About The Ranch

The Ranch is a residential care home in Woking supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with mental health needs. We are a household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a real say in how their own home is run. Support is planned one person at a time. Some residents want help with most parts of the day; others need very little practical help but rely on us for structure, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a difficult day looks like for them. We take our time over that at the start and we listen to the people who know somebody best. Everyday life covers the ordinary business of a household: cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room how you like it, deciding what to do at the weekend and getting out locally. We support people to do what they can for themselves and we help properly where help is needed. For residents with mental health needs a calm and predictable household does more good than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. Our staff are trained in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. Please get in touch if you would like to come and see the house.
