    • Care Home

SignHealth Constance Way is a residential care home in Leeds. We support older people and younger adults, including people who are deaf or have a hearing or visual impairment, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people managing mental health conditions. We also offer respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period. Communication is at the centre of what we do here. When someone cannot easily follow what is being said around them, life in a care setting can become isolating very quickly, and that isolation causes real harm. So we work on the person's terms: we make sure people can see us before we begin, we use the communication method that suits them, we give them time, and we make sure they are included in conversations about their own life rather than talked about across the room. Around that, we run an ordinary home. People have their own room and their own belongings, keep their own routines, and decide how much of the day they spend in company. Support covers the parts of life that need it, from personal care and health appointments through to cooking, getting out locally and keeping in touch with family and friends. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here what would make things better, in a form they can genuinely engage with, and anyone considering the home is welcome to visit and see it as it is.

    • Care Home

We at Pennington Court Care Home offer residential care in the heart of Leeds, providing a warm and welcoming home for older people who need support with daily living, including those living with dementia. Our setting in the LS postcode area places us within easy reach of family, friends, and the wider Leeds community, making visits and outings a natural part of life here. Our home has been thoughtfully arranged to feel comfortable and familiar, with communal areas where residents can socialise, quieter spaces for reflection, and private rooms that residents are encouraged to personalise. Being located in Leeds means our residents benefit from the character of a vibrant city whilst enjoying the calm and security of a dedicated residential setting. Care at Pennington Court is centred on the individual. Our specialisms in older person care and residential care mean we support residents with the everyday tasks that may have become more challenging, from personal care and mobility to medication and nutrition, always with dignity at the forefront. For families whose loved ones are living with dementia, our dementia care approach focuses on creating a calm, structured environment where familiar routines, gentle encouragement, and compassionate support help residents feel safe and understood. We also offer respite care, providing short term stays that give family carers a well earned break whilst ensuring their loved one experiences the same warmth and attentive support as our permanent residents. In practice, this means families can trust that whether the stay is for a week, a month, or a lifetime, the care remains consistent, personal, and respectful. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and transparency matters. Our most recent CQC inspection resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement. Within that inspection, we were rated Good for being Effective and Good for being Caring, reflecting the genuine warmth of our team and the meaningful support residents receive day to day. The areas identified as Requires Improvement, covering Safe, Responsive, and Well led, are ones we take seriously, and we remain committed to listening, learning, and strengthening every aspect of life at Pennington Court so that residents and their families feel fully confident in the care provided. If you are exploring care options in Leeds for an older relative, considering dementia support, or looking for a trusted respite stay, we warmly invite you to get in touch. A conversation, a visit, and a chance to see our home for yourself can make all the difference, and we would be honoured to welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

    • Care Home

Halcyon Court Care Home is a residential home in Leeds. We are a permanent home to older people and to some younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. Most of our residents need help with washing and dressing, moving about safely, medication given properly and on time, and meals worth looking forward to, with somebody nearby through the night. A good number are living with dementia, and we let that shape the whole house rather than treating it as a separate wing. The day follows a recognisable pattern, familiar staff are around, people keep their own belongings and habits, and somebody who is anxious gets company and time rather than correction. Food is cooked on the premises and, in a city as varied as Leeds, we ask about tastes and about dietary and religious requirements rather than assuming. There is somewhere sociable to sit and somewhere quiet, the garden gets used when the weather allows, and visitors do not need an appointment. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Choosing a home for yourself or a relative is a hard thing to do, so please come and visit, at a mealtime if you can, and talk to whoever is on duty.

    • Care Home

Berkeley Court is a residential care home in Leeds providing care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia. People come to us at very different points in their lives. Some have managed at home for years with increasing difficulty, others arrive suddenly after a fall or a spell in hospital. Either way the first weeks matter, and we spend them learning about the person, their family and their habits, because that is what makes the difference between care that fits and care in general. Staff help with washing and dressing, with moving about safely, with medication and with eating and drinking well, and they do it without hurry. For those living with dementia we keep the day predictable and the surroundings familiar, adjust how we communicate rather than expecting the person to adjust to us, and treat distress as something to be understood. The home is somewhere people live. Rooms are personalised, meals are cooked here with a genuine choice, there is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and visitors are welcome without ceremony. Respite and short stays can be arranged. If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time that suits you.

    • Care Home

Oak Tree Lodge is a residential care home in Leeds. We support older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we would rather put that at the start than tuck it away at the end. We know what the inspectors found. We have an improvement plan, we are working through it with our staff team and with families, and we are reporting on progress to the inspectors and to the local authority. Anyone thinking about a place here should ask us exactly what is changing, how quickly and how we are checking that it lasts. What we are working to protect meanwhile is a home where people are known properly. Rooms that belong to the person in them. Staff who notice when somebody is not themselves. A day that is not run by a timetable. Visitors welcome without fuss. For people living with dementia we focus on familiarity and time, keeping the same staff involved wherever we can and learning about a person's life from their family so that we can reassure rather than correct. Respite guests are welcome too, and a short stay can be a sensible way for a family to see how things go before any longer decision. Please come and look round, talk to our staff and put the difficult questions to us.

    • Care Home

We are Simon Marks Court, a residential care home in Leeds. We provide a home for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also take respite stays. Residential care means supporting people with what has become hard work and leaving the rest where it belongs, which is with the person. Washing and dressing, meals, medication, moving about safely, and the everyday company that makes a day worth having. Anything beyond our registration we arrange with district nurses and GPs rather than trying to cover it ourselves. Dementia shapes a good deal of our day. Knowing who somebody has been tells us more than any list of symptoms does. A resident who spent decades in a particular trade or brought up a family in a particular part of the city still carries that, and a conversation that connects with it can turn an afternoon around. We work at keeping the place feeling like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they are kept. Own belongings, own routines, sociable mealtimes, and visitors who do not need to book. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

    • Care Home

Here at Headingley Hall Care Home, we are proud to be part of the Leeds community, offering a warm and familiar environment where older people can feel genuinely at home. Whether someone is joining us for a short stay or making Headingley Hall their permanent home, we work hard to ensure every individual feels known, respected and well looked after. We specialise in residential care, dementia care, older person care and respite care, which means our team has real experience supporting people through a wide range of needs and circumstances. For those living with dementia, we take time to understand each person's history, preferences and routines, because we believe that good care starts with truly knowing someone. Respite stays are equally important to us, and we welcome short term residents with the same warmth and attention we offer everyone else. Our most recent Care Quality Commission rating is good, and we are genuinely pleased with that outcome. It reflects the consistent effort our team puts in day to day, not just when inspectors visit. We always want to build on what we do well and listen honestly to feedback from residents and their families. Life at Headingley Hall is shaped as much as possible by the people who live here. Meals, activities, visiting arrangements and daily routines are all approached with flexibility, because we know that no two people are the same. Families are always welcome, and we encourage them to stay involved and speak openly with us at any time. If you are exploring care options for yourself or someone you love, we would be very happy to have a conversation or arrange a visit. We think the best way to understand what we offer is simply to come and see us for yourself.

    • Care Home

Rievaulx House Care Centre is a care home in Leeds, offering residential care to older people, including those living with dementia. Our days are built around the people who live here rather than around a timetable. Some residents are up early and like the quiet of the morning, others prefer a slow start, and both are perfectly fine. We help with personal care, dressing, meals, medication and getting about, and we try to do it in a way that leaves people feeling capable rather than managed. Dementia care is a large part of what we do, and it has taught us to pay attention to small things. A familiar chair in the same corner, a face someone recognises, a routine that does not shift about: these matter more than any grand statement we could make here. We work with families to learn about a person's history, their work, their music and their habits, because that knowledge is what allows us to care well on a difficult day. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We are happy to discuss how we monitor our own standards in the meantime. Families are welcome here at any reasonable hour, and we would encourage anyone thinking about a move to visit, have a cup of tea with us and talk to the people who live here.

Rievaulx House Care Centre is a residential care home in Leeds. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We keep things straightforward. People usually come to us because managing at home had become hard work, and what they want back is some ease. Meals they do not have to plan or cook. Help when washing and dressing has become a struggle. Somebody who notices when they are not themselves. Company when they want it and quiet when they do not. Residents carry on running their own lives as far as they are able, choosing their routines, arranging their rooms and deciding how much of the day to spend downstairs. We ask people to bring their own furniture and pictures, because a room that looks like yours makes settling in far easier. Dementia care here is built on consistency rather than anything elaborate. Familiar staff, a steady rhythm to the day, and knowing something about a person's earlier life. Families usually supply the details that explain everything, and we ask for them early. When somebody is unsettled, we look for the reason rather than simply calming the moment. Family and friends are welcome at sensible hours and are part of the household rather than visitors to be managed. Please come and look round Rievaulx House and ask us whatever you need to.

We at Grove Park Care Home are proud to offer compassionate residential care in the welcoming city of Leeds. Nestled within the LS postcode area, our home provides a peaceful setting where residents can feel truly at ease, whether they are joining us for long term support or a shorter respite stay. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel warm, familiar, and comforting. Set within the Leeds community, we offer inviting communal spaces where residents can socialise, quieter corners for reflection, and personal rooms that residents are encouraged to make their own. The surroundings reflect the character of our Yorkshire location, giving families reassurance that their loved ones are somewhere both safe and homely. We specialise in supporting older people who require residential care, and we also welcome younger adults whose circumstances mean they benefit from a supportive living environment. Our team is experienced in caring for individuals living with dementia, taking a patient and person centred approach that focuses on preserving dignity, encouraging familiar routines, and easing the anxieties that so often accompany memory loss. For families, this means knowing that a loved one is understood as an individual, with their history, preferences, and personality guiding the care they receive. Alongside this, we provide considered support for residents living with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. Our approach is to adapt to each resident rather than expecting them to adapt to us, whether that involves clear communication techniques, mobility support, or simply taking the time to understand what helps someone feel most comfortable each day. Respite care is also available for families who need short term support, whether following a hospital stay, during a carer's holiday, or simply to give everyone involved a period of rest and reassurance. Our home has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission across all five key areas, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led, following the inspection carried out in January 2020. For families, this consistent rating offers meaningful reassurance that the care provided here meets the standards expected of a trusted residential setting, and that residents are supported by a team committed to doing things properly. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. We at Grove Park Care Home warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and arrange a visit so you can see for yourself the atmosphere we have created here in Leeds. Whatever your circumstances, we are here to listen, guide, and welcome you with kindness.

    • Care Home

We at Beech Hall are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in the heart of Leeds, providing compassionate support for older people, adults living with dementia, and those with learning disabilities or autism. Nestled within the LS postcode area of Leeds, our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel less like an institution and more like a place residents can genuinely call their own. Our setting within Leeds allows residents to remain close to the community they know and love, whilst benefitting from the calm, homely atmosphere we have carefully cultivated indoors. Comfortable communal spaces encourage friendship and shared moments, and quieter corners offer the privacy and reflection that are equally important in day to day life. Every part of our environment is shaped around the wellbeing, dignity, and independence of those who live here. The care we provide is as varied as the individuals we support. For older residents, we focus on maintaining routines, interests, and social connections that bring meaning to each day. Our dementia care is delivered with patience and specialist understanding, recognising that each person's journey is unique and that small, familiar comforts can make an enormous difference. For adults with a learning disability or autism, we take a person centred approach that celebrates individuality, encourages choice, and supports each resident to live the life they want to lead. We also offer respite care, giving family carers the reassurance of a trusted place their loved one can stay whilst they take time to rest and recharge. For families, this breadth of specialism means that as needs change over time, the familiar faces, surroundings, and relationships that mean so much do not have to. It also means our team is experienced in tailoring support sensitively, whether that involves companionship, help with daily living, or more complex personal care. We are immensely proud to hold an Outstanding overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, following their most recent inspection in February 2020. Inspectors rated us as Outstanding in Caring, Responsive, and Well-led, alongside Good ratings for Safe and Effective. For families, an Outstanding rating is more than a mark on a certificate. It reflects the warmth of our team, the responsiveness of our care, and the strong leadership that underpins everything we do. It is confirmation that the standards we set for ourselves are matched by those set by the professionals who regulate care in England. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Leeds, whether for long term residential care, specialist dementia support, learning disability or autism care, or a short respite stay, we would be delighted to welcome you to Beech Hall. Neville House is a residential care home in Leeds, caring for older people who can no longer manage comfortably on their own. We aim for the feel of a house rather than an institution, with people keeping their own habits, their own belongings and a genuine say in how their day goes. We support people living with dementia, and that work rests on continuity above all else. Knowing what somebody's day used to look like, keeping as much of it as we can and understanding what lies behind distress rather than simply managing it is what makes the difference between a settled day and a hard one. Respite stays are available too, whether somebody needs care for a short period after illness or a family carer needs a genuine break. We plan short stays with the same attention as a permanent move, so nobody arrives feeling temporary. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. The better test is whether people who live here seem settled and whether relatives feel able to raise something with us early rather than saving it up. Please come and see us.

We are Paisley Lodge in Leeds. We provide both residential and nursing care, which means people can stay with us as their needs change rather than having to move on at an unsettling moment. We care for older people and for younger adults, and many of those living with us are living with dementia. Qualified nurses are on duty around the clock, so health problems are picked up early by staff who know the person and families are not left wondering what cover exists overnight. With that breadth of need under one roof, flexibility is essential. Nobody is woken to suit a rota, meals bend around the person, and how somebody spends the day is their own business. What we hold constant is that staff know residents well enough to see when a person is off their food, more withdrawn than usual or simply not right. Dementia care here depends on knowing the individual. We learn about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them, and we work with all of that rather than correcting anybody about the present. Families are kept properly informed, we ring early when concerned, and visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us to arrange a visit.

Victoria House Residential Home is a care home in Leeds. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we would rather put it at the start than leave it to be discovered. The inspection found things that were not good enough for the people living here. We have accepted those findings and we are working through them. Anyone considering the home should ask precisely what was identified and precisely what has changed since. What we are working towards is straightforward. A home where residents decide how their own day runs, where rooms belong to the people in them, and where staff know the people they support properly rather than in outline. Where sight or hearing has failed, that also means saying who has come into the room and describing what is happening. Please visit before you decide anything. Read the inspection report in full and judge the home on what you find.

Carr Croft Care Home is a residential care home in Leeds. We look after older people who need help with daily life but not nursing care, including a good number living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. What we offer is help with the ordinary day, given properly and without rush. Getting washed and dressed in a way that leaves somebody feeling like themselves. Medicines on time. Meals that are hot, recognisable and worth eating. Help to move about the building safely. Company for people who had been sitting alone for most of the week before they came to us. For residents with dementia the work is mostly about consistency. The same staff, the same rhythms, a bedroom that looks like the person's own room, and a willingness to go at their pace rather than ours. We ask families for the detail that no assessment ever captures. What he did for a living, what she cannot abide, which songs they know all the words to. We would rather relatives were in the building often than confined to set visiting hours, and we would rather be told promptly when we have got something wrong. Ring us or simply call in, and we will show you round.

Here at Sabourn Court Care Home in Leeds, we provide a warm and supportive environment where residents feel genuinely at home. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we take that responsibility seriously. We support a wide range of needs across our home, including older person care, residential care, dementia care, mental health support, physical disability care, and visual and hearing impairment care. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether that is to give a family carer a well earned break or to support recovery after a period of illness. Whatever brings someone to us, our aim is always the same: to make sure each person feels safe, respected, and valued every single day. Dementia care is something we approach with particular thoughtfulness. We know how disorientating and distressing this condition can be, both for the person living with it and for those who love them. Our team works hard to create calm, familiar routines that bring comfort and reduce anxiety, while always treating each resident as the individual they are. We believe that good care is built on relationships. Getting to know the people who live with us, understanding their histories, their preferences, and what matters most to them, is what shapes the support we provide. No two residents are the same, and we would never want them to feel that way. Our home is part of the Leeds community and we are proud to be here. If you are considering Sabourn Court for yourself or someone close to you, we would warmly welcome the chance to show you around and answer any questions you might have. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

    • Care Home

Oakhaven Care Home in Leeds provides residential care to older people and younger adults. Our residents include people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions and people with a physical disability. With a range like that we plan for the individual rather than the group. We ask a lot of questions when someone moves in and we keep asking afterwards, about routines and preferences, about what helps when a day goes badly, and about who should be involved in decisions. Those answers go into a plan staff genuinely work to. The home itself is meant to be comfortable rather than institutional. People get up when they are ready, meals are cooked here and adjusted for individual tastes, and support with personal care is given calmly and at the resident's pace. Company is available for those who want it and quiet is respected for those who do not. For residents living with dementia, we keep routines familiar and spend real time learning a person's history, because that knowledge is usually what settles someone who is anxious. We also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and visitors are welcome throughout the day.

Aire View is a residential care home in Leeds caring for older people who need daily support that can no longer be managed at home. We provide permanent residential places, care for people living with dementia, support for residents with physical disabilities, and respite stays for those needing a short period of care. We should be straightforward about our regulatory position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We do not dispute those findings. Acting on them is the main piece of work in front of our management team, and we would rather tell you plainly and answer your questions than let you find out about it elsewhere. Families are entitled to ask us exactly what is being done and to expect a proper answer. What we expect of our staff day to day has not changed. People here are helped with washing, dressing, medication, mobility and meals whenever they want it, and left to do for themselves whatever they can still manage. Residents keep their own belongings and their own routines, and choose how they spend their time. For residents living with dementia we work at their pace and take the trouble to learn who they have always been, because knowing somebody's history is usually more useful than any technique on a difficult day. If you are looking at care homes in Leeds, please come and see us, meet the team and ask the difficult questions, including about our rating.

Being situated in Leeds means our residents benefit from the warmth of a strong local community, whilst families enjoy the convenience of excellent transport links across West Yorkshire when coming to visit. At the heart of what we do is older person care, residential care, and specialist dementia care. We understand that no two residents are the same, and that each person who joins us brings a lifetime of memories, preferences, and personality. Our approach is built around getting to know every individual properly, so that the support we provide reflects who they truly are. For those living with dementia, this means consistent, compassionate care delivered by a team trained to recognise the unique challenges the condition can bring. We focus on preserving dignity, encouraging independence wherever possible, and creating gentle daily routines that help residents feel calm, valued, and understood. For families, choosing residential care is rarely an easy decision, and we appreciate the trust placed in us when a loved one moves through our doors. We see our role as a partnership, working alongside relatives to share updates, welcome involvement, and ensure that the transition into our home is as smooth and reassuring as possible. Whether it is a favourite armchair brought from home, a cherished photograph by the bedside, or a particular routine that brings comfort, the small details matter to us because they matter to our residents. We are pleased to share that Nesfield Lodge has been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission across every area assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well led, following our most recent inspection. This rating reflects the consistent standard of care our team strives to deliver each day, and the genuine warmth that runs through every part of life at the home. For families, an independent Good rating across all five domains offers reassurance that the care, leadership, and culture here meet the high expectations the regulator sets out, and that residents are looked after by a team committed to doing things properly. Daily life at Nesfield Lodge is shaped by kindness, conversation, and the simple pleasures that make a house feel like a home. Mealtimes are sociable occasions, activities are tailored to the interests of those taking part, and there is always time for a chat, a song, or a shared memory. We believe that good care is about far more than meeting practical needs; it is about nurturing wellbeing, honouring life stories, and ensuring that every resident continues to feel a meaningful part of a community. If you are exploring residential or dementia care options in Leeds for a parent, partner, or relative, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing the right home is a deeply personal journey, and we are here to answer your questions, share more about life at Nesfield Lodge, and help you feel confident about the next steps. Manor House Care Home is a residential home in Leeds supporting older people, including those living with dementia, and adults with mental health needs. We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and whatever else has become difficult, and we leave people in charge of the rest. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and take time to work out what lies behind a change in mood rather than treating it as a symptom. For residents with mental health needs, stability, a calm household and staff who know a person well enough to notice a change do most of the good, and we work with local services and doctors. Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want to eat, including the food they have always eaten. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time. Respite stays are available, whether to give a family carer a break or to support somebody through a short period of difficulty. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.

Alexandra Court Residential Home is in Leeds. We care for older people who need support with daily living, including those living with dementia, those living with mental health conditions and those whose sight or hearing is impaired. Our care is the practical, daily kind: help to wash and dress, medication given properly, meals cooked here, support to move about safely and staff available through the night. Around that, residents arrange their own time as they wish, and we try not to organise people's lives on their behalf. For residents living with dementia we keep the rhythm of the day predictable and the staff around them consistent. Where sight or hearing is impaired we keep belongings exactly where they are expected, approach people so as not to startle them and check that we have been understood. For people living with mental health conditions, consistency and staff who stay steady when things are difficult count for a great deal. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Leeds are welcome to visit. Please ring and we will arrange a time.

Cranmer Scheme provides residential care in Leeds for adults, including people living with dementia and adults with learning disabilities and autism. We also offer planned respite stays. The people who live here are adults with their own lives to lead, and our job is to make those lives possible rather than to manage them. Everybody has their own room, their own routine and a real say in how the house runs. Our staff help with personal care, medicines, meals, money and the ordinary work of a household, and we stand back wherever somebody can manage alone, because independence is easily eroded by being helpful. The particulars are where the work lies. How a person communicates, what makes an environment tolerable, how much notice they need before something changes, and which parts of the day they would rather handle themselves are all things we learn from the person rather than assume from a diagnosis. For anybody living with dementia we keep the shape of the day recognisable and work at the pace that person can manage. We also support people to have a life beyond the building, keeping up with family and friends and getting to the activities, groups, work or education that matter to them. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

We are a recovery hub in east Leeds, providing residential care and short term support for older people, including people living with dementia. A good deal of our work is about helping people regain what a hospital stay, an illness or a fall has taken from them. That means our approach differs from a permanent care home in one important respect. Where a lot of care is about doing things for people, much of ours is about standing alongside while they do things themselves, which takes longer and asks more patience of everybody involved. The point is that confidence and ability come back faster when they are used, and that a support package arranged in the first anxious week after discharge is usually larger than the one somebody actually needs a month later. We work closely with hospital, community health and social care colleagues so that people are not left to coordinate their own recovery between services that do not talk to one another. Respite stays are also available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and families are welcome to visit.

Our home supports a wide range of needs, including older person care, residential care, dementia care, physical disability, visual and hearing impairment, care for younger adults, and respite care. We believe that no two people are the same, and we take the time to get to know each person individually so that the support we offer truly fits their life, their preferences, and their routines. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the biggest decisions a family can make, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. From the moment someone steps through our door, whether they are joining us permanently or for a short respite stay, we want them to feel at home. That means being listened to, being treated with dignity, and having a real say in how their day looks. Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels genuinely homely rather than clinical. We focus on building real relationships with residents and their families, because we know that good communication and trust make all the difference to someone's wellbeing and peace of mind. We are pleased to have received a rating of Good from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistent effort our team puts in every single day. We at Adel Grange Residential Home warmly welcome you to our residential care home in Leeds, where compassion, comfort, and dignity sit at the heart of everything we do. Nestled within the Leeds community in the LS postcode area, our home offers a peaceful and homely setting for older people seeking long term residential care, specialist dementia support, or short respite stays. Our environment has been thoughtfully created to feel like a genuine home rather than an institution. Situated in a familiar Yorkshire neighbourhood, residents benefit from the calm surroundings of our locality whilst remaining well connected to the wider Leeds area, making visits from loved ones straightforward and unhurried. Comfortable communal spaces and private areas allow residents to enjoy company when they wish and quiet reflection when they prefer. When it comes to care, we specialise in residential care, dementia care, and respite care. For those living with dementia, our approach centres on understanding each individual, their history, their preferences, and the small routines that bring reassurance throughout the day. This person centred ethos means families can feel confident that their relative is known as a person, not simply supported as a patient. Our residential care offers steady, dependable daily support for those who no longer wish to manage life at home alone, whilst our respite provision gives family carers the opportunity to rest, travel, or recover, knowing their loved one is in caring hands during their stay with us. Following our most recent CQC inspection in April 2025, Adel Grange received an overall rating of Requires Improvement. Within this, we are proud that our Effective, Caring, and Responsive domains were each rated Good, reflecting the kindness of our team, the quality of the day to day support residents receive, and our commitment to responding to individual needs. The areas rated Requires Improvement, Safe and Well led, are ones we take very seriously, and we are actively working on strengthening these aspects so that every part of life at Adel Grange reaches the standard our residents and families deserve. We believe in being open about where we are on this journey and remain fully committed to continuous improvement. If you are exploring care options in Leeds for yourself or a loved one, we would be delighted to hear from you. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. • Care Home

Kirkstall Court is a residential care home in Leeds. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and we support younger adults too. We also take respite stays for families needing a planned break. A care home is either somebody's home or it is an institution wearing softer furniture, and residents work out which within a week. So we pay attention to the things that actually decide it. Whether staff knock and wait. Whether you can get a cup of tea at ten at night. Whether the person helping you knows what you used to do for a living. Whether anybody notices when you have gone quiet for a couple of days. For residents with physical disabilities we plan the practical side around what the person can still manage themselves, not around what is quickest for us. Independence given away for the sake of convenience is rarely handed back. Having both younger and older residents means we cannot run one programme and call it activities. We ask people individually, and we accept that a good afternoon for one is company and noise while for another it is being left alone in peace. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Relatives are welcome to turn up unannounced, which is the only visit that shows you anything real.

Adel Square is a care home in Leeds, providing residential care for older people, including residents living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We support younger adults as well, and we offer respite stays. We want the place to feel domestic rather than institutional, and that is mostly a matter of resisting convenience. It is quicker to wake everyone at the same time, serve meals in one sitting and run the day to a timetable that suits the building. It is better for the people living here if we do not, and that is the daily choice a good home keeps making. Dementia care rests on familiarity more than anything else. A recognisable order to the day, faces that stay the same, a room that looks like the person's own, and staff who know enough about somebody's earlier life to make sense of what they are saying now. Families supply most of that history and we lean on them heavily. Being in Leeds means visitors can come easily and residents can get out, which does more for a week than any organised programme. Respite stays are available for carers needing a break and for people regaining their strength. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. The most useful thing you can do is visit unannounced, look properly and talk to whoever you like. You would be very welcome.

Cookridge Court is a residential care home in Leeds. We are home to older people, including many living with dementia and people with physical disabilities, and respite stays are part of what we do. Whether anybody notices you have gone quiet for a couple of days. For residents living with dementia we keep the routine steady and the surroundings unchanged, and we ask relatives early for the history, because it is much harder to gather later. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to leave that out and hope it passes unnoticed. We accept the findings, we are working through them, and we will not claim in a paragraph that everything is resolved. We are a residential care home in Leeds, providing a home for older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. We try to run the place so that it belongs to the people who live in it. Residents have their own rooms with their own belongings, get up and go to bed when they choose and decide how they want to spend their days. Meals are cooked here and we listen when somebody says they would rather have something else. Much of what makes a care home worth living in is small and unglamorous: being helped to wash without being rushed, a hot drink at the time you actually want it, somebody noticing when you have gone quiet and sitting down with you. Dementia care, as we have come to understand it, is mostly a matter of knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is frightened or cannot place where they are. Family and friends are welcome whenever they would like to come, and we would always rather a relative raised a concern straight away. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Do come and look round and ask us anything.

We at Dolphin Manor are proud to offer compassionate residential care in the heart of Leeds, providing a warm and welcoming home for older people, adults living with dementia, and individuals with a wide range of care needs across our Yorkshire community. Set within the LS postcode area of Leeds, our home has been thoughtfully designed to feel comfortable, familiar, and reassuring. We believe that a nurturing environment plays an essential role in wellbeing, and we work hard to create surroundings where residents can feel truly at home. From communal areas that encourage friendship and connection to quieter spaces where residents can enjoy a moment of calm, every corner of Dolphin Manor is shaped around the people who live here. Our specialisms reflect the diverse needs of the individuals we support. Alongside dedicated older person and residential care, we provide skilled dementia care for those navigating memory loss and cognitive change, offering routines and gentle support that help residents feel safe and understood. We also welcome adults with learning disabilities or autism, individuals living with mental health conditions, and those with physical disabilities or visual and hearing impairments. Our experience with younger adults means we understand that care is never one size fits all, and we tailor our approach to reflect each person's story, preferences, and aspirations. For families seeking short term support, our respite care offers a valuable opportunity for loved ones to receive attentive care whilst regular carers take a well deserved break. Whether the stay is planned in advance or arranged during a period of change, we aim to make the transition smooth and the experience positive. We are pleased to be rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission, reflecting the standard of care, effectiveness, responsiveness, and leadership our team strives to uphold every day. The CQC recognised strengths across our caring approach, the responsiveness of our support, and the way our home is led, whilst also noting areas where we continue to focus on improvement, particularly around safety. We take this feedback seriously and remain committed to strengthening every aspect of life at Dolphin Manor, so that residents and their families can feel confident in the care we provide. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring options for a loved one in Leeds, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and learn more about how we could support your family. At Dolphin Manor, our door is always open, and we would be honoured to help you take the next step with confidence and peace of mind.

Stone Gables is a residential care home in Leeds. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are putting that at the top rather than the bottom, because a family looking at care homes deserves to hear it from us. We know which areas were identified, work is under way on them, and we will talk anybody through what has actually changed. The daily work here is straightforward and it is what we are judged on by the people who live with us. Getting somebody up in the way they prefer. Meals worth sitting down to. Company when it is wanted and quiet when it is not. Noticing early when a person is not themselves. For people living with dementia, keeping faces and routines steady and following their pace instead of ours. For people with a physical disability or with sight or hearing loss, getting the practical detail right, from equipment that fits to belongings staying where they were left. Respite stays give a family carer a planned break. Please visit and judge the home for yourself.

Olive Lodge is a residential care home in Leeds. We support older people, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. We try to run the home around the people who live in it. Someone can have a lie in, eat later, keep their own furniture and pictures around them, and decide for themselves whether to join in with what is happening or to shut their door. There is company for those who want it and peace for those who do not. Dementia and sensory loss both ask for patience and consistency from a staff team. We check that hearing aids and glasses are working and being worn, we keep rooms well lit and free of clutter, we sit where a person can see us, and we allow time for an answer. Where the words become difficult, knowing a person's history is what carries us, and families usually hold that knowledge. We work closely with GPs, district nurses and community teams across the city, and we keep relatives properly involved rather than contacting them only when something has gone wrong. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering residential care in Leeds, please come and visit at an ordinary time of day and see how the home feels.

We are a residential care home in Leeds, providing a home for older people, including many living with dementia, and for younger adults who need residential care. Our staff are here at all hours, and we work with local GPs and district nurses so that health needs are seen to quickly. We aim for a home that feels like a home. That means people get up and go to bed when they want, eat what they fancy, keep their own habits and fill their rooms with their own things. It also means we ask rather than assume, and that we take an interest in what somebody did with their life before they came here. For people living with dementia we keep things familiar and calm, and we allow time. A person who is unsettled generally needs somebody to sit with them rather than to be reasoned with, and our staff know that. Visitors are welcome, and we keep families informed rather than waiting for them to ring us. We offer respite and short stays as well as permanent places, which can help a family carer take a proper break. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. We are a residential care home in Leeds supporting adults with a range of needs. Older people who need residential care, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability or autism, people managing a mental health condition and people with physical disabilities. Our starting point is always the person rather than the category they fall into. We ask how somebody wants to live, what they want to carry on doing themselves and what they would like help with, and we agree it with them and with anyone they want involved. Plans are reviewed properly rather than simply filed. We put our effort into the ordinary run of the day, since that is what people actually experience. Meals that people have chosen, a routine that suits them, the chance to get out, and staff with time to sit and talk rather than only to do tasks. Where somebody finds change difficult we keep things steady and give plenty of notice. Families, friends and advocates are welcome, and we work with them as closely as the person wants. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. Horsforth Manor Care Home is a residential home in Leeds. We look after older people who can no longer manage at home on their own, and we also support younger adults whose needs mean that living independently is not workable at the moment. The people who live here have a wide range of needs. Some are living with dementia, some have a physical disability and need help to move about safely, and some have impaired sight or hearing, which shapes almost everything about how we communicate. We adapt to the person rather than expecting the person to adapt to us, whether that means speaking clearly and face on, keeping belongings exactly where someone expects to find them, or allowing plenty of time for somebody to finish a sentence. Daily life here is fairly ordinary and that is deliberate. There is a cooked breakfast, there are papers and puzzles and television, there are trips out when the weather allows and there are quiet corners for people who would rather not be in the thick of it. We take respite bookings as well as permanent placements, so a family carer can have a break knowing their relative is properly looked after. Horsforth is a friendly part of Leeds and families find us easy to visit. If you would like to see the home, please call and arrange a time that suits you.

Red Court Care Home and The Grove Care Home in Pudsey provide residential care for older people, including those living with dementia. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Running two homes close to one another suits the way we work. Each is small enough that staff know everybody properly and routines can be genuinely individual, and each feels like a household rather than a facility. We keep things straightforward. People usually come to us because managing at home had become hard work, and what they want back is some ease. Meals they do not have to plan or cook. Help when washing and dressing has become a struggle. Somebody who notices when they are not themselves. Company when they want it and quiet when they do not. Residents carry on running their own lives as far as they are able, choosing their routines and arranging their rooms. We ask people to bring their own furniture and pictures, because a room that looks like yours makes settling in far easier. Dementia care here is built on consistency. Oulton Manor is a residential care home in Leeds. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we support some younger adults. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Most people arrive having found managing at home increasingly hard work. What they want back is some ease, and that is really what we offer. Company when they want it and quiet when they do not. Residents carry on running their own lives as far as they are able. We encourage people to bring their own things, because familiar surroundings make settling in far easier. Dementia care here is built on consistency rather than anything elaborate. Familiar staff, a predictable day, and knowing something about the person's earlier life. When somebody becomes anxious, we treat it as information and look for the reason. Families and friends are welcome at sensible hours and are part of the household rather than visitors to be managed. Respite stays suit family carers needing a proper break and people recovering after illness. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Nestled within the LS postcode area of Leeds, our residential care home is thoughtfully positioned to feel both connected and peaceful. The surroundings give residents the comfort of familiar community life whilst offering the calm and security that a true home should provide. Our environment has been shaped with warmth in mind, creating spaces where residents can relax, socialise, and feel genuinely at ease throughout their daily routines. At Springfield, our care reaches across several specialised areas, allowing us to support a diverse community of residents. Older person care sits at the heart of what we do, and we take great pride in honouring the individuality, life stories, and preferences of every person who lives with us. For those living with dementia, we provide a structured and reassuring approach, where familiar routines, gentle encouragement, and patient understanding help residents feel safe and respected each day. We also welcome younger adults and individuals with mental health needs, recognising that good care is never one size fits all. Each resident benefits from a personalised approach built around their wellbeing, dignity, and aspirations, whilst families are kept closely involved in decisions and updates about their loved one. In practice, this means meaningful daily interactions, attentive support with personal care, and a focus on emotional wellbeing alongside physical health. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we work hard to ensure that trust, transparency, and kindness underpin everything we do. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection, carried out in June 2022, resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We were particularly pleased that the Caring domain was rated Good, reflecting the genuine warmth and compassion our team brings to every interaction with residents. We acknowledge that the Safe, Effective, Responsive, and Well led domains were identified as areas needing improvement, and we take this feedback seriously. We are committed to learning, growing, and strengthening every aspect of the care we provide so that families can feel confident in the standards we uphold. If you are exploring residential care options in Leeds for a loved one, we warmly invite you to get in touch with Springfield. Whether you would like to ask questions, learn more about our approach, or arrange a visit to meet our team, we are here to listen and to help. Choosing the right home is a deeply personal journey, and we would be honoured to walk that path alongside you with openness, care, and respect.

Augustus Court is a residential care home in Leeds, supporting older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia. Honesty first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to dress that up. Inspectors found things that fell short, we accept the findings, and we are working through them rather than disputing them. If you are considering us for a relative, ask us directly what was raised and what we have done about it, and expect a proper answer instead of reassurance. What we are trying to do here is what any good residential home does. Take the practical weight off somebody's shoulders so that the rest of life can carry on. Food cooked here that people want to eat. Personal care given calmly and privately. Medication managed properly. Warm rooms that look like somebody's own. Staff awake at night. A day with enough shape to be worth getting up for, and no obligation to join in with anything. Dementia care is a large part of our work. Familiar faces, an unhurried house and enough knowledge of a person's history to reach them when they are distressed do far more than correction ever will, and relatives usually hold that history. Come and see the place, at a busy time of day, and talk to residents and their families. That will tell you more about where we are now than any grade will.

Augustus Court is a residential care home in Leeds. We provide a permanent home for adults who need care and support with the everyday business of living, and we would like the place to feel like a household rather than a facility. Our care is residential rather than nursing. We help with personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, and we call in community health professionals when something more clinical is needed. Many of our residents live with dementia, and we rely on the things that really work: familiar faces, a routine that stays put, food people recognise and reassurance offered as often as it is needed. We also support younger adults, and we take care to plan their interests and routines separately rather than folding them into a pattern designed for older residents. Respite stays are available for families who need a planned break from caring at home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would sooner set that out here ourselves than have a family discover it later and wonder why we kept quiet. Our attention at present is on the areas that were identified. If you are considering Augustus Court for someone you care about, please visit on an ordinary day, speak to residents and their relatives, and ask us about the rating directly.

We are The Hollies, a residential care home in Leeds. We care for older people and younger adults, and many of those living with us are living with dementia. We have tried to keep the feel of a house rather than an institution. People bring their own furniture and pictures, come down when they wake rather than when a rota says so, and spend the day as they please. Some like the sitting room and the conversation that goes with it, others prefer their own room with the radio on, and neither needs explaining to anybody. Dementia care takes patience and it takes knowing the person. We spend time learning about the work somebody did, the family they raised, the music they grew up with and the routines that steady them. We do not argue about what year it is or where a person believes they are going. We meet people where they are and find something worth doing together. The staff here know residents well enough to notice when somebody is quieter than usual or eating less, and those early signs are what stop small problems becoming serious. We keep families informed and would far rather ring early. Visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. We work with GPs, district nurses and social workers, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see the home.

St Armands Court is a residential care home in Leeds. We provide care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, and we offer respite and short stays. We are the size of place where everybody knows everybody. Staff know who is up at six, who wants a late breakfast, who likes company and who would sooner be left alone with the radio. None of that is written into a policy, but it is most of what makes a care home somewhere a person could actually live. When somebody moves in we take time over their history. Work, family, places, music, faith, the things that shaped them. It helps us support people living with dementia, and it helps our staff see a person rather than a set of needs. Dementia care here depends on familiarity and on not rushing anyone. We keep staffing as steady as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what reassures a particular resident, since it is rarely the same for two of them. Families get honest updates from us rather than comfortable ones. Meals are cooked here and residents tell us what they want on the menu. There is something going on most days, and no obligation to take part. Visitors are welcome through the day and can stay for a meal. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see the home and talk to the people living in it.

Here at Oaklands Residential Home, we provide thoughtful and attentive care for the people who live with us in the heart of Leeds. We are proud to have received a "Good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine commitment our team brings to everyday life here. We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, people living with dementia, those with physical disabilities, and people with visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults who need residential support, and we offer respite care for those who need a short stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give family carers a much needed break. What we try to get right, above all else, is making sure that each person feels genuinely at home. That means listening carefully to what matters to individuals, respecting their routines, and supporting their independence wherever possible. We understand that moving into a care home, or choosing one for a loved one, is a significant and often emotional decision, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our team works hard to create an environment that feels warm and familiar rather than clinical. We take time to get to know the people in our care, learning about their histories, their preferences, and the things that bring them joy. That knowledge shapes the way we support people each day. If you are considering Oaklands for yourself or for a family member, we would warmly encourage you to come and visit us. Meeting our team and seeing the home for yourself is always the best way to get a real sense of who we are and how we work. • Care Home

We are a residential care home in Leeds, providing a home for older people who need help with daily living, including those living with dementia. Our aim is an unhurried house. A great deal of care is spoiled simply by being rushed, so we try to give people the time to wash, dress and eat at their own pace, and to sit with somebody who wants to talk rather than moving straight on to the next task. Residents keep their own rooms, belongings and routines as far as we can manage, and they decide how much they want to be part of whatever is happening. Meals are cooked here and we pay attention when somebody would rather have something different. Dementia care comes down to knowing the person. We ask families to tell us about working life, children, music, faith and old habits, because that knowledge is what allows a member of staff to reassure somebody who is anxious or cannot place where they are. It is worth a great deal more than any written procedure. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. A planned break can be what allows a relative to keep providing care at home for longer. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come, and we would far rather hear about a problem early than find out late. Please come and see the home for yourself.

Arranging and funding a dementia care home place in Leeds

The administrative side of a move into a dementia care home tends to run slower than the illness does, which is the strongest argument for beginning it early. Nothing about an assessment commits a family to anything, and it gives you information you would otherwise be guessing at.

Requesting a care needs assessment

Any adult who appears to need care and support is entitled to a free assessment, whatever their savings, including someone whose dementia was diagnosed only recently. Arrange one through Leeds City Council Adult Social Care, the authority responsible for assessments and funded support in this area. A practitioner will consider memory and orientation, personal care, mobility, medication, eating and drinking and risks such as walking out at night or leaving the gas on, then record the support identified in writing. A partner or adult child providing that care daily should ask for a carer's assessment of their own at the same time.

What dementia care costs

A financial assessment then measures income, savings and capital against thresholds set nationally to establish whether the authority contributes towards fees. Dementia care often carries a higher weekly rate than general residential care, because it calls for closer supervision and more staff time. Ask each home for its fees in writing, be clear about which extras sit outside the weekly figure, and ask directly what happens to the fee as needs increase, since with dementia they generally do.

Choosing between dementia care homes in Leeds

Forty nine homes is far more than anyone can visit, so the list has to be cut down on paper first. Dementia registration, distance from family and the inspection record do that job better than photographs of the garden. Distance deserves more weight than families usually give it, because a home that is easy to reach on an ordinary weekday is the one that gets visited often, and frequent visitors remain the best safeguard any resident has.

Registration and the inspection picture

Confirm first that a home is registered with the Care Quality Commission for dementia care, then turn to what inspectors said. One home here holds an Outstanding rating and thirty one are rated Good, while twelve are rated Requires Improvement and five have not been rated. For dementia, read what the report says about whether the service is caring and responsive, since that is where the texture of daily life appears. Check the date of the visit and ask any home that has been marked down what has changed since.

What to watch for when you visit

Go in the afternoon, when tiredness and agitation are often at their worst, and stay long enough to see a difficult moment handled. Watch whether people are approached calmly and by name, whether residents can walk about safely, and whether the layout makes it easy to find the lavatory or a way outside. Ask what dementia training staff receive, how many carers are on duty overnight, how stable the team has been and how a new resident is supported through the first fortnight.

Frequently asked questions about dementia care homes in Leeds

How many dementia care homes are there in Leeds?

Leeds has 54 CQC registered care homes that are registered for dementia care, out of 92 CQC registered care homes in Leeds: 1 Outstanding, 34 Good, 14 Requires improvement, 5 not yet rated. Counts come from the CQC register and are kept up to date as ratings change.

Which dementia care homes in Leeds were inspected most recently?

Alexandra Court Residential Home (18 September 2026), Carr Croft Care Home (11 September 2026) and Rievaulx House Care Centre (24 August 2026) have the most recent CQC reports.

Can Leeds City Council fund a dementia care home placement?

It can where a needs assessment shows residential dementia care is appropriate and a financial assessment supports it. Income, savings and capital are compared with nationally set thresholds to work out who pays and how much. Where funding is agreed, the authority may arrange the placement itself or contribute towards fees at a home the family has chosen. If that home costs more than the agreed rate, a third party may be asked to meet the difference.

How is a care needs assessment arranged in Leeds?

Contact Leeds City Council and ask for an adult social care needs assessment, by telephone or through its website. The assessment is free and open to anyone who appears to need care and support, whatever their financial position. A practitioner will discuss memory, daily living, mobility, medication and safety at home, usually during a visit. Their written record sets out the support identified and forms the basis for any funding decision.

How early should a family start looking at dementia care homes?

Months rather than weeks ahead, because dementia often changes gradually and then very suddenly. Assessments take time to organise, and homes with a good reputation for dementia care frequently have waiting lists. Looking early also lets your relative share in the decision while they are still able to, which many families find matters greatly afterwards. Two or three unhurried visits made now will make a later move calmer for everyone.

Which dementia care homes in Leeds are listed on this page?

54 residential care homes appear here, each registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide accommodation with personal care for people living with dementia. One is rated Outstanding and thirty one are rated Good, while twelve are rated Requires Improvement and five have not yet been inspected. Every entry links to a profile carrying the rating, registration categories and inspection history. Checking dementia registration is the first filter to apply before anything else.

What should I ask when visiting a dementia care home in Leeds?

Ask what dementia specific training staff receive and how often it is repeated. Ask how the home responds when someone becomes distressed, and what is tried before medication is considered. Find out how many carers are on duty overnight, how long the team has been together and how a new resident is helped through the first weeks. Request the weekly fee in writing along with everything charged separately, and ask what happens to it as needs grow.

What is the difference between a dementia care home and a dementia nursing home?

A dementia care home provides accommodation and personal care from staff trained to support people living with dementia. A dementia nursing home offers the same and additionally keeps registered nurses on site at all hours for clinical needs. The homes listed on this page are registered for residential rather than nursing care. Where dementia is advanced and accompanied by medical needs such as complex medication or difficulty swallowing, look for a nursing registration.
