About Bassingham Care Centre
We are Bassingham Care Centre, a nursing home in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. We care for older people and younger adults needing nursing support, including people living with dementia, people with a mental health condition and people with a physical disability, and we take respite admissions as well as permanent residents. Having nursing staff on site around the clock is what makes that range workable. Clinical needs are picked up by people who know the resident, and a change in someone's health does not mean a move somewhere unfamiliar. It also means end of life care can happen here, which matters a great deal to families. Where dementia and a mental health condition sit together in one person, which is more common than the categories suggest, we try to look at the whole picture rather than treating each label separately. Most of what actually helps is unremarkable written down. Familiar staff, a routine that holds, an environment that makes sense, and time enough that nothing has to be hurried. Families tell us things no assessment form captures, so we ask early and keep asking. Visiting is not something we ration. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
