About Us

We at Fleetwood House are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in the heart of Littlehampton, West Sussex, providing specialist support for adults living with learning disabilities and autism. Our home has been thoughtfully designed to be a place where residents feel safe, valued, and genuinely at home.

Set within the friendly coastal community of Littlehampton, our home benefits from the gentle pace and natural beauty that this part of the South East offers. The BN postcode area is well known for its accessible seafront, green spaces, and close knit local community, all of which help create a calm and supportive backdrop for daily life. Inside, we have worked hard to create comfortable communal areas and private spaces where residents can relax, socialise, or enjoy quiet moments at their own pace.

Our specialism in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism sits at the heart of everything we do. We understand that each person who joins us is an individual with their own story, preferences, and aspirations, and we tailor our support accordingly. For younger adults in particular, we focus on building independence, confidence, and meaningful daily routines, whether that involves developing life skills, pursuing personal interests, or simply enjoying time with others in a setting that feels familiar and reassuring.

Alongside our longer term residential care, we also provide respite care, offering families a trusted place to turn when they need short term support. Whether a loved one is staying with us for a planned break or to give family carers time to rest and recharge, we aim to make every stay feel comforting, structured, and engaging. We know how difficult it can be to step away from a caring role, and we work closely with families to ensure that respite stays are smooth and positive from beginning to end.

In terms of regulatory oversight, our most recent CQC inspection in April 2022 resulted in an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We were pleased that inspectors rated us as Good in the Caring and Responsive domains, recognising the kindness of our team and the way we respond to the individual needs of those we support. We fully acknowledge the areas highlighted for improvement across the Safe, Effective, and Well led domains, and we are committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and positive change. For us, the inspection process is an important part of how we continue to grow and strengthen the quality of care we provide, and we welcome open conversations with families about the steps we are taking.

Choosing a care home for someone you love is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we never take that responsibility lightly. If you are considering residential care, respite support, or specialist provision for a younger adult with a learning disability or autism in the Littlehampton area, we warmly invite you to get in touch. We would be delighted to answer your questions, share more about our approach, and help you decide whether Fleetwood House could be the right home for your loved one.
