The help ranges from a short call in the morning through to several visits a day: personal care, support with medication, meals, keeping the home in order, getting out and about, and company for people who would otherwise see nobody. Because we are working in somebody's private space, often at moments when they feel exposed, we think a great deal about how the work is done rather than only what gets done. Knocking and waiting.
