About Oak Court

We are a nursing home in Norwich, caring for older people and for younger adults who need nursing support, including people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also welcome people for respite stays where a period of nursing care is what is needed rather than a permanent move. Nurses being here at every hour means that health needs which are complicated or changeable can be looked after without somebody having to move again, or spend their time travelling to and from hospital. That is what brings most families to us in the first place. What keeps them content is different and simpler. Whether the staff are kind, whether anybody has time to sit down for a minute, whether their relative seems settled when they come in. Physical disability and sensory loss change the practical shape of good care. How somebody is helped to move, how much time is allowed, how a room is arranged, how we announce ourselves rather than appearing at a shoulder. We expect our staff to get these things right as a matter of course, because they are what make the difference between being cared for and being handled. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome here and we would much rather you came and saw the place for yourself than relied on anything written down. Please contact us and we will arrange a time for you to visit.
