About Hanningfield Retirement Home
Hanningfield Retirement Home is a residential care home in Sittingbourne, Kent. We look after older people who need help with everyday life, and we take respite bookings for people who want a stay of a few weeks, whether that is to recover after hospital or to give a family carer a proper break. We are not trying to be anything other than a comfortable, well run home. People get up when they choose, eat proper food they actually like, keep their own belongings around them and spend the day in whatever way suits. Some join in with everything going on, some prefer the quiet end of the lounge with a crossword, and neither needs explaining. What makes that work is staff who know people rather than tasks. Our team notice when somebody is off colour, when an appetite has fallen away or when a usually chatty person has gone quiet, and they do something about it. We keep in close touch with local GPs and district nurses so that health needs are picked up early. Relatives are welcome in Sittingbourne whenever suits them, and we would far rather be told plainly when something has slipped. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you would like to look round and meet the team, please ring and we will arrange it.
