a hospital admission. We take a great deal of care over how someone arrives. Visits first, at the person's pace, information shared honestly in both directions and a proper handover from whoever has been supporting them. A rushed move sets everyone back months, and we would rather take the extra weeks. Daily life here is meant to be ordinary. People go out, keep up interests, see family and make their own decisions wherever they can, with support that is planned rather than improvised. Respite stays are available where we have room and where we are confident it will work well for everyone. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for a placement in the Manchester area, ring us and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
