We at Vanity Care are proud to provide compassionate home care across London, supporting older people and those living with dementia in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. Based in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, we bring professional, person centred care directly to the doorsteps of families throughout the E postcode area. Operating within the vibrant and diverse community of Waltham Forest, we understand the unique rhythms of London life and the importance of maintaining independence at home. Our reach across the E postcode means we are well placed to respond to families in our local neighbourhoods, offering a familiar and trusted presence in a city that so many call home. Rather than asking loved ones to move away from everything they know, we come to them, preserving cherished routines, favourite chairs by the window, and the reassuring surroundings of a lifetime. Our specialisms centre on older person care, home care, and dementia care. In practice, this means our team is experienced in supporting the daily needs of older adults, from help with personal care, medication reminders, and mobility to companionship and meal preparation. For those living with dementia, we take particular care to build gentle, consistent relationships, recognising that familiar faces and calm routines can make a profound difference to wellbeing. We work closely with families, keeping communication open so relatives always feel informed, involved, and reassured about the care their loved one is receiving. Our care is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and we are pleased that our most recent inspection awarded us an overall rating of Good. Inspectors rated us Good across the Safe, Effective, Caring, and Well led domains, recognising the standards we uphold in day to day care and leadership. We were rated Requires Improvement in the Responsive domain, and we take this feedback seriously as an opportunity to strengthen how we tailor and adapt our care to each individual's changing needs. For families, this transparent rating offers reassurance that independent oversight is in place, whilst also showing our ongoing commitment to learning and improvement. Choosing home care is a deeply personal decision, and we know how much thought goes into finding the right support for someone you love. If you are exploring options for a parent, partner, or relative in Waltham Forest or the wider East London area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We would be glad to talk through your family's situation, answer your questions, and help you understand how thoughtful home care could make every day a little easier, safer, and brighter for the person who matters most to you.

    • Home Care

At Victorious Care Professionals, we provide home care to people living in Waltham Forest and the surrounding areas of London. Our work centres on supporting individuals to remain living comfortably and safely in their own homes, which we know matters enormously to the people we care for and to their families. We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and those living with dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, or visual and hearing impairments. Because each person's circumstances are different, we take time to understand what matters most to each individual before agreeing how we can best support them. Care is arranged around the person's own routine and preferences rather than fitted around a rigid schedule that suits nobody particularly well. We understand that inviting someone into your home to provide care is a significant decision. It requires trust, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our team members are carefully selected not only for their skills and experience but also for their warmth, reliability and genuine commitment to the people they support. We make sure that staff are well trained and that the people we care for feel heard and respected at every stage. For families, we know that finding the right care for a loved one can feel overwhelming. We aim to make that process as straightforward and reassuring as possible, keeping communication open and being honest about what we can offer. If something is not working as well as it should, we would rather hear about it promptly so we can put it right. We are proud to serve our local community in Waltham Forest and remain focused on providing care that genuinely makes a difference to people's daily lives. If you would like to find out more about how we might be able to help, please do get in touch.

    • Home Care

Visiting Angels South West Essex provides care at home for people in Waltham Forest and the surrounding area. We are a home care agency, so our care workers come to you, and the point of the whole arrangement is that people stay in their own homes on their own terms. We support older people, including many living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults. Because those needs are so different, we begin with a proper conversation about how someone lives now, what has become difficult and what they want to carry on doing themselves. Support might mean help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, meals and shopping, help keeping a household going, or company and a dependable presence for someone who finds the days long. We keep small consistent teams, because familiarity is what allows a care worker to notice when something is not quite right. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. Until we are, we would rather you asked us direct questions and spoke to the families we already work with. If you are starting to look into care for yourself or a relative, please get in touch and we will talk it through with you honestly.

As a home care agency, our team travels to those who need us, delivering personalised support wherever our clients call home. We also support adults with learning disabilities and autism, tailoring our care to promote confidence, choice, and meaningful daily living. Younger adults who require support are welcomed with the same commitment to respect and empowerment, ensuring care plans reflect individual goals, interests, and aspirations rather than a one size fits all approach. In practice, this means families can trust that a loved one receiving support from us is being cared for by people who take the time to understand them as a person first. From help with personal care, medication, and mobility, to companionship and support with everyday tasks, our aim is always to enhance quality of life whilst easing the worries that families so often carry. We know how significant it is to invite carers into a family member's home, and we treat that trust with the seriousness and warmth it deserves. Our Care Quality Commission rating of Good reflects this commitment. The CQC found us to be Good across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led. For families, this independent recognition offers reassurance that the care delivered is safe, that outcomes are positive, that our staff are genuinely compassionate, that support adapts to changing needs, and that our agency is thoughtfully managed. If you are exploring home care options for yourself or someone you love in London, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing care is a deeply personal decision, and we are here to listen, answer your questions, and guide you gently through the next steps. • Home Care

Winray Care Housing provides care and support in people's own homes and tenancies across the London borough of Waltham Forest. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We would rather tell you this ourselves. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us as requires improvement. We are not going to talk around it. The findings were taken seriously, there is an improvement plan we are working through, and we would much prefer you heard it from us. Ask us directly what has changed and what is still outstanding and you will get a straight answer. What we are trying to do has not changed. Our aim is to make independent living genuinely workable rather than nominally available, which means helping with whichever parts of somebody's week have become unmanageable and deliberately not taking over the parts that have not. The work covers personal care, medication, meals, household jobs, shopping and appointments, and for some of the people we support it looks quite different, with somebody alongside them at college, at a group or on the bus. Real improvement comes from listening to the people we support and then acting rather than recording. That is where our attention is, and anybody is welcome to hold us to it.

    • Home Care

At Wood Street, we provide home care support to people living in Waltham Forest and the surrounding areas of London. We work with adults who need help at home, including people with learning disabilities and autism, and we take real pride in getting that support right for each individual we work with. We know that inviting someone into your home, or into the home of someone you love, is a significant decision. That is why we focus on building genuine relationships between our care workers and the people they support. Consistency matters to us. We want the people we work with to feel comfortable, respected and in control of their own lives, not simply managed or processed through a system. Our team supports people with a wide range of needs, from help with everyday tasks and personal care through to more specialist support for those living with a learning disability or autism. We take time to understand what each person values, how they communicate and what a good day looks like for them, because care that does not start from that point is unlikely to make a real difference. We are proud to have received a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission. That matters to us, not as something to hang on a wall, but as an honest reflection of the work our team puts in every day. We continue to look for ways to improve and to respond to feedback from the people we support and their families. If you are thinking about care for yourself or someone close to you, we would welcome the chance to have a conversation. We are based in Waltham Forest and are happy to talk through what support might look like before any decisions are made.

Zephyr Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Waltham Forest and the surrounding parts of London. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions, and people with a physical disability or with sight or hearing loss. Everything starts with a visit and a proper conversation about how the day currently works, where it falls down, what the person wants to keep doing for themselves and what help they would genuinely welcome. The plan that follows is agreed with the person and written in plain language. Our support covers personal care, prompting and assistance with medication, preparing meals and drinks, help with moving about safely, shopping, laundry and housework, and getting out to appointments, education or work. We review arrangements as circumstances change. Our carers are trained for the needs they support and supervised in the work, and we keep the same people visiting the same households wherever the rota allows, because continuity is what makes support feel like help rather than intrusion. We work alongside families, GPs, community nurses and social workers. If you are considering care at home in this area, please contact us and we will arrange to visit you.

    • Home Care

We provide care at home in Woodford Green and across Waltham Forest, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Needs that varied cannot be met from a standard package, so we ask before we plan. For an older person, help often centres on personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house manageable. For a younger adult it is more likely to be about independence: running a home, getting to work or college, handling money and keeping appointments. Where somebody is living with dementia, a familiar and unhurried carer does more good than anything written down. In a part of London where people are used to seeing a different carer every week, continuity is the thing worth fighting for. We try to send the same staff to the same households, because that familiarity is what allows somebody to notice when a person is unwell, in pain or unusually withdrawn. Our staff are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and have senior colleagues they can reach when a situation is unclear. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking into care at home for yourself or a relative, please get in touch for an honest conversation.

Arranging and funding home care in Waltham Forest

Requesting a care needs assessment

The practical starting point is an assessment rather than a round of telephone calls. Anyone who appears to need care and support can request a free care needs assessment regardless of income or savings, and the document it produces is what every agency will want to work from. A practitioner from the London Borough of Waltham Forest will look at how somebody manages washing, dressing, eating, taking medication, moving safely indoors and staying in contact with other people, then record which needs are eligible for support. Anyone providing regular unpaid help can ask for a carer's assessment of their own at the same time.

Costs and contributions

A financial assessment of income and capital follows once eligible needs are agreed. Care may then be funded in full, funded in part with a contribution from the person receiving it, or paid for privately. Where funding is agreed, a direct payment allows the family to commission an agency of their own choosing instead of accepting one arranged for them. Privately funded home care across London is normally charged by the hour, with higher rates at weekends, on bank holidays and for short calls, while live in support is quoted by the week. Ask each agency to set out its rates, minimum visit length and notice period in writing before anything is agreed.

Choosing between home care agencies in Waltham Forest

Making sense of the ratings

All fifty eight agencies listed here are registered with the Care Quality Commission. One has been rated Outstanding and thirty one Good, five hold Requires Improvement, and twenty one are not yet rated because they registered too recently to be inspected. An absent rating means no inspection has taken place rather than that anything has gone wrong, so ask how long the agency has operated, who registered it and what training new carers complete. Where a report exists, read what inspectors found about the punctuality of calls, medicines administration and recording, staff training and how the manager responded to concerns.

Matching the agency to the person

Agencies vary in what they take on. Some focus on short personal care visits, others provide longer companionship calls, dementia support, overnight cover or help settling someone home after a hospital stay, and providers in this listing such as Chosen Care Group in Waltham Forest, Goldsmith Personnel in East London and Total Loving Care work in different ways. Confirm that carers travel to the specific address, ask who writes the care plan and how quickly it can be changed when needs increase.

Questions worth asking everybody

Ask how many different carers will attend over a fortnight and whether a consistent team is kept for each person. Find out how you would be told when a call is running late, who answers the telephone at weekends and how complaints are recorded and followed up. Ask how often care plans are formally reviewed, since that is usually where reliability shows itself.

Frequently asked questions about home care in Waltham Forest

How many home care agencies are there in Waltham Forest?

Waltham Forest has 58 CQC registered home care agencies: 1 Outstanding, 31 Good, 5 Requires improvement, 21 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

How much does home care cost in Waltham Forest?

Hourly care visits, London: £22.88 to £30.05 an hour. Middle half of prices from 16 agencies. Median £24.48. Shown for London because too few Waltham Forest agencies publish a rate. Published prices come from agencies that publish rates, so treat them as a guide. Ask the agency for its own price.

Which home care agencies in Waltham Forest were inspected most recently?

Goldsmith Personnel Limited (East London) (27 July 2026), Upscale Care Limited (14 May 2026) and Carefield - Supported Living (16 February 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.

Can the London Borough of Waltham Forest help pay for home care?

It may, once two assessments have been completed. A care needs assessment first establishes whether the person has eligible needs, and a financial assessment then considers income and capital. Care may be funded in full, funded in part with a personal contribution, or paid for privately. Where funding is agreed, a direct payment lets the family choose and commission their own agency.

How do I arrange a care needs assessment in Waltham Forest?

Contact the adult social care team at the London Borough of Waltham Forest and describe what has become difficult at home. The assessment is free and open to anyone who appears to need care and support, regardless of savings. A practitioner will discuss daily tasks, safety and wellbeing during a home visit or by telephone, then set out which needs are eligible. If you provide regular unpaid care, ask for a carer's assessment at the same time.

How soon should I start arranging home care in Waltham Forest?

Start when everyday tasks begin slipping rather than waiting for a crisis to force the decision. Agencies with strong reputations often have limited capacity in particular parts of the borough, and arranging an assessment, comparing providers and agreeing a care plan takes a few weeks in practice. A hospital discharge compresses that timetable considerably. Having a shortlist ready makes an urgent situation much less stressful.

Which home care agencies cover Waltham Forest?

Care Assura lists fifty eight home care agencies serving Waltham Forest, all registered with the Care Quality Commission. They include providers such as Chosen Care Group in Waltham Forest, Goldsmith Personnel in East London, Total Loving Care and Vanity Care. Each profile shows the current CQC rating where one has been published, together with the details needed to make contact. Narrowing the list to your own neighbourhood keeps the comparison manageable.

What should I ask a home care agency in Waltham Forest before agreeing to visits?

Ask how many different carers will attend and whether the agency keeps a consistent team for each person. Check how late calls are communicated, who is contactable outside office hours and how complaints are investigated. Ask to see a sample care plan and find out how quickly it can be revised after a hospital discharge. Request written confirmation of hourly rates, weekend and bank holiday charges, minimum visit lengths and the notice period.

What is the difference between a care home and a nursing home?

A residential care home provides accommodation together with personal care, so staff help with washing, dressing, meals and medication in a shared setting. A nursing home offers the same support and additionally has registered nurses on duty, allowing it to meet clinical needs such as complex wound care or an unstable long term condition. Home care sits apart from both, since the support travels to the person in their own home. Many families in Waltham Forest rely on home care for a long time before either kind of home is considered.
