About Us
Branksome Heights is a nursing home in Bournemouth. We provide both nursing and residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Offering both nursing and residential care in one home means people do not have to move on when their health changes. Somebody who arrives needing very little can stay put as needs increase, keeping the same room, the same staff and the same company. For a great many families that continuity is the single most important thing we provide.
Nurses are here at all hours, so medication, skin care, nutrition and pain are managed on site and changes in health are noticed by people who know how somebody normally is. Alongside that, we work hard at the ordinary parts of the day, because being properly cared for and having a life worth living are not the same thing.
Where sight or hearing has failed, we say who has come into the room and describe what is happening rather than assuming it is obvious.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
Please come and visit if you are considering care locally.
