About Us
103 Heath Street is a care home in Newcastle under Lyme, run by Choices Housing Association. We provide residential care for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment, and we support both younger adults and older people. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with that and cautious about it, because the standard is far easier to reach than to hold and the quickest way to lose it is to start quoting it at people.
What gets us there is not complicated. People here have a genuine say over an ordinary week, and staff who know them properly rather than in outline. Communication taken seriously, so that where somebody does not use speech we learn how they tell us things. Routines that hold steady, and changes explained well in advance.
Families and social workers considering a placement are welcome to visit, meet the people living here and ask us whatever they need to.
