About Around The Clock Care Agency

At Around The Clock Care Agency, we provide home care to people living in Camberley, Surrey and the surrounding areas. We work with a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, and people living with dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. Our aim is straightforward: to support people to live well in the comfort of their own homes, on their own terms. We understand that inviting a care agency into your home is a significant decision, and we do not take that trust lightly. Every person we support has their own routines, preferences, and ways of doing things, and we make it our business to understand what matters most to each individual. Care is not one size fits all, and we put real thought into matching the right carer to each person we work with. We are proud to hold a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistent effort our team puts in day to day. It is something we work to maintain rather than simply celebrate, because we know the people we support and their families rely on us to get things right. Whether someone needs a short visit each day or more regular support throughout the week, we are here to help. We work closely with families and other professionals involved in a person's care, keeping communication open and honest at every stage. If you are looking for home care in Camberley or the nearby area, or if you are simply trying to understand what options might be available for yourself or a loved one, we are always happy to have a conversation. There is no pressure, just straightforward information from people who genuinely want to help you find the right support.

What the inspectors found

A plain English summary of the Care Quality Commission inspection behind the current rating of Around The Clock Care Agency. Report published 24 October 2018.

  • 17 September 2018
  • First assessment of the service

Safe

Inspectors found there were enough staff to deliver all the care hours people needed. Safe recruitment practices and safeguarding procedures were in place. Risks to people in their homes were identified and kept under review. Medicines were given safely, and there were weekly medicines checks.

Effective

Inspectors found people had an assessment with them and their family before any service began. Staff had an induction and training, and were supervised regularly. The service worked with other agencies to meet people's needs. Staff sought people's consent in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Caring

Inspectors found staff treated people with kindness and compassion. Staff had enough time to work in a calm way and involve people in the way they liked. People's privacy was maintained and their independence was promoted.

Responsive

Inspectors found people received care in a personal way that suited them. As far as possible, the timing of calls and the choice of care worker was met. People knew how to complain, and there had been no formal complaints. The service provided end of life care and worked with other agencies to do this.

Well-led

Inspectors found the registered manager was also one of the two directors of the company. This was a small service in its first year of operation. It had partnered with quality management companies for its governance and quality systems. Staff and people felt able to approach the manager with feedback. The provider was reviewing policies and had put a new electronic scheduling system in place to plan and track care.

What people told the inspectors

People told inspectors they felt they mattered to the staff and that staff took a personal interest in them. Relatives had fed back that they were pleased with the care given.
