About The Cedars

We at The Cedars are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in the leafy village of Hindhead, Surrey, where our residents feel truly at home. As a specialist residential care setting, we provide thoughtful, person centred support for adults with a range of needs, in one of the South East's most tranquil corners. Nestled within the GU postcode area, our home benefits from the peaceful surroundings for which Hindhead is well loved, with its abundance of greenery, quiet lanes and gentle village atmosphere. This calm environment provides the perfect backdrop for daily life at The Cedars, offering residents a sense of space, safety and community, whilst remaining well connected to the wider Surrey area for family visits and days out. Our specialisms reflect the diverse individuals we welcome through our doors. We support adults living with learning disabilities and autism, alongside those with physical disabilities, and we are particularly experienced in caring for younger adults who benefit from an environment tailored to their stage of life. In practice, this means we take time to understand each person as an individual, learning their preferences, routines, hopes and interests, and shaping our support around them. Whether someone requires help with daily living, communication, mobility, or simply a reassuring presence to build confidence, our approach is grounded in dignity, patience and genuine care. We also offer respite care, which can be a lifeline for families who provide loving support at home and occasionally need a trusted place for their relative to stay. Whether respite is planned in advance for a holiday or arranged during a period of change, we aim to make every guest feel as comfortable and valued as our permanent residents. For families, this offers not only peace of mind but also the reassurance that their loved one is spending time in a home where warmth and professionalism go hand in hand. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our overall Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, following inspection in August 2019. We were rated Good across every domain assessed, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well led. For families, this consistent picture is meaningful. It indicates that our residents are protected from harm, that the care and support we provide has a positive impact on wellbeing, that our team treats people with kindness and respect, that we respond thoughtfully to individual needs, and that the home is guided by strong and reliable leadership. We view this rating as both an affirmation of our approach and a foundation on which we continue to build. Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family can make, and we understand the emotions that come with it. If you are exploring options for a loved one and would like to learn more about life at The Cedars in Hindhead, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please do reach out to arrange a conversation or a visit, so we can share more about our home and, most importantly, listen to what matters most to you and your family.
