About Us

At Wickmeads, we provide nursing home care in Bournemouth, and we take real pride in the environment we have created here. Our team works hard every day to make sure that each person who lives with us feels genuinely at home, supported, and valued as an individual.

We care for older people across a range of needs, and our specialisms reflect the breadth of experience our nursing and care staff bring to their work. Whether someone is living with dementia, managing a physical disability, or adjusting to changes in their vision or hearing, we work to understand what matters most to them and build their care around that. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give family carers some time to rest.

Our nursing care provision means we are able to support people with more complex health needs, and our team works closely with GPs, district nurses, and other health professionals to make sure that medical care is joined up and responsive. Families tell us they value knowing that there is qualified nursing support available around the clock.

We were pleased to receive a rating of "good" from the Care Quality Commission following our most recent inspection, and we see that as a reflection of the consistent, attentive care our team provides day to day rather than simply a result to aim for.

If you are looking into care options for yourself or someone you love, we would very much welcome the chance to show you around and have a proper conversation about what life at Wickmeads looks like. We know that choosing a nursing home is a significant decision, and we want to make sure you have everything you need to feel confident in your choice.
