About Us
Estuary Community Support and Supported Living works with people in their own homes in Southend on Sea and the surrounding area. We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, people with physical disabilities and with visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults building independent lives. A good deal of what we do is supported living, where the person holds their own tenancy and our role is to make independent life workable rather than to run it for them. That can mean support with cooking, budgeting, keeping a home going, managing health and appointments and getting out to work, college or the places somebody enjoys, alongside personal care where it is needed. Support is planned with the person, in words they recognise as their own, and reviewed as they move on. Where somebody wants to need us less over time, that is a proper goal and we plan for it rather than quietly avoiding it. Consistent, familiar staff are what make this work, so we keep teams small, introduce new workers properly and do not send anyone in cold. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are arranging support in the Southend area, for yourself or for somebody you work with, please get in touch and we will talk it through.
