About Us
Vauxhall Court is a residential care home in Boston, Lincolnshire. We support older people, including many living with dementia, and people managing mental health conditions. We also take respite stays for families who need a break or who are working out what the next step should be.
Most of what makes a care home good is unglamorous and happens every day. Meals people actually want to eat. Being helped to the bathroom without waiting. Knowing the name of whoever is on this afternoon. Having somebody notice that you are quieter than usual. We put our attention there rather than into anything that sounds impressive from a distance.
For residents living with dementia we work to keep the day predictable and the surroundings familiar, and we take the trouble to learn a person's history so that the things they say make sense to us. Families are a large part of that, since they hold the details we would otherwise never know.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and we would rather say so plainly than hope it goes unnoticed. We have taken the findings seriously and are working on what was identified. We would encourage anybody considering us to visit unannounced, talk to residents and relatives, and press us on what has changed and what has not.
