About Bells Piece Supported Living Service
Bells Piece provides supported living for people in their own homes in Farnham and across this part of Surrey. We work with adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, older people and younger adults. In supported living the aim is somebody's own life, not a placement. People here have their own tenancies and their own front doors, and support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do. We keep asking whether we are helping more than is wanted, because independence slips away quietly if nobody is protecting it. For some people that means cooking, budgeting and getting to work or college. For others it means managing a tenancy, keeping appointments and having somebody reliable who turns up. The balance shifts over time, and we expect it to. We learn how each person communicates, including those who use little or no speech, and we adapt to them rather than the reverse. Predictability, noise and sensory needs all affect how a day goes, and we treat those as part of the support. We keep families involved where the person wants that, and we are honest when something is not working. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to talk things through.
