About Us
Ayton House is a residential care home in Littlehampton, West Sussex. We look after older people who need support with daily living, and we also welcome younger adults whose needs make managing at home unrealistic.
A good deal of our work is with residents living with dementia, and with people whose mobility or physical health limits what they can do for themselves. We keep the house calm and familiar, we give people time instead of hurrying them, and we make sure staff know each resident's history and preferences, because that knowledge shapes every part of the day.
We want the house to feel ordinary. Residents keep their own belongings and routines, choose how they spend their time, and see visitors when it suits them. There is company for anyone who wants it and somewhere quiet for anyone who does not.
Respite stays are available alongside permanent places, whether to give a family carer a planned break or to help someone regain confidence after illness.
Families know the person far better than any assessment does, so we ask for their knowledge and keep them properly informed.
The best way to judge a care home is to see it. Please come at a time that suits you, meet the team, speak to residents and relatives, and ask us whatever you need to ask.
