About Us
Langfield Nursing and Residential Home provides both nursing and residential care in Manchester for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss. We also take planned respite stays.
Offering residential and nursing care in one place matters more than it sounds. When somebody's health needs increase, they do not automatically have to pack up and move somewhere unfamiliar. They can usually stay where their friends are, where staff know their habits, and where their family already knows the way.
Having qualified nurses here means conditions can be managed steadily and medicines properly reviewed, with fewer trips to hospital for things that can be handled well here. But we try never to let clinical care crowd out ordinary life. Residents choose when to get up and how to spend the day, meals are meant to be enjoyed, and visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried, and where somebody has a physical disability or sight and hearing loss we agree together how they want to be helped and approached.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives what they make of us, and we act on it.
