About Qualis Home Care
Qualis Home Care supports people in their own homes in Dorking and the surrounding part of Surrey. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, physical disabilities, sensory loss and eating disorders. We assess at home, with whoever the person wants present, and the conversation is as much about what somebody intends to keep doing for themselves as about what they need from us. The plan is agreed rather than issued and it changes when circumstances do. Support may be a single short call each day, visits at several points for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. Where somebody is living with an eating disorder, mealtimes can be the hardest part of a day, so we are patient, we do not make a performance of it, we record what is actually eaten and drunk rather than what was offered, and we work with GPs and dietitians rather than in isolation. Where somebody is living with dementia we pay close attention to timing and familiar faces. Where there is sensory loss we think about lighting, contrast and hearing aids that have actually been checked. Our carers are checked, trained and supervised. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
