About The Pines

The Pines is a residential care home in Hindhead, Surrey, supporting older people and younger adults, including people living with learning disabilities and autism and people with physical disabilities. A house shared by adults of different ages and very different needs only works if difference is expected rather than merely tolerated. Our residents do not want the same day as one another. Some want company from breakfast onwards, others prefer their own company until the afternoon. Some need a great deal of practical help, others mainly need a settled base and staff who know them properly. Running the place well means holding all of that at once without letting the loudest need crowd out the quietest person. We plan support with each individual and with whoever they want involved, and we adapt how we communicate to suit them, whether that means more time, fewer words, written information or simply less noise around them. Respite stays are available for short periods of support or to give a family carer a planned break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good, and visitors are welcome.
